Yoga 910 manufacturing date

Q: Yoga 910 manufacturing date

Hello, Please check the attached picture. What does this date dictate? The manufacturing date of what? The case? The whole pc? Or something else completely? How is this possible, 4 years back for a newly purchased laptop? What is the date in your Yoga if you have a 910? CheersGeorge

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I had my old ulta book die last night and am looking at the new yogas as a replacement. I saw the new 920 is releasing in October and I would really like to wait. Anyone know (or have a guess) exactly when the 920 is being released? I'm without a computer atm but I can do without for 10ish days until October if the 920 is released at the beginning. However if it will be a few weeks into October I'm not sure I can wait.

I have the Yoga Pro 3 with the Intel M-5y71 processor. I have been having some small issues with lag and stuttering during use. I was looking over some device drivers and noticed that my processor drivers are a generic Microsoft driver from 4/21/2009 (ver. 10.0.14986.1000). I"m running Win10 and I can't imagine the the best driver for this 2015 laptop is from 2009, 6 years older than when the computer was released. I looked for an update and found that there is a M-5y71 driver from 8/12/16 (ver. 15.40.28.45.01) but I can't seem to install it, I just get an error saying it's not the right device. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

Hey, I'm pretty good with PC stuff, but this one has me boggled... I just got my beautiful Yoga 720 and all is well (although I was surprised at NO HDMI!!).... I have version 1703, the Creators Edition I believe, but yet when I try to log in to Skype, I cannot because it says I still have the Skype Preview version. Apparently, somehow, this laptop did not have the proper Skype version, still using the preview when it should not have the preview.... therefore I cannot login. Yes, I tried all the normal troubleshooting stuff. Windows is 100% completely up-to-date....  So how do I fix this? Thanks,David

Hello, I use online accounting software (KashFlow) and part of entering invoices involves clicking into a date input field.  It is one of those where a little calendar shows when you click into the field.  You can also manually type a date into this field too. However. On my brand new Yoga 920 using Chrome and Firefox the date input fields are greyed out and a red 'no access' icon shows when you hover over them.  But you can still click it and the calendar pops up as normal.  The only difference is you can NOT type into them anymore. When the source for the page is viewed it looks like the fields have been designated 'readonly'. There is no such problem on any other computer I own, even when using Chrome or Firefox.  The date fields work perfectly well on these other computers - even on a Sony Xperia tablet I own. The only browser that works properly on my Yoga is Edge.  The date fields work as they should.  It's just Chrome (my main browser) and Firefox where they don't work. This seems like a Lenovo-based problem.  A little Google has revealed a couple of similar problems with other Lenovo users. Does anyone have any clue on how to fix this?  This is utterly bizarre behaviour and it's preventing me from working properly. I have attached a photo showing the problem when using Chrome.  These fields should never be greyed out. Thanks,Matt

Hi, the bending machine of our manufacturing company has stopped working. Upon start up, it creates a DMP file and restarts (and then does that over and over again). I don't know how to open and read DMP files for diagnostics so I'm going to send one in. The PC is an old PC that runs on windows 2000. It is a Contec IPC-BX/M630 PCI C3. No hardware was changed prior to the issue and the hard drive files have been completely recovered as the hard drive seems fine. I would simply like to know what the issue is and I think the answer is here. If any other information is needed, please let me know. The DMP file is attached. Thanks in advance.

A:BSOD on manufacturing pc. DMP files available

Hi Daykiss

The dumps does point to a Bugcheck 1E with a C00005 error ie; a memory access voilation error... so the first thing i would do is to check the memory... As far as i understand the Contec IP BX/M630 PCI C3 comes with a single 256MB SO-DIMM-PC133 as standard... and the system is only expandable up to 2 x 256MB....

so you would first need to open the cabinet and clean the interiors with an air blower or aircan and clean the RAM or RAM's

Secondly if after doing that you still get the BSOD loop... then try removing the RAM and putting in a new one ... i not sure if you can still get these RAM's now.... looks like these machines were made between 2002 to 2008

Let me know.. if you are able to get to Safe mode without BSOD ?

Hi
Recently we have bought XPS 13 2-in-1 (XPS 9365) with Qhd Touch display, 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD with 4 years of Premium Support and 4 years of Accidental Damage warranty.
after placing order it took 30 days to delivered by Dell, and sadly the product was having manufacturing defects. The system was not properly aligned and screen was flickering automatically, after connecting with dell Tech Support and so many troubleshoot and mails, you cant imagine such a system with unboxing, after that they moved me to Whole Unit replacement Team, But again WUR dont have the the same system which i have ordered. I have ordered the system with 16Gb ram and 512Gb SSD, but WUR team is offering me lower version of system i.e. with 8GB ram and 256 GB ssd for the price i have paid. also they are not ready to refund my amount. So I am moving to consumer court for the same.
This is happened with me when i bought highest possible tech specification system with 4 years of Premium Support and Accidental Warranty by paying 174000 INR. Its my suggestion please don't buy Dell laptop.

A:Manufacturing Defect in Dell XPS 13 2-in-1 9365

I'm a big fan of Dell, and really won't buy anything else. I've had my share of problems though and the most recent was with an Alienware purchase. They replaced 3 of them for what sounds like the same problem you are having. What's bad about it, at least what was the case with mine and after getting a 4th system with the exact same problem, all it was, what I suspect was a faulty driver on their installation master. What I did was uninstalled the Intel Graphics Driver from the device manager and then reinstalled it. No more flicker. In the earlier days of Windows 10, that was a common problem on not just Dell's, but others as well.

Greetings,I recevently received a Thinkpad 13 intended for small office use.  However, when I inspected the hardware, I discovered a problem at the bottom left corner of the keyboard (pictures below).??As you can see, the corner of the keyboard base is bulging upward.  It very clearly should not be this way, as the other corner is flush with the edge of the chassis (picture below). ??So, I tried to wiggle the corner down into place, but it did no good.  I don't want to have to send it back (I just got it, and need to use it), but I certainly don't want damage or poor quality control to be ignored.Does anyone know if I can fix this myself?  If not, what is the best way to inform Lenovo of this problem?Cheers,

Are different capacity (128 GB vs 256 GB) more expensive to manufacture? If so, why? How do these costs change depending on the type of storage, like Flash Drive vs SSD vs HDD, and for what reasons?

I realize larger drives will generally be PRICED higher simply because more space = better (generally), better = higher demand, higher demand = people willing to pay more. But are there MANUFACTURING/MATERIALS cost differences between the two and if so, what components/labor/manufacturing processes bring these about? Obviously HDDs have some rare materials, like Neodymium, but this would be present in roughly the same quantity regardless of HD capacity (provided drive physical dimensions stay the same, which they generally do).

A:Manufacturing costs of storage drives

Unless someone on our forum is a manufacture of such items, I don't think we can give you a exact answer.
With any product things like demand, materials, labor, market place competition, shipping, storage, advertising and many more have bearing on the cost.

Intel will spend over a Billion dollars to have a plant constructed just to make cpu chips.

I WOULD LIKE TO BRING THIS TO YOUR NOTICE!!!

tHE CR RANGE'S CLICK BUTTON(THE LEFT ONE) HAS A PROBLEM.

if one checks various laptops of the shelf of similar make(cr range) and clicks the left click button(below the touch pad)....you will find inconsistency among all the models....the problem lies in shallow click, especially towards the left hand bottom corner of the left click button

again this is more prominent in laptops of cr range with finger print scanner in between the two click buttons........manufacturing flaw i guess.....

the problem is present in my new laptop(cr 24 black colour)......i got a ridiculous explanation at the service center saying that , " you should be clicking at the centre of the click button and not in the left bottom corner of the click button!!!"....though the right side click button works fine in any area !!!!!!

this seems to be in line with a similar glitch found in vaio laptop...wherein the space bar doesnt respond towards the extreme left side...this has been well documented in you tube video aswell!!!!!!

www.youtube.com/watch?v=H8s0qTjNFKQ

sony seems to be launching expensive products without any proper testing!!!!

ps. the click seems to be softter at the mentioned zone and varies from laptop to laptop of the same model....i foresee the failure of the click button after few months of useage....if the state is such in a brand new laptop!!!

I have bought a new Dell motherboard  (OCT103) for Dimension E521.
I have received the motherboard, screwed into computer and all works
very well. But....

The motherboard was delivered with activated manufacturing mode. Now I
have the problem, that the systems stays in manufacturing mode though I
have entered the new servicetag number already many times. I have booted
my computer many times but there is no chance to boot in normal mode.
There always is a message at end of boot, that "system is operating
in manufacturing mode. Press ALT+ F to operate in normal mode". Pressing
ALT+F at this moment deletes the servicetag in BIOS again and all
settings are reset. Is this normal way ?

On Dell homepage I found the information, that I have to boot into BIOS
setup and there press ALT+F in main setup to deactivate the
manufacturing mode. But when I press these buttons I got a beep, nothing
more.

Please can you tell me how to deactivate this mode properly and permanent.

Thanks for an answer

A:Replacement Motherboard and cannot turn off manufacturing mode with ALT+F

Hi,
I recently got a renewed machine (inspiron 660s) from dell.
The start-up screen always shows "manufacturing mode", even after I entered the service tag.
I tried many keys to try to switch back to normal mode but did not work out.
Finally, I pressed "Load Defaults" on the Exit Menu and then Exit BIOS setting.
Everything became normal then. A Dell Logo appeared on start-up. (Afterwards of course I can change any settings :)
Hope this help!!

Just received my second ZBook 15 G3 (Xeon) with a manufacturing fault on the silver metal trim. The fault shows up as a 'dent' visible to eye and under the fingers. I'm assuming this is a bad batch and HP didn't intend to put 'second grade' units into the market as perfect. Of course, it doesn't affect performance, just the resale value - but it's annoying nevertheless to pay top dollar for a machine with such an obvious manufacturing flaw - and beyond disappointing to recieve two with the same fault. Anyone else pissed off with metal trims with dents in them? or is it just me with all the good luck?! I sent the first one back to the retailer - now waiting to see what HP are going to do about the second one.

I've been working in computer retail bushiness ( as a promoter ) and i've been told that dell started manufacturing it's own unique motherboards an memories ( Ram, HDD..etc)is that correct ??I really need answers because the customer deserves to have accurate information about the device he's buying (misleading information is a crime ) and I also do not want to compromise my credibility .

A:Did DELL start manufacturing their own motherboards and memories ??

Dell does not manufacture either system boards or memory.  They do what everyone else does - contract the manufacture to the big ODMs  (in notebooks, those are Quanta, Compal, Wistron, Pegatron and a couple of others).
Notebook boards are proprietary to the system -- and it's becoming increasingly common for memory to be soldered onto the mainboard rather than installed as a replaceable module.  That's true not only for Dell, but for all notebook systems.
