Alienware 13 R2 does not wake from sleep with lid closed

Q: Alienware 13 R2 does not wake from sleep with lid closed

Hello, I just received an Alienware R2. I cannot get it to wake up from sleep mode when the lid is closed with my USB keyboard or mouse. It does wake up from sleep mode with my USB keyboard when the lid is open. I just updated the bios to Version A05,A05. Before I updated the new bios, it wouldn't even wake up from sleep mode by hitting the laptop keyboard. I had to hit the power switch.
I also have updated the video drives to Version 20.19.15.4312,A04 (Intel HD) and Version 10.18.13.5442,A02 (nVIDIA Geforce).
I am guessing this is still a BIOS problem, but is there a fix?

Thanks.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello! So i'm a tad confused. When you close the lid, the laptop goes to sleep, and when you open the lid it wakes up, but you want it to wake up with the lid closed?

So I have an Inspiron 17R SE 7720 that has all the latest drivers with BIOS A11 (Win 7 Ultimate x64)...  I have all the power settings configured for correctly for sleep (no hybernate), however no matter what I try, I can't get the laptop to wake when the lid is closed via USB keyboard.
I'm using Logitech's Wave MK560 combo (unifying receiver) - both the keyboard/mouse have the wake option enabled in their hardware settings.  I also have wake from USB enabled in the BIOS.
The interesting thing is that if I put the computer to sleep with the lid open, I can make it sleep/wake it from the Logitech devices.  With the lid closed, I can only make it sleep - the only way to wake it up is to open the lid and press the power button.
Anyone know of a fix to this?
Cliffs Notes:
Lid Open : CAN sleep/wake from USB Keyboard/Mouse
Lid Closed : Can ONLY sleep - won't wake unless I open Lid&press power button

It appears that a new BIOS A13 was released on the 18th March, all it says in the "fixes" section is "maintain release". Will download it now and see if it has fixed the wake on USB issue.

My PC is fairly new and I'm having problems with slow shutdowns/restarts and slow sleep/wakes. Recently it seems to fail waking altogether and restarts after a while instead. Usually during waking I just have a black screen for a long time before the reset/restart but sometimes I see the Windows log-in screen but it's unresponsive.
The problem predates my CPU undervolting and doesn't seem to change when I switch RAM settings back to Auto instead of XMP (I my RAM necessitates some kind of overclock in order to function at its rated speed).

Can anyone advise how to proceed? Thanks.

Hi,

I am new here. Hoping someone can help me out with this issue. I work in IT so am not a complete computer bonehead and am at my wits end with this.

My laptop is about 4 years old, it's a toshiba. For whatever reason, it started taking 5+ minutes to wake up from sleeping. If it sleeps for an hour, it's OK.. but if you leave it sleep all night and try to wake it up in the morning, it's quite cranky. After the 5+ minute wake up, it performs as normal. It was running Windows 7 Home 32 bit.

Troubleshooting steps that I have taken are as follows.

Reinstalled windows. Issue was resolved! but after about 2-3 weeks, issue came back. I thought maybe it was some type of windows update, so I reinstalled windows again and paid closer attention to the updates. Issue presented itself again after 2-3 weeks, and there were no updates immediately done prior to it starting.

I started to think maybe it was something related to my hard drive, so i performed laptop surgery and swapped out my original hard drive with a solid slate drive, and installed windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit (this laptop can support 64 bit so I figured why not upgrade.).

issue again was resolved for a few weeks, and now it's back to taking 5+ minutes to wake up again.

If you're turning the laptop on from scratch, it takes 10-15 seconds tops. if you're restarting, it's 10-15 seconds tops (man, I love SSD...)... if you're waking itup within the hour, its 1-2 seconds. But anything longer then that, 5+ minutes.

I have a Dell Optiplex 755 with WinXPPro SP3, 2GB RAM and an Intel Core 2 Duo E4600, and it is unreliable for Wake on LAN and Wake on Ring. I also wonder whether my Standby - Sleep - Suspend (S1 or S3) is working correctly.

When the PC is in Standby - Sleep - Suspend mode (S1 or S3), Wake on LAN and Wake on Ring work some of the time but not all of the time, and I'd like them to be 100% reliable.

These may be two different problems, but your advice will be appreciated. (Also, if I should post in a different forum, please advise.)

My Network Card is an Intel 82566DM-2 Gigabit Network Connection, and I recently upgraded its drivers using "generic" PROXP.exe from the Intel website, although this has not helped the problem. The specific driver file e1e5132.sys is now from 2009 -- it used to be from 2007. But, as I say, Wake on LAN from Standby was not and is still not reliable, both before and after the driver update.

In Settings .. Network Connections ... Local Area Connections ... Properties ... Configure ... Power Management, all the Wake on LAN options are checked ON:

- Wake on Directed Packet
- Wake on Magic Packet
- Wake on Magic Packet from Power Off State
- Wake on Link

The NIC card's Diagnostic checks are all OK.

My fax modem card is a Conexant D850 PCI V.92 Modem, and I have the most recent drivers dated 7/27/07, version 7.67.0.50. In Settings ... Phone and Modem Options ... Modems ... Properties, "Allow this device to bring... Read more

More to above: Dell has suggested I must re-install Windows. I've never done that, and I realize I'd probably lose all my applications and data - no good. Seems to me that's like using an atomic bomb to kill a mosquito. And why should I assume that will work?

But is there a way to re-install -- or maybe fix -- Windows that leaves everything else safe?

FYI - About a month or so ago, I ran SFC (System File Checker) in repair mode, and that didn't help with this problem.

Any ideas?

I've discovered that a sleeping P50 can be waken up by pressing Fn key or power button. Problem: I'd like to wake up the laptop with any key, this will allow me to wake it up with an external generic usb keyboard or mouse. I use this latop as workstation 90% of the time with external monitors, mouse & keyboard. Unfortunately i need to keep the lid open because I need access to the power button or Fn key to wake it up after sleep. Ideally I'd keep the laptop closed all the time and just hit any key to wake it up. It looks like impossible task. Its funny, I switched from apple to lenovo and I expected these little things to be already solved. Very dissapointed.

Hi all,
I need some help setting up the WOL function on my pc. I disabled the "deep sleep control" in the bios, I enabled the three checkboxes in the device manager related to WOL but the WOL works only if I put the pc in sleep mode, if I shut it down it doesn't work.
Another little thing that can be useful is that when I shut the pc down my ethernet ports repeater doesn't receive signals from it but, if I unplug and replug the power cable, it shows traffic (as you can see in the image, the pc port is the number 2) but the WOL still doesn't work.
Sorry for the poor english I did my best. Every suggestion is welcome , Thank you in advance.

Lenovo sent me a replacement Yoga 900, but this time it is an updated version (Yoga 900-13ISK2). With this newer model, the problem that was fixed with a bios update where the Yoga 900-13ISK would wake up while the lid was closed if you picked up the laptop from one of the sides. It was determined that the keyboard was being pressed while squeezing to pick it up, and that would cause it to wake from sleep, even though the lid was closed. I am hoping Lenovo can release a bios update pretty quickly to fix this issue on the Yoga 900-13ISK2. If anyone else has the Yoga 900-13ISK2, please let me know if you are having this issue too. I would like to know if it's just me and I should therefore send it back for another replacement.

Did a Clean Reinstall with good performance, but when I choose Sleep all lights go off except large LED on side and Power Button, then won't wake-up without hard Shutdown when powering back up Resumes as if in Hibernate Mode.

To try to resolve this I reinstalled the Alienware Command Center and set AlienFusion (Power) settings to Default but the same behavior continues even with Sleep set to default 0 on High Performance. Hibernate has never showed up on ShutDown button choices so I don't know why it's Resuming after hard Shutdown but that's all it's done.

Have tried all drivers from Windows Update to latest Nvidia to Latest Dell download for Nvidia Geforce GT545. Also disabled Intel onboard graphics in Device Manager.

I left the Recovery partition on the HD so can possibly run it by restoring F8 link or booting it using EasyBCD but would rather stick with the Clean Reinstall if we can make it Sleep and Hibernate correctly. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I have backups set to wake my laptop when it is plugged in.

However, sometimes I sleep my machine even when plugged in by closing the lid. In that situation, I do not want the wake timers to wake it, because it is likely to get too hot, because the room is warm.

I do not see any way to have wake timers enabled, yet not have them wake the computer when the lid is closed. Anyone know if there is a way to do that?

The only solution I can think of is very involved -- creating a task that is triggered by lid closed.

I have an issue with the sleep function. The computer does not awake from sleep. When I try to do it, it behaves as if it was waking, but it never ends and there is only a black screen; the mouse and keyboard are inoperative. The only thing possible to do is a hard reboot. When it boots, it shows a notice with a minute report (in the zip file) usually saying there was a blue screen, but I NEVER see any blue screen at all.

I know the power configuration is OK because I have always used the same scheme. A powercfg ?energy report shows several errors and warnings. They refer to USB and PCI (vendor 1002=ATI motherboard), but I don?t know how to repair them.

I downloaded the drivers downloader from Rrecipester.org and downloaded and installed the drivers. They are all Broadcom Corporation signed, the brand of my USB Bluetoth attachment. I rebooted after installing, as recommended. Run powercfg ?energy again and got the same report issues (in the zip file). I don?t think the processor utilization warnings to be very important because they are low and sporadic picks. It has been like this for some time now, so I don?t have a restore point. Can someone help and tell me what I can do so solve this issue, please?

Files uploaded in the attached zip:

. Windows dump and xml files (2 = 1 each)
. Powercfg -energy report

According to page 102 of the Alienware 14 manual (EN-US), there should be an option for "USB Wake Support" in the BIOS so that the laptop can be woken from sleep by a USB device.  This is important when the laptop is connected to an external monitor and needs to be turned on.
It's ridiculous to have to quickly open the lid, press power and then close the lid again.  If you don't do it fast enough, the external monitor is sometimes not enabled and you have to open the lid again to enable the external monitor from Display Properties.
The option is available in BIOS A00 (although I couldn't get it to work), but not A03, A04 or A06.  Why was this option removed?  I need this feature enabled and working otherwise I'm not sure if this laptop is going to meet my needs.
Could someone from Dell please confirm whether or not this will be possible?

Thanks,
TrueG

A:Alienware 14 (2013) - USB Wake Support Missing from BIOS

Did this issue ever get resolved for you? I am having the same issue with A09 BIOS, It's ridiculous because I literally have two laptops in front of me, my Alienware 14, and my old Toshiba Satellite from about 7 years ago... I uninstalled any Logitech drivers from both laptops, plug in the USB receiver to the Toshiba, it plug and plays, then works fine, I switch into sleep mode on said Toshiba and the Logitech keyboard can bring me out of sleep mode instantly, I don't even have to fiddle around with settings. On the other hand, I plug it into my Alienware 14, it quickly says it's installing drive files, keyboard works, I put the Alienware into sleep mode, but when I use the touchpad, press any buttons on the keyboard, turn off and on the keyboard, press buttons on the laptop itself, nothing wakes it from its sleep (other than pressing the power button on the laptop). I read your posts on the other websites too (a forum I believe it was), and I think I am having the exact same issue. I am running my Alienware in UEFI boot mode, recently switched my HDD to my SSD so that it would perform faster, but I don't think that has anything to do with the BIOS not including a "USB Wake" option, does it? Is it only located in the BIOS when you're booting from Legacy possibly?
Hope you found a solution, because I have spent my entire day off trying to figure out a way to turn my laptop on from afar, but nothing has worked... :(
Thanks a lot.

Justin

I've had about 5 instances where I've closed the laptop and put it in my laptop bag to pull the laptop out an hour later and have it be super hot.  It seems something has hung the system up from sleeping like it should when I close the lid.  I'm sure eventually I'll start getting thermal damage, especially the Samsung 950 NVME drives, so I am a bit concerned.  I usually pay attention now that I know this happens, but occasionally forget like today and worry about the damage that could be caused if it was left for an extended amount of time. Thanks in advance for any help! Laptop is a Lenovo P50 with a Xeon processor. Memory is Kingston HyperX 4x16gb 2400mhzHard drives are Samsung 950 m.2 in raid 0, and a Samsung Evo SSD

Hey hey, so the problem is i want to leave my laptop running when doing renders that take hours on end. I've disabled the sleep mode in every way that I know how to (see screen shots). When the lid is open it doesn't go to sleep, but when it's closed after about minutes it goes into sleep mode (all fans off etc).

This never happened with windows 7 and i've triesd programs like insomnia which haven't helped at all. Id really love to get to the bottom of this, otherwise I might have to reluctantly revert to windows 7

Anyone offering ideas would be much appreciated. Cheers

A:Unwanted sleep when laptop is closed

Hi safety1g,

FYI, I have seen this behavior before on a few Sony Vaio models, and each time it was referred back to Sony support, where they said the option to "change what the lid does when closed" is/was not supported in their power management scheme and there was no workaround for this issue. So, just consider this an FYI at this point; however, if you can't get your issue resolved quicky, I would spend 10 minutes on the phone with your laptop's manufacturing support group to see if they can confirm a similar issue.

Good luck,

Sometimes, maybe around half the time (I haven't counted), my laptop doesn't go to sleep when the lid is closed.  The fan keeps running and the Thinkpad logo red light stays on.  I know that the computer "registers" the lid closing, because the screen turns off and I get logged out.  This is very inconvenient because every time I close my laptop, I have to wait a minute to see if it properly went to sleep.  If this problem does occur, opening and closing the lid once more seems to put it to sleep.  I thought maybe it just took some time for the laptop to go to sleep, but my laptop was in my backpack today for a couple hours, logo light on and fan running and of course quite warm.  Did some searching but couldn't find a solution.  Is there a fix for this?  Thanks.

I have an odd problem. I've noticed that when I close my XPS 13, it shuts down (as indicated by the annoying front LED) but then later on it will start back up while it's being transported. Sometimes I'll get home, take it out of the computer case, and it will be as hot as a thermal missile because it's been running.
I'm not sure why it would just randomly start up like that? I have the power options to "sleep" when lid is closed, as seen here: http://i.imgur.com/p0x1C86.png.
I don't believe I have malware because I have reset my computer to factory settings on multiple occasions and scanned with SpyBot and Windows Defender.
In Bios "Wake on LAN" is Disabled.
For the life of me I can't think what would be triggering this besides the NSA (I joke). Does this happen to anyone else? Did you find a fix for it? Was it a dell program? Or is there a faulty piece of hardware on this computer?
Any comments/suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks :)

Hi, Sometimes when I close the lid off my Yoga 260 Windows 10 are not going to sleep. The behaviour is really weird because the red light on the lid is blinking like when it's in sleep mode, but I can hear the rotating fan. When I open the lid it's even weirder. Could you answer a few questions?
Does the laptop go into sleep mode if you choose Sleep from the start menu?
Have you tried doing a System Restore to a point before you installed the updates?
Did you install Update KB976902 at the same time as other updates?

Hi,
first time here, I have about a week experience (pulled out some hair) with windows 8/8.1, but I consider myself pretty comfortable with Windows in general.

When my win8.1 laptop is in sleep mode, I can wake it with a mere touch of my external bluetooth k/b without any issues, as long as the lid is opened. If I close the lid, I can continue to use it as its connected to a big Samsung plasma tv. But if I let the laptop go to sleep (or put it to sleep myself thru the menu), I am unable to wake it back; I need to pull it out from a/v furniture, open the lid and press the power button.

Is this a win8 thing, an Acer Aspire thing, or worse it can't be done?
Anyone else able to wake from sleep their win8 laptop w/closed lid???

Thanks

HiI'm using a HP ENVY TouchSmart 15-j198ez Notebook PC running Windows 10 64bit.I have an external display, and it's the only display I need, hence, the laptop lid is always closed. The peripherals I use are:Microsoft Designer Mouse/Keyboard Wireless Kit - BluetoothWacom Intuos 4 Tablet - USBLogitech Rumblepad 2 Game Controlle - USB None of the above mentioned peripherals wake the laptop from sleep. And I am forced to open the lid everytime I need to use the laptop. Previously I was using a Logitech USB keyboard and a Logitech Wireless Mouse (wth USB dongle) - both were able to wake the laptop from sleep with no problem. Gave up on them because I needed the extra USB slots. I also have a Bluetooth speaker set, which led me to belive that the bluetooth connection of the laptop is closing whenever the laptop is going into sleep, since it starts searching for other devices to pair with. This would explain why the mouse and keyboard can't wake the laptop, even though I have checked the "Allow this device to wake computer from sleep" boxes, for both, in the Device Manager dialogue. Any solutions for this?I would also be happy if the tablet or gamepad would wake the laptop. But the "Allow this device to wake computer from sleep" check boxes are greyed out for these devices. Thanks in advance.

There seem to be two times this happens. I close my laptop lid (set to sleep when closed) and then when I reopen it, it restarts and then tells me there was a blue screen. When I click on the option to look for solutions online, the pop-up window just closes and disappears. Other times it has happened when my computer was idle for a while, lid open (presumably it went to sleep), then returned to it and power button illuminated, but black screen. Nothing to do but power off - or if I close the lid for a while, it will then restart when reopened.
Seems totally random. Sometimes doesn't happen for days in a row, then twice a day.
Thanks for your help. Sorry I'm not super tech savvy.

A:BSOD - Usually When Lid is Closed, Maybe Sleep Problem

Welcome aboard, anahata.

Your problem seems to be with your usb port/hub. Is there anything connected in the laptop's USB ports when you close the lid? Say any external HDD or something else? If so, remove those, close the lid and follow if it crashas again.

Turn USB selective suspense on to narrow down the possibility to discriminate if it is being cause by the hardware, or the USB hub driver.
USB Selective Suspend - Turn On or Off

At the same time, try to upgrade your NEC Electronics USB 3.0 Host Driver, using the link provided in the page: Driver Reference Table - nusb3hub.sys.

Let us know the results.

Hi all,
I was just wondering if you can advise on something.
My new laptop keeps waking itself from sleep in my bag. As far as I can tell, the screen comes on and does not turn off and the laptop stays on until it runs out of battery (about 9 hours). This causes the screen and laptop in general to get very hot, as it is in my bag and in a laptop sleeve.
I wondered if it was bad for the screen to get this hot? I know the components can handle it, otherwise the laptop would shut down. But I am worried about the screen.
It is the Asus UX303LA-R4338H. It has a LCD panel (matte, non-touch, if that makes a difference). Windows 8.1.
As for the waking up: I think it might have been waking after 3 hours to go in to hibernate, so I have turned off hibernation in power settings (but I am yet to try this latest change). I have no tasks scheduled to wake the laptop, all devices bar the keyboard aren't allowed to wake it, can't be woken by internet, etc. What is curious is that it when this happens it does not sleep after 15 minutes or turn off the display after 5 minutes, as per my settings. Does anyone have any ideas on this?
Summary:-
1. Is this bad for laptop screen/elsewhere on the laptop to be on, in a closed environment, and this hot for 9 hours?
2. Any further ideas why it might be turning on and then not sleeping after 15 minutes?
THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!

A:Laptop waking from sleep when closed - bad for screen?

It's definitely not good for the battery. Getting hot in the bag isn't god either. If it was me I would do a full shut down instead of sleep mode.

Hi all, hope this is in the correct forum but mods please feel free to move if not.

I've just been given a new Lenovo Yoga 2 by my work and it's running Windows 8.1 Pro.

However, I've lost work several times now as every time it goes to sleep, when it wakes up all of the apps have closed as if it shut down (the sleep light is blinking when it is asleep)! Is this normal for Windows 8 as I've never used it before and it certainly didn't do this in Windows 7?

I have the same problem, tried the aforementioned solutions, to no avail. I think this is a design flaw and no simple solution. I suspect some type of viltage control board has failed. It woukd be nice to know what the sikution is, even if it is too expensive to fix.

I purchased my Hp envy 360 laptop at Best Buy about a week ago. It was an open box purchase because It was in near perfect condition . I tryed charging it but it only charges when it is in sleep mode or either closed . When I plug it in while its in it has a white light and the battery days plugged in ; not charging . But when I close it there is a orange light and a couple hours later it's fully charged . I assumed I had a bad battery but I ran a battery test and it said my battery was fine . Because it charges when it's closed I assumed their was a setting I could just switch but i don't know what to do .

When the laptop is closed, pressure on the laptop will cause it to wake from sleep. There is no option in the BIOS or device manager to disable the wake from sleep option for the keyboard. Here is someone with a similar issue with the ISK1. https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-Yoga-Series-Notebooks/Yoga-900-keyboard-wakes-laptop-from-sleep/...

Howdy folks, I did some quick searching and could not find an answers to my problem and thus am posting here. I have a X1 Carbon 3rd Gen (Type 20BS) with Windows 10 and over the past 2-3 months have noticed the following problem: Problem: After placing the computer into sleep mode via the start button and closing the lid the computer will randomly start back up. I will often open my pc after noticing how overheated it is and find that it came back on and for some reason the touchscreen has been typing and opening applications. Obviously this is very annoying and results in my computer draining its batter and random applications being opened. Any ideas on what may be causing this and how I can fix it?  Happy to provide driver details and any other diagnostics if you think it would help.  Thanks,Andy

Printer is HP Inkjet
Laptop is VIAO
OS is Vista
The printer works fine after booting, however the printer does not print though the job show printing and the job cannot be deleted in these conditions:
1- the laptop has gone to sleep and is "revived" and then we try to print something local or from gmail or other online doc
2- the laptop is closed but not turned off and when it is reopened and "revived" - same problem

The only way then to make it print is to reboot the laptop - then and only then the print jobs start.

Any idea?

Hello. I know that this problem has been dissuced already here.My device is not a plain Yoga 900, but the(Yoga 900-13ISK2.Is there a bios update that will allow me to make sure that my computer stays sleeping while I move with it? From what I read, the problem seems to be that a key in the keyboard is being pressed and that wakes up the machine.  Thanks!    Doron

Around 3am every night my Alienware Aurora R5 wakes from sleep. The fans whirr for 5 minutes, then it seems to go to sleep again, but every 5 minutes or so after that it wakes again. To make matters worse, if I tell it to shut down, it will not actually shut down and power off simply close all my apps and take me to the windows login screen.
I've gone through every setting I can find relating to waking and turned it off, including disabling wake timers for every power power plan, disabling AlienFX and Always Ready Mode, going into Schedulers and disabling the Windows Update task from waking the PC, and going to the ethernet settings and disabling wake on magic packet. I've also tried unplugging the mouse.
Last night at 3am I typed in powercfg /lastwake to see if I could find out what caused it to wake but all it said was "type unknown"
I'm running out of ideas for how to stop this, and since the computer is in my bedroom near my bed, is giving me sleep deprivation as well.
Any suggestions for how I can resolve this?

3:00am is windows update standard time to install and reboot.  There are also bios wake settings.  Easiest fix is to put on power strip and shut off after shut down.

I've had several calls with support on this issue and I'm getting conflicting answers (hardware issue to x360 does not have these features) and would love to hear from users alike. I use my laptop plugged in most of the times with external docking station, monitor, keyboard and mouse.  And I have my laptop lid closed so I can pretty much hide the laptop under my desk.  Windows 10 setting is fairly simple where I disabled "sleep" when lid closed.  Issue is that the sleep button does not work when the lid is closed.  I cannot put the computer to sleep or awake by pressing the button.  It does nothing. Also, when the laptop is sleeping (flashing white light on the sleep button) I cannot awake the laptop via external mouse or keyboard.  Nothing.  The only way to awake the laptop is to open the lid, which I have to remove the laptop from my desk slot to do and put it back in once it's awake.  I changed windows setting to allow awaking laptop via mouse/keyboard, disabled docking hub power saving, etc etc. The sleep button by the way works when the laptop is in tablet mode.  But still no external mouse/keyboard awake. Soooo.... 1. Is this issue isolated or do ALL Spectre x360 have the same limitation?2. If you have had this issue and got it fixed, please share your findings/experience.  Ideally, if the power button is disabled by design, then fine, but I would still like to awake the laptop by ... Hello All,

In the last two weeks I have been experiencing something very strange with my Windows 10 Pro. When my laptop resumes from sleep the Wireless is turned off in Windows. I don't believe it was an update because I have defer updates enabled. Unfortunately, I just noticed System Restore was turned off.

1) I have checked the power settings in Device Manager and the device is NOT checked to use power management)
2) I have updated to the latest wireless driver available.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Edit: I believe this issue has something specifically to do with Sleep because when I reboot or shutdown/power-on the Wireless is enabled and working fine. It only seems to be when Windows goes into sleep mode.

A:Wireless turned off after lid closed or sleep (Not Power Management)

It is common behavior for any devices to be powered down if you close the lid to place into sleep mode.
