Contacting a live person at Acer

Q: Contacting a live person at Acer

We purchased our laptop for $550.00 in May 2015. In July 2016, TWO months out of warranty it died. We have taken it to Staples and Best Buy to see if it could be repaired (both places charged us a fee to look at it) and if I recall were told it was the motherboard and would be costly to repair. I have attempted to reach a real person at Acer for over a month and continue to get sent to the warranty company (who will charge me for service) who today suggested I post on this board. I have called FOUR different numbers listed on their website and am either disconnected because the warranty is expired or get sent toThere was no abuse to the laptop, my boyfirend and I are the only ones who use it. I am saddened that a $550.00 laptop stops working 2 months out of warranty and I have no means to contact the company directly to address this issue and that after a month of calling and searching I am having to post on this blog in hopes someone will contact me.

Preferred Solution: Contacting a live person at Acer

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I am the mayor of a small city. We have monthly meetings. We are moving this month to 21st century and everyone will have laptops, with the city secretaries computer connected to projector. All laptops are Windows 7 Professional. They are all networked, w/ internet access, along with access to the city?s LAN.

If we wanted to be able to Instant Message, share our desktop w/ other members, share our desktop with the projector, what would our options be to use something free or out-of-the-box Windows to accomplish one or all of these? What about Windows Meeting Space?

Other dilemma. City Secretaries screen is shared with projector. What if I wanted to Instant Message the secretary, but don?t want message displayed on screen?

As a service Citrix's go2meeting.com

Can do all of the above plus record the meeting, have individual (or all chats) show desktops, etc. Can be used via VOIP (computer) a phone conference, and other media.

Free to try for 30 days. I use it elsewhere and it is a much better alternative than Skype.

This only happens to one person who emails me. I have them in my Windows Live Mail contact list with the correct email address. I have triple checked this.

When they send me an email and I hit reply (or even reply all) this bogus email address is plugged in at the top "[email protected]". I have no one in my contact list with this email address. This is not the senders email address. So why is this happening? Where is this email address coming from? If I let the email reply use this it comes back with some error.

What I have to do is delete this when it comes up when I do a reply and replace it with the correct address.....once again just for this one person. When I asked this contact about this they have no idea what I am talking about.

A:Live Mail Reply goes to Another Person

This is most probably because the sender has set up a different Reply-to address:

Ask sender to check what Reply-to address he / she is using.

To check and change a Microsoft email (applies to all Outlook.com, Hotmail.com, Live.com & MSN.com and respective .co.uk, .co.jp etc. email accounts) Reply-to address, log in to your Microsoft email web interface, click the Settings button in top right corner, left to your name, and select More email settings:

Hello Everyone

Is there a feature in Outlook where a whole department which receives emails daily (Accounting) can somehow organize themselves to show what each person is doing. Right now they are seeing the emails but not telling each-other what there doing and we think that some things might get missed. I had an idea of using the categories and changing the colours/names to each person in accounting. But that would make each staff members email extinct. I see an option called tasks in Outlook could there be a way of doing it in there? We are all using Outlook 2007 and running Exchange 2010.

A:Organizing emails for each person so we know what each person is doing

I hate to be cute(but can't resist), and this will bump your question back to the top of this list....But what your suggesting is the managers job(assign and track task). Outlook is not the place to manage your business.

I use ICQ a lot and really only chat with people who I know. It seems everytime I log on now there is somebody with a new number trying to contact me. They are people who say they know me but I am 100% sure they don't. They send messages and ask for authorization to be my friend. It seems as though it is maybe a handful of the same people who get new accounts..

MY question is are they just ICQ users who are being nuisance or are they hackers trying to get my personal information??

I have had problems with being infected with spyware in the past and I was wondering if that had anything to do with it?

some help would be appreciated....

A:Why On Icq Are Ppl Contacting Me?

You may want to check your profile and be sure your e-mail address and anyother personal info isn't showing. If ya don't know them either block them or just ignor them.
This is a form of phising and can lead to spaming or worse. A number of viruses are being spread thru IM.

I just tried to turn my wife's Acer ultrabook on to transfer some files to a storage disk in preparation for imaging it with Macrium...I suspect I may be too late and need to know if anyone can refer me to anyone that can retrieve data from this. I do not see the SSD drive orange LED (this is adjacent to the micro SD card slot) illuminate. I have tried the ac adapter and the can tell the battery is fully charged.

Any ideas? I was hoping I might be able to find a suitable live USB OS that might allow me to access the SSD. I think it is a Toshiba SSD...

Edit - I may be wrong regarding the SSD. I just tried a Live USB of a Linux distribution I have the the USB drive does not receive power. The power LED and the wireless LED illuminate when the laptop is turned on with battery power. No LEDs on the front edge () illuminate on battery power. On ac power the center battery LED illuminates before the laptop is turned on yet, the laptop responds in an identical manner to that of dc power. This seems more like a power or power distribution issue. Right?

I wouldn't object to doing this but I think they want me to set up a web site also, which I don't want. I can't find anyway to contact them personally to ask this question. Anyone here able to shed some light on this for me? They haven't deleted my files already in but I notice I get a lot of the red x's.

The red x's indicate dead links to graphics, so I would assume they have removed all your pics from your site. No idea how to contact them since they don't have a phone number listed. Look at your monthly statement.

I work a job where new people often come in for a few days and then I never see them again. I was recently going to ask a lucky lady who I met from work out but I choked.

I found her on Linkedin, though. I don't use the site but my understanding is that there's something that prevents you just contacting random people. Is this right? I just want to send a quick a message and include my email address. Is this possible? Another concern I had is that putting your email addresses in a message might get it automatically blocked. Might that be the case?

A:Contacting someone on Linkedin

No. You have the ability to 'ask her to join you "linkedin to your profile". You will be able to leave a brief message too. Whether she will accept it or not is another matter.

I've made a purchase on eBay as a guest, but now I need to contact the seller. eBay refused to deliver my contact e-mail, saying my account has been suspended. Their notification included a link to click on if I dispute this. But, the link takes me to the eBay login page, which refuses to recognise my username, even though it is on the e-mail they sent me. Wherever I go on their website to try to contact them, I just get referred back to the log-in page.
I have since tried to register with eBay but it declares my e-mail address invalid.

Is there any way I can contact eBay support without logging in?

A:Solved: Problem contacting eBay

Please see this page- sorry if you have already tried all that.

There are ways to reset your login information- you have to provide answers to some questions to verify your ID.

You would need to just check your email for the link they send so you can change your password. Or, there is a method so they can send you your user account name if that is forgotten /mistaken.....
Here's a page you get when you use Customer Support as a guest: (not signed in)

Two days ago IE started having problems connecting to some websites with an "HTTP 400 Bad Request" error. I started Fiddler to try to diagnose, and noticed the browser attempting to contact sichuans.ir with "/desire/startup.php?id=.." and later with "/desire/data.php..." and a sizeable payload.

sichuans.ir resolves to and is associated with NEVAL PE Nevedomskiy Alexey Alexeevich, which seems to be a very bad block.

I immediately added sichuans.ir to my hosts list pointing to, then saw the browser attempting connections to sichuans10.ir and sichuans20.ir, which do not resolve currently. Added those to hosts as well.

The attempted connections only occur when I start a browser, either IE or Firefox, and usually continue even after the browser is closed.

I did try uninstalling IE8 and reloading from MS site, no change in behavior.

Not sure if this is just an IE problem, but given the "phone home" activity seen, I think it looks like a trojan or something.

Any help appreciated. I do not have access to Windows install disks, sorry.

btw, one file caught my attention- \system32\odb.dll. It is a module being used by IE and Firefox, but does not seem to be a Windows file. I found nothing on this file via google, may be a randomly named dll?

Hi, I am using a PC (Windows XP) on a home network that is otherwise dominated by Macs, and it has been able to connect to the internet before, but it really only works when I do a full system restore where I reinstall windows and erase my HD and I'd rather not want to do this again, since I am tired of reinstalling all my crap.
Now as far as I can tell, the problem with the connection lies not in that the computer does not know how to connect to the internet, but rather that it doesn't know it is connected to the cable modem through a router. I think this because the IP address on the LAN connection is never one that all the other computers on the network have (- one that starts 192.168.1.x). I have tried a couple of times to use the network wizard, but it either says that there was an error configuring the network, or more often than not, it finishes, but the internet still doesn't work. Also, when I try to repair the connection, in the connection status window, it says it has a problem renewing the IP address, which does not work since it has problems contacting the DHCP server (I tried running "ipconfig/renew" in cmd.exe). Does anyone know how to get the computer to connect to the DHCP server?
I hope I have given enough background on the situation, if you need any more system info, please ask. Thanks in advance

I first noticed a problem when Trend Micro Officescan v10 popped up blocking access to websites and I didn't even have a browser open. I checked network connections and noticed my pc was trying to contact several IP addresses outside my network even when a browser wasn't open. Searches for the IP addresses yielded computers in Russia and other foreign countries. And while Trend Micro was blocking access to some of them, it did not look like it was blocking all of them. I ran Spybot S&D and Malware Bytes scans but they didn't fix the issue. Looking for some help. TIA.

So then i switch to Netscape, and it spends the first 10 minutes trying to contact "spui.nscanada.mercurial.ca" really annoying when it constantly pops up. If ollwed the directions here and hijacked my running systems. here is a log

I have just installed ZoneAlarm Free firewall and since installing SpySweeper keeps blocking connections to sites related to spyware, one of the sites was mypornmagpass.com even when all programs are closed, its so bad (30times per minute) that ive disabled that shield so it is now allowing the connections cos the popups were so annoying... now to be sure it was ZA i uninstalled it then all was fine so i re-installed it and it all started again, it doesnt even wait until ZA is launched...as soon as the install process reaches the end (before Vector service is started) SpySweeper starts blocking tons of connections... its as if ZA is installing and running something else thats making these connections...now i download ZA direct from there website... is ZoneAlarm Spyware free?

does anybody have any experience with this?

Does anyone have any experience dealing with ASUS customer support? I've got a P8P67 LE that won't post (it's also got the faulty 3GB SATA Intel bug and is eligible for the recall.)

Problem is, I can't get ahold of ASUS at all. I've filled out their online form for the recall using the mobo serial number, but when I try to look up the status on their status page it tells me my serial number/email is invalid. I can't register again because i'm already in the system. So I filled out a customer service request 10 days ago and haven't heard back. When I call I've been transferred around, disconnected and left messages that haven't been returned.

Anyone have any advice on how to get ahold of them? I've got a dead board, eligible for recall, and it's still under warranty.

I am running Windows 7, 64 Bit on a three-month old Toshiba laptop. Yesterday, I downloaded and ran Malwarebytes for the first time and it found two infected Trojan Agents - 1) the Svchost.exe file that is located at this location: c:/Windows and 2) an infected process Svchost.exe. Malwarebytes said it deleted the files, but on a reboot they were still active. I have the monitoring service of Malwarebytes turned on, and it displays a message (like every 10 seconds) that it has blocked an attempt to connect to an outside website with the address of or or a number of other sites. The notification said this was started by Svchost.exe. I have gone to the file location and delete the actual file (Svchost.exe), but it magically re-appears in about 10 seconds. When you hover over the name, it shows the file description as "winrscmde". I then opened the task manager and found the offending process (it had the same Winrscmde name)and ended this process - it stopped the notifications that I was contacting an outside website. But I am sure that there is something still going on inside my machine that isn't right!

I am not sure if it is related, but I have been having troubles with Google redirection to unknown wensites, too.

Any help you can offer will be most appreciated! Thank you!

Our home network consists of two computers running the version of Windows XP pro. Our HP officejet printer is connected to my computer and contacted via router by the other computer. A couple of days ago, I reformatted my hard drive (was getting repetitive windows explorer crashes). Computer runs fine now and prints to printer, but now the other computer can't connect with mine to send print jobs to printer. I reran the network connection wizard, enabled print and file sharing on both computers, bit when I bring up My Network Places I can see the workgroup but only my computer and the router come up. Likewise, the other computer cannot see mine. Any ideas???

Hello iamfablazI would like to welcome you to the Malware Removal section of the forum.Around here they call me Gringo and I will be glad to help you with your malware problems.Very Important --> Please read this post completely, I have spent my time to put together somethings for you to keep in mind while I am helping you to make things go easier, faster and smoother for both of us!Please do not run any tools unless instructed to do so.We ask you to run different tools in a specific order to ensure the malware is completely removed from your machine, and running any additional tools may detect false positives, interfere with our tools, or cause unforeseen damage or system instability. Please do not attach logs or use code boxes, just copy and paste the text.Due to the high volume of logs we receive it helps to receive everything in the same format, and code boxes make the logs very difficult to read. Hey guys,

I setup a mail server using the free hMailServer (Mail Transfer Agent). I managed to set everything up to work. Except one problem:

I can't access my mail server on port 25 from outside the network nor can I access other mail servers on port 25 from my network. It looks like it's not specific to my mail server as I have tried running listening on port 25 on a different computer but still can't seem to get a response from that port when doing a ping from the outside.

All my other ports work perfectly, everything is forwarded properly and the firewall is allowing connections.

I have spoken to my ISP countless times and they keep telling me that they do not block port 25 (both inbound and outbound).

But when I try to telnet a server such as hotmail, gmail and other ones on port 25 outside of my network I get a connection timeout and the samething happens when I try to telnet from the outside to my server on port 25.
BUT when I telnet to my ISP's port 25 from within my network then it successfully connects.

That brings me to the conclusion that my ISP is blocking the port.

So in conclusion, I am able to relay outgoing emails through my ISP's port 25 but not straight from my server to another server. And incoming emails do not work at all because other mail servers get a connection timeout when trying to connect to my port 25.

Do you guys have any suggestions because I have exhausted myself with this port 25 issue.

This is a D630 newly formatted Dell laptop and the user has had it about a month. Yesterday she noted that opening any Office 2007 program (but particularly Word) was very slow. I checked it out, and noted that in the bottom left of the Word document, when first opening Word it said " Contacting C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office..... for information

Outlook said the same thing.

Other users that started at the same time as she did and using the same model of laptop (and same image on the laptop) are fine and not experiencing this problem.

I disabled antivirus and all add ons, no change.
I ran diagnostics, which found one issue (that it did not name) that it said it fixed, but no change
I took out the printer drivers, no change
I repaired office, no change
I checked for any recent updates, nothing since June 19th. She has the latest Office updates (inc SP2)
I checked she didn't have something strange in the TCP/IP bindings.

Anybody have some idea?

We've often got the following error when we try to access to our internal web site from our workstations with Internet Explorer since a couple weeks ago.

When we try to access to the same web site with Google Chrome, it can access with no problem.

I have confirmed Internet Explorer setting on client workstation, and all TLS are enabled by group policy as follows.

I have also confirmed TLS configuration on registry keys of the web server, and TLS 1.1 and TLS 1.2 are both enabled. (TLS 1.0 are disabled to follow our security rule.)

I contacted to the web server administrator, but he said he did not make any configuration change on his web server, and it should be something wrong on Internet Explorer configuration or network issue.
One thing I found during troubleshooting is whenever I execute command ipconfig /flushdns with PowerShell, it can connect to the web site.

However that connection error is coming back soon such as 30 mins or a couple of hours later.  This does not fix the cause of the problem.

I've confirmed to ping and nslookup to the DNS servers, the web server, proxy server, and DHCP server from my client workstation during the connection error, but they are all good without showing any error.
Please advise me if there is any configuration I should check on this matter. Any advise will be gratefully appreciated.

Here are information of our environment.
