iframe subdomain won't display in any browser

Q: iframe subdomain won't display in any browser

This baffles me. It happens on my Win7 x64 tower installation, but not on my Win 7 x64 laptop ? same browsers, same settings in CP | Internet Options. It's the <iframe>s at beforeitsnews.com. On my tower machine, I see all their <iframe> URLs returningUnable to connect
Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at ox-d.beforeitsnews.com.

The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Nightly is permitted to access the Web.
and disrupting page flow. The laptop's accessing the Internet via wireless, the tower via wired networking. I'm a techie, but not too swift on Web stuff. Suggestions? Thanks!

Preferred Solution: iframe subdomain won't display in any browser

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A: iframe subdomain won't display in any browser

That's what caused the problem. I un-readonlyed and commented out all the lines Macecraft'd put in there that pointed to 127.0.0.1 (localhost), and the problems went away.

All,

I am running ASP.NET application using IE 7.0.
I have Home page ,which composes of few links to other pages and also a breadcrum links on top of home page.Home page is desgined in such a way that we are using iframe in home page html under which different pages are loaded.

when user clicks on different links we are loading different pages inside iframe within home page..and also at the same time we are change the breadcrum appropriately...E.g. on click of 'Page1' link ,we load page1 inside iframe and also in breadcrum it will show as "Home\Page1" ....now user click on Page2 link..now we load 'Page2' in iframe... and breadcrum will show as "Home\Page2"....Now user user 'back button' of browser, now browser will load 'Page1' in frame but breadcrum is still showing "Home\Page2"...
My query is breadcrum should also have been Changed which is part of home page.
As of my knowledge when we use 'Browser Back' button, page will loaded from broswer history cache.Back button hit will never executes any code written in Asp.net aspx page. This is purely browser caching issue.

I assum broswer might be storing only iframe content (storing entire home page) in browser history cache.... So hence retireving only iframe content...

If my assmuption is correct if u have understood my problem correctly ...Could some one help me solve this problem.

Hey, not quite sure how to explain this,
but if im supporting one of my friends computers via RDP using his ip 81.x.x.x, i have to check my email each time because i can't remember it...

I have a Windows 2003 Server linked to my domain, domain.com.

is there a way i can put, something like john.domain.com into RDP and it will recognise that as 81.x.x.x?

I thought of using DNS to create a record but not sure which i need/should use?

Does anybody understand what i'm looking for, and even better know how to do it?

Would be great if you could!!

Thank you!

Hello,

Can someone tell me how to create a subdomain? We currently have a domain.

Here's what I'm trying to do:
We are hosting a website with pictures (images) on a server but in order to server those pictures online I need to create a subdomain and link it to the images server. On what serverdo I create the subdomain? I'm guessing on the primary domain server and enter the IP address to the Imager server (the one with the pictures).

How do I do this, now I never done this before so I need step by step intructions.
Thanks,

Hi,

I've registered a domain through lcn.com, previously I've just modified the nameservers to point to a shared hosting account.

I'd like to know how to keep www.domain.com pointing to this shared hosting account and create a subdomain my.domain.com which points to a new dedicated server of which I have the ip address.

I believe I have to add an (A) address record on my lcn account, I have hostname and ip address fields here, could anyone help me out and tell me how to set this up?

Thanks

Hi guys!

I have question regarding when to use subdomain and when to use A record under main domain?

e.g. I have main domain ABCD.com. I want to create record EFGH.ABCD.com that points to IP address 1.2.3.4. From my point of view I have to options:

1) Create host A record under main domain ABCD.com that points to the IP address 1.2.3.4 - host (A) record EFGH.ABCD.com=>1.2.3.4

2) Create EFGH as subdomain of main domain ABCD.com and then under that subdomain create host A record (without Name field) that points to IP address 1.2.3.4

If I create EFGH record as subdomain of main domain ABCD.com I can have separate MX, NS, SOA... records but if I create my record as host A record under main domain then MX, NS, SOA records from main domain are used.

The question is when to use records as host A records and when to use it as subdomain of a main domain?

Thanks!

If I disable "search from address bar" in IE9, attempting to visit http://uncg.edu results in a 404 error. The University of North Carolina at Greensboro, however, works fine. I can omit the subdomain from some websites (such as http://sevenforums.com), but others simply won't allow me to. Also, http://uncg.edu simply opens a search engine if I have "search from address bar" enabled.

A:Any way to force IE9 to assume a subdomain?

I think that it depends on what data is stored by DNS servers for that address. This in turn depends on the information provided to them by webmasters. Perhaps John (z3r010) might be the one to ask here, as all 3 of his sites exhibit this behaviour.

There are some Japanese flash game websites on a domain called web.fc2.com. I can access some but not others, getting a timeout error.

I can't get to ancho.web.fc2.com and detarou.web.fc2.com . I can get to pi3141592c147.web.fc2.com and yoinouchi.web.fc2.com . I've pinged all four and get very similar results - I know 'similar' is not 'exact' but I am not techy enough to read/understand ping results.

A possibly relevant pair of messages I get from pinging via dnsstuff.com are
- The destination appears to block unwanted UDP packets.
- There appears to be a firewall at <ip address> (hop 1) that blocks unwanted TCP packets.

Both my windows xp and my ubuntu box have the same problem, so it's not a hosts file issue or a system based blocking software. Might be my router?

Thank you...

I'm at the "manage dns settings" at network solutions and I see where I can create a subdomain, but it requires that a subdomain point to a numeric IP... I would like my subdomain "lostandfound.mervisdiamond.com" to point to "mervisdiamond.com/found" What numeric IP should I use in this case? Clearly I can't use the generic IP for the site.

Alternatively, I have no problem with the entire Lost and Found actually hosted at the subdomain. In this case how can I move the directory of code to the subdomain, and not in the folder mervisdiamond.com/found

This is my first time posting here and I would really appreciate the help. Thanks!

I think I have to make an A record on my DNS server, except what do I have to add to my conf file?

I had to reformat & reinstall XP at home. Now, when I browse the web, I notice that if I type "www.google.com" I get a "page cannot be displayed" error but if I type "google.com" it goes right to the site with no problem.

Google is just an example, it seems to be random (not all pages do this) and I don't have a problem once the page is cached.

Anyone know why this is happening?

A:Bizarre question about the "www" subdomain

Not all serrvers have a WWW in their address so, if you put it in the browser can't go to that address. Just like dialing a correct/incorrect phone number that's been disconnected.

I know ads aren't what people want, neither do i, but there's a problem I have with my I.E. 6

-PROBLEM: Most of the websites I visit on the internet, like nba.com, etc. display banners on top of their page usually. My browser won't view them, either my security level is high or something. And When I press the back button to go back to the previous page I wanted to go back to, it just stays at the same page and tries to reload the ad at the top of the page that didn't get loaded. Basically the ads are buggin me in a different way, in which when it doesn't display, it acts as a page load, so when I press my back button it just stays on the same page trying to reload the ad.

Your system is not capable of displaying the full results of this report. The ability of your browser to execute Java script has been blocked which prevents the report results from being displayed. Check your browser setting to see if the settings are the cause of this problem.

Hi,

Recently my IE8 browser is realy slow when loading some pages...notibly ones with video. I also get a "internet explorer can not display this webpage" when using the back button. It then will cycle between the can not display and the previous page. Im pretty sure this not a change in settings. This system is intel quadcore should not have any problems with loading pages. No know changes in internet service.

one other thing. I now have to click 2 times in Yahoo mail to see my email in my inbox. It also take multiple clicks on "new message" or "reply" to get those to work. Again this is all new.

Thanks in advance for taking the time to help with this issue.

I have posted in another thread but apparently my question is way to difficult to answer, so lets try this one.
I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro 4200, Windows XP. Was bout used. Every web browser I download does the same exact thing.
Google Chrome symptoms:
-Started with Application failed to intialize 0000x00005, End Process
-Read forums discovered to put in no sandbox in properties>Target
-Runs fast and perfect then it starts to do the following:
- Cannot display page. Make sure words are spelled correctly
-Have to refresh page about five times before it will even direct me to my destinatiion
-Won't load pages, won't play music.
-IE does the same thing, will not load page. If it does it takes fffffoooooorrrreeeevvvveeerrr!!!!
Checked proxy settings and just the basics that I know to check like firewall and all that. I turned off the firewall, unchecked the box use a proxy server. I deleted and IE started to load a little bit better, but IE sucks completley, so I still have a problem
I tried to restore my computer, didn't fix the internet problem at all.

I then download Opera.
It works perfect, no problems. Then it starts doing the same thing.

For example, when I go to yahoo.com, the yahoo logo doesn't appear and all the menu items along the left side "sports, email, news, weather..." are in just plain blue text where normally they would be accompanied by a picture and additional slide out menu when moused over. That said, the flash ads on the site seem to work and flash and java are fully updated. When the problem started, I downloaded Chrome which seems to display perfectly.

So, the problem is only with IE and Firefox. I have tried clearing out all the temps and cookies, retoring to default setting and even running firefox in safe mode but nothing seems to work. I have seen 2 other older posts on this forum with the same issue but they were closed with no responses. I will try to post some screenshots later today but if anyone has any suggestions please let me know.

Thanks in advance for your help.

OK - This is what Yahoo! looks like in both IE8 and FF. Yahoo is just an example, all pages display incorrectly in these 2 browsers but everything works great in Chrome.

On my site, I have darkish colors; blue, grayish-black, etc. But I have an IFRAME of a page from another site, which has white background and black text, so it doesnt fit in with my page. I already have the CSS for my page colors, can I apply this to the Iframe, or is there another way I can change its background color?

Since the Iframed page is on someone else's site, I can not modify that file itself. And many of you will probably tell me an iframe is not good to use in page design, I have decided its the best way to accomplish what I want.

A:Formatting an IFRAME

if you know this person and they're okay with you mirroring their site, you could ask them to use DIV id's and SPAN id's and set their tags to CSS id's that you know of, then name your CSS id's the same. you'd have to put a LINK REL tag in the HEAD and both you and the person who owns the site would need to have it point to CSS in the main directory with the same file name. everything would have to correlate.

Hello Gracious Help,I run XP Pro on a Pentium 4, 3ghz (Dell GX270).3 days ago, I had my Firefox browser open, but had not used it or been at the puter for about 5 hours. When I sat down at the puter, there were perhaps 10 Avast warning pop-ups within about 15 mins - that said that it had blocked me from opening a malicious site. The trouble was, I was not trying to open any sites at this time. Two of the sites it specified were a beastiality site and a zoo site - neither of which I have ever been to.Avast seemed to block my browser from opening these sites, but my question is - what was directing my browser to go to them in the first place? The Avast warning said that the virus (or malware) that it was protecting me from was HTML:Iframe-infA web search came up with a few complex suggestions on how to rid of fix this problem, but all were too complex for me to follow. The hijacking or redirecting (or whatever it was) has not happened again since. I have had no further Avast warnings over the last 2 days. I first looked for help from the Avast website, and spoke to an IYogi support rep on the phone (whose number I got from the Avast website). He took remote control of my puter, checked my registry and said he could help if I bought a $186.00 support pkge (that provided support for 6 months). In retrospect, the "Help for Avast Free" phone number is just a marketing ploy to sell support packages. I just hope the guy did not add spyware or key loggers (or such... Read more

Hello again,

Today I had the same problem again. When Avast kept giving me warnings and notifications that it has protected me from going onto malicious websites (even when I wasn't surfing), I pushed "More Info" button on the Avast pop-up, which took me to the Avast webpages that explained more about the infection (and attempted browser hijackings or re-direction, or whatever it is).

I did this for two Avast warning pop-ups (that tried to take me to two different malicious sites). Below are the URL's to the two Avast webpages that opened, when I clicked the "more info" button on the warning pop-up:

ok.... so what i want to do is have an iframe over top of an image (which i have figured out), but then, i want that iframe to have a lower opacity so that you can kind of see the picture that the iframe is over top of. i've read a ton of stuff about transparency and opacity and i've tried a few different things, none seem to work though. i've been able to change the opacity of the iframe fine, but rather than having my image come through, the bg color (which is black) comes through.

please help and thanks in advance

carson

ps - think of it like a layer in photoshop where you can just change the opacity to have the layer behind it show through.

A:Need help with iframe opacity...

well I am not too sure, but I think you would have to change the alpha opacity in the code for the page within the iframe. So if your iframe is linkted to "pagename.htm" then you have to use alpha opacity on the "pagename.htm" page, as opposed to the page including the iframe. However, I may be way off track on this one! This is all I can offer is an idea...

Avast antivirus is reporting that a number of files have been infected with a trojan called "IFrame-HW [Trj]". It seems to move around to different files, I use Windows Vista and some of the files infected are in hidden folders which I can no longer seem to access. Also, when I tell Avast to move the files to it's chest or to delete they just seem to come right back, sometimes immediately. I'm not sure what effect it is having on my pc, except Mozilla Firefox will no longer function on my pc, I can only browse the net with IE or Opera.
I have also tried using Cyberscrub to clear my free space after deleting infected files, but when I do so I get constant reports of the infection from Avast and Cyberscrub stops responding.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Pardon me... I left out the fact that it also seems to have disabled the protective mode of IE, leaving it vulnerable.Hello nu2cpu,We ask that once you have posted your log and are waiting, please DO NOT "bump" your thread or make further replies until it has been responded to by a member of the HJT Team. The reason we ask this or do not respond to your requests is because that would remove you from the active queue that Techs and Staff have access to. The malware staff checks the forum for postings that have 0 replies as this makes it easier for them to identify those who have not been helped. If you post another response, there will be 1 reply. A team member, looking for a new log to work may assume another HJT Team member is already assisting you and not open the thread to respond. That is why I have made an edit to your last post, instead of a reply. Please do not multiple post here, as that only pushes you further down the queue and causes confusion to the staff. Please be patient. It may take a while to get a response but your log will be reviewed and answered as soon as possible.Thank you for understanding.Regards,The weatherman (Moderator)

In the last week, my computer has started having issues and restarting randomly.  When I try to maximize some videos on youtube, occasionally the video will only cover 1/3 of the screen and immediately freeze.  Avast said everything was good, but I tried a boot scan anyway; it would pop up and identify some infected files, but when I told it to fix them, it would say those files are no longer there.  I can't find the text file that avast apparently made, but I do remember clickjacker and a frame flashing across the screen.  I'd appreciate any help you could give in clearing this up.
