Internet Explorer 11 64 bit; if Tools Options Custom Level settings & Advanced tab Security Features were selected; Internet Explorer 11 64 bit even refuses to load websites with host of other funny messages; WHY?

Q: Internet Explorer 11 64 bit; if Tools Options Custom Level settings & Advanced tab Security Features were selected; Internet Explorer 11 64 bit even refuses to load websites with host of other funny messages; WHY?

Please refer photos.
I am using Internet Explorer 11 from Program Files folder which supposedly launches 64 bit applications. This Internet Explorer 11 settings from Tools Options of Custom Level and Advanced tabs Security features were if selected; Internet Explorer
11 64 bit simply refuses to load websites with host of other truly funny messages like US DOD official website found 'Not Secure' or Microsoft's own msftconnect.com 'This website is not secure' etc., with other websites like default Internet Explorer 11 webpage
doesn't loads fast enough even though all options favours fast loading with Advanced security features; WHY? this ultimately stops after all settings are set to default without single modification in Custom Settings or Advance Security features.
This coupled with Microsoft Edge's unpredictable website loading with frequent Network's internet connection disconnecting to the brink of unusability; nothing; even Microsoft Edge Reset won't resolve these scenarios.
And now Microsoft Edge DEV; with all above said problems and beta version errings uses 1.5 GB of 4G ISP full speed memory to send computer information to Microsoft within half day of 12 hrs. day, rest of day goes with crawling speed of ISP setted 64 Kbps
in short without internet connection; this happening on all days Microsoft Edge DEV use; now a days I use only Internet Explorer 11 64 bit strictly with Default Level & Advance Security features Resetted instead of selecting appropriate or secured
options; which fails their purpose to start with; but websites does all things correct without selecting correct options (e. g. if its selected Not to load websites without address or Do not run scriptlets; websites were loaded showing message or dialog
boxes contrary to settings or if Advance security features were selected IE 11 blocked or flagged US DOD official or Microsoft's own website as unsecure.)
Please check.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

We have Windows 10 Professional Edition 64 bit and IE11. Once the computer is connected to a Domain Account, the internet Explorer Enables Protected Mode and Site and custom Level Tabs are grayed out under security Tab. We are not able to add the intranet
trusted sites.
We have checked on the Domain Controller Group Policy and no policy has been set for internet explorer.
If we login to a local user,  all the above greyed out tabs are enabled and Protected mode is disabled.
I have tried several ways and nothing is successful. Which setting is to be done for enabling this setting while connected to Domain account?

I hope someone can help me work this out, it's driving me crazy!
I'll try to explain it in as few words as possible!
There is a website we need to access on which we're having trouble getting some of the buttons to display.  In short it works when the internet zone is set to "Medium" but not when it's "Medium-High" (I have added it to trusted sites
but in properties it shows as "Unknown Zone (Mixed)" so seems to use the "Internet Zone" settings.)
I am trying to track down which security setting is causing the issue.  To do this my plan was to make a note of all the settings that differ between Medium and Medium-High.  However if I set it to medium-high and manually change all the settings
to be identical to medium it still doesn't work... yet if I use the "Reset to: Medium" option at the bottom it does work!  This doesn't make any sense to me.
Are there other hidden stetting affected by the "Reset to" option that I can't change manually.
Any help would really be appreciated!  Thanks!

I trust this is the correct forum to post this problem! I am suddenly unable to open my Tools/Internet Options for Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0.2800. I get the following prompt (see also file attachment): "This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator."

What is going on? I have a sneaky feeling that a spyware file has disabled this! How do I get Explorer to open Internet Options?

Desperately seeking solution!

A:(Solved) Cannot Access Internet Options in Tools for Explorer 6.0

If you have SpyBot installed, go to SpyBot - Search and Destroy > Immunize, and UNcheck the "Lock IE Control Panel..." box.

If you don't, copy the bold to Notepad, and save as remove.reg (save as 'all file types').
Double-click it, and answer yes to the prompt whether you'd like the contents of the file added to the Registry.
Subsequently reboot.

I tried to log into one of my email accounts, and when I did, the inbox page wouldn't load, and after waiting awhile, it said 'Action Cancelled'. Then when I clicked the Inbox button, a box came up that asked 'Allow sub-frames to navigate across different domains?'...I have no idea what that means, so I just clicked on the 'x'. I assume this has something to do with Internet Options, but I haven't changed the custom settings for a few weeks. I've been able to access my mail since then...tonight is the the first time it's happened.

The only thing I can think of that I've done lately that may have changed my computer was delete a file named 'AutoRun:C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\Userinit.exe' with Adware Away...I think maybe I shouldn't have deleted that one, but I dunno if it has anything to do with the email problem I'm having.

I just checked my Internet Options, but I don't see 'allow sub-frames to navigate across different domains', only 'Navigate sub-frames across different domains' (I have 'prompt') and 'Access data sources across domains' (I have 'disable').
Is there anything I need to fix or be suspicous about?

A:Internet Options...custom level

Now when I check my email, I don't get the message, 'Allow sub-frames to navigate across different domains?'. I haven't changed any settings since the last time I got the message. Why is that it never asked before, asked two or three times in one night, and never asked again?

Does anyone know of a way to export the Advanced Settings in IE 7 or 8 to a file? Occassionally we have issues with some users being able to open sections of websites while other users can't. Usually we find that there is a setting checked or unchecked in one of the users Advanced Settings. I would like to be able to compare settings easily by outputting the settings to a file rather than having to scroll though each users settings. I would have thought there would be a utility out there for this but I can't find anything on it. Can someone please help?

Hello all,

I am having a website that requires changing the Microsoft VM (Java Permissions) settings to be "Low safety".

This options by default will be there in IE settings if there is Java installed on the PC which is running on Windows 7. My current problem is that I cannot find these options in IE settings if it is a 64-bits architecture! They are exactly the same PCs
with all the same software and Java versions but these options are only visible in the 32-bits architecture. Is there any way to create them in the 64 bits PCs? That website I talked about earlier will only work if I change the safety to Low which is not available
at all in the 64 bits architecture.

Thank you.

I wanted to thank etavares in the forum, "Virus, Trojan, Spyware, and Malware Removal Logs" for helping me with another computer. The problem I have is as I click on Internet Explorer and I'm surfing on the internet. Whenever I'm on a website, if the webpages have pictures, images and videos on them, it doesn't seem to display them. Some examples are youtube, facebook, news websites, any entertainment websites, any of the search engines main websites, virtually any websites that have images, pictures and videos on them. Also, whenever I try to download a program and/or application from the internet, nothing happens, it doesn't want to download them. I was using one of those free registry cleaners that I had downloaded from the internet and I think that I somehow must of accidently deleted some DLL'S and some registry keys that weren't supposed to be deleted. Or maybe it's something else? I have a Compaq Presario 5827 with an Intel Celeron Processor 498 MHZ, 384 MB of Ram with Windows XP Professional Version 2002 Service Pack. I wanted to do a re-install of the Windows XP Professional operating system but I can't find the CD. Thank you in advance for your help as I appreciate it very much.

P.S. I have posted another topic in the "Virus, Trojan, Spyware, and Malware Removal Logs" forum because I originally thought that I had some kind of virus and/or rootkit problem.

Thank you,

That's a good question, Ed, one I'll get started answering, but the full answer will elude me. Begin at the General tab. Home page. Default is naturally MSN or the like. Current will be whatever you cut/paste into place or type in. It better be a URL, though, or all heck 'll break out tryin' to get it to work. When it's working , the current button will be faded. Hopefully, you'll choose something a little less busy & complicated...slow to load, that is... than Yahoo or MSN. Hit the blank button and your load will be lightnin' fast. Hi,A friend of mine is running Win XP and IE6.I have designed a web site for him which I have emailed to him for proof readings.Javascript has been used to disguise email addresses and an excel spread sheet is included as a download from a link. When trying to run the draft website from his machine in IE6 the script doesn't run but there is no security bar at the top of the browser window where you would normally expect to "click" to be able to select the option to allow it to. In his "Internet" and "Intranet" security settings "Active Scripting" is enabled. When he clicks on the link to download the excel file he gets a message which says something to the effect that "Security Settings will not allow download of this file".However, for a similar web site which I have designed and is published, which uses javascript for the menus, the menus appear as intended so clearly the script is executing. Further, on this site a word doc downloads with no problem.I have to confess I am stumped. Anyone have any ideas?ThanksDerek

I've been having problems off and on with my internet security lately. I can't download anything unless I set it lower than the default which isn't recommended by IE.

Anyway I decided to download Firefox today and I'm able to download but this one particular site won't let me upload anything because of my security settings:

I downloaded Firefox thinking it would solve this problem but it didn't. I turned off TrendMicro but nothing seems to work. At one point it would work in IE but I had to go another User Account. I've been having a problem for a while that has been quite annoying to me. I think it relates to XP service pack 2, but I'm not sure:

In Internet Explorer, under Tools>Internet Options>Security, there are two problems.
The first is that the security settings slider for internet refuses to change to anything below medium. It gives the error:
"The Recommended security level for this zone is 'Medium'. The level you have chosen is lower than this. Please choose a security level of of 'Medium' or higher."
This sounds like a security pack issue, as I noticed the problem right after installing it. But it still bothers me to not have the ability to override the default.

The second problem on the same window is the lack of a "Custom Level" button. The button is there, but grey and unclickable. This is relatively recent and corrosponds to my recent virus infection which I just got rid of.
This problem is much more aggrovating as it doesn't seem to be any type of spyware or virus, and it restricts browsing in many ways.

I have run McAfee and found no current viruses/worms/trojans. I also have run both of the latest editions/updates of SpyBot and Adaware.

Somehow these problems seem easy to fix, but, of course, I've been unable to find any solution. Any help would definitely be appreciated.

I am trying to package a custom installation for Internet Explorer 10 using IEAK.  I am having some trouble with the Import Security Settings portion of the tool.
It is failing to import the security settings.  It says it has imported them, but upon installation the security settings have not been included in the IE 10 installation.
Looking at the "INS" folder that is built and the custsec.inf file create there, I can see that only two security settings have been captured -- "1401" and "2500" and none of the other 50 or so security settings are collected
for any zone.
In addition, I have trusted sites set to not require HTTPS, but that selection is not captured into the custom IEAK generated browser installer.
Does anyone have any tips on how to successfully deploy a customized version of IE 10?  I am even more reliant now on IEAK since IEM mode was removed from Group Policy, so I reall need to figure out why it doesn't function correctly.

A:Internet Explorer 10 IEAK capturing Security Settings

When ActiveSetup is run on a 64bit OS, first all the 32bit ActiveSetup keys are run first, and the 64bit ActiveSetup keys are run second.

The problem is that IEAK is adding the CUSTOM ActiveSetup to the 32bit key, and the ie4uinit.exe is added to the 64bit key.  While the IEAK has an ">" listed in the GUID (to signal for it to run last) it runs "last" in the 32bit
ActiveSetup commands.  The 64bit ones (which the ie4uinit.exe is part of) all run after the 32bit stuff....
So it appears that IEAK is not designed to build an IE 10 installation that will run correctly on 64bit OSes.  The IEAK CUSTOM settings will always apply prior to the ie4uinit running.  I suppose this can be changed by further manipulating the
registry after IEAK customized IE 10 is installed and making sure the >{GUID} entry is moved to the 64bit registry.
I suppose another way to look at it is ie4uinit is not correctly noticing that that the user settings are already present in the user's registry and is wallpapering over them with the incorrect settings.  Either way, the end result is that the incorrect
settings are being configured for the user on first logon.

I find it difficult to believe that Microsoft IE team has messed this up and that no one has discovered it before.  (I'm not being sarcastic) That makes me question what I am doing that is incorrect because I can't  believe that a problem like
that would exist in a ... Read more

Hi - I have Windows XP Professional SP2, and IE6 SP2.

In Tools, Internet Options, Settings, View Objects, there is an Active X Control icon that has 0 bytes, and the File Name is C:\Windows\Downloaded Prog...\" and in the size (bytes) column it shows the word Damaged. When I right-click on the icon and press Remove, I get the message: These program files are currently being used by one or more programs. Please close some programs and try again. You may need to restart Windows. In the Title Bar is the name Share Violation. Although I close all windows, restart, and go there again, I get the same message. How do I get rid of this icon?

Also, Re: Restore Down and Maximize screen. On some sites, these two functions don't work. When I press the Restore Down or the Maximize, the screen just gives a little jiggle and stays the same size (maximized). This site is one that does this strange behavior. Sometimes, in the past, I have used the cursor to pull the screen both up and down so it fills the page, and then close by going to File and then Close. But that does not seem to be working. As I mentioned, it does not happen on all sites, just some of them, like this site. How can I fix this?

Thanks mucho.

Anna Ruth

P.S. Maybe when I get my brand new compuer set up this coming Sunday, I will not have a lot of problems with stuff like this.

A:Tools, Internet Options Settings; Maximize and Restore Down

Getting rid of the Icon; Go in in Safe Mode. that usually lets you get rid of such things.
For the Minimise, try a right click in the IE6 tool bar, and then choose minimise.
hope this helps.

Hello everyone and thank you for participating in this wonderful site.

My computer is a Pentium 4, 2.80 GHz, Running Windows XP Proffessional Version 2002 Service Pack 2.
The problem I'm writing about has been there for about a year. All in all it's the same prolem ever since, but every once in a while some detail changes, like a new error message.
Every about 5-15 minutes the Start Menu Taskbar and the desktop icons disappear (Explorer crushes). Most of the times they reappear shortly after, but sometimes they don't, and then I use task manager to run explorer and then they reappear. Yet, sometimes the computer stucks altogether, and I have to restart. In addition to that, many popups open when I surfe the web using Internet Explorer. The popup changes every few days, but in between it's always the same one.
Another point is that while the crushing of explorer can occur anytime, it most often occurs while I open or close Internet Explorer windows.

Sometimes I get an error message, and as I said, they change from time to time. But still, here are 2:

Hello, and welcome to TSF!

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order it is mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes. You should 'not' have any open browsers when you are following the procedures below.

Go to My Computer->Tools/View->Folder Options->View tab and make sure that 'Show hidden files and folders' (or 'Show all files') is enabled. Also make sure that 'Display the contents of system folders' is checked. If you have Windows XP, the search feature is a little different. When you click on 'All files and folders' on the left pane, click on the 'More advanced options' at the bottom. Make sure that 'Search system folders', 'Search hidden files and folders', and 'Search subfolders' are checked.

For the options that you checked/enabled earlier, you may uncheck them after your log is clean. If we ask you to fix a program that you use or want to keep, please post back saying that (we don't know every program that exists, so we may tell you to delete a program that we think is bad to keep).

Ok, I posted a question a few months how I had to click the back button 3 times instead of one time in order for my browser to go back just one page, and that is still happening. Now on every website, the advertisments, not the popups, but the advertisments that appear on the page itself, say "Page Cannot be displayed" where the ads are suppose to be, on everyone, I have a feeling these two things are connected. One thing is, if I reinstall IE will I still have my built in IE popup blocker that came with IE when I purchased this PC? The PC is only like 4 months old and i actually enjoy the popup blocker thats built right in with IE. Thanks for any help!

Thought I'd put this in here, as its not a critical update

This version of Internet Explorer includes improved support for DHTML and CSS, which gives Web architects greater control over browser appearance and behavior. Enjoy the ability to preview Web pages exactly as they appear when printed. Internet Explorer 5.5 Service Pack 2 (SP2) makes it easier than ever to connect to the Internet and find the information you need. With Internet Explorer 5.5 SP2, you can use Connection Manager as your default dialer when Dial-Up Networking is already installed.

During installation, you can choose from a list of components that are designed to work with Internet Explorer 5.5 SP2. If you decide you want additional components after installation, return to the Product Updates catalog to download and install them.

If you are running Windows Millennium Edition (Windows Me), installing Internet Explorer 5.5 SP2 will not change the current level of encryption on your computer.

There was a forum about this a while back, but i tried everything and nothing has worked. Whenever I select internet explorer, it doesn't open. I tried running it with no add-ons - same thing, i've tried to re-register it using START -> RUN. - same thing, i've tried running safe mode and opening it - same thing. I just want to open it so i can download Google Chrome. (P.S. i believe it has something to do with a recent virus that was on my computer). WHAT DO I DO????

I need to open a webpage in IE and using Edge when I click open in IE nothing happens. I did a bit of research and figured it might be turned of in features. So I check features and it's not there.

I do a bit more research and found a command line to run. It fails.

I just reset my computer and still nothing. Is there a way to add it to features if it's not there? Any suggestions?

Need some more info. What is your OS? Are you wireless or hardwire? What are the make and model numbers of your Router and Modem? Are there any red x's or yellow flags in the Device Manager next to your network adapter? Open a command prompt and type the following without the quotes and paste all the results back here, "ipconfig /all".

Ok internet explorer is not working niether firefox. About 2 weeks ago i went on my computer and an when i tried to go on any website it would not work. Seconds after, a firefox update starts but it does not do anything and the internet does not work.
-I have Norton But removed all Norton content from computer still did not do anything.
-before deleting Nortan Scanned for viruses no viruses were found
Safe mode WORKS, i figured out that by doing doing a system restore and going to a restore point will restore my computer and internet works everything is fine. BUT it is very annoying having to keep doing system restore because after i do system restore and turn off computer when i turn it back on its all over again the update and sites not working.

I know my internet works because with/without system restore internet games work perfectly fine.

Although keep doing system restore is really annoying it doesnt work anymore when i try 2 restore to a previouse point it loads and then says system restore incomplete there was no restore points found for that date although im certain there was because i used the same date like twice before. Gahh this is so frustrating my computer is like an old car reck. help is very appreciated!

Internet explorer: a guide for using some features
Even if anyone does not use Internet Explorer as primary browser, at some point of time, we need to use it for proper rendering of certain webpages. This tutorial shows you some of the advanced features of Internet Explorer and how to use them.

This is your Internet Explorer's "top section"; you will see lots of buttons, tabs are visible (and there are invisible too!).

1. Lets Start with right top search bar. By default, its set to Bing search. However, you can change it as per your wish. Just click the down arrow to get the options, click on "Bing (Default)" to provoke a selection window.

2. Just below it, if you use Windows Live passport (= have Live or Hotmail account in short); your name and profile picture will be seen. You can change your profile, profile picture or sign out directly from here:

3. Just below the above, you will see this panel with some tabs:

(A) Click the home icon directly to go to your homepage, or click the downward arrow on right side of it to get this drop down menu:

You can change, add or remove any tabs from this menu.

(B) The right next to this home button is Feed button (See screenshot above point 3(A) ).

It can be used for saving either RSS Feeds (If the webpage supports) or Web Slices (Same, if webpage supports). For example, I am viewing SevenForums.com home page; now, if I click the Feed button:

I can get the option for RSS fee... Read more

IE8 is rock solid with no issues in 100+ installs, except that on some I cannot resize the pages to make them hold their size when reopened.

Normally I do this by pressing a few times the middle square box next to the Red X at top right. But there is nothing that will get them to hold their size except AutoSizer which I have to install to program size. Annoying.
