Acer V15 Nitro VN7-592G Speakers crackling noise

Q: Acer V15 Nitro VN7-592G Speakers crackling noise

This has been driving me mad for a couple of days now. I usually work in the evening after my family goes to sleep. I am sitting in a very quiet room and predominantly just type. Occasionally a notification sound would play through the built in speakers and just before that a crackling sound would be emitted. It happens every time system plays any sound, just before going online speakers would just give out tiny crackling sound. After some research I have found out that this is due to the sound card on motherboard going into power saving mode and once it would go back online that distorted crackling would appear. A problem quite popular amongst laptop owners with Realtek sound on the motherboard. Most of the time the solution is to download a new Realtek driver from the Realtek website, go to the HD Audio Manager and turn off power management from the settings menu. It does indeed work as I have tested myself.After installing latest Realtek drivers from their website and disabling power management the crackling is gone as card never sleeps. But unfortunately it also uninstalls Dolby features that come standard with Acer audio drivers. Native drivers have Dolby but they don?t have power management settings in HD Aduio Manager. So right now I can either have native driver with Dolby sound (which I really like) and crackling (that honestly drives me crazy) or Realtek direct drivers without Dolby and no crackling. Anyone knows how I can install Dolby separately. All my attempts of installing them on top of the Realetk driver end in missing ?PCEE4? dialogue.Any thoughts?

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Hi, The cracking is done as you told by the latest drivers from Realtek. I think they screwed something up. There were some reports in this topic:http://community.acer.com/t5/V-and-VN-Series-Laptops/VN7-592G-blue-screen-after-installed-Windows-10... Regarding Dolby, well download the drivers from the Acer webpage http://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/drivers And inside there is a folder called DS1 and PCEE4. In these folders are the installation files for Dolby. Run the installation from one of these folders and it will install Dobly, but it will not replace your audio drivers.

Hi, My 3 month old Acer VN7-592G-747C notebook running Windows 10 randomly reboots from time to time.  I have only recently experienced it but I have not installed any new drivers in the recent past. I am not stating this as a fact but I assume that the reason why I only now (after 3 months of using the notebook) I came across this issue is that until now the notebook was always plugged in.  When it's on battery what happens is that Windows loads while I do regular tasks (nothing demanding, web browsing, opening Word, etc.) after a few minutes it reboots with no advance warning of any kind. Windows 10 and all the drivers of the notebook including the BIOS firmware are fully up-to-date. Any idea what can be causing this? Thanks!

Any ideas?

How to understand this? Have you noticed this issue from the first day?

Have you tried to test sound quality using headphones, different ways to test internal speakers, anything?
Please post a bit more information. This can help us to understand the problem.

This has been happening for 2 years, but as of earlier this month, my audio has been acting up MUCH more than it used to. Now, whenever I listen to any sound (music, watch videos, etc.) my speakers make this crackling/buzzing/stutter/lag sound every few seconds which makes me never want to use my audio because it is so annoying. I looked up this problem and many people mentioned that by using earphones the buzzing stops, but not for me. Also, I installed and uninstalled a bunch of the drivers that Dell told me to update (IDT Audio, Quickset64, and the BIOS) but this hasn't made any difference. I feel like this is a software problem but I wanted to hear professional opinions to see if it actually is.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

A:Crackling noise in audio on both speakers and headphones

Hi dmang24,
I appreciate for the drivers update. I suggest that you run diagnostics on hardware components, since both speaker and headphones are having crackling noise even after drivers update.
To run diagnostics restart the system and at the Dell logo tap the F12 key every two seconds. This will start the One-time boot menu. Using arrow keys select ‘Diagnostics’ and hit enter. This will run diagnostics on the hardware components of the system which may take around 5 minutes. Please reply to this post in case of any error message.

Hey Guys...

So my Packard Bell Easy Note MX37-S-200 has suddenly started making persistent " Crackling " and " Popping" noises from the moment I boot it. The noise is coming from the speakers and the sound is now distorted. I have very recently got it back from the repair shop after having my AC jack replaced... I would really like to rule everything out before I start pointing fingers at the repair guy

Things I have tried - Disabling sound driver - Noise was still there and laptop just installed it again.

Running avast scan through it - Scan picked up nothing.

Played with the sound setting - Nothing changed noise still there.

Plugged in PC speakers - Noise still coming from laptop but sound came out of the speakers fine.

I have noticed also that when the laptop first starts up the noise is louder and more spaced out. I'm wondering maybe whether it is the fan? But I don't no why the noise would be coming from the speakers.

Would really appreciate any help
Thank you

A:Crackling noise coming from laptop speakers + sound distorted

My guess is that based on the information provided that the wires for the speakers have either been damaged or crossed in some way where they are touching something they shouldn't causing distortion. My advice would be to take it back and tell them whats going on and make sure to have them fix it for free if they opened it and caused this problem.

I have recently purchased Acer V15 Nitro VN7-592G, I am using it for video editing and rendering.i7-6700HQGeForce GTX 960M GeForce GTX 960M8GB DDR4 SDRAMDuring rendering the temperatures of the processor increase to high 90?s C, sometimes peaking at 97C. Cool Boost is on, power profiles are on active cooling. Laptop is on a table in a room with a 24C temperature. So to summarize: Idle ? 40/50CLoad ? 90/97CRoom Temp ? 24C After a while I have decided to repaste the cpu and gpu as I got too worried about stressing the package so much. An hour or so of fiddling and old paste was gone and new Arctic Silver 5 was applied. My only concern was that CPU area was way smaller than the heatsink, original paste was smudged all over the heatsink and on the CPU. I applied paste on the CPU only, guessing that the remainder of the heatsink would stay clean and cause no issues. Few stress tests in and a rendered video the temperatures went down: Idle ? 30/34CLoad ? 80/90CRoom Temp ? 24C At this point I have discovered another issue or so it seems. Differences between core temperatures are substantial during load. Idling they are all at 30C to 34C. At load though it is a different story: Core 0 ? 90CCore 1 ? 73CCore 2 ? 89CCore 3 ? 66CPackage ? 90C That just looks bizarre. Should I reapply the CPU paste and put it no the heatsink as well? Any ideas, thoughts or comments?

My microphone doesn't work at all. I only have the microphone array listed as a recording device. It used to work fine, but then one day just stopped working. I've downloaded the latest drivers from the website (acer website) using the latest realtek drivers, but that also doesn't work. Any help would be appreciated.

A:VN7-592G Nitro Windows 10 microphone not working

Make sure that the microphone that you are using is not disabled and is set as default in the computer. Try these steps:a) Right click on the volume icon and select ?Recording devices?.b) Right click on the microphone showing up and select, ?Show disconnected devices? and ?Show disabled devices?.c) Select ?Microphone? and click on ?Properties? and make sure that the microphone is enabled.d) You might also check if the microphone that you are using is set as default. You can test the mic using Voice Recorder to make sure it is working within Windows.
If it worked before and now you are having problems, you might try restoring Windows back to a previous working configuration. Here is a link to those steps: http://acer.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/38202/~/windows-10%3A-how-to-restore-windows-using-....

Hi. I bought my aspire v15 nitro vn7-592g last week. The first one was faulty and i was given replacement at store. For a few days it was great, but now the touchpad is out if control. It will be compliant for a good while, then without warning it will start moving across the screen by itself and right clicking on things. Then menus are opening by themselves and I can't regain control. Other times the cursor will move in the wrong direction and freeze for a second before jerking across and doing random movements. I basically lose control of the computer. I checked to see if there are driver updates, but it is up to date. When I restart the computer it may work fine for a few hours or a few minutes and the problem will kick in. Once it does, there is no stopping it. My touchpad is very clean. The computer is new and I haven't installed any extra software since buying it. I urgently need help. Thanks for your advice.

A:Uncontrollable mousr - Aspire v15 nitro vn7-592g

There are chances that the issue is with your touchpad drivers. You are advised to download and install the latest touchpad drivers by using the link below:http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/drivers Alternatively, you can also reinstall the touchpad drivers by following the steps below:1. Press "Windows key" + "R" keys. This will open "Run" window.2. In the Run window, type devmgmt.msc and hit "Enter" key. This will open "Device Manager" window.3. In the Device Manager window, expand "Mice and other pointing devices" and double-click on your touchpad.4. In the mouse properties window that comes up, click "Driver" tab.5. Click "Uninstall" and "OK" to uninstall touchpad drivers.6. Restart your computer and Windows should install the touchpad drivers automatically. Alternatively, you can install them manually by referring to the link above. If the issue still persists, you are advised to take your computer to nearest Acer service center for further assistance. To do this, the following link can be helpful:http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/service Hope this will help you.

Hello all, new to posting but have been checking out alot of your posts over the past few months, finally found something that I couldn't get an answer for so I'm hoping that I can get an answer here.

About 2 weeks ago I began to notice a crackling sound coming from my speakers, it began as a slight crackle and eventually increased in volume. Now the weird thing is that it doesn't make the sound when I'm listening to music, but does when I am playing most games and watch movies using windows media player. I've tested out two sets of speakers so far and both produce crackling when plugged into this system, but do not produce any feedback on my laptop when plugged in, I'm not sure whats going on but I would certainly appreciate any help!

My current system:
Windows XP Home
2.6ghz Amd Processor
Ati Radeon 9800 Pro
Creative SB Audigy 4 Pro
2gb Ram

If I left anything pertinent out let me know and I can add it. I thank you all in advance for any information you can give!

Hello Everybody:

Slightly over a month ago, I bought a Gateway Desktop pc at Office Depot. It has Windows Vista, Home Premium, the only browser is Internet Explorer 7. Well, about two weeks ago, the processor began to make a crackling sort of noise, although it works well. However, since the noise started, I've begun to worry that the noise will get worse and result in the computer not working in the future. I phoned Office Depot and they won't replace it with a new one, even though I have only had it for a month and a few days, which seems incredible, so Gateway has suggested that I take it in for diagnostics and repair.
The noise happens whether the computer is idle or not, but seems to happen more when I'm not using it, or it's idle.

Any ideas? Thanks.

I just bought a brandnew Hp 15 laptop core i3. Then when I booted it on and leave it for a few minutes, I started hearing this noise coming from the right side of the keyboard part of the laptop when you are facing in front of it. Is this normal? Or is there any software tweeks that could eliminate this noise?

   About 2 weeks ago I sent my laptop to warranty - faulty motherbord - they changed my motherboard whit a new one. After I received the laptop I noticed a very low performance for my video card.    For example, in world of warcraft: legion before repair I had 100-120 fps whit settings close to middle now I have 24-30 fps whit lowest game settings and grafic card set for performance. And I check, the game is running with High-Performance NVIDIA processor not whit Intel processor.    What should I do? Any suggestion? Should  I send it back to warranty? But how I prove this under performing  of my grafic card?

Is the V15 Nitro Black Edition's Thunderbolt 3 port active or passive? And will Acer release a BIOS update for this model to support eGFX? I want to get an external graphics dock to pair with this laptop when they're released! From Anandtech:"Not just any laptop/desktop with Thunderbolt 3 can support an external GPU, as there are specific hardware and software requirements, which is why the Blade Stealth is the first qualified laptop. In particular, laptops need to support what is being called the Thunderbolt 3 external graphics standard, or eGFX for short. The eGFX standard in turn requires that vendors implement the necessary extensions for external graphics into their BIOS, including functionality necessary to support plug ?n play operation. Also required is v.16 (or later) of the Thunderbolt firmware, Windows 10, and an active (not passive) Thunderbolt cable for bandwidth reasons."

A:Acer VN-592G and Thunderbolt 3

I reas, forgot where, that the Acer Thunderbolt port can not be used for charging and that was all, except Here acer say you can charge the V Nitro with it.http://www.acer.com/ac/en/SG/content/series/aspirevnitro The active/ passive concerns the cable to connect to ? with.

Recently Ive been hearing an electrical sounding crackling noise coming from my PC or my extension cord, not exactly sure which as they are right next to each other. Ive been looking online and found a few things but nothing that really helps.

Its not an audio crackling sound it sounds more electical, its not a buzzing sound either, but a crackling/ticking sound. I dont think its a fan because its not constant, it seems to occur randomly. I havent had any problems such as crashes, errors, bsods etc. I also cant smell burning or anything like that, so im a bit confused! All help will be apreciated!

A:Strange Crackling/Ticking Noise

You should identify from where the sound is coming
If sounds comes from your speakers, then it sometimes happens when someone switches off or switches on lights or fans in another room.

I got a new laptop from bestbuy and the specs are: i7-6500u 2.5GHz, 8gb ram, windows 10 64-bit (no touch screen). It has been making a subtle (gets really loud in quiet rooms) crackling noise which seems to be coming from the processor. At first i thought it will stop but it has been 3 months and it got louder. If you know anything about this or if this happened to you feel free to let me know.

A:processor making crackling noise

> it has been 3 months and it got louder. Are you sure it is the CPU?Could it be the fan near the CPU? If it's only been 3 months, exercise the "warranty" by taking it back to BestBuy, and have them diagnose & repair it. When was the most-recent time that the disk-drive was "defragmented" ?As the files on the disk-drive get more fragmented, the disk-drive makes more noise, when moving the read/write mechanism back-and-forth, over greater distances. What brand of disk-drive? Toshiba? Seagate? Western Digital?

My laptop makes a sort of crackling noise whenever it is doing something, almost like an electrical noise i.e. during start up, opening a new app or searching for something on google. It isn't a problem with the audio, and I believe it isn't a problem with the fan as the sound comes from a different part of the laptop as the fan.  Is this most likely normal and something that I should put up with or shall I take it back? Thanks in advance!

So whenever I play certain video games (Usually newer ones with better graphics: GTA 4, Worms Revolution, Skyrim) I get this strange crackling noise. For about the first 10 minutes of playing, everything runs fine. Then it starts to make this noise, and it goes on and off, and while it's on, it slows down the game severely. I am not totally incompetent with computers, but I need help on what to do for this.

I have tried these things:
Used CCleaner to clean my computer
Used Regcleaner to clean my registry
Tried various fixes for the games specifically
Tried to speed up my PC (Which seems to make the games run faster, but it doesn't fix the noise)
Cleared a lot of space on my PC
I have tried many other things over time, even used system restore. But nothing that I do works . I can still play older games which is nice, but I would like to fix this. Thanks ahead of time to everyone, I am new to this forum so hopefully I am doing this right. Here is my computer information if that helps at all:

A:Strange crackling noise problem

Using Registry Cleaners is often the cause of the problem, rather than the solution!

I suggest that you undo anything that said cleaners may have done - either using the undo options they should have, or using System Restore.

Then start by addressing prossible driver problems with your sound card by updating to the latest available frm the manufacturer's website

If you've tried to speed up your PC by overclocking - reset everything to normal settings.

What's running at startup? - check MSCONFIG to see the basic list

So when i got my laptop the sound wasnt that bad i though ehh its just some out of the box sounds itll go away, no its gotten worse. So i decided to ask my dad and he said its just the hard drive working and then i look on the webistes and ive seen someone saying its the processor idling and that when you do more activity it goes which in my case is kinda true it almost goes away it just gets alittle quieter and slower, the sound is coming from the right side of my laptop and its like it almost sounds like a disk drive starting kinda thats the closest thing i can compare it to..

Recently I've noticed that be it Winamp, Youtube video, streaming audio, whatever... if I have Firefox (and tested it in IE), if I'm loading a page, I hear "crackling" noises, and stuttering until the page is done loading.

My XPS 630 details are as follows:

* XPS 630, Intel Core2 processorQ6600 (2.40Ghz,1066FSB) w/Quad Core Technology and 8MB cache

* 4GB Corsair Dominator DDR2 SDRAM 800MHz -4 DIMMs

* nVidia GeForce 9800GX2 1024MB

* 500GB NCQ SATA Hard Drive (7200 RPM) w/ 16MB DataBurst Cache

* Vista, PC-Restore, Dim/Insp

* Realtek High Definition Audio

* Microsoft Windows Vista SP1 Home Premium Edition, English

* 4X Blu-Ray, DVD+R/RW, CD-RW CD-RW Drive
What could be causing this, and how would I go about resolving this issue?
