Regarding Geforce 6800 Ultra, Ultra Extreme, or Asus v9999 Ultra Deluxe

Q: Regarding Geforce 6800 Ultra, Ultra Extreme, or Asus v9999 Ultra Deluxe

Hi all =). I'm getting a computer made with a 450w power supply. I'm getting a Geforce 6800 Ultra at least, but the company recommends a 480w supply for this card. I've heard of people having problems with their power supply not being able to cope with this card, but I don't know exactly at what power their power supplies ran. Will I run into any problems with the power supply I'm getting, or should I upgrade to 480w or more?

Don't know if you need this information also, but I think this may also effect my power supply:

Asus K8V SE Deluxe Motherboard
Athlon 64 3400+
1.5 GB pc3200 DDR Ram
120 GB HDD

Also heard that AMD uses less power than Intel or something...sooo I was thinking that perhaps my graphics card will not be affected as much because of this...but dunno. Help would be greatly appreciated =D.

Preferred Solution: Regarding Geforce 6800 Ultra, Ultra Extreme, or Asus v9999 Ultra Deluxe

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A: Regarding Geforce 6800 Ultra, Ultra Extreme, or Asus v9999 Ultra Deluxe

One, Use a title once.

Two, nope nVIDIA GeForce 6800 families or newer REQUIRES 480w of psu minimum, PERIOD. it is not matter how much watts amd or intel uses, what you means that you must have 480w or higher to have GF 6800 working properly.

Recommendation, get ATI Radeon 9600XT or 9800XT, they merely used up less than 350w.

You will get better games or things out of ATI instead of nVIDIA due to power usages

I need help deciding... I'm either going to get the ASUS Radeon X850XT PE, or 2 ASUS GeForce 6800 Ultras (SLI.) The X850 is around $700, and the 2 Geforces are around $1400. Please help me decide which is better in PERFORMANCE, I am not looking for value.

A:ASUS ATI Radeon X850XT PE VS. nVIDIA GeForce 6800 Ultra SLI

Apples & Oranges

Well the only flaw in your thinking is that a 256MB has a snowball's chance in hell of competing with a 512MB dual video card setup. With SLI using the 6800 Ultra, you are not just doubling the memory, you are effectivly using two 1.1GHz GPUs to reak havok upon any game you could possibly throw at them. I know you said that you are not looking for best "value" but overall system performance. Hands down, the SLI config would be the obvious winner here.

With that said, the X850XT-PE is a smoking fast card. It boasts more features than the 6800 Ultra, and actually has a faster GPU when comparing against only one 6800 Ultra. For $700 you are no doubt gonna be the big boy on the block for quite a while. Most casual gamers are not going to drop that kinda look for a video card, for that matter, many of them may not have even spent that on their computer.

In summation, for raw brute-force power to handle anything you throw at it, the 6800 Ultra/SLI config is clearly the victor here.

Hi, I was wondering how I could turn my Geforce 6800 GT into an Ultra. I tried so many bios flashes and so many mods to the bios using NiBiTor v2.6 but every time i set the clocks to above Core: 400MHZ Mem: 1100mhz and run a game i end up with artifacts. I have great cooling on it Arctic Cooling NV5 Silencer Rev.3. I don't think it is because of the temperature because when i check it says 47 degrees celsius. But if i overclock the GT without Ultra bios flash it works up to Core:430MHZ Mem:1150mhz. All i want to do is to make my GT into an Ultra from 1.3 volts to 1.4volts as well and stable at the following clocks Core: 440mhz Mem: 1200mhz :giddy:

What brand?
What temps are you getting with the nv silencer without OC?
Have you tried
coolbits? If not D/L it below, unzip, then double click the reg file to load into registery. Lots of functionalality. You can test each setting gradually.

This sounds like a driver issue but I don't know: Basically, the problem is that Direct3D based games (Half-Life 2/3DMark05) hang-up on my machine. It renders a few frames but then freezes for about 30 seconds...renders a few more frames...freezes 30 secs and so on. OpenGL (Doom 3), on the other hand, runs just fine. I've upgraded to the latest ForceWare driver (I even tried using the uncertified ForceWare 71.20 from guru3d). I've flashed my BIOS and upgraded my chipset driver all to no avail. Nothing on my system is overclocked...unless it's a factory overclock I don't know about. Is there any way a hardware glitch on my video card would produce Direct3D problems but not affect OpenGL?

System specs:
EVGA gForce 6800 Ultra Extreme Edition
MSI K8N Neo2 (nForce 3 Ultra)
Athlon 3500+
1 gig of OCZ EL DDR PC-3200 Platinum Revision 2
WD 740GD Raptor
Turbo-Cool 425 Deluxe

Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

A:6800 Ultra Extreme Edition extremely choppy with Direct3D

I'm sure you've solved this problem by now but for anyone else that would happen upon this page, the problem is from lack of power. I run a 6800 Ultra that did exactly the same thing until I bought a new Ultra X-Connect 500w and all the issues magically dissappeared. Just an FYI.

Yesterday my Dell XPS Gen 2 laptop (from back in 2005) started getting some terrible display artifacts. They are there as soon as the computer comes on (at BIOS), but only when the screen is trying to display something (i.e. Not when the screen is on, but nothing to display). There is a variety of different artifacts, and I'm not sure what to call of them. Here are the ones I've noticed
shifting of single-pixel, small, vertical sections (e.g. I can see part of my mouse move on the left side of the screen when the mouse is on the right side)
blinking smiley faces and accented e's
complete disarray of colors
screen blackouts
artifacts accumulate in moving windows

Along with these, I've been getting some BSODs. The stop codes I can recall are 8E, 50, and EA. The BSOD pops up when I try to boot normally, but not when I boot in Safe Mode. The artifacts are still there in safe mode.

I've run a few diagnostics that I know to do, such as Dell's diagnostic utilities (from the F8 or F12 bootup menu) and Memtest86+. Memtest is still running, but I've gotten 5 passes with it. The dell diagnostics give me several errors. I don't know if anyone here knows how the Dell errors translate, but here are ones I've gotten:
5300:0119 - Detected a failure while writing and reading virtual memory. Video mode: 4h (320x200x4). Address B848h, expected to read 0h, but read FFFFFFFFFh instead. I get many many variations of this error.

A:Confirm a bad Nvidia GeForce 6800 Ultra

1. deleted to avoid further confusing the issue -
sorry... failed to note that it was laptop. Must be overtired.

2. You can you boot to safe mode?
If so, this should allow you to function with basic video drivers, and you may not have the artifacting.
Not a solution, but it will allow you to do some work with your system, perhaps to deal with bad drivers... or at least to backup your data.
Try changing resolution, and color settings (display modes) to see if you can "relieve" the issue to do basic work.

3. Check the use of Driver Sweeper.
This will help you to fully eliminate bad graphics drivers if they are at fault.

Perhaps Route44 will notice this thread an offer his thoughts too.
Also there is a video memory stress test. I will see if I can find the link and add it to this post.

Here is Furmark.
Furmark is recommended by Jonathan King, one of our BSOD team now.

.. on an ASUS K8N-E Deluxe, Athlon 64 3400+, 1gb PC3200 RAM.

My system regularly freezes with fastwrites enables, but works fine if I disable it.

So I have a few (well, four) questions:

1) Why is this hapenning? What is it about fastwrites which causes my system to crash?
2) Could I regard one or other bits of my hardware to be "faulty"?
3) Is there any software yet available which will enable me to use fastwrites and have a stable system?
4) Is this a common problem?

A:NVidia GeForce 6800 Ultra Fastwrite problems

This is a common problem with some video cards, and not something you should worry about.

This is a compatibility issue with some videocards, and mobo chipsets.

Just leave fastwrites off.

Faswrites are supposed to increase performance, but frequently cause stability issues.

If you do a google search for "fastwrites" you`ll see what I mean.

Hey all, I picked up a geforce 6800 ultra in December. Last week I noticed some weird artifacts when using 2D apps on the windows xp desktop (most notably quicken and IE). What happens is, for certain apps, every now and again, I'll get a whole horizontal line of pixels (or 2) across the screen to flicker. Occasionally, I get a bleeding effect too.

I thought it was the card, but I returned it and got a new one and the effect is still there.

It doesn't happen all the time and if I minimize the app and re-open it, it'll go away.

I've gotten the latest drivers, and my display hasn't caused me problems.

Well, I have had this computer for 2-4 weeks and I have had it freeze on me about 4 weeks and funcation very very slow

ASUS nForce2 Ultra 400 A7N8X-E Deluxe
with 120hd ata winxp

I am thinking it might be my HDD because there were quite a few times when I would hear something click as if my floppy drive was being accessed initially or something and the computer would start lagging and the HDD would be accessing like crazy then my computer would just freeze right where it was at on the screen. No mouse response, keyboard, ctrl+alt+del, nothing. Also the HDD light would be on steady after the freeze; however, I am not sure if it was being accessed. I don't remember.

What do you all think? Could a hard drive going bad cause the machine to freeze when a lot of applications are opened? One more thing to note about the HDD. When I am browsing through folders on my computer in the windows explorer every now and then when I request a folder to be opened it will take a substantial amount of time to load in which time my HDD is being accessed profusely.

I hope this information helps.

Please, if anyone has an idea as to what the culprit may be, let me know.

Nope, only SLI is supported on NVidia chipsets. You'd want either an AMD/ATI chipset based board or an Intel based boards that state Crossfire support. Or an Intel X58 chipset based board that supports both SLI and Crossfire. Or run a single card, or a single card with multiple GPU's like the Radeon 4850 X2.

Hi guys, back after a few months away from this great site/forum.

I have a question regarding the CHAINTECH VNF4/Ultra Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 Ultra ATX AMD Motherboard I was searching all over the web but can't seem to find out if this motherboard will support the new AMD 64 X2(dual core) 939 CPU? If anyone here can help me out, I'd be grateful. Thanks.

A:CHAINTECH VNF4/Ultra Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 Ultra ATX AMD Motherboard

Most nForce4 based motherboards support such CPUs but not all of them do so out-of-the-box. Make sure to have a motherboard from the latest production batch. If not, it might be handy to have a single-core to flash the BIOS in case it doesn't want to power up with the dual-core one.

At no point in time does the rendering completely stop it just jittered on every setting, with every driver. No matter what I did I couldn't fix it. So I figured the card was bad. I went and got the Ultra edition. Installed it and did the same thing. Well that weeded out that it was a card issue and since I didn't need that much power I returned it and got another plain 6800. Same thing! My next step was to try another mobo. Went with the same MSI just a different one. Same thing! Well ok, maybe CPU is having trouble... went and got the AMD 3700+. Yup, same thing! OK well maybe its a power issue... went with a Aspire gaming case that had a 500W PSU, Same thing!... Left scratching my head I said well it must be a RAM issue... went with Corsair TwinX Pro, same thing! WTF????

Hello this is my first time to the forums so I don't know what to expect in an answer.
Here is my situation, A friend of mine replaced his card and accidentaly knocked off a transister on the card (or at least thats what I tihnk it is ). I'm not knew to computers but I am new to the parts and components on the card. It was Small and a tan type color, it was on the bottem of the memory (or wut ever) that says samsung 407 on it. Every two blocks averages about 3-4 of those transistors. My friend also lost the transistor and the cooling block with a fan, but he said I can have the card if I fix it, I can buy my own cooling unit, but I just want 2 know how to fix the transistor that fell off, where I can puchase it, and any procedures or methods in replacing it.

Any and all info is much appriciated on this card, since my friend lost both parts, Nvidias warrantee doesn't cover it, I know I'm not using the most technical language, but I can understand most terms for computer technology.

I just don't want 2 waste this card just because of one small thing, also a dff friend tested it and it shuts down liek after a min or so. The entire comp I believe

A:6800 ultra and xp 3200 overheat

hi and welcome to techspot

those temps look fine to me.

athlon XPs are hot running CPUs, especially the high PR rated ones (like the 3200+) because they are the highest clocked processors in the XP line. 50c is normal and safe for an A-XP (they have a max temp of 95c)

i know nothing about that video card you have, but in general video cards have a higher heat tolerance than CPUs do, so 75c is high, but probably still safe.

you have three factors hurting your cooling:
1. your case is open, but is there a fan nearby blowing air into the open case?
2. you have a "noname cooler" that you say is better than stock... how is it better?
3. your vid card has an arctic "silencer", does this mean that it's fan-less or has a low speed fan? these will be nice and quiet, but will not cool as well.

I recently upgraded to the Leadtek A400 GeForce 6800 Ultra. I popped it in, loaded up BF2, cranked up the settings and away we go...well sort of. It was wierd. It would run beautifully (looked awesome, great framerate) for like 10-30 seconds, then lock up for like 3 seconds. I noticed that right as it got freed from the lockup, the hard drive light would start crunching away. For the life of me I can't figure out what it's trying to access that keeps jamming it up like that. This happened both single and multiplayer.

Now the really wierd thing is when I cranked it down to medium settings...it got worse! At this point I read the card's manual more closely and noticed that the two power connections it needs (yes two) should be from a dedicated line, not shared with other components. So I switched the power around. I also noticed what BF2 called the "latest drivers" weren't. So I updated from Nvidia as well. This seemed to have cleared up the problem with medium settings being worse. Medium settings run fine now. However, still getting the wierd, random, short lockups on high settings. And it's still accessing the hard drive right after it unfreezes. I was going to start enabling high detail on individual settings systematically, but it was near midnight so I called it quits.

Now I haven't had time to run any diagnostics yet. (Anyone know of any?) The only "test" I've run was 3DMark '05. I got a score of 5194. Whi... Read more

A:The 6800 Ultra or the X800 XT...for PCI Express

It doesn't matter if it is AGP or PCIE. Nvidia for open GL, ATI for 3d. There are plenty of places on the net that discuss this in detail. It depends on what you want. The 2 cards are pretty much equal. Mind you I am using an AGP card. PCI express isn't really outperforming AGP yet and most likely won't for at least another year minimum.

I've recently bought an NVidia 6800 Ultra which intermitently freezes during 3DMark05. The freezing causes everything, including mouse activity, to halt for a few seconds at a time.

I have monitored my system temperatures and note that they idle as follows:

NVidia 6800U GPU: 53degC
System temperature: 34degC
Athlon 64 6300+ temperature 45degC

And at peak (throught freezing spells):

NVidia 6800U GPU: 72degC
System temperature: 35degC
Athlon 64 6300+ temperature 57degC

If I run Prime95, then I can get the CPU up to 62degC, but no higher.

I believe the danger temperatures for the CPU to be 70degC+. However, I could not find anywhere what the max temp is for the GPU. though I note that the NVidia Tool offers a default threshold of 115degC.

I have swapped out the videocard for a Radeon 9800 Pro, and whilst the performance is obviously slower, it doesn't freeze.

I have aso experienced intermittent freezing whilst playing World Of Warcraft on full settings.

I have swapped out both Crucial memory sticks with no difference.

The motherboard is an ASUS K8N-E Deluxe.

My next courses of action is to lend the video card to a friend for him to test on his machine.

Anyway, you'd think this is a cut-and-dry case of videocard problems. Well, so did I. I sent the card back to Scan Computers International, whom I bought the card from, and who claimed to run the card through a half hour test on doom, far-cry, ,and 3dMark05 with... Read more

A:NVidia 6800 Ultra - Intermittent Freezing

Further symptoms:

The credits towards the end of 3DMark05 most repeatably demonstrate what is otherwise a very intermittent problem.

Turning AGP speed to 4x does not fix the problem.

Turning Fast Writes off DOES fix the problem (or rather works around it).

I'm not satisfied with this workaround as it degrades performance, but it does help to narrow down the possibilities of where the real fault could be.

Perhaps with incompatibilities on my K8N-E mboard and fast writes?

All help most appreciated!

Simple really. Some1 with a lota knowledge there, tell me what u think,
Will ATI X800 PRO or nVidia 6800 ULTRA will be better?

nVidia recons itz goina be the fastest card for a long time, but ATI says itz X800 will beat it.

I recon 6800 will woop a... lol, itz goina have 240 (I think) million transistors and 512 DDR3 RAM. Yeh, I know...

Hey all,

Purchased a BFG 6800 Ultra AGP recently and I am getting massive artifacts and glitching even just in windows. My temps are not high and I have read people having this same problem due to the BFG's overclocked gpu.

At first I was running the latest Omega Nvidia drivers and that did not allow me to change the clock speed of gpu or memory in 2d or 3d mode. Nothing would happen when I tried to test the settings.

So then I installed Riva Tuner and tried to change the clock speeds through there. When I hit test it pops up the message; "The driver failed to pass internal test with the clock frequencies you are about to set. Please decrease clock frequencies and try again.". Keeping in mind I am trying to underclock this seemed odd and no frequencies will test. Simply nothing happens when I hit test, it doesnt try and change display or anything.

So then I uninstalled the Omega drivers and decided to go with the latest forceware from nvidia. Installed them, reinstalled riva tuner but still get the same message when I try to change clock speed. I even tried going an older forceware but nothing?

This problem struck me as odd and dont know what could be causing it?

I seem to be able to change some clock speeds if I disable seperate 2D/3D clock settings in Riva Tuner, but then it claims my GPU is at 200 and Memory is at 599.

Dont know how they got that?

I went to pcpitstop and tested my system for performance...it said that there was a minor problem with my graphics card and that it was only running at about 50% compared to 11 others of the same make that were tested...I set my desktop to 1024 x 768 and it went even lower to 44%!

My computer specs are as follows:

Athlon 64 3400+ (2400 mhz)
1.5 gigs of ddr400 ram
Geforce 6800 Ultra 256 MB

I have the latest drivers and direct x 9.0 c installed...any suggestions?

If it's running fine & your games are silky smooth, you have nothing to worry about. It's the performance in games that counts, not benchmark scores.

I have an Nvidia 6800 Ultra card. Two months ago all mpeg, avi, etc. clips started playing in what I describe as ghostly images. Color is distorted with a gray and white tint. Happens on all saved clips, news clips, entertainment clips, etc. Initially thought my card was going bad but have ran various tests and AquaMark3 with excellent results. I also play games (DOOM3, HalfLife2, etc.) with excellent resolution. I did a clean install of operation system and everything from ground up but still have the same problem. Any suggestions for troubleshooting?

Having trouble installing new card on Dell 8250.
After uninstalling the previous card which was an Nvidia AGP card and hopefully all the drivers and maybe some things I should not have and trying to install the new card which is the card above in the subject line I continue to recieve the msg: Graphics Adapter Installed in the system is not compatiable with the current set of drivers. I have no other option on the installation screen of the cd supplied with the new card.
At the bottom of the main screen next to the words: Installed Graphics Adapter: the box states; (none found ).

Hi, I have been gone a long time; sorry I've been very busy with school and tests. But here it goes. I am trying to make a decision, between which to go with. The Koolance Exos 2 off ebay used in perfect condition for $50 or the Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme. The Koolance does not come with any waterblocks, but I am going to buy a Swiftech Apogee GT block. Now my question is, which one should I go with. I currently have a watercooling system, but its not so good; KingWin AS-3000. The CPU that I plan on using this on is in my sig; Opteron 180 @ 2.75GHz. Which would give me better temperatures, I want temperatures under 50 Celsius, as the Opteron's max temp should be 59 Celsius. With the current watercooler it gets up into the low 60s. Any advice, need some asap, since I need to make the decision quickly. Thanks

I see, any other opinions guys? Thanks

I just have recently changed the CPU (Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 2.83GHz) heatsink to Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme with a Noctua NF-P12 120mm. The memory is 2x2 Patriot Viper 1333 MHz DDR3 with a 7-7-7-20 timing. I have a hightower chassi (Mozart Tx) by Thermaltake.

Now I have monitored the CPU temperature and it has been between 47 C and 52 C. I am definately not satisfied and was expecting the CPU temp. to be well below 40 C. I only applied a size of a rice corn of Arctic Silver 5 thermal compound on the CPU and spreaded evenly.

Althogh, according to the Theemalright Ultra-120 Extreme manual I was supposed to apply thermal compound on the heatsink as well but I only applied Arctic Silver 5 on the CPU and thought that would do it.

Until today....
I took the heatsink off and removed the one week old thermal compound and applied thermal compound both on the heatsink and CPU, this time. I was hoping that the temperature would dropp but it still remains almost the same ranges between 44 C - 52 C. (Comparing with when I only applied thermal compound on the CPU the first time).

Now I do have a big tower with a great airflow inside of the chassi with two 120 mm chassi fans in the front and three 120 mm fans in the back. One of the fans that is in front of the chassi and sucks in air into the chassi is facing towords the heatsink fan but there is about 15 cm (5.9 inch) btween these two fans.

I've placed the Noctua NF-P12 fan so that the air sucks out away from th... Read more

I've just installed Wiin MCE (media centre) edition. I loaded up the latest realtek audio drivers. It detects everything. Plugged in my headphones in the green jack, it auto sensed it.
Played mp3s and heard nothing. Ran a speaker setup test that came with the realtek, and again, silence. Looked at the volume controls, and its all good.

I also attached a front panel audio to the motherboard, and that has no sound as well.

Anyone have any ideas whats going on? I need sound

A:No Audio from my nForce4 Ultra motherboard (ECS KN1 Extreme)

Try going into Control Panel, then open up Sound and Audio Devices. Select the Devices tab, if no Audio devices are selcted then the drivers are not installed correctly and that'll be why you have no sound. I'm not too familiar with Media Centre, so i hope it's still the same for you.

Well it seems my video will not work properly with windows XP. I have a GeForce 2 Ultra. I downloaded the 21.83 drivers for XP and still no luck. I tried playing a video just a few minutes ago and it made my computer restart, when it loaded it said my video card was responsible. Counterstrike will not work also. I can get into the menus and what not but when I go to join a game or start a game it goes blank and freezes. Can someone please help me. thank you.

was think about the thermal right because its known for better cooling that the zalman..but the zalmans a LITTLE more compact...anyone know how much of a temp difference these fans would make? 5C? or more? for the thermal right..
also i got a full atx case, so im guessing i can jam it in there...maybe

check if it might fit and give me a heads up...theres an image below

I believe it is a driver problem. I thought I fixed the problem earlier but it still does this. I enter motocross madness 2 and enter a race, it may go 20 laps before it quits on me or it may go 2. It might depend on the track itself or something, but it still quits. It also happens with Counterstrike as well. When MCM2 quits though I get no error, with Counterstrike, I get an Illegal operation error. I've messed around with drivers quite a bit. I am running Direct X 8.0, maybe it's an issue with that. I've thought about going back to the drivers that came with the box, but they are not here right now. Anyone know where I could get them? Leadtek and Winfast made it I believe. I also downloaded this thing from Leadtek's site for the GeForce 2, but I'm not sure if it worked, or what it did. My friend said it probably wouldn't be a heating issue because he said it would probably just freeze. Can someone please help me? Would installing Direct X 8.0a help? Different drivers? Or if you think it's a heating issue then tell me that to. I am running a T-Bird 1200, GeForce2 Ultra (Not really sure which drivers I am running since I have switched around so much lately), Yamaha sound card if that means anything. Please try to send me in the right direction, this is bothering me. Thank you

Iv just bought a Geforce 3 ti500 ultra for a ASUS A7N8X-X Mobo. A couple of days ago my display started showing vertical stripes from the moment the computer is switched on. These stripes are of varying colours and tend to change colour/pattern continuously. There is visual although the stripes and stuff make it really high contrast. the screen res and color on desktop were messed up. They were set to 6-bit color and a really low screen res.

bust graphics card? or something else

any ideas?

There are certain screen modes that give me problem. I want to play Action Supercross that uses DOS, so I play and the screen has vertical lines that are dotted and it doesn't look good. The game doesn't play very good either, and it's not very demanding. Can anyone help me? I am running win XP and the loadup screen that shows the little meter has blue lines. It seems like it might have something to do with the screen refreshing. Please someone help me this is very annoying.

I have installed this card in my system and I think that it will suit my needs quite well.

However, I have noticed that the fan on the card does not always spin. It seems to kick on only when the card is being "worked" such as when the screen saver comes on, or a game is started.

This seems like reasonable normal operation for power savings, but I just want to make sure.

Can anyone advise?

FYI: I found out from PNY support and the nvidia forum that this is indeed normal operation for this card.

Gigabyte nf4 Ultra or DFI nf4 Ultra of MSI NEO4 PLatinum?

I will be running a system:

AMD 64 3200+ or 3500+
2 x 1Gb Corsair Value ram
2 x 250Gb Seagate NCQ
LEadtek 6600GT Extreme
Tagan 480W

Now my question is, which board is faster, more stable, has better equipment ... ?

I will NOT overlock my system, so in the first place I need a motherboard that is stable and doesn't couse too much problems ...

Which of these two do you reccomend?

A:Gigabyte nf4 Ultra or DFI nf4 Ultra

I'm pretty much building the same PC you are. I still need to decide on the videocard, either the 6600Gt or x700pro.

For the motherboard, I've decided to go with DFI. I haven't seen reviews comparing both, but they seem pretty much to deliver the same performances. I like the design of the DFI better, but the main thing that made me choose the DFI was the number of PCI-e slots. The gigabyte model has only 2 PCI-e 1x slots and 1 16x slot, DFI offers 1 1x slot, 1 4x slot and 2 16x slots. So I should be able to use PCI-e parts more easily in the next few years.

Feature wise, gigabyte offers 8 SATA ports(4 on 3.0Gb/s) while DFI has 4 on 3.0Gb/s only. Both seem to offer 10 USB ports and 2 lan connector.

There's not much difference specs wise, it pretty much comes down to who you trust more and price wise.
