Yoga C930 can't connect to wifi and often restart

Q: Yoga C930 can't connect to wifi and often restart

I like to keep my C930 in sleep mode. But sometimes after wake up, the laptop cannot connect to wifi (it cannot find surrounding wifi, and I cannot turn the wifi off). I will need to restart the computer to make the wifi work again. But when I restart the laptop in this condition, It cannot restart normally, it keeps restarting several times and until entering into repairing mode. I need to turn off the computer and open it again. It happens several times. It is hardware or system problem? And once I waked the laptop and screen didn't work. But it never happens again. Do I need to reinstall the computer or send it to repair?I just bought it for a month.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

New YOGA C93013IKB with Bios 8GCN30WW. I have evertyhing up to date, but my wifi connection seems to randomly drop for about 10 seconds every now and then. Looking at the event viewer logs through my device manager I see an error message at the time of the wifi drops. Here is the event message I can see in the device manager  Device PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2526&SUBSYS_00148086&REV_29\4&11c95301&0&00E4 had a problem starting.Driver Name: oem46.infClass Guid: {4D36E972-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}Service: Netwtw06Lower Filters:Upper Filters: vwifibusProblem: 0x15Problem Status: 0x0 Do I have a faulty wifi module or is this something an update/settings change can fix? Looking through the forums with other post having wifi drops, it's recommended to uncheck a box in the power management tab but I don't even have that tab available in my wifi device. This is getting pretty annoying for something this expensive.

Hello, I've problems with the Wifi card. From time to time the wifi card is not recognized correctly and it gets the yellow exclamation mark in the device manager and says the device could not be started. I tried the latest driver of Lenovo website and the latest of Intel website. Same problem. If it hppens I have to reinstall the driver and reboot multiple times and plug in and out the power (I didn't find a proper way to fix it) and suddenly it is working again for some days. I suppose Energy saving/hibernating problems but I'm not sure. I'm just afraid that my new device is having a hardware defect ;-( Does anyone else have similar issues?Any idea how to fix it? Thanks in advance,Michael

Hi, I have tried to connect my Yoga C930 to some projectors at school. So far it worked fine in one classroom on one campus but failed in several classrooms in another campus. In the latter case, even I pressed Windows key and P and chose duplicate, nothing showed up on the projector screen. Then I saw a student using X1C6. I asked him to try. He just plugged in the hdmi cable from the podium to to his laptop and images showed up on the projector screen immediately. So, it means it is not the problem with the projector but problem with my machine or USB-C to HDMI adapter.  I can use the same adapter to connect a former X1Y3 to the TV at home. It worked fine. Using the same adapter and same TV with the C930, it does not work. Anybody knows what is wrong?

Hello! My Lenovo Yoga has started freezing randomly; it does not matter what is currently running. This also includes starting up the laptop. Sometimes when the power button is pressed, the laptop will not start, but instead will present a black screen for around 1 minute then start up. During startup the power light is not flashing but is fully lit showing that the laptop should be up. The wifi will also sometimes stop working altogether, even sometimes removing the wifi option completely in the wifi options. Even when the wifi card in the lenovo is reset, the wifi does not come back. I have already tried uninstalling and reinstalling the wifi driver. I have already contacted Lenovo before, but instead of fixing the problem, they somehow sent me into an infinite blue screen loop. They claimed that my bios was corrupted and reset my computer completely, losing all files. This fixed the problem for about 12 hours. Currently, the only softwares I have downloaded are Eclipse IDE and Java. Could someone please help me fix this? I possibly received a defective unit?

I was quite concerned about the 20Mbps download speeds with this NEW laptop on my Asus AC87. It uses the 5GHz MIMO with beamforming and should get 95Mbps. My Note 9 for instance with 2 x 2 MIMO gets 95Mbps. It is a HUGE and disappointing difference. All I did was go into the settings and change the bandwidth from 80MHz down to 40MHz and so far the problem seems to be solved and it didn't affect the speed of other wireless devices. I'm wondering of course if anyone else experienced the same issues. This may mean I'm getting a lesser theoretical speed but the practical speed is what counts and it works now. Grant

Hi,My brand new Yoga 720-15 IKB doesn't connect to my workplace wifi network which is a Mikrotik network. It does though connect to my home network or a mobile hotspot and works fine with them. I have installed all Windows 10 updates and Lenovo Companion updates. I have manually updated wifi card driver, I have also tried deleting network card and installing it again - but no success. Still doesn't connect to this one particular network in my workplace. To make it stranger my coworker has the same brand new Yoga 720, the only difference is that mine Yoga is grey and his is platinium color. We discovered also that two, supposedly the same computers  have different network cards (he has Intel, I have Qualcomm Atheros QCA61x4A. This is a bit weird).I have also found out his Yoga connects easily to VPN at our workplace, my doesn't.Any ideas how to solve it? EDIT: my current network card driver is 12.0.0.295

So I have had this HP Spectre for about a year now and it does not connect to my home internet unless I restart the modem. I restart the modem and it will work for a while. If i ever turn my laptop off or sometimes even close the laptop the internet will not connect and I will have to go unplug and replug the modem. This is extremely frustrating especially because of how expensive this thing was. Samsung Galaxy, siblings mac's, siblings iphones, even my Xbox One all connect to the internet but it is only this computer that always has a problem. I moved away for a couple months and at the house I was staying at my laptop connected to the internet with no such problems. I'm kind of assuming it's some kind of problem with this laptops adapter and my internet but that  makes no sense because my internet is fine with all of my other devices.  I have the latest LAN driver installed as well. This is a rather annoying problem and any insight would be much appreciated.

However, virtual keyboard did not show up. I had to turn the laptps to laptop mode, entered the password and then flipped them back to tablet for the machines to function. This has happened to both my Yoga 730 15" 4K and Yoga C930 4K. Why? Perhaps it is not the virtual keyboard not showing up but the touch screens did not respond? Is this a common issue for the Yoga line?

I have been relatively happy with my Yoga 900, but I have run into an odd situation and would appreciate any help.Specifically, my device functions well with my home router, but if I move to an area of the house where the WiFi signal is weak, and I get disconnected from the router, I seem to be unable to re-connect to the router when I then move back to an area of the house with a strong signal.I tried turning off the WiFi and turning it back on, but it still will not connect. It seems the only way I can get back online is to reboot. Is there a solution to this? For what it's worth, I do have the default 18.12.2.3 driver installed (Intel Dual Band Wireless AC 8260), and saw a post somewhere suggesting going to the Intel site for their driver.I am not someone who enjoys tweaking settings, so hopefully there is a simple step I am missing. Thanks so much to anyone who has time and willingness to offer a suggestion.

The Yoga C930 is usually around the same price or more expensive, but the yogadays promotion right now made the base model $200 cheaper even with 2 years on-site warranty. Hello everybody! As my post says my Yoga is not connecting to the internet upon startup, and after long periods of sleep. It does connect to the network immediately and will say 'No internet, secured', and will stay this way for a minute or more, or I have to manually disconnect and reconnect to the network. Troubleshooting problems from the context menu gives up before even trying. The strange thing is if I sleep my computer for around ten minutes it reconnects immediately, if it's a few hours or over night the problem occurs. I just cannot figure out what is causing this. Everything is completely up to date including the BIOS version and Windows 10.I've checked for the latest drivers on Lenovo's website, and I've looked for more up to date Atheros Wireless drivers. I have also tried rolling the drivers back, and at another point allowed Windows 10 to update the drivers. I have even done a complete wipe and reinstall of Windows 10, the problem has spanned over multiple major Windows updates, but I do not have this problem on any other operating systems. I have the Qualcomm Atheros QCA61x4A Wireless Netword Adapter in the Yoga 720-15IKB, and I have made sure it is not going to sleep to save power in the power management tab of device properties. I have also tried toggling on and off all of the services and startup items pertaining to network connectivity, and have tried disabling Windows Defender. I've run SFC /scannow in the command prompt.Any ideas ... Read more

I have a Yoga 13 running Windows 8.1 that has recently stopped connecting to my home wireless network. All the latest Windows Updates are installed at this time.I have uninstalled the Realtek Network device and the related drivers, rebooted and tested without luck. This unit sees the networks and if I enter a wrong password, it asks for a re-entry of the correct password.  When the correct password is entered it says "Checking Network Requirements" then fails with "Can't connect to this network"None of the troubleshooting services have been successful. All my other devices connect without any issues. I am runniing a Netgear R8000 Nighthawk wireless router. What is odd is that this laptop will connect to my iPhone 6 hotspot without any issues. I suspected a windows update may be the cause so I downloaded drivers from Lenovo for the wireless adapter.  Uninstalled the current ones, rebooted, and then installed the Lenove supplied drivers.  Still no joy. Any other suggestions short of a reinstall of the OS? Cheers! Hawkeye007

This seems to have happened after the Windows 1903 update. I've the latest drivers, BIOS...etc. Still no luck. Connection speeds were great not too long ago but not exactly sure when this started. But my speeds are a fraction of what they used to be. It might be the power settings for WiFi but after drilling around I can no longer find these. Even under Advanced Power Settings. I've tried older Intel WiFi drivers but no luck. Using the Intel Wireless AC 9260 160Mhz.

Hello everyone! So after going back and forth which laptop i wanted i finally ended up getting a Yoga C930 which feels MUCH better compared to the 730 i had for about a day. The only concern i have for it right now is the fan noise is noticeable. I updated all of the drivers and did all of the windows updates, but it seems the fan is much more audible compared to the 730 i had. (I used the windows app and Driver Easy to do this) It's not entirely annoying but i do notice it. I also notice the laptop tends to get a bit warm. I know its only been a few hours but still its something i've noticed.  This is the exact one i purchased from Best Buy I've also noticed the Dolby Atmos Speaker System app apparently isn't compatible with my device? I have a brand-new Yoga C930 2-in-1 with a 1TB SSD and 16 GB RAM, which I'd like to run Ubuntu Linux on. I can't manage to boot from a USB (type A) pen drive yet, though. I managed to enter the BIOS (via this hint) and the "Boot from USB" option is "Enabled". When I exit the BIOS, though, saving the changes, having the USB pen drive plugged-in into the USB-A slot, Windows is booting up just normal. No USB boot happens, no boot menu is shown. Also, the usual pressing of buttons such as F2, F11, F12 or Del doesn't result in anything being shown from the BIOS. How do I boot from a USB drive then? Obviously, when there is a related option in the BIOS, it should be possible, shouldn't it?

The pen that comes along with the Lenovo Yoga C930 isn't working on my laptop. The battery shows full and I barely ever use the pen but I have many plans of starting to use it. It really saddens me that I left an HP laptop for a Lenovo just to come to this problem. It has only been 1 month since I've bought this laptop and I barely use the pen but then it doesn't work anymore. There was a time where I didn't charge the pen for a whole week but I put it back and didn't touch it ever since. It's impossible that anything could have happened to the pen because I left it in a drawer. The touch screen works perfectly fine.... I don't know what to do and I am really really sad/disappointed. I need help with this if anyone can let me know of anything I can do or what's wrong?

Hello, I recently purchased a Yoga C930 (less than a week ago).  I had a few screen glitches and just thought it was normal for a new computer that hasn?t really run yet but today I turned it off and now it will not turn back on.  If I press the power button, the keyboard backlight turns on for about a second and sometimes the fan turns on but then it immediately turns back off.  This repeats itself every five seconds until I hold the power button and it turns off again.  Has anyone had a similar issue or know a possible solution?  I have tried to reset but there is no physical Nova button and I cannot access the Nova menu since the computer does not get that far when turning on.

I recently purchased the Yoga c930 to mainly draw on the go and do artwork in various apps and programs (mainly Photoshop, SketchBook, and Krita). However, this 2 in 1 is unable to download the wacom feel it driver ( I get a message saying that the wacom driver is not compatiable with the computer/tablet, which is wierd because the pen uses wacom aes technology) and I am having trouble with getting pressure sensitivity to work in almost everything I have tried to draw in. I even tried to change setting within the programs themselves, but the only one that really worked was Photoshop. Krita and Sketchbook still have no pressure sensitivity. There is also a Lenovo Pen Settings control panel for pressure sensitivity, but it does not really seem to make a difference in sensitivity when I change the settings there. Any suggestions as to how to get the pressure sensitivity to function properly on this computer would be greatly appreciated. I really don't want to have to return the laptop and get the Yoga 720 13" becuase this computer is really nice otherwise, but I'm starting to think that may be the only option if I want to have a better drawing experience.
