Q: Aspire VN7 591G finally works perfect under window...

After some battling with drivers I was able to get the touchpad gestures to work, which was the last thing left to make all the laptop components work under windows 7 (which is not supported by Acer for this laptop). I could not find the solution anywhere on the internet so I thought I would share my results. First off I installed synaptics drivers v17_0_19_C from synaptis official website. After installation they are not recognized in the system and the touchpad has still the default microsoft mouse driver. I opened the device manager and manually updated the driver using the option "from disk" and pointed to the synaptics driver. Now in the device manager the device name is "Synaptics HID TouchPad" but still it is not functioning and it has a yellow exclamation mark. After reboot I started the "snappy driver" installer software which found an update to the touchpad driver. Voila!I got the synaptics console in the taskbar and all the gesture and scrolling options. Where is the driver from I have no idea though, it has version 19.0.14.36, date 2015-07-23, Synaptics, not signed.

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Hi Everyone,

I am not sure which Windows update caused this, but ever since that download, whenever I close a window, the little blue disc keeps turning until the window DOES finally close. (Hope you understand what I'm saying.) This happens after closing EACH window, ALL the time.

Essentially, it takes a few extra secs for the closed window to really close. It's irritating/frustrating because I don't know how to fix it. I've put as much of my comp's info in my profile as I know or could find. Have been working with comps for six or so years. Not a total dummy, help alot of friends , and always reaching to learn more.

Have never seen this problem anywhere or it would be fixed by now, lol Can't STAND the waiting it causes til I can move onto something else.

Any suggestions?? PLEASE???

CompInfo: Vista Ultimate, IE8--See Profile for more.

I thank you for your time.

A:Closing a window causes little blue disc to turn til window finally DOES close

Welcome
Lets try two steps to see if we can fix the problem
Assuming that you are using IE go to>tools>internet options>advanced>resest and see if that helps.
Second try with clean boot to see if some software is behind the problem
How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7
If it works follow the instructions to find the precise cause

Bios update bricked the notebook. My battery was not detected properly in windows 10 so  I followed a suggestion in the forum to update the bios. When the utility for update ran it rebooted my machine then for a glimpse a DOS like TUI progress bar appeared afterwards the screen flickered and then nothing. I left it like that for 10-15 minutes in the end I tried to reboot but again the same black underlid screen apperaed and the battery indicator blinked. I found posts for other Acer models that offered the option to emergency recover a bios by uploading it on a USB flash drive and boot with Fn+Esc pressed. When following this procedure indeed the notebook tries to enter this recovery mode, but the Bios file for my laptop downloaded from acer support site, doesn't contain neither .ROM, nor .BIN, nor .FD files. When extracting the single ZRY_108.exe manually with 7-zip I only see windows executables and libs like FlsHook.exe iscflashx64.dll, BiosImageProcx64.dll etc. The manuals don't say anything about recovering bios. Please help, does anyone have a procedure on how to do a recovery on this moded?

Hi, I don't know if it will work but you can give a try. Turn off the notebook and on the back there is a small pinhole where  you need to insert a paperclip into the hole and press for four seconds. This will simulate the removal and reinstall of the battery. It could also somehow reset the Embedded controller, but I am not sure.

Hi, Yes, the temperatures are normal for operation. Very demanding applications can raise the temperature to such levels. Don't worry because the T junction of the processor is around 100 degrees. So usually at 95 degrees the processor will start to throttle (the same goes for the GPU but at lower temperature) which means that it will reduce it's speed to don't reach the T junction temperature. In games the throttling you can notice it by the fact that the frame rates drop to a lower value. There are a few suggestions for reducting the temperature. Try a cooling pad, change the thermal paste, use some software to adjust the fan speed depending on the usage. As I told a few times, I did change the thermal paste, it improved a lot, but not as you might think. I mean the processor is able to run at higher speeds before starts to throttle but still sits at around 95 degrees when I do intensive tasks or stress tests.

I have a fairly new Acer Aspire V5-591G-52HC with a Geforce GTX 950M graphics card. It comes with a 96GB SSD and a 1TB HDD. I have upgraded to a 500GB SSD. I have used a USB flash drive to make a clean install of WIN10 HOME 64bit. No problem. I my problem comes, when I want to install my Geforce graphics card. I feel I have tried everything but I simply cannot have it working, and it kills my WIN installation. When I use the exact same driver version, which I download from the Acer package of drivers that fits my Laptop (and which is installed on the original 96GB SSD which still works fine), the computer makes blue screen before the installation of the graphics driver is completed. If I try in safe mode, I succeed to install the driver. But when I then restart in normal mode, the computer freezes, before I manage to log in. I have tried quite a lot of different tips and tricks which I have googled, and also a couple of different versions of the driver. but without any luck yet. Any help is greatly appreciated. Also help to understand why it can be working with the exact same driver on the original 96GB SSD.

Hello. I bought my Laptop (Acer Aspire VN7-591G) With Window 8.1 installed on it. One of the applications it came with was Dolby Digital Plus - and it was an amazing product, it made my laptop much louder and the voice was much cleaner. But soon after the purchase I upgraded to windows 10 (in about 2 days). After the upgrade, dolby digital plus still remained and when it's turned on, it does work fine. But the problem is, it keeps turning itself off. When I open a new Video File, when I play new mp3 File ,when I open a new Video - every time, it turns itself off and I have to turn it on again. And when I play a game, it becomes really difficult. For example, when I open GTAV, it turns off dolby digital plus. when I minimize the game windows, turn it on and maximize the game, it once again does the same. similar things happen with other games as well.Could you tell me what I can do about it? I tried searching for a new version of Dolby Digital Plus, but I couldn't find any download links for dolby digital. Then I downloaded newest Sound driver (for Windows 10), but after I installed it, dolby digital was gone completely so I restored the previous version.I have a friend who has the similar problem with dolby digital after upgrading to windows 10, so I'm pretty sure the problem is not specific to my PC. I'd be grateful for any suggestions.

But when this issue happens, the wifi button under the networks system disappears completely. It doesn't show up anywhere. I would check under device manager to see if qualcomm is there, it is not there either. I am at a complete lost on what is going on with my laptop.  I've tried system recovery and that also does not work.

So I have an Acer Aspire V5-591G that fell while I was travelling (never going to travel by bus at long distances again!) and it needs a matrix replacement. However, I am having difficulties finding what matrixes are compatible with it.I have given it to an authorized repair center but I'm afraid they're going to want too much money, which I at the moment do not have. It's 15'6 with 1920x1080 FULL HD resolution. Thank you for your time

As like above, my laptop screen sometimes become like this when I adjust screen or shaked abit. Do you know any idea why it's happening? or how to fix it

There doesn't seem to be a picture or video attached, but with display issues as you describe it would likely be a hardware issue that would require service. If the system is under warranty you can contact support at the number at this link: http://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/service-contact.

Hi,I have an Acer Aspire VN7-591G-70RT which came with a western digital blue 5400rpm HDD which is throttling my laptops performance. I contacted Acer recently to ask what upgrades could be made and they confirmed I could fit an SSD up to 256gb and up to 16gb of ram.I have bought an SSD now and will be installing it, however I wanted to ask how I could go about setting the SSD as my primary drive. At this point I assume I could install the SSD, then select it as primary boot device in the BIOS by pressing F2, then installing windows 10 via my USB. Should this be fine on reboot or will the existence of windows on my current HDD cause a conflict? Thanks

Hi,I have an Adding an Acer Aspire VN7-591G-70RT with a slow 5400rpm 1TB WD Blue which is creating a bottleneck in my laptop.I have checked on Crucial to see if there are compatible SSD's for my laptop who recommended:Crucial MX200 250GB M.2 Type 2280 (Single Sided) Internal SSD I was wondering, does anyone know if this information is correct? I've been getting mixed information online, 250GB wouldn't cut my storage needs if I could only mount a 2.5" SSD so my intention would be to have a 250 SSD installed as well as my 1TB HDD.Also, If the SSD was not the primary drive would I still see the benefits of installing games to it? As in would the existing WD blue still be causing a bottleneck?Any help with this would be appreciated!

Hi, I just got  Aspire V5-591G laptop and after some digging to check how is everything working i found out, that I cant get intel turbo boost technology to work. I tried checking it with programs like Argus Monitor/ CPU-Z and my processor frequency stats at 2.3 max. Of course I used software to put maximum pressure on my proccesor cores, nothing tells me Turbo Boost is working.I also noticed that in Task Manager -> Resource monitor my max CPU Frequency stays at 94% and wont move higher no matter what. Yes i use Maximum Performance power mode and i use Windows 8.1. Thx in advance!

Hi all,I purchased my laptop about two months ago, but recently, I've been having trackpad issues. The trackpad will be fine at times, but may become unresponsive, move super slowly, and at other times, jump around the screen, and register two or three fingers on the pad. I have looked at solutions in this forum. One popular method seemed to be to uninstall Intel Technology Access, but when I went through my programs, I saw no such thing. I've installed an updated trackpad driver for this model, but am still experiencing the same issues.Whenever I use my mouse, the tracking seems to be completely fine, so the issue seems to be completely isolated to the trackpad. I understand that I could always just use the mouse, but it would be nice to have a fucntioning trackpad as well. Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks!

My Acer Switch 10 does this too... i am fairly certain it is a hardware problem, and can't be fixed with drivers. If it is new, contact acer support, and they should fix it under warranty.

Hello, While playing games (SCII and CS:GO), computer randomly freezes 2-3 seconds. I noticed that at times while playing, some of the clocks drop to 0 MHz (Core #0, Bus, Uncore and PCIe). I'm not sure whether it's related or not. Drivers are up-to-date and computer runs on high performance mode.I play with the default medium settings on SCII, only the texture quality is to high. On CS:GO, all settings are set to the lowest. On both games i play on 1920x1080.This is very annoying and i don't know what to do. Hoping that someone can actually help me. (Check the minimum values. On this screenshot, i had switched back to the balanced mode, hence the lower current clocks values.)

Hey, Its been a while since this post but I have the same problem without a solution. Could someone acctually provide any information about this. The constant freezing doesn't make it gaming capable unfortunately. PS: Hoping for a solution which doesnt include switching laptops. Best regards, Mark

Hi, When I bought my Acer Aspire V15 Nitro, it had a keyboard backlight. I upgraded to Windows 10 and lost all the pre-installed software, and I can't get the backlight to turn on anymore. I've tried pressing Fn+F9, which is the only suggestion I've found online so far, and I can't find any missing drivers. Does anyone know how to solve this?

Is there a way to get ACER to add M.2 PCIe x4 NVMe SSD support for boot devices to a new Bios firmware update for the ACER ASPIRE VN7-591G so that we can use and boot from NVMe SSD's like "Samsung SSD 960 Pro Series NVMe MLC - M.2 2280"? The Intel chipset of the Acer Aspire VN7-591G should support it and it would be only a matter of adding support in the bios for it. Acer also added it to the VN7-592G after pressure from the community. It seemed to have taken a community invoked ban on Amazon to get them to add NVMe support, see: http://community.acer.com/t5/V-and-VN-Series-Laptops/Why-is-the-M2-PCIE-slot-speed-capped-to-1-5GBs-... There seems to be some project to manually add support to the bios .fd rom file yourself for motherboard with intel 6 / 9 series chipsets, but that seems to be directed at AMI Aptio UEFI BIOS and the ACER ASPIRE VN7-591G seems to have a Insyde BIOS: http://www.win-raid.com/t871f16-Guide-How-to-get-full-NVMe-support-for-Intel-Chipset-systems-from-Se...

Hi! I recently noticed some performance issues(lower fps) when playing semi-demanding games like CS:GO and Overwatch, even though using pretty much the lowest settings. I proceeded to download CPUID(software to monitor to your hardware) to check my temperatures and noticed that I reach low-to-high 90's(depending on game) when I play.I figured it could be dust or something inside so I removed the keyboard-part of the laptop and used some canned air to remove all the dust I could reach (without removing the motherboard). I also managed to get hold of a laptop cooling stand. The problem is that none of these efforts really solved the issue. Just a slightly lower temperature on the GPU and pretty much the same on the CPUs. I'm starting to wonder if it could be the thermal paste that have to be replaced? I've had the computer for a little over a year now. Anyone else experiencing similar issues? Help or tips would be appriecated!

I have a VN7-592G and I find this weird to see you have problems running something like CS:GO. I would consider overwatch to be more demanding than CS:GO.How old is your laptop? Did you try closing background applications and reducing graphic settings? Did it solve the problem? The temperature will get high while gaming which is why its recommended the vents are not blocked. As you have taken care of the vents cleaning, let me know what changing the settings does to the performance.
