HTML forms ->send to word/html document?

Q: HTML forms ->send to word/html document?

Good morning all, (at least here in EST) Im not sure if this is the proper forum, so ill see if it dies here before I try to post somewhere else.
Every Month, i need to send in a report on what i have done here at work (read: justify my existence). It generally takes me about an hour to do. What i would like to do is to create a HTML form, formatted the way they want it, with text boxes/pulldown menus, and fill in my information, and have the completed form either A)saved as an html form without the boxes; IE:the information gets added into the actual html OR B) All the information gets pushed into a word.doc.
Ultimately, i would like to have it save with something like this "Report-{date or month}.html (or doc).
Soooo, this being said, any of you code wizards out there know how to do this? Thanks alot for any imput you can give.

Preferred Solution: HTML forms ->send to word/html document?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

When saving a Word 2007 document as a webpage (htm, html), an extra folder is automatically created besides the hmtl document itself. This folder contains background information like pictures, wallpaper etc. Is there a way to prevent that folder from being created in the first place? I've got Word 2000 on another computer, and when I save my word documents as html files over there, that extra folder is not generated. The only time that folder is created in 2000 is if my documents contain pictures, wallpaper etc. In Word 2007, it is created all the time, even though my documents are just plain text.

A:Solved: Word 2007, saving document as html document: how to get rid of extra folder?

Managed to find the solution, it was very simple after all. One has to save the document as a filtered webpage and click "yes" when a box pops up warning you that you will use certain featuers which are specific to Office2007, such as the background. Then the document will save without that extra folder and files.

A:Copy word document to HTML format

What version of MS Word

DO you have all the options installed. Save as HTM may be a selectable option during the installation of MS Word.

What happens when you use the "save as HTM" option Any messages on screen, any prompt for a location to save the file.

What error message(s) do you get.

I've just tried this with a Word XP document. The "save as htm" option allowed me to save a copy of the document as filename.html in the same folder by default. The file opened in IE and Opera quite normally.

I've got several hundred word documents that I need to do some formatting on. I need to go through them and insert html tags into the document as per below...

a short bold text line

a short < b >bold text< / b > line

Minus the spaces of course.

At the moment I really only need bold, italic, underline, and unordered lists.

Does anyone know of the easiest and most efficient way of doing this? (Or some macro code?)

I don't have much experience in Word, but currently looking at writing a macro.

A:insert html tags into word document

You could use a macro like the following. It processes all file in the selected folder.

Sub UpdateDocuments()
Application.ScreenUpdating = False
Dim strFolder As String, strFile As String, wdDoc As Document
strFolder = GetFolder
If strFolder = "" Then Exit Sub
strFile = Dir(strFolder & "\*.doc", vbNormal)
While strFile <> ""
Set wdDoc = Documents.Open(FileName:=strFolder & "\" & strFile, AddToRecentFiles:=False, Visible:=False)
With ActiveDocument.Range.Find
.Text = ""
.Forward = True
.Wrap = wdFindContinue
.Format = False
.MatchCase = True
.MatchWholeWord = False
.MatchWildcards = False
.MatchSoundsLike = False

If it's unencrypted, you should be able to do it like this:
Tools > internet options > security > highlight 'internet" > press custom level > scroll until you see 'submit nonencrypted form data' > check to see that it's enabled. If it wasn't enabled then you'll probably need to restart your browser after enabling it.

Hello. I am currently learning HTML in my CSIS class. As part of an assignment, we have to add a form to collect information about the user. I got the basic code down, thanks to a couple of websites, but I would also like to add some "advanced" features.

1.) For my form, I ask the user for his/her birthdate. I decided to use drop down boxes for the month and day. I was wondering, can I limit the selection of days to the month? Example: If the month of October is selected, the user can only choose 1 though 30 for the day instead of the full 31 days that I have programmed in the code.

2.) For the year that the person was born, I have a text box. How can I limit the value that can be entered no more than 4 digits?

3.) Right now, I have the following in the code for my form: <form action="MAILTO:[email protected]" method="post" enctype="text/plain"> With this code, upon clicking submit, Outlook Express opens with a "New Message" window. Is it possible to program it so that when submit is clicked, that it will send the information directly to my inbox without opening Outlook Express?

Also, I have one other question. When using an unordered list, I know that there are different types of bullets that can be used like circles or squares. Can gif files be used as well?

Below is the code I have thus far for my form. I replaced my e-mail address with a fake one for security purposes.
Thanks for the help.

However, try opening Internet Options > Advanced and make sure "disable script debugging" is checked, and uncheck "display a notification" for every error. (Approximate language for both)

Can you give us a copy/paste of a HijackThis Scanlog following directions here...

Dear friends:

I would like to extend, stretch out the document on the home page of my web site at:

That is, I would like to expand the page vertically and to allow the user to scroll down the page. In addition, I would like to extend the menus/columns on the right and left of the main area. And, finally, I would like to add all this extra space BEFORE the closing footer (About us, Contact us, etc.) so that this closing footer, which is part of the template, appears only once at the end of the long, scrollable page.

At first, I thought that this was a Photoshop image issue, so I posted a message on a Photoshop forum. I was told that this was not an image issue but an HTML issue. I was also told that this was essentially easy to do.

I would appreciate your advice on how to do this.

Thank you in advance.

I infrequently design web sites and I cheat and use Front page. Needless to say, I am JS challenged!

I would like to know how to show a link on my web page that will print a specific document. I know how to link to a document and then open that document and print it, but I am wondering how to just print a document with an onclick selection without opening the document.

On another site I read that someone "open the target document in a small pop-up window, immediately move focus back to the main window, execute the print command, and then close the pop-up." However, I do not know how to write any of this.

In the past when I have added JS to the Html section of Front Page - sometimes it shows like it is supposed to and other times it the actual JS appears when I go to view. Any suggestions.

What happens is that Word is attempting to send the attachment via Windows Live Mail. The computer basically freezes. Hi all,
My problem started a few weeks ago! I caught a Virus and Dr. Web got rid of it as well as some trojan downloaders that Malwarebytes killed.
The virus ruined my Avast as well as Google Chrome - so I installed Avira and Zone Alarm Firewall as well as ZA Forcefield browser. Avira continues to tell me I have a virus and quarantines it. I contacted Avira and they say it looks like a Zone Alarm problem - I contacted ZA - and am still waiting - I also uploaded these to Avira to be checked for a false positive and have not heard back from them either.
I was wondering - if I still have a problem or if this is a false positive?

A:HTML/Infected.WebPage.Gen HTML script virus

A common attack against the web infrastructure can be the infection of harmless web pages. Some malware changes every HTML file stored on the disc and adds a link (very often an IFrame) to a site hosting malicious code. I am using Windows XP SP3.

I am trying to add an "edit" action to the .html file type. I have .html associated with Firefox. I go to Tools>Folder Options>File Types> and .html isn't even listed! (Nor is .htm) So I click "New" and add the .html file type. Then I click "Advanced" and fill in the action info and hit "OK". Then I hit "Close".

It doesn't work, and then when I go back into "File Types", html is not listed anymore. Basically, Windows is ignoring my attempts to add the .html file type.

I created the .xxx file type and added actions to open with Firefox and Word. It worked perfectly.

So what is it with the .html file type that Windows won't create it or list it?

Although properly configured IE 6 to send and receive HTML e-mail, when I write html into my e-mail, it is displayed as text to the receiver. I can receive e-mail in HTML, properly displayed, but I cannot view the source, that is, the View menu does not have a Source selection, not just grayed - it is not there.

I subscribe to some groups / communities through MSN and Yahoo.

When I get email from the groups, they frequently have a message, "We attempted to deliver this message to you with HTML formatting. However your email program does not support HTML-enhanced messages. Please go to your e-mail settings for this group and change your email preference to text only."

First of all am I missing something that I want to have? Is HTML-enhanced preferable?

If it is desireable, should / does Outlook support it?

Am I missing something?? Does Outlook 2000 not support HTML enhanced?

Should I get another email program?

Are my setting in Outlook not correct?

I'd appreciate any help.

I just created and exported an html page from Quark. Now, how do I email it through Oulook and keep the formatting? Is this possible? I'm stuck. Please help!

A:Send Quark Html Email With Outlook???

If the html page is on a server, yes you can do that. I'm not sure how you can do it if the html page is on a local host.

To send a html page, open a send message window, go to Messages > New Using > Web Page then insert the URL.

Is there a safe java or script to use for allowing users

to send html pages to a recipient thru a cgi script?

A:send html page to a friend script?

It depends on how you want to do this. If you want it to send a link you can use a form mailer to do this where the person puts in the friend's email address. I actually suggest you just use a free service like tellafriends.com that gives you HTML to put in your page and it will use their script to send the page.

I am using "click to conver" program that converts Word coucments to HTML, and to send resulting page in body of email, I double click on the icon that would go into Outlook Express email body. But the recipient would get the email with text separated from the graphic portion. The HTML after conversion is in a folder and I click on the file "body" to get the msg to Outlook.
How do I resolve the issue? Also I notice that the graphics in the reciviing end showed up less sharp.
Any suggestions?

I have changed some security settings advised by some of the software I've downloaded to protect from spy/trojans.

Occasionally when I go to do a search on other than google sites, I get the following message:

Your current security settings do not allow you to send html forms

I got this message while doing a search on, searchalot, a search engine.

Can I change this security setting? Is it better to have that security setting?
Please let me know exactly where I would change this setting, and if I even should. Thanks so much. Yahoos. Win98SE IE 6

I am trying to create a form for colleagues to fill in. i am trying to protect the document to restrict people editing the text. but i want them to be able to type in the strengths and weakness text boxes but once i protect the document it wont let me fill in the text for these two boxes. i have a drop down list also but that seems to be working fine. any ideas how i can get this done? i have attached the document its only 1 page

A:Solved: Word - Forms, protect document issue

Hi there,

If you use a table instead of text boxes for the Strengths and Weaknesses section, you will be able to insert a Text Form Field in each box which enables text to be entered when the document is protected (make sure the option to allow 'filling in forms' is selected in the Restrict Formatting and Editing options.)

That's what I do anyway

Hope this helps!
