A Real Tough One. PnP error, VDI32.exe error and a QVE error. Help Please

Q: A Real Tough One. PnP error, VDI32.exe error and a QVE error. Help Please

Just got a new computer and am trying to install my Philips Mini HiFi sytem. Contacted their support centre and they don't know what to do! The stereo system simply plugs into a usb port and plays your audio through their system. The only difference between the system it worked on a few days ago and now is that I am running Windows Professional x64.

The problem:

three things to install:

1. the Philips drivers. Philips support got me to download their drivers for Win XP.

When I install this the error rec'd is: "Install 2.15 setup. While installing drivers Plug and Play error detected. Please reboot and try again". I reboot and try again, same thing.

2. The program "Sound Agent" to run the show. When I install the Sound Agent program, the error rec'd is: "VDI32.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close".

3. MusicMatch to channel the audio through to it. (Seems ok but tells me it's out of date - no biggie I can deal with that).

In Device Manager there is "Unknown Device" listed under System Devices shown to be not installed (the yellow exlamation mark through it). When I try to Update Driver it says, "Cannot Install this hardware. The hardware was not installed because the Wizard cannot find the necessary software".

Finally, whenever I reboot I get the error message: "The QVE bus driver is not detected. Reinstall the Qsound Virtual Audio Devices Bus Enumerator driver".

I have reformatted my hard drive and reinstalled Win XP64. Reinstalled all the drivers, and all the updates from Microsoft.

Is my only option to ditch Win XP Pro x64 due to the fact the driver doesn't work with it?

Preferred Solution: A Real Tough One. PnP error, VDI32.exe error and a QVE error. Help Please

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

A: A Real Tough One. PnP error, VDI32.exe error and a QVE error. Help Please

Your link is not working, but many things don't have 64 bit drivers. Did the drivers say for XP or specifically for 64 bit?

Hello all, I have lenovo T430s laptop that is configured with Bitlocker encruptions and TPM PIN entry. I don't think that has anything to do with the error msg I am getting but here it is. It means you need to hit F1 to get into the BIOS to change the date/time. You will need to supply whatever passwords you have set on the BIOS or the hard drive.

I'm working on a Windows 7 machine that just won't run Windows Update. I've fixed lots of Windows Update problems before, but this one's got me stumped.

Here's the chronology:

1) If I try to run Windows Update, I get this result:

2) I choose "Check For Updates", and I get this result:

3) I choose "Install Now", Windows Update closes momentarily and then re-opens with this error message:

I've tried running the Windows Update Troubleshooter (WindowsUpdateDiagnostic.diagcab) numerous times, and it doesn't fix it. I get this result:

Curiously, if I choose "View Detailed Information", it says that it DID fix the 800f081f issue (which, of course, it hasn't):

Some additional info:

I've run the System Update Readiness Tool (KB947821) numerous times. CheckSUR.log indicates that no errors were found. All my logs are located in a .zip file here:

http://www.frontiernet.net/~johnnyzero/WU_hell/CBS.zip

Also, I've run SFC /scannow (no integrity errors found), and I've also run chkdsk /f on my hard drive.
Any help with this nightmare will be MUCH appreciated.

A:Windows Update error 800F081F - a tough one!

Unfortunately, the only known cure for your problem (an aborted install of the Windows Update Agent) is a Repair Install of the OS - I've never found a way to back out of this type of failure

Have a look here, and see if the option is available to you... Repair Install

I'm running Windows 7 Pro on my Dell laptop. This laptop has been in storage and hasn't been turned on in a year. Originally, all I wanted to do was use iTunes. The problem:

It made me update it in order to use it, but I got an error.

I un-installed it and tried downloading a fresh copy and I get the following error:
After some Googling, I read that not having the latest Windows .NET framework might be the problem. Sounded reasonable so I fired up Windows Update but that gave me an error and wouldn't start checking for updates.

I managed to get it to check for updates, but now when it starts the process, I get the following:
I Googled the error code "8007007E" and tried a few things to try and fix it.

I downloaded the windowsupdatediagnostic.diagcab, found on Microsoft's site, here:http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/troubleshoot-problems-installing-updates#1TC=windows-7
I tried resetting the Windows Update reset tool, using "MicrosoftFixit50202", found here:http://go.microsoft.com/?linkid=9665683
I download the system readiness tool, found here:https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=3132
I tried a clean boot.

I tried renaming the Windows Update Softwaredistribution folder.

None of this worked.

I had a very bizarre problem today. I downloaded about 50 .mpg files and put them into a folder on my desktop. I opened one of them, and it worked fine, but after that every time I even opened the folder that the files were in, only half of the thumbnails would appear and then it would tell me that I had a Visual C++ Runtime Error, from explorer.exe aborting. At the same time as this, windows would pop up a little message saying that my virtual memory was low. Later, it popped up a message saying that my Media Player needed to be reinstalled and that my Norton Antivirus needed to be reinstalled. Then it disabled my Norton Firewall and my Norton Antivirus. Lastly, I started getting error messages telling me that my soundcard needed to be configured to handle voice files, by enabling hardware acceleration. The only problem with that was that Windows would not let me access the advanced sound settings!

I am running Windows XP (all patches up to date), 256 MB Ram, 75 Gig HD - so I figured the "low" virtual memory had to be an error. I tried tripling the virual memory to 1GB and also tried letting Windows automatically set the virtual memory size, but neither of these fixed the problem. My immediate thought was that it was a virus or trojan, but Norton VirusScan, Swat-It Trojan Scanner, and System Suite VirusScan all failed to detect anything, and all of them have their definitions up to date.

I ran a Google search to see what other things I should try and none of the... Read more

Ive just bought some new memory (TWIN2X4096-8500C5C G), the new memory doesnt seem to work unless I only add one stick, and even with that I get blue screen errors.

So from reading a few pages on teh internet I put my old memory back in, and ran windows driver verifier. Upon restarting I got and keep getting teh following BSOD.

IO SYSTEM VERIFICATION ERROR in wmiacpi.sys (WDM driver error 20e)

[wmiacpi.sys+152f at B7C5C52F]

A:Blue Screen IO Error. Verification Error In Wmiacpi.sys (WMD Driver Error 20e)

If the system ran fine...before you added RAM...then you need to see if the new RAM (by itself)...works.The new RAM may not be compatible with your old RAM, in which case the system will run fine with one or the other...but not both. The Driver Verifier tool is tricky to use, I would disregard that effort...for the moment.Remove your old RAM...put the new RAM in...see if the system works properly.FWIW: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/153175/blue-screen-io-error-verification-error-in-wmiacpisys-wmd-driver-error-20e/Louis

Are you sure of the spelling of the 2nd file name? If so, Google doesn't give any results for it - which is suspicious. The first file name ( wmiacpi.sys ) is a Windows file that's used to help manage the ACPI settings in your system. http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/filedb/wmiacpi.sys-7763.htmlA BSOD error will usually point to the file that the error occured in, but this may not be the source of the error. Here's a link on how to find more info about the BSOD message: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/top...tml#entry409491Once you locate the .dmp files for the event, you can use this link to generate an analysis of the dump for us to have a look at ( http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=35246 )

I enjoy listening to real audio music files online with RealPlayer. Now there is this music site that I love. And whenever I click on a song to hear, it says this: "This clip cannot be played. It contains unexpected data and may be corrupt." Now what in the world does that mean? I wish that these songs will load, but they do not play at all for me. I also listen to real audio on another site. And all of the real audio mostly plays just fine.

And I hover my mouse over the real audio file there, and the real audio file is about 80 or 79 bytes, it says. Now on the other site, the real audio files are larger, like 2.78 KB approximately. Now I think it might have to do something with the size of the file. Maybe that is why some of the real audio is playing, and the rest isn't on the other site.

But the other site that I enjoyed listening to said the same thing: "this clip cannot be played. It contains unexpected data and may be corrupt." Please let me know on why this is happening, and explain to me on how to fix the error message. Because I would really like to listen to these real audio files again. Hi,

I was trying to watch a show on CBS' Innertube and everytime I try to load a show I get this stupid error before eventually it plays the 30 second commercials.

The error is this
"Requested file not found. The link you have requested may be outdated or inaccurate."

then in a little box in the same error window it gives the following link
"http://www.cbs.com/Common/images/video/disclaimer_nonUS.gif,video,60"

I've been getting this for every show I try to watch.

I've been looking around trying to see if anyone else is having the same troubles with Innertube as I am, but so far I haven't found anything. So it sounds like its me, not them that is at fault here.

So to sum, I try to load a full episode, I get that error popping up, I click OK, then quick 30 second commercials play... and I've waited through 4 or 5 of these commercials before getting the hint that nothing was going to be played.

appreciate any help I get,

Geoff

Hi,
Some strange things have happened, all lately on my computer.
All links clicked on from e-mails always open up a browser that is not maximized. Also, on every boot up I get a real player error and if I just ignore it and open a browser the browser is beneath the error, so I have to adddress the real player error by sending a report to Mircrosoft or not. I guess I could just delete the Real Player and maybe download it again. And on outlook express some of my reply messages do not have any left hand margin what so ever. All three of these events started this weekend. The main one to solve is the real player error(real player has encountered an error and needs to close, send report to MSFT or not) and then the minimized browsers is an inconvenience too. On that I did try something I was told many months ago but it has not helped(maximize the particular window, then close it completely and do not open another one until I shut down and re-boot). Browsers opened from any thing other than clicking on a link open up normal. My link to Techguy started the minimize thing today. Any help appreciated!

Well, first thing is to always do is a virus scan, making sure you're up to date with your definitions. A couple of free, online scans:

http://housecall.trendmicro.com/housecall/start_corp.asp

http://www.pandasoftware.com/activescan/com/activescan_principal.htm

Also, check your system for spy/malware with Spybot or latest Adaware.

Also, run the IE repair tool.

You may need to uninstall and re-install RealPlayer, like you said.

A:Real Or Fake Windows Error?

Hi,Your system is terribly infected. Problem with these infections nowadays is, it causes a lot of damage. Even if we clean the malware off your system, I can't guarantee that your system will be clean afterwards, because these infections/bundles leave a lot of leftovers behind that most scanners won't even recognise and logs won't show. Also, I can't promise you we can repair all the damage it caused... Even after cleaning the malware, you can still get errors afterwards because of the damage. Solving these is not always possible since it will be searching for a needle in a haystack to find the right cause and solution. So, we can try to clean this up and do what we can, but keep in mind that we can't solve ALL problems this malware already caused. In light of this it would be wise for you to back up any files and folders that you don't want to lose before we start. Reason I am telling this is because when a system is so terribly infected and we try to clean this up manually, the damage that is already present may interfere with our removal attempts. This is indeed a fake Windows error - but that isn't your only problem. I do have some notes here first before we proceed, because it doesn't make any sense that we try to clean up your system if nothing is preventing your system from malware being installed again.I see no antivirus installed on your system, and I also see that your windows isn't up to date. You don't have even ServicePack1 installed! Remember that your system ... Read more

My operating system is XP SP2; Inspiron/9400 Laptop; PC Model MP061 - I have an error message when rebooting that always comes up stating that a component of real player could not be found. It also gives you a delete button it says you can hit if you cannot find the file - it lets you know that neither option will harm your hard drive. It also says it could not create actor-guid and gives this next: http://ns.real.com/gemini.v1;RPSearchActor --- When I hit the delete button it all goes away but leaves real player up with a blank screen. I shut it down and all goes well. But - what is this and why does it continue? It started doing this after the computer almost crashed one day when I was trying to burn a DVD and accidently opened real player. After shutting down and rebooting it, I did a system restore for a few days prior when everything was running well. Everything else runs okay. Should I un-install real player and re-install it ? If this will work, how do I do so?

Okay, so I'm having some trouble with my computer that I can't quite fix...
About a week ago a lightning storm rolled through and caused some issues.
My computer is plugged into a surge protector, however, the storm caused the power to turn off and on several times, my computer would automatically restart every time the power came back on. After realizing I had left my computer on (I was busy in another room) I hurried and unplugged it (I know that shutting it down before unplugging it is the proper thing to do but the computer did not even have enough time to fully boot between the intervals of power outage).
So now for the problem, every time I boot my computer I get a black screen with a few boot options, an error message (Loss of Power to the Real Time Clock), and at the top left corner, MBs counting up from 0 to 4096 (I have 4GB of RAM so I'm guessing this has something to do with memory).
After it reaches 4096 I get the option to save changes (with F1), after this I can boot the computer. Then everything works perfectly normal (still plays Fallout :D) except for the date being 1/3/1980 and the time always being wrong (although the time varies every time I turn it on).
If I correct the time and date it only goes back when I restart the computer, also, I can't load certain websites like gmail because "your clock is behind" and I don't know how to just align the time exactly through the internet...

If you need to know any more information about my comp... Read more

A:Real Time Clock Error

Welcome.

I believe the CMOS battery need replacing. That is what keeps the clock running when power is off. Open the case and you should see the battery. It is a disk on the motherboard about the size of a US quarter. It is a CR-2032 battery and not very expensive.
They can be purchase at most drug and grocery stores depending in where you live.

Here is a procedure from Dell but it will give you the idea.

I keep getting this message on my Windows XP computer. This is just a computer used for the kids to play games on and has not been even turned on for a very long time, so not sure when this started or anything...
This is the error:

Cannot connect to the real www.google.com

Something is currently interfering with your secure connection to www.google.com.
I tried to just google the error and see what could be the issue, but everyone says to check your date & time, but mine seems to be right. I even made sure and updated it and restarted the computer, but still am getting the message. I also tried the "CLEANUP!" program and deleted all the junk files, but again didnt work.

Any help would be appreciated!! I get the error on a few different sites and one happens to be the one my daughter wants to play on for school (ixl.com)

TIA

A:Error: Cannot connect to the real www.google.com

Check for the correct Year. Usually when a computer has been off for a while, the date will not be correct. https rely on certificates which has a begin time and date and an end time and date. If the date is not correct, then the connection will fail.

Here's a question. I've got a pretty decent machine - 30G Hard Drive, 128 MB of RAM, 750 speed... but after my kids play Triple Play 2001 CD rom game, if I go on the internet and try to run Real Player, I get the error message, "not enough memory" which is only solved by shutting down the whole system...

I assume this game doesn't clean up too well after itself but is there any way that I can resolve this w/o quitting out of everthing and totally shutting down?

I tried clearing the cache... still got the error message....

Thanks in advance...

A:Real Player error message...

Open resource meter and system monitor then load the game and close.
That'll tell you which part of memory you are low on.
I think it's memory leak and I have no idea how you can get it back without shutting down. I think you know already but here's some information. http://www.zdnet.com/zdhelp/stories/main/0,5594,2271378-1,00.html

A:(Resolved) Real one player error

Hiya

HTTP3260.dll is the Realnetworks plugin. Try this:

Control Panel | Internet Options. Advanced tab. Under browsing, look for Enable Third party Browser Extensions. Untick, apply and restart.

Does that help?

am getting the follow error message when i try to play a mpeg-4 file on real player any help much appreciated
Cannot start playback.

You are attempting to start playback while the playback engine is busy with another function. You will not be able to initiate playback until the other action is stopped or completed. Attempting to play by clicking on a file or link while converting media format, transferring to device, or burning a CD is a common way to cause this warning. This warning will not affect the current process and is only in place to explain why playback did not occur.

Try rebooting your computer then run again real player....maybe the player is getting mixed up. It is also possible that the player is converting the file in order to play it.

I am not 'Tech' per se, but I would like to try and resolve my problem myself,
To make a long story short... I had error 0xc000000f. I have 2 threads on the subject, but the first thread was useless.( I think)
I read gregrocker's tutorial.
I made a Kaspersky Disc. I have a Pop Up from Kaspersky.

Here are the links.

Error 0xc000000f

If you read this...Thank you for your time.

A:Burnt out from error error error! Time to go back to Paper.

Ok mate one thing straight up the Kaspersky only requires a CD you can use a DVD but seriously a waste of useable space. Have been using Kaspersky security and tis rescue disk for years now so just the CD mate.

Just follow the prompts when you run the disk. It will boot (of course) but will not need Windows to do anything.

There are other options -

Bootable AntiVirus Rescue CD for Windows: Free Download any are good and again do not require Wndows to run.

If you can get it going then I would try this

Hi,

I used to subscribe to BT Internet with their free Norton Internet Security. Recently I changed my Broadband subscription to Sky which comes with free McAfee Security for 12 months.

Initially I had alot of issues with removing Norton and in the end used the Symantec Norton removal tool to clear it from my PC to permit me to install McAfee.

I have installed McAfee but the Security Centre shows Action Required on Computer and Files Security. There is a Fix Now button available but when I try this I receive the error: One or more problems cannot be fixed because of an error. The problems are listed as: Real-time scanning is disabled and Spyware and potentially unwanted program scanning is disabled.

The HELP page says to do this manually using the configure button - unfortunately this is not available on screen.

I read a thread online about checking the services are running via services.msc they are!

THe McAfee help centre said to uninstall and reinstall McAfee I did that too but same problem.

The next thread I read was for this forum and so I have followed the instructions and attached the files the text from the DDS is below, grateful for any advise I am close to the point of removing altogether and installing AVG instead.

Welcome to Seven Forums DharamSingh89. Which browser are you using to try and sign in? Have you tried with another browser? I would try to access the sign in page in Safe Mode with Networking and see if it works there. If so, try a clean start to see if you can find a conflict.

Safe Mode

If no help, it will be a tough one since it is specific to that one sign in page, and they have a known issue who's solution did not help you. If you don't have a second browser to test, it is a good idea to download Firefox, or Chrome to have as a second choice if needed, and to test this issue.

Hi

Congratulations getting your hardware issues sorted out. If I remember right, this system came to you without a hard drive and you said you had one to install.

Of course you did a fresh install of the operating system... right? You are not trying to run this system on an old installation from another system I hope!

If you performed a fresh install skip the next line and please proceed with the rest of this post.

If you didn't do a fresh Installation, please consider doing so before anything else. You are doing more harm than good if you are trying to use an installation from another system on this one!

You mentioned needing drivers for USB which should be available from the motherboard manufacturer or if you have an add-in card, they will be available from the card manufacturer.

If you would be so kind as to download and install Speccy: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/speccy/
Run the program. When Speccy finishes  Click File > Publish Snapshot > Yes.
Please copy/paste the link in the Publish Snapshot window to your next post.

Please download MiniToolbox: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/minitoolbox/
Launch the program, check all entries and click GO, Please copy/paste the results of the scan in your next post

Lots of luck and Please keep BC posted

Hello,

For quite awhile I've been having regular BSOD's and lockups for what appears to be no specific reason. I've had my computer BSOD while idle, while under intense load, and even during basic use. I've searched around a lot, tried several fixes, and even tried to ignore it as long as I could.

I've ran Memtest86+ overnight with no negative results. I recently upgraded my CPU from an AMD Phenom II 1090T to an AMD FX-8350. Still the same issues/BSODs. For awhile I believe my SSD might be going a little wonky so I took that out for awhile and still had issues. The only parts I haven't tried (due to inability lack of replacement) are RAM, GPU, and motherboard. I feel it's a hardware issue as it's persisted through several reinstalls of Windows 7, though I could be wrong. Any help in fixing this god forsaken problem would be much appreciated.

At the end of the test it asked me to save a html report yes or no and I choose arrow left for yes but I don't know where it stored this html report?

in any case I wrote everything down just in case.

here it is:

It said in total 3 errors but only shows the above.

Highest error address: 0x3644941AB (13892MB)

Bits in error mask: 0000000000000400
Max contiguuous Errors: 1

I have in total 24 GB, and have 4 sticks, used to have 2 but then I upgraded my memory with two extra sticks.

Use corsair for all 4.
How can I fix this? Is this a wrong setting in the bios?

Also should I worry with this result?

Hello folks,

I know similar questions have been asked but I "might" have a unique one. What I have been trying to do is to copy the "C:\Users", "C:\Program Files", & "C:\Program Files (x86)" to another clean hard drive "D:\".

I'm doing this to make more room for the OS in the C: drive while date will be in the D: drive. Now I have successfully robocopy Program Files & Program Files (x86). I also have copied most of the Users directory but for this stubborn Real\update directory. This is I think the real player program. I get this Access Denied and "Error 5" error. I am in elevated command prompt. I achieved this via the Repair your computer prompt on the Windows install DVD.

I also have rmdir for Program Files & Program Files and have made a mklink for both of them so windows knows where they will be. But I have not did a full boot because I don't think windows will access my Users directory because they have been moved over to the new drive. What I can only do will have to be via the command prompt.

I can't make a mklink for Users because I get an error saying something about duplicate areas? What I was trying to do is go to this Real\update directory but even trying to access that directory via cd commands will not work, giving me a access denied. Again I am in elevated command prompt "Administrator:X:\windows\system32\cmd.exe How can I get to that directory. I just want... Read more

You probably just can't move your program files due to the possibility of config files and registry entries that are looking for your programs on the c drive since that's where they where installed. They should be reinstalled if you want to move them. Also if you move the profiles folder (under c:\user) it will break your profiles and you will need to change the location in the registry. I suggest that you put everything back and just move your personal files, music, pics, & videos on another drive. That should free up a lot of space.
