I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

A: USB Imaging Device, windows was unable to locate driver for this device..whats this m

At some stage recently you have placed a new scanner/digital camera, or the likes of, in your computer. Windows hasn't been able to apply a driver to that device and so it asks you if you want to connect to the internet to try and find a matching driver on the microsoft web site. The problem is easily solved. If you still have the device connected and plan on using it, then grab the CD that came with it and follow the installation instructions on it. If you don't have it connected then go back to the 'my computer' 'properties' into 'device manager'. In there disable the imaging device that has the yellow ! next to it. And hopefully next time you restart, no more problem.

I have been having an issue with my flash drive being recognized by my laptop computer. When I initially start up my computer, it reads my flash drive. If I take out my flash drive and reinsert it, it no longer reads it. (It still makes the sound the the
computer recognizes it was inserted, but it won't open the drive.) When I go into device manger, it has that yellow exclamation point with this message, "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware because a previous instance of the device
driver is still in memory. (Code 38)". My cordless mouse has been working just fine.
I did troubleshooting and it told me to restart the computer. That helps for the first time, but then when I reinsert the flash drive , the problem happens again.
I tried to uninstall the hubs and reinstall but that also doesn't seem to be helping.
Any ideas?

Thanks

Hello: Windows 7 cannot locate drivers for bluetooth headphones. Any suggestions? Thank you.

A:Windows 7 cannot locate bluetooth drivers for device

Hello jkhr,  You can read the instructions that came with the Bluetooth device, there may be special requirements or software that needs to be installed. Also you can consult the device manufacturer's web site for software updates and information. Make sure the device you are trying to connect is compatible with Windows 7. Here some tips for headphones, headsets, or speakers:If your speakers, headphones or headset appears in Windows, but you can't hear them, set them as the default playback devices in Windows sound properties for speakers (and microphone).Unpair or disconnect other paired devices if more than one Bluetooth device is connected.Any other questions please let me know.

I am using Win 2000 sp4, a D-Link 530 something network card (yeah, that's not very helpful, but that's all I can remember), a 1 Ghz P3, 320 megs ram. A tech at my cable internet provider suggested reinstalling the drivers when my connection stopped working. The card is only a few months old, so I doubt it's a hardware problem (but you never know....) Thanks for any help you can offer.

I am tying to sync my Samsung Galaxy J7Sky Pro phone with my computer using Samsung Smart Switch Program.
When I start the Smart Switch Program and plug in the USB cable from the phone to the computer USB port, the device driver for the phone does not install properly or recognize the phone, as depicted by a yellow exclaimation point for the Galaxy J7 Sky Pro
device driver and AMDA00 interface under system devices.
I tried reinstalling the Samsung phone device driver but still get the above exclaimation for these drivers.
I then shut down and restarted the Samsung phone and the drivers reinstalled properly and the Smart Switch Program worked.

My issue is that the next time I restarted my computer, I get the same device driver errors.
Is there some way to prevent having to restart and reinstall the device drivers each time I want to sync my phone using the Smart Switch program?
Same issue used to happen with my Samsung Galaxy SIII phone, before I upgraded to the Samsung Galaxy J7 Sky Pro.
It is a real pain in the neck and time waster.

The AUDIO FADE PROBLEM is an issue with this laptop and I am wondering if it is related to the above.
I have upgraded to the latest BIOS and drivers using the Dell Product Support pages.
Every other day I have to reinstall the Realtek Audio Device to get audio from streaming media.
The current Driver Version is 6.0.1.7908 from Realtek Semiconductor Corp. Date 12/08/2016 which is what it defaults to upon reinstall.
I suspect that for whatever reason Dell has not yet come up with a fix. Has it something to do with the fact that although I bought the laptop new, it had been upgraded from Windows 8 to 10? (A fact that I only discovered later)

On my X1 Extreme (20MF000CUS) I recently noticed that when I open the Windows 10 Device Manager the list of devices keeps refreshing, like a new hardware scan is being forced every 2-3 seconds. I started disabling all the devices one by one and I finally narrowed down the culprit: USB Connect Managers -> UCM-UCSI ACPI Device  (Hardware Id: ACPI\VEN_USB&DEV_C000) This device, when active, keeps appearing and disappearing from the device manager tree forcing a refresh every few seconds. And it only happens when my Lenovo Thunderbolt Dock (40AN0230US) is connected. When I disconnect the dock the driver stops disappearing and becomes stable. Opening the driver Properties -> Details I get: Status: 01802400 (DN_HAS_PROBLEM)Problem code: 00000016 Any idea what is going on?

Hello!

So I did some searching for a way to fix this problem but I believe that my problem is different than the Bluetooth Peripheral Device problem that most people have.

I am NOT trying to connect a cell phone to my laptop. I am not trying to connect anything I don't think (unless my bluetooth mouse counts?).

I have no idea what a Bluetooth Peripheral Device is. I took some screenshots of the messages I receive every time a wake my computer up or turn it on. (1st, smaller picture)

It tries to update a driver but always fails and gives me this. (2nd, larger picture)

The suggestion my laptop gives me is this

There may be an easy solution to this, but I feel really lost right now.

The audio logo has a red X through it and only the bluetooth headphones drivers appear in device manager. Any ideas what might be the issue and how to solve them?

Not sure which forum category I should use, thus using software (for Driver Problems).  Various times to fix a device you can go into Device Manager  and uninstall the driver, go to top of page click on Actions and click on Search For New Devices.  I am under the impression this will uninstall the device driver, then reinstall the exact same driver (code).  Why does this work?  It appears that the exact same code is now reinstalled and many times fixes a problem.  I have used this technique on mouse driver, internet driver, keyboard driver.  THis is a good and easy first process to try and make a quick fix.

Again, I am just trying to figure out why it works - I know I am missing something.  As an ex-programmer trying to figure out why the same code now will work when it had stopped working.

Why or under what circumstances does the driver code stop working, and then why does a reinstall of it at times lets it start working again.

Hey guys,
I'm having problems with the Synpatics Touchpad driver. When I install it, it works great (except for the left-edge-swipe but that's a known problem) but after some time using it, I will eventually get this error. Every single time I installed this driver, I get the error a few days later. When I choose to uninstall it and reboot, my touchpad and keyboard don't work so it uninstalled the whole driver and didn't even use generic Windows 8 touchpad drivers. Then I have to plug in an external mouse for me to be able to reinstall the driver from my desktop. Then I reboot and everything works again but eventually I will get the error again. Now I got the error again and I'm sick of it! Is there a way to fix it? I downloaded the driver from here Drivers | Synaptics and I choose the first one for Windows 8. I know that using HP drivers for my laptop (HP Pavilion DV7-1130eg) could be a better option but they are from 2009 or so, and they don't have the edge swipe gestures for Windows 8 (that lower the pain of the UI-formely-known-as-metro lol). I tryed to let Windows "update" the driver from the device manager (although I knew I was using the latest one) and it downgraded it to a 2011 driver. If I didn't want it, uninstalled and installed the newest one, it was the new one the first time I open it, and the second time I opened it, it reverted back to the 2011 driver (I had BSoD problems in that time that were caused be someting else, so I reinstalled whole Windows... I am working on a Dell Inspiron B130 for a family member. It has been running very slowly and has not had any sound for months. Every time Windows loads it finds new hardware called PCI Device. It cannot locate a driver and fails to load every time. In Device Manager there is a yellow triangle with an exclamation point next to PCI Device. I have removed about 17 GB of files from the computer, all pictures, videos, and programs that have not been used in a long time and run Defrag. I also upgraded the RAM from 500 MB to 2 GB. I went to the Dell web site and downloaded all the drivers that were listed for this laptop by it's Service Tag. When I tried to run the Dell files they said that the hardware for this driver is not on the computer. I did a Google search for this problem and found that I needed to load the Dell System Notebook Software first but this is not listed under the Service Tag for this laptop, but I did find it under all downloads for Inspiron B130. When I tried to run the file, it told me I did not have the correct version of Windows Installer so I installed Windows Installer 4.5. Now when I try to load the Dell System Notebook Software it tells me "the installation package does not support this Processor type." I am frustrated and do not know if I should try a System Restore at this point. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
I have a USB device (lets say XXX) and its driver. It has one configuration and one interface (interface value = 0).
Now I have updated this device to be a composite device by adding another interface (interface value = 1). For this:
I have modified device class, subclass and protocol as 0x0.
I have provided different PID (otherwise, composite driver is not loaded).
When I connect this modified device, I see that composite driver is associated and shown as two two devices in device manager. I have disabled the other device with MI_01. For MI_00, I want to use XXX driver. So I uploaded the driver by pointing to XXX driver
for MI_00. When I tried this, I got this error:This device cannot start. (Code 10).
Please let me know if I have to do any modifications to XXX driver INF file. Infact, I tried updating INF to specify same .sys file for new PID and MI_00 (and created cat file using Inf2Cat). Then I get this error: A problem was encountered while attempting
to add the driver to the store.
Please let me know if its possible to re-use XXX driver without any modifications (except for possible changes to INF file) as this driver is from 3rd party.
Rgds,
Venkat.

Hi - Reading another post, it seems that my current problem with my ATAPI ihap322 8 DVD-ROM (I can't rip or burn an un-copywrited DVD) may go away if I can go to Device Manager and uninstall the DVD-ROM and then reboot so that Windows xp-pro can re-install it with the correct drivers -

I searched the entire C drive for any file with 'Device Manager' and got no hits - So can someone please tell me how to get to the Device Manager in Win-xp-pro?

Thanks

Hello,

After a lightening storm, my ethernet connection quit working. It's part of my motherboard. I reinstalled windows xp and everything is working great except that. Oh and my flaoppy disk driver quit working too. But I can live without that.

My question is, if I was hit by lightening, wouldn't the whole system be fried?

And can I buy a stand alone ethernet card, install that, and somehow disable the one on the motherboard? Would that solve my problem?

Thanks,
Greg

I have attached a view of what's listed in my device manager because there are two "unknown devices" listed under "Imaging Devices" and I have no idea what they are. The manufacturer is Creative Technology Ltd. but that's about all I know. Every time I start up my PC I get the message, "updating drivers" and then, "update failed" but the only thing that's not working properly is I can't seem to upload photos from my Canon Powershot any more. (That is in another post)

Does anyone know if these are connected?

My PC (Windows XP) has a problem -- in device manager, all of the imaging devices are in broken state. They are listed under imaging devices, but they have the dreaded yellow circle and question mark on them.

This began to be a problem only fairly recently, with my scanner. Can't scan; get an error message. This is true despite replacing my previous scanner.

In Device Manager, the properties screen for the scanner (as imaging device, it's a multi-purpose and is working fine as a copier and printer) says:

"Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)

Click troubleshoot etc."

I've been through the whole troubleshoot menu, with no results. Also been on the phone with HP tech and did the whole uninstall and reinstall thing (again) and it did no good. He told me it's a PC problem and I need to ask Dell about solving USB controller or BIOS issues.

Anyone have any idea what is going on inside my PC, and how I can go about fixing this? Thanks for reading and any advice.

This can't burn music or avi files but it rips (reads but dont write). Any software I try to use, a window comes up saying it cannot locate a burning device. The rom is a TEAC DVD- Rom/ Version 5.1.2535.0 -After wks of toying around w/ it I googled the rom and learned nothing is wrong. It's just not a writable DVD rom http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/storage/P161454/en/spec.htm
I started wondering if I could uninstall this TEAC driver & re-install another driver & firmware so I can burn my music? Also where can I download these things for free, or does these drivers cost? Thank you.

I upgraded to Windows 10 a while back. Every time I open the computer I get a pop-up notification telling me the USB device is unrecognized. I have no USB devices in any of my 3 USB ports.
I sent my computer in twice. No help. They just uninstalled everything and reinstalled everything and told me it should be fixed. It is not. I then went about updating every driver in my Device Manager. I uninstalled the Unknown USB Device and then updated
other drivers. Certain drivers (such as PCI Express Root Port #3 - 9C14) when updating would also reinstall the Unknown USB Device, which I would then uninstall and keep working down the list. At the end of updating EVERYTHING I scanned for hardware changes
and "found" the Unknown USB Device.
From what I can tell, and I know very little about this stuff, my computer can't name one of my USB ports. Since it can't figure out what it's called it can't download the proper driver for it. Since it can't download the proper driver it can't work properly.
The practical result from this is that one of my three USB ports does nothing when I put in any USB item (connect my android phone, thumb drive, presentation clicker, etc).
I've looked on tons of forums. My current thought is that if I can tell my computer what the deice is or download the right driver and tell my computer to use that driver for this device it should solve my issue. But I don't know how to know what the name
of the USB port should be (I imagine it woul... Read more

I have used the Officejet Pro 8500 Wireless device for several years and never had this problem. Had to reinstall Windows 7 Home Premium recently and now am getting "The HP imaging device was not found" pop up error message. Same desktop computer before and after the Windows reinstall.

I have the printer software from the HP site and have installed/uninstalled/reinstalled several times with the same result.

Anyone know of a way to deal with this?

Hello there,

i am trying to install a webcam for my friend. Every time we try to donwload the software to install the thing, it installs and then says that there is no webcam detected.

I have tried all 5 USB ports, reinstalled the driver 7 times through web and CD. Have bought two new cameras. Have done everything under the sun and now i ask for your help.

I think the problem is that Imaging Devices isnt a catagorie. The webcam (Creative Live! Vista Cam) is on 'Other' section of device manager. When i go to repair it, it completes and calls the driver Composite USB Device. if i close this and re-open it, it says the error again.

What can i do for help!

Thank you for your time

A:No imaging devices catagorie in Device Manager

There won't be an Imaging Devices section until an imaging device is installed properly on the computer.

It sounds like the USB ports aren't working correctly or the drivers have an issue.

You are installing the software before plugging in the camera right?

Also what version of Windows is on your computer?
