I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I recently acquired a Thinkpad yoga 15 laptop and while playing with the options I realised it completely lacked Bluetooth functionality. I have tried updating the Intel PROSet Bluetooth software, updating the network adapter drivers, disabling the adapter altogether and reenabling it through the BIOS. I don't know if the Bluetooth adapter is supposed to appear as a different adapter in the Device Manager or if only the Intel Dual-Band AC 7265 is supposed to show up (under the Advanced tab, Bluetooth is labeled as Active). No bluetooth option is present in the PC and devices options menu... I even reset to factory settings in case it was an issue with a third party program, but even there, same situation. Am I missing something? Please help me to get this feature working!

I had the same problem as well, i fixed mine by going to the intel site and downloading the update software. downloading the driver didnt work for me. as soon as i used the update software the bluetooth driver turned on and i was good to gohttps://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/84178/Intel-Wireless-N-7265

I hope someone can help me.  I am having an issue with connecting my Lenovo ThinkPad X380 Yoga to a USB-C Dock.  I have installed all of the drivers and enabled Thunderbold 3 within BIOS, however only the USB, LAN connections work when I plug the dock into the Laptop.  The two displays that are plugged into the dock via Display Port do not work and the laptop seems not able to detect the displays.  Things I have tried: Plugged in only one monitor using both VGA and DP but still nothing.Uninstalled and reinstralled the drivers.Ran the Lenovo support tool to make sure all drivers on the laptop are up to date.Power cycled both the laptop and dock. As I said the USB devices plugged into the dock seem to work fine as does the LAN.  I have tried to update the firmware on the dock however I keep getting the following message: ThinkPad USB-C DP Hub version can't be checked! Please power cycle the Dock to try again. I have powercycled but still have the same message.  I am all out of ideas as to why the displays do not work.   Any ideas?

So I'm really at a loss with this issue.  I've done so much troubleshooting to no avail.  Removed soundcard and bluetooth and reinstalled.  Installed new drivers.  Deleting and repairing devices. Changing the WiFi to "Prefer 5.2GHz band".  Other troubleshooting based on discussions on other forums... The Problem. Brand new Thinkpad P71.  I have two of the same external speakers I've used with my iPhone via Bluetooth to stream audio and never had a problem.  The speakers are the Oontz 3XL. When I connect with my P71, it can go 24 hours or two minutes, but it will just suddenly stop playing audio.  The blue light on the speaker will turn off.  To get it to work again, I'll have to close the audio app and reconnect the Bluetooh.  Then it will run for anywhere from one minute to 24 hours and disconnect again. I also just bought a brand new Thinkpad X1 Yoga (2nd gen).  Exact same problem.  Did all the same troubleshooting. I mostly stream Sirius XM from a browser (and have tried different browsers as well).  I also play audio from iTunes.  The weird thing with iTunes is that when this happens, the Play/Pause button in the software will also stop working, unless I close the app and restart. It's definitely a Lenovo problem, since I am encountering the same problem on both systems.  I don't know if this could be related to BitDefender and/or Malware Bytes (both are inst... Hi.

Do you see the Bluetooth recognized on the "Windows Device Manager"?
Since you booted Linux and bluetooth is working I don't think it may be a hardware issue like you said.

Just in case did you updated the BIOS from the support site of your model ? There are some updated on the BIOS related to Window 10 compatibility.

I'm not sure which Bluetooth device you have on it. Is it the one from Intel. Maybe you can an updated driver on the Intel site, or sometimes I use DriverEasy (not from Lenovo) to help me find a newer driver on their database.

I hope this helps in something.

Hi, Starting July 26, there occurred some problems with the Bluetooth of both of my ThinkPad laptop, one is P70 and the other is X1 Carbon 4gen. The main issue is: every time I connect my Bluetooth mouse (Logitech MX Master) and/or Bluetooth game controller (Xbox one controller), after a random amount of time, they would disconnect automatically. And to re-connect them, I have to first switch off and then switch on the toggle controlling Bluetooth in ?Settings?->?Device?->?Bluetooth & other devices?. Even after re-connect, after some time, they would disconnect again. And here are a few other findings might be helpful:The time between connection success and connection failure is random. Hello, I recently updated my BIOS for this laptop to the current version (1.40), and now I'm having problems with the stability of my system (god do I regret it). I used this update utility here: https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/ds111756  Now, whenever I start up my system, a Thinkvantage screen pops up briefly, followed by a screen that says "(A7) Me FW Downgrade - Request MeSpiLock Failed". I can manage to boot into either OS I have on here after that. But, when I put the laptop into sleep mode, upon waking it will just have a blank screen, followed by 4 beeps in short succession of each other, 4 times. The only way to get past this is to power down the laptop via holding the power button, and then rebooting back into the same instance of behavior described above.  I haven't had much luck finding any solutions, and I'm a little afraid to try anything since I don't want to completely brick my system. Looking for any suggestions, please. Thank you for your time. ~ Brooks

Hi Im considering buying a TY260, with the number20FES0DT00 Is it possible to upgrade the RAM to 16gb (as it currently has 4gb) and the ssd? I remember seeing somewhere that there was an issue with RAM soldered to the unit, is this true? Many thanks

A:Thinkpad Yoga 260 - upgrade

The SSD can be upgraded.  I have a ThinkPad Yoga 260 that I upgraded to 16GB, but there are complications.  I believe that there was difficulty with interference from WWAN antennas and RAM modules, so the models that come with the antenna wires have soldered RAM.  It looks to me like that model doesn't have WWAN so I would guess it has socketed RAM, but I have no way to be sure without looking inside.

I recently purchased a P40 Yoga and am happy with it, however I have problem with my Wifi + Bluetooth which I have not had before. I have always used Bluetooth and Wifi together with no problems. THE PROBLEM:When I turn on my Bluetooth, Wifi disconnects immediately. No networks are found anymore.  I have been using the same Wifi connection, so no changes there. I assume this is not an interference problem, because it has always worked great, so it must be a software problem. I also noticed that I have quite a weak connection although I'm close by the router What I have done:- Uninstalled Bluetooth and let windows reinstall- Reinstalled driver for Wifi- Install lastest driver for Wifi from Intel (19.20)- Checked router (channels [due to interference], proximity, etc.) What else could I do?

I have a TP S1 Yoga (Model 20CDCTo1WW) running Windows 8.1 Pro 64bit. I utilize it mostly at work and have it hooked up to a Thinkpad Onlink Pro Dock.  I use the dock to run two external monitors, for connecting to our network (through an ethernet cable) and utilize the USB ports on the front/back to hook up a wireless keyboard/mouse, for powering my phone and for thumbdrives.  I had the problem of the Onelink having port "flapping" issues (network would disconnect and connect at random times) as discussed elsewhere in these forums.  The solution that I found was to update the bios.

I proceeded to attempt to update the bios (which I had not done since I purchased it in January 2014).  The current bios version is: GQET32WW (1.12), 1/22/2014.  I downloaded the TP Yoga bios update utility for Windows 8.1 (64-bit), Version 1.18.  I read the README and then ran the utility.  It installed the utility software to a location on the local drive ("c:" ) and then proceeded.  I went through the setup screens, selecting the "Update ThinkPad BIOS" clicking through a few more text boxes (with the warning about not powering off, keeping it plugged in, etc) until it asked to reboot. I clicked OK to reboot, which it did.  This is the next thinkg I seen on the screen:

Hi guys, I have no idea what's happening with my Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga S1 (it's about 3.5 years old, its warranty just expired). Every time I reboot, I get this weird message saying "Configuration changed, please reboot the machine...". I then proceed to reboot the machine and everything works but the bios options are always resetted! This makes the laptop extremely unusable for me as I always swap the fn/ctrl keys so that I don't have to learn a new keyboard every time I switch computers. If I go back and change the option, it works fine, but the next reboot it does the same message again and I have to reconfigure the bios at EVERY boot. I'm lucky this option is the only one I changed, otherwise someone that would have changed the boot order/graphics settings/passwords etc. would be in a much worst situation than me...At first this seemed like a typical bios battery being out of juice so that the config can't stay saved, but I've now changed the bios battery twice with new ones and this doesn't change anything... It's been working perfectly for 3 years but now it just suddenly stopped working for that reason (by not working I mean the bios that keeps resetting itself, I can still boot to my main OS just fine after). If anybody has any suggestion that would be greatly appreciated. I thought about flashing the bios but afaik it's the latest one, and anyway as I'm only running GNU/Linux I can't run the .exe tool to update it (off-topic but please lenovo have another way to u... Hi and thanks for reading. After running updates through Lenovo Companion, I tried to run a game, and noticed that my performance was terrible. It was than that I noticed that my fans weren't working anymore, and the GPU was throtteling.I've tried a lot of different things. The fans just never spin up, not even on cold boot like they used to.I've looked around the forums for solutions (this was similar, amongst others), and tried running Lenovo Fan Test, which just gives me "Fan Unavailable". Other monitoring applications tell me there simply is no fan available, or the thing is running at 0 rpm, which is accurate.I read that fan control is part of the BIOS, so I checked, and I have the lastest version installed (1.14/1.24 as mentioned). The people from the Thinkpad yoga 12 thread suggested downgrading the bios. I tried different version but that just gives me the ol' "Secure Flash Authentication Failed" message. I have found the knowledge base articles telling me to turn off "Secure RollBack Prevention" in the BIOS. I went and had a look, and it was already disabled. I toggled it a couple of times, tried setup defaults, and "Secure Rollback Prevention" Enabled and Disabled to make sure, but everything I tried simply gave the same result: When I try to do a rollback, secure flash authentication fails. Period. The device doesn't have a CD drive, and I've tried running the flash tool from the ISO on a USB stick, which did run, but told me the firmware wasn't suitable for my device... Read more

Hi! We have a number of ThinkPad Yoga 11e, most of them are about 1.5 years old and we're currently updating their Windows 10 image and BIOS. Imaging process completes fine, but updating the BIOS has caused us a lot of issues. When updating BIOS from within Windows with the latest BIOS Update Utility (1.26) from Lenovo's website the laptops crash with a blue screen of death (BSOD). We then tried all previous BIOS versions (from 1.10 and up), but they all crashed too. The current BIOS version on the laptops is 1.10, but even that failed. We initially ran the installer from our network drive with the installer file renamed for easier identification. We have since tried renaming the installer file back to the original name and running it locally. Have also tried running it only with wireless enabled, running only with Ethernet enabled. At one point we thought there might have been another installation process running in the background (drivers, Windows Update), so made sure that had all completed. The BIOS upgrade still crashed the laptop. We have been unable to pinpoint any of the above scenarios to be the culprit, as now some of them work randomly. Two machines side by side, one will work and the other one will fail. We're pulling our hair out with this one. Has anyone else had this experience and have you found what steps need to be taken to successfully complete the BIOS upgrade every time?

I have a ThinkPad Yoga with a dead mainboard. My ThinkPad is the i5-4200U / 4GB model, and the mainboard says 'LA-A341P' on it. I've found a replacement mainboard online, with part number 03X5234. However, I have also found what appears to be the next model up from my board - an i7-4600U / 8GB model, part number 04X5478. Will the better model work in my laptop? Or should I play it safe and just buy the weaker one?

A:ThinkPad Yoga S1 Mainboard Upgrade

Depends what you want... I actually want an i5 in my laptop because the i7 is overkill. In my case I also have a desktop PC with an i7 for doing video processing... So, I would prefer a less powerful chip to carry around with better battery life, less fan noise, etc. Rather than replace your system board with an i7, why not get yourself a whole new i7 gaming laptop for $200 from China if that is what you need?  If you have a read of the hardware maintenance manual there appears to be no difference between any of the system boards with regards to installation, so really it is your choice as to what tradeoff between portability and power you want to make. Usually the i7 boards are a bit more expensive... https://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc/pccbbs/mobiles_pdf/s1_yoga_hmm_en_sp40a26742_01.pdf

Dear all, I would like to upgrade the touchscreen on the Thinkpad Yoga 260 - I have the 1366x768 model (a long and annoying story!) and I really want the 1080 screen - for obvious reasons. Or potentially worse given that there are touch-screen issues involved too? Looking around at replacement panel assemblies they instruct not to use if the present resolution is wrong (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/12-5-FHD-LCD-LED-Touch-Screen-Assembly-for-Lenovo-ThinkPad-Yoga-260-1920X1...) - it is just these particular panels, or am I screwed? Any success stories would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Tim

Hello all,For quite a while now, I've been looking to upgrade my SSD in my X1 Yoga.  As you may know, the X1 Yoga was available with either a SATA-based SSD or a PCIe-based SSD (NVMe).  Unfortunately, information about compatibility isn't easy to come by.  In fact, I never found a concrete answer to the question I have been asking all along:  Can an X1 Yoga (i5-6200U model) ordered with a SATA-based SSD be upgraded to an NVMe drive?  I found a lot of 'No' answers online, but with no proof of that actually being the case.  The only cases I found of people upgrading their SSDs were folks with the i7 system boards.  A few people have mentioned that Lenovo's official answer (when they asked) about the matter is that when you order it with a SATA SSD, you cannot upgrade to an NVMe drive.   I didn't want to believe that they'd have a different part number for an i5-6200U board w/ 8 GB RAM for an SATA-based system versus an NVMe system.  The slot physically accepts an M-keyed NVMe drive, despite the SSD in there being a B+M keyed drive.  The BIOS also has a boot option for an NVMe drive.   So, I took the plunge (and risk) and bought an NVMe drive, and am very pleased to report that it works just fine!  There was no drama.  The only thing I had to do was to change the boot option to boot from the NVMe disk instead of the built-in SATA one.   I can't speak for the newer models, but mine (20FQ, i5...
