What does T & L capable video mean?

Q: What does T & L capable video mean?

The kid bought a game, and it says it has to have 32 meg video memory and be 3D T & L capable. We don't have a seperate video card but onboard graphics. If he can't run it on his system I'd like to find out before he opens it. If he doesn't open the game he can take it back.

Any ideas?

Preferred Solution: What does T & L capable video mean?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I've read somewere that some video cards have video out for interface with a home television set or VCR. My computer's video card does'nt. I wish I could watch a DVD out from my computer into my television set.

Both my VCR and television have the yellow video in jack. My television also has the S-video in jack. Are there any cables available that are capable of this interface with the computer's video out port?
Any tricks, ideas, or suggestions other than having to buy a new video card for my computer?

I have a friend who needs a high end laptop to edit video from a GoPro Hero4 camera

It is suggested :
For higher resolution videos (1080p 60fps and higher): We recommend at least 3.0 ? 3.7 GHz Ivy Bridge processors (third-generation Core-based processors or AMD equivalent), 4 GB RAM, and a graphics card comparable to an NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M. The graphics card and processor speed is important particulary for 4K and 2.7K resolution video playback.

I am from the UK and wonder if someone could make some suggestions as to a 15.6" laptop that could "cut the mustard"

A laptop with those specs will likely be over £1000. If you get a laptop that has a higher resolution than 1080p than you have a better chance of it being able to handle 4k. I've narrowed it down a little bit and I would recommend taking a look here

Hello everyone, i would like to ask whether or not the XPS 8900 Desktop is capable of 2-way SLI, n other word, i would like to know how many PCIe slots motherboard has actually!

A:XPS 8900, video card SLI capable?

We never tested any SLI configurations on this model. The XPS 8900 has one blue PCIe x16 slot for video card. The black PCIe x16 slot is too far from the blue one to use any SLI bridges. Plus the 460w power supply would not support SLI.

i recently purchaced halo for the pc and i have all the system specs and on microsoft's website it says im able to play it however that isnt the case. I need a T&L capable video card that runs at 32MB i would like to know the following.

what aspects of gaming would this attribute to (e.g. better graphics or increased sound quality)?

where could i find one?

about how much would one cost?

and finally is it worth tracking one down or should i just return the game?

and are most graphics cards T&L compatable

i got this computer second hand from my uncle so im still becoming familliar with what all its packin' but this is what i know for sure

it runs on microsoft xp
its a dell with the computer model L100R
runs on an intell pentium III at 1.1Ghz
510 MB of ram
has direct-x 9.0
chip type is intel(R) 82810
approx total mem is 32 mb
current display mode 800 x 600 24 bit 85Hz

on microsoft's website it says my computer can run the game but when i go to scan it it says it didnt recognise all my parts

thank you for your time.

A:i need information on T&L capable video cards what do they do? etc.

You need just a basic grahic card. One to play that game should be about $30-$40. Gives us the make and model of your computer so we can help you make a selction. (that is combatible with you computer)

So I have a video camera that shoots 1080p and saves the clips as *.mts files. My quad core at home handles playback of the files in VLC and WMP, however my laptop tends to choke up on them when using VLC or WMP. I have managed to get them to play flawlessly using the Oxygen Lite player, however I was wondering if anyone else has additional suggestions, or has had better luck playing them in VLC? Oxygen manages to play them by turning off glass (which I tried to do with VLC, and they still suffered playback issues). I could easily convert the videos to a much friendlier format I know, however I'm keeping them in their raw format for archival purposes. Unless someone can suggest a lossless format, I'd rather keep them in their raw format until I get a chance to return home in a few months and edit them on my primary computer.

So i just got this nice little HP mini 110 netbook and i have a copy of the sims 2 double deluxe game. It's able to run just fine as long as i only play the base game if i go unto the nightlife expansion it's a bit laggy. systemrequirements labs says that my netbook cannot run the game because it requires a T & L capable graphics card. My question is, would it harm my netbook in any way to play the game without the T & L graphics card? And also why would it say i cannot run it if i can? My netbook has a intel atom N455 Processor (1.66 Ghz), 320 gb hard drive, intel graphics accelerator 3150 with shared graphics memory.

I f someone could please answer me, im so hooked on sims 2 but don,t want to ruin my pc playing it

This might be a really stupid question. I'm helping a friend replace his discontinued motherboard, but he's unable to tell me the CPU it used, aside from the socket (LGA775).

His original mobo was this

The closest match I could find was this

The latter is a bit updated, but it doesn't support hyperthreading.

The only info he could give me was that it was a Intel Dual Core 1.8 ghz, but that makes it either a Pentium D 1.8ghz or a core 2 duo 1.8 ghz. Pretty sure Core2 duo doesn't support HT, but I belive some Pentium D did. If his CPU is indeed a HT capable Pentium D, will it still function on the latter MoBo, despite the fact that the Mobo is lacking in terms of HT support?

A:Hyperthread-capable CPU, but Non-capable Motherboard

The latter supports all, and more, CPUs that the original one does:
vs http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Support/CPU_Support_Model.aspx?detailid=858&MenuID=69&LanID=0
He'll have no trouble running the CPU. Except for having a craptastic ECS motherboard but that's no news for them.

I bought a D630 and when downloading drivers, I notice theres x64 drivers listed so how would I know its capable of using xp or vista x64? Would I notice better performance on it?

A:How do you know if its capable of x64?

They will only work if you have a 64-bit operating system installed. It's likely you only have 32-bit but right click my computer and go properties, should tell you if its 32 or 64 there, at least in Vista it does. 64-bit drivers are only for 64-bit so they're made to support that type of system, just as 32-bit are made for 32-bit. For the most part, those drivers aren't going to offer any form of speed difference, they're just drivers to run on that type of system as 32-bit won't work. How ever as a whole, 64-bit has better memory utiliisation and speed improvements, etc.

A:Capable PC?

I looked up that graphics processor and it looks like a competitive unit. Capable.26.5 GB/sec.Bandwidth. Your ram memory is a good speed (667mhz) but try to raise that to two gigs. It will give your gaming more headroom. I'm not real familiar with the T7250 but 800 mhz FSB, &4 MB of cache will game O.K. 2 cores of 2.0GHZ won't burn the trail but it should keep up. I noticed that the 'Raptor' series offers 7200 RPM hard drives. And that 2 Gigs of Ram = $90. Also comes in a 2.4 GHZ core 2. Good Luck.

Hello, I was just wondering if my PC can handle 64-bit version of windows. My friend has been forcing me to switch from 32 to 64 but I'm a little bit worried because I have only 2gb of ram. Any suggestions? Should I go for 64-bit without upgrading my ram or stay with 32-bit? Your answers will be highly appreciated, thanks in advance By the way, I attached my pc specs for your reference.

A:64-bit Capable?!

Unless you plan to install 4GB or more of RAM, moving to 64-bit will not buy you anything. 2GB is the MINIMUM amount of RAM for 64-bit Win 7.

If you look at the screenshot you posted of your system info, at the bottom of the System section, it tells you that the system is 64-bit capable.

If I were to upgrade something on your system, the first thing I would upgrade would be your video card.

Hi, it's the old Frog here again with another situation--------

I have moved back home to care for my 93 yr old Mom. All I brought with me was my computer tower. Is it possible to connect to the internet thru her computer or modem? She has a Dell 3000 we bought her for Christmas. She's on CableOne with a Motorola SB5100 series Surfboard cable modem provided by CableOne. Can I just unplug her wires and plug them into my computer or do I have to set up some sort of network? If so, how and what do I do. I haven't done anything yet because I didn't want to screw it up.........know what I mean??

Also, if mine is hooked up I won't have the problem I'm having with her CDrom. I still haven't been able to resolve that issue yet.....short of calling out a computer repair guy and paying thru the nose.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Again thanks,

Chief Buzz

A:Is my computer capable of 64 bit?

I think your question is if your PC is capable of running a 64 bit operating system?

The answer is yes. However, you likely won't benefit from it. The HP website says the computer supports a maximum of 4 GB memory (one of the main reasons people use 64 bit operating systems is because they need/want more than 4GB memory). You also may have trouble finding 64 bit drivers for the motherboard components..

Hi, Can't be SATA I but you can definitely use SATA III which be backward compatible with SATA II. Nearly all SSD's are SATA III now therefore you won't be wrong with that. No information form its manual but you can check yourself using the following tool        http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/pc-wizard.html It will shows the similar information (6Gb/s is SATA 3):          Regards.

I have a desktop that uses an Asus Z87 mobo. It is wireless capable (has an antenna you connect via two tiny cable connection to the back of the case). I have not used the wireless capability at all in the 4 years I've had the computer. I instead use an Ethernet cable direct connection between router and computer. Recently, the signal strength of that "hard-wired" connection dropped from 5 bars to 1, so something has gone very wrong. I swapped out the Comcast Gateway modem/router for a new one, but it made no difference. So today I disconnected the Ethernet cable, set up the wireless connection.

Since I am no longer using a wired connection, I expected to see only 3-4 bars of signal strength. To my delight, I'm getting 5!!! Great. . . but I haven't answered a basic question about why the Ethernet connection is all but unusable. Is it (a) because the Ethernet cable, which is 50' long and at least 10 years old, has developed a break, or (b) my LAN card is failing? Before I buy a new cable, I'd like to be sure that's the problem, not the LAN card. So my question is, does the wireless antenna connect to the LAN card, or (like USB wireless adapters), does it send its signal to the mobo by other means? If its signal goes thru the LAN card, it means the card is working. If the LAN card is not involved, it means my Ethernet cable is the culprit.

A:Wi-fi capable motherboard

If that 50' long ethernet cable is 10 years old and has developed a break, that likely is the problem.
You'll know for sure by replacing it.

A:Crysis Capable?

That wireless card is pretty old(release in 2004, discontinued in 2007), only does Wireless-G, and has no official Windows 7 support; get a modern Wireless-N card like this: http://www.ebuyer.com/263388-tp-link-tl-wn951n-wireless-n-pci-adapter-tl-wn951n

My old PC with a Core 2 Duo E6550(oc'd to 3.5Ghz) with a 512MB Geforce 8800GT could run Crysis decently, I don't see why this system wouldn't be able to do it even better. But if you do have any extra money available, moving up to the Radeon HD 6850 would be better.

The power supply is a bit on the weak side, 530 watts and from a brand I'm not really familiar with so not sure on the quality if it.

Hi guys, I'm using a X250 for work, for almost a year, nothing to complain, moreover after performing a level 0 swap to linux (Fedora 23) , everithing working (keyboard backlight included, all ports, everithing) no flaws......until..... I nead to catch some signals from a vibrometer and other instruments RS-232, serial 9pins (I'm a mechanical engineer, I really need to do that stuff anyway).I have an old serial/pci express card and I wonder if anyone have done this before, I mean trying to give X250 express card (32mm) capability.  I've browsed into the available docking stations for X250 and there're nothing like serial or express card compliant.   Please help me dodging the plan B (which is a BORING log of a huge dose of hand writen vibration data)Regards,Pedro

A:is it possible to get x250 expresscard capable?

I assume you mean 34mm.  There are USB ExpressCard readers and USB serial ports.  Having said that, I think there is a good chance some may not do what you want.  When you start talking about hardware devices that need serial ports, those are often devices that have their own drivers and legacy communication software.  My experience has been that those drivers usually require that the serial port be configured as Com1, 2, 3 or 4 using the legacy addresses that date back to the 1980's.  Those devices need to have something like a 16550 UART in order to map to the legacy addresses that were used for Com ports on the earliest PCs.  All the USB devices I have seen map to virtual ports that cannot be used for the legacy addresses.  There are cards that have 16550-compatible UARTS but they tend to be harder to find and more expensive.  If you need legacy addresses, I would guess that a USB serial port would have no hope of success.  A USB express card would probably work with a 16550-compatible serial card.  I say that because I use such a card in my W540 for a chip reader and the express card slot in the machine is mounted as a USB device.  If I were looking, I would try something like this:
but I have not tried it and cannot guarantee success.

My laptop, Acer Aspire 5735z is equipped with an LG HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GT10N optical drive and I wonder if it is capable of writing (or printing) LightScribe DVDs. I searched on the internet and I can't find an answer, so here I am ^^

If it's not capable, is there a way to make it so, like an updated firmware or cross flashing ?

A:Is my drive LightScribe capable

From memory you should have a logo on the drive. I don't know if you can make a drive lightscibe.

Anyone know if there is a timeline for release of 1.5TB or 2TB hard drives suitable for RAID 5 or 6 arrays ?

And by that I mean no "green" junk that powers down the drives and makes them drop out of the array or having to mess around with TLER settings and praying they work and your controller does not mark all your drives as junk. For example, 3Ware does not have any of the 1.5 or 2 TB drives on its approved list for this very reason. You'd literally throw your away your entire array on the first "green" thing these drives did.

In short, I am looking for enterprise-type 7200RPM drives, especially those that can accept MAID commands from the controllers which spin the drives down but know they are still good and able to be powered back up quickly. Any info is appreciated.

Have you tried Google?

Buying a new laptop over Christmas; mostly for work purposes, but in all honesty work gets boring and I'd like to break the tedium with Oblivion. The thing is, I have no clue whatsoever about specs and attempts to find out for myself ended in confusion. I was hoping someone could recommend a laptop capable of Oblivion? It doesn't need to be running with high graphics (though I do intend to mod it) and I would place the price limit at around £700 (though probably lower). Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

A:Laptops capable of Oblivion?

well, most laptops are not geared to gaming, but for Obilivion, you should be ok with the current laptops out, just be warned that the gameplay may not be smooth.

You want to get the ones with dedicated video memory, not shared memory.

I have decided to build a computer for my brother. He is far from wealthy, so I am building him an affordable system. This has brought me to the use of AMD Sempron. Here is the motherboard and processor.

AMD Sempron 64 3400+ 2.0GHz 256KB Cache 1600MHz FSB Socket 754 Hyper-Transport 64-Bit (Palermo) Processor with Fan SDA3400BXBOX at TigerDirect.com
Foxconn 755A01-6EKRS ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail at Newegg.com

Here is my question. The motherboard supports "AMD Athlon 64/Sempron" processors. The Sempron processor that I am going to use is a "Sempron 64bit Hyper-Transport" processor. Because the motherboard has the ability to support AMD Athlon 64, shouldn't it be able to support the "Sempron 64" as opposed to a normal "Sempron" ??

Thanks in advance. ;]

I need to upgrade my desktop PC from 32-bit to 64-bit Windows 7. From the information I have seen online it is a bit conflicting as my 'System Information' states "System Type: x86-Based PC" which as far as I am aware means it is not compatible
however 'Performance information and tools' states "64-bit capable - Yes".  Can anyone clarify this for me please before I purchase a Windows Upgrade?
Also unsure what Directx version i have as some informations states 10.1 while others state 11? any clarity appreciated.

Seriously? No. I am not sure anybody has the time to compile a list like that. Why don't we ask nicely for a link to recommended RAM that will work. Where do you live (country)?
