Q: Yoga 910 touch screen issue

After turning on my 910 and useing the touch screen for awhile it usually always stops working on me. Say I want to pause a YouTube video or click an Internet link, when I touch the screen it only registers that touch as the right click of the mouse. Hopefully that makes sense, when I try to touch what I want on the screen it brings up the right click options menu. When I restart my computer it stops this problem but it eventually comes back again.

I recently did a Windows 10 update to my Lenovo Yoge Ideapad  11 S on July 16th and now my touch screen does not work. When I check the drivers for my monitor and touch screen I noticed the driver was missing. I cannot get Lenovo or Microsoft to fix this. What else can I do to get that driver back ?

From what I can see, your unit does not seems to have made the list, which leads me to believe that this will be the cause of the issue, I would recommend that you revert back to the previous version of Windows, and observe if the fault still occurs or not.

Hi all, I bought an 14" Yoga 710 and have problems with touchscreen from the first start up. After powering on, touchscreen works well for a while but after stopping to touch for just 5-6 seconds it is coming unresponsive. When it comes unresponsive i press in an area constantly right click function works and also touchscreen works well again for a while. It seems that after staying inactive for a couple of seconds it comes to an unresponsive state. I did lots of things (calling lenovo support, recovering Windows 10, HID driver deleting, updating, disabling, turning power management off HID items, turning to default bios setting) but nothing changed. Does anyone have any ideas? Hi guys,  So I have had a yoga 13 for about a year now (love it), however I have come across a minor issue that started occuring about 3-5 months ago. When I open up my yoga from sleep mode,  hibernation, turn it on, or restart my everything works for a couple of seconds and then randomly bubbles with about a half inch diameter start popping up, usually in a horizontal fashion across my screen from about an inch down from the top of the display. These are the bubbles I am referering to are the visual effect when a finger touches the screen and expand into boxes when the touch is held for roughly a second or longer. However these rogue bubbles seem to spawn without cause or warning, and resultingly keep me from controlling my cursor with my track pad, touch screen, or an external mouse once they appear. It is also worth noting that when I made my yoga 13 purchase I also 2 more for family members, neither of their yogas share this complication. Though this case might seem drastic, however in reality it is small and somewhat trivial as I have found a trick that by rubbing my finger around on the touch screen eradically the bubbles dissapear and release my cursor from the binds of their possession. Hi I have bought Lenovo Yoga 500 14 i3 six months ago. Several months ago on the left side of the screen appeared ghost touches. This ghosts touches were exactly on one line of the screen, it is about 6 centimetres from right edge. I went to warranty center and they changed the screen. Two months has passed. And exactly in the same screen line touch screen stoped to work. I've got this problem with my Lenovo Yoga 500 14 ACL: When I start it (Windows 10), the touch screen doesn't work and I have to restart the device to get the touch screen working.I've uninstalled the touch screen drivers, but after a restart the problem stays the same (no new drivers found or installed?).Where can I find the right and latest drivers suiting to this touch screen (Lenovo or Microsoft)?Has anybody an other suggestion what I can try to get the touch screen working from the first Windows-start?

Hi guys! Please help me if you have some experience/thoughts with this weird screen issue. From day 1 (when I bought the laptop), there was a brighter triangular region in the low left corner of the screen, starting from low left corner of the screen. In this region, all the pixels were 50% brigher, but--it was a relativly small region (5mm x 5mm) in the corner of the screen (just above Win start icon), so I wasn't proactive with servicing it and just left it as it was. However, the "brightness region/crack" slowly started growing, and, month by month, now it expands from lower left corner to top middle edge. It is a very "geometrical" and triangular region, but some months ago, another independent region started forming more to the bottom center of the screen, which is more circular and doesn't have straight edges. So this has been slowly progressing for the past 2 years. I' ve finally sent the laptop for service, but the guys there said it is a "result of a liquid spill", which is like totally unacceptable for me, well since obviously a) I haven't ever spill anything over it, b) it was there from day 1, slowly growing in size -- would that happen if it is a result of a spill? It seems to me that liquid spill issues are more "organic shape" spots (more circluar, not triangular), and that they are more-or-less fixed size over time, while this one is triangular and grows with time.Obviously if this can be the result of some liquid spill, then I'll have... ISSUEThe 720 touchpad and touchscreen are the worst.  This issue started out of the box before I had even gone on line.  When the touchpad does work, the right click/left click distinction doesn't work and I have to use the screen, when it's working, for the long hold until the right click options appear. When the screen is working, the ability to close a window and touching it just the right way is dubious at best.  I've tried modifying sensitivity, etc, in the control panel, but there is no difference.   When both window and touchpad stop functioning, I plug in an old HP mouse I have, but when I'm mobile, this means running the mouse down my leg if I don't have a surface to place my laptop upon.  And it also means carrying a mouse with me everywhere I go.  My line of work is often standing and walking with clients so  not really possible in my line of work.   RETURN/REPAIR OPTIONS AREN'T OFFERED OR ARE NOT PRACTICALTo back up a bit, I attempted to return this to BestBuy, but was four days beyond the allowable return date.  I contacted Lenovo, but it's all about mailing it in or turning the laptop over and being without anything for a few days.  Hard to find those few days.  I've tried to live it, but it's been an enormous killer of productivity, not to mention incredible frustration and some embarrsassing typos.    PAST YOGA BUILD WAS GREAT - WHAT WENT WRONG WITH THE 720?My last Yoga 710 wa... Hello, My Thinkpad Yoga is connected to a large display through ThenkPad docking station.  Its lid is closed.   During my work, from time to time I see random touch clicks on my screen, and random opening of menus.  It is clear that the touch screen is active although the lid is closed.  When I open the lid, and still connected just to the 2nd display (large screen) display the phenomena stops.  Worth noting is that although only the 2nd display shows an image, the laptop touch screen is still sensetive to touch.  This is I guess why the random touches show up on the screen -- it feels the keyboard not fingers. I expect the touch screen to be disabled while the lid is closed or when projecting only to the 2nd screen.  The solution of opening the lid while connected to the docking station is not acceptable.  Lenovo's local support suggestion to disable touch for the Yoga is also not acceptable -- people purchase Yoga to get Touch.   A solution please! Yaron

Hey everybody, I just received my P40 last week as a replacement for another Lenovo device. So far, everything seems to work fine with one exception: When I turn the screen over to the "tablet position", the touch screen and the touch pen show erroneous behaviour.a) As soon as I make the first input with the touch pen, I cannot make any further input with my finger, so the touch input is simply turned off. The Windows setting to ignore touch input when the stylus is used is not active.b) When I try to tap buttons at certain areas of the screen, especially at the upper edge, the cursor of the stylus starts jumping around and shows up at the lower edge of the screen. That means that when I for example tap on the "X" symbol in the upper right corner to close a window, I actually click on some of the symbols in the system tray in the lower right corner. This problem stops occuring as soon as the angle between the two case parts (screen and keyboard) reaches/exceeds approx. 40. It does not matter if Windows is in "Tablet" or "Desktop" Mode. I already tried to manually install another Wacom driver mentioned at https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-S-Series-ThinkPad-Yoga/Wacom-Tablet-Service-for-ISD-Driver-Win... and https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-P-and-W-Series-Mobile/P40-Yoga-issues/td-p/3293985. Hi all, I have recently purchased the yoga 720 13" and an active pen 1 from amazon. While using the pen, I would usually rest my hand on the screen whilst writing. Occasionally, I would encouter times when the pen strokes would not register and the cursor for the pen would lag. I would have to lift up my hand from the screen to be able to write again. I did a Windows Update this morning and since then my touch screen is not working properly.  I am unable to scroll my screen by hand and cannot select things with a finger.  However, my Lenovo Active Pen allows me to scroll and select things with the tip.  If anyone could help me figure this out, it would be greatly appreciated.

Hi all, So I just got my laptop like 4 days ago and a little bummed, because already I'm having an issue where the touch screen is not responding to my fingers only the pen. Tried the various drivers provided in other forum posts to no avail. It only started last night so I'm not sure what changed. Update, maybe, but no rollbacks have worked. Any ideas would be appreciated. Love the laptop otherwise but this is a bit annoying.  Thanks!

Hi, I have recently (Dec 2015) purchased a Yoga 11e. The touch screen function has stopped working. Both Windows 10 and Lenovo Support apps say that all updates are in place. I suspect that a Windows update (~31 Jan 2016) might be the fault - could be wrong. Any ideas? Thanks. ps: I tad annoying the the "worlds biggest computer company" (or similar publicity claim) does not have a 24/7 web chat support function

I had the same problem.  After performing a clean-install of Windows 10 Pro (Did not like all that blotware that Lenovo puts in these systems) and "thinking" that I had installed all drivers, I found that touchscreen did not work.  I solved it by RE-installing the i2c drivers (downloaded from Yoga 11e support page).  It was confusing because there was nothing in Device Manager that indicated any drivers were missing, plus when I ran the .exe file for the i2c drivers all it did was "extract" the files, but it did not install anything!So here is how I went about it:  Opened device manager, clicked on "system devices" to locate the i2c device.  I looked for anything with "i2c" in it, and saw 2 entries: "Intel Atom Celeron Pentium Processor............i2c........[etc, etc]".  I went ahead and manually installed the drivers: right-clicked the item, clidked "update driver software", clidked "browse my computer for driver software", and navigated to where the driver files had been extracted to-as explained above.  After the drivers were installed successfully, the names of the devices changed to "i2c controller".  Rebooted the computer and VOILA! The touch screen worked again! Opened "control panel", "system" and there it said: "Touch Support With 10 Touch Points"

Hi, Since installing Windows 10, I am unable to use any functions of the touch screen.  I had a lot of trouble with the mouse pad not deactivating with the button (as I use a plug in mouse most of the time) but I managed to sort that by uninstalling the driver and reinstalling direct from Lenovo. However, the touch screen is making me come to my wits end.  I just cannot for the life of me sort it.  Windows tell me that "No Pen or Touch Input is available for this display" Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Hello, I recently upgraded the mechanical hard drive that came with my Yoga 11E to an ssd. I ran Lenovo system update and then Windows Update. But the touchscreen is not working. Under device manager there are a few exclamation points. Under Human Interface Devices there are 2 entries for I2C HID both have a warning. I tried to update them but it says they driver is update and the exclamation point remains. I am not sure if this is the reason why my touch screen is not working but any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thanks

I am having the same problem. After reimaging, touch screen is not responding. I too checked device manager and found there are 2 human interface device drivers with exclamation points, named I2c HID. A search found Intel device drivers on Lenovo support site and  I downloaded and installed the drivers (n15hc03w.exe). The status of the drivers on device manager did not change. I tried to update these drivers and pointed to the local folder drivers\win\I2C onbut got a message saying "drivers for device are up to date' . Tried 'scan for hardware' still no change to these Human Interface Device. Any ideas?

Hi All, I just bought an 11" Yoga 710 and have an intermittent problem with the touchscreen coming unresponsive. Its normally ok when I start the machine up, but after a while the screen will come unresponsive so I switch to notebook mode and then most of the time it will come back after a few minutes. I've done a search and tried some of the tricks posted a few years back, turn power management off some of the HID items and disabling them as well. None appear to be a solution.I can provoke the unresponsive ness by opening Facebook in Edge, but it has also happened on other webpages and also when using Spotify.Does anyone have any ideas?

I have a Yoga 11e and recently installed Windows 8.1 Enterprise on the device.  After installation the touch screen was no longer functoning at all.  I have downloaded every Chipset, Mouse and Key Board, Software and Utility driver found on the Lenavo website.  When i go to the device manager under Human Interface Devices I have two yellow triangles for I2C Device and when I click on Proerties they both tell me " This device is currently waiting on another device or set of devices to start. (Code 51)". I have installed the GPIO drvier from the lenavo website as per other posting about non-functioning touch screens.  This has not repaired the problem.  I need some assistance or a driver for the touchscreen.

I've had no problems with my yoga 2 pro for over a month, but last night I decided to do windows updates.  This is the model with the i7, and 8gb of ram.  I let it update and then restarted it.  After it started up, I tried to swipe the cover screen up, but nothing was happening.  I then decided to use the mouse, and soon realized that the touch screen was unresponsive.  I've tried to restore the computer to before the updates, but it hasn't fixed the problem.  I can still switch to tablet and stand mode, etc. and the screen will rotate, but I can not get the touch screen to respond to anything.  I tried to install some drivers, but none of them are for the touch screen as far as I know, and nothing else seems to work.  Does anyone know a fix, or maybe know of a driver I need to install?

Try refreshing Windows which fixes 90% of OS issues. Swipe from the right (Charm bar), Settings, Change PC settings, Update and Recovery, Recovery and choose Refresh Windows.

Hi, I bought my yoga 720 laptop at least 2 months ago and everything was working fine until today when my touch screen was not working anymore. I have tried seeing if it was still activated or not, tried re-booting my laptop and it just will not work.Any suggestions? Thank you!CMS

Use the NOVO button to boot into bios and see if it works, there. If so, it's probably a Windows issue. I'd bet it failed after your computer updated to Windows 10 ver 1803. If it works in BIOS but not in Windows, you can use System Restore to roll back the computer to a point where the touchscreen works and let it take the Windows Update, again. Use Lenovo Vantage to make sure all your drivers and BIOS are up to date.

Our Yoga has totally and completely stopped responding to touchscreen inputs. Completely out of the blue, no warning signs. Don't know if it was recently after a Win10 update. No other problems with the computer. I've tried updating all HID drivers through Device Manager with no success either. Any suggestions for what to check before we call it a hardware failure and try to either replace the screen or the laptop?

I read this on another forum while after selecting a link on this forum. It seems to have gotten rid of the edge double swipe. "I got a Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga this weekend (loving it!) but noticed an annoying quirk ? the different Windows 8 edge swipe actions seemed to require two swipes. A few reviews have run into this as well, such as this one from ZDNet.Once you got it reacting to your swipes, though, everything was instantaneous. After experimentation, it turns out that not touching the screen for about 4 seconds was enough to put it into this double-swipe mode ? which is evidence of some sort of sleep mode.It turns out that this doesn?t just cause edge swipes to go missing ? it causes a general feel of sluggishness and lack of reaction. You click a button, and it doesn?t register. You click again, and it finally does.After a bunch of digging and unrelated searches, it turns out that it is indeed a sleep mode issue ? the driver for the touch screen has the option enabled to let Windows put it to sleep.The solution is simple:Open Device ManagerGo to "Human Interface Devices"Go to the last USB Input Device (my Yoga has two), then "Properties"Open "Power Management"Unselect "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"."

Hello people! Shortly what has happened and what has been done. Machine arrived, not our companys common brand. Anyway, Well first action was to install windows 10(1607) from USB stick. Win 10 Enterprise clean. And plan was after that update the drivers. Yes and all partitions were cleaned during the installation. So no going back with those.  After installing everyhing. Touch screen is not working. I went trough the one topic that is located here on the page. Found the wacom firmware update package and updated all that was inside the package. Did use lenovo system update tool for updating everything imaginable there was. Also bios was update. At one point when I did the wacom firmware updates the PEN actually worked. But at that time the touch with finger didn't work. Well at that point I did continue updating and removing of devices/drivers and reinstalling. Well in the end I was again on the same situation that nothing on the "touch" screen works. Has anyone else had these experiences? I have started thinking that maybe there is actually some real malfunction on the touch screen.Last thing I have done is I tried to install the first release of windows 10 from usb. This came to state where it asks for country localization information and when I continue from there it just reboots and takes my back to that screen. My X1 Yoga's touch screen is not being detected by Windows. I tried running the Wacom firmware update tools suggested by other threads but they don't work -- the log file just says "No device". Neither finger touch nor pen work at all. I updated the bios and system interface foundation, didn't help. See attached picture for device manager. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I have started using the touchscreen on this new Yoga 700 and I liked it at first, but I noticed that while scrolling, pages often open by accident...and it happens often. It ruins the experience.   How do I make it less sensitive? Should only open when i push , not swipe. I want to roll through the page and only select and open things i want to be opened.  Also, is there a way to not show the pointer finger icon? I dont really want to see that.  
 
It's weird that in the page, it is too sensitive, but when i switch tabs up top, i have to push harder to activate that and sometimes it doesnt work on first tap. Must need to change settings or something. Where do i go to tweak those settings?

We are really sorry to hear about the issue you are facing.
You can adjust the touchpad sensitivity using the following steps:
 

Press Windows Key + X
Select Control Panel
Click View by, then select Small icons
Select Mouse, then click the furthest tab on the right (should be labelled Elan or Device Settings)
You should have an option to adjust sensitivity in this menu.

My touch screen is not working at all, I have not done annything to damage it and it seems like a driver problem because my pen still woks, but not perfectly. The pen is laging when I use it in the senter of the screen and jumps a lot, but when it is at the sides or top/botom it works perfectly. I have updated the drivers for them but the problem is still there, pleace help

Yoga 520 touch screen does't work ufter updating BIOS v 2.09 and Windows 10, please help me....what the solution

Hi, My screen suddenly stopped working as touch screen (it works in normal mode with the screen and the touchpad). The first times I restarted the computer several times until it worked, also to connect to the network seemed to help; however this time didn't do the trick. I used Lenovo Solution Center, and it didn't show any problem. I checked and updated the drivers in the Lenovo Yoga Mode Control and it seems I'm up-to-date. Now it doesn't want to change to tablet mode automatically anymore, neither to switch the screen to portrait. Thanks in advance for the help.

HI. I BOUGHT YOGA 510-14ISK ON 26 FEB 2017. I FORGOT MY LOGIN PASSWORD SO REINSTALLED THE WINDOWS (WINDOWS 10) AFTER THAT THE TOUCH SCREEN IS NOT WORKING AT ALL. I TRIED ALL UPDATES AND DIFFERENT DRIVERS. BUT I DONT KNOW WHAT DRIVER IS FOR TOUCH SCREEN IN DEVICE MANAGER. ANYBODY KNOWS ABOUT THIS? THANKS AHSAN.

Hi all, So I just got my laptop like 4 days ago and a little bummed, because already I'm having an issue where the touch screen is not responding to my fingers only the pen. Tried the various drivers provided in other forum posts to no avail. It only started last night so I'm not sure what changed. Update, maybe, but no rollbacks have worked. Any ideas would be appreciated. Love the laptop otherwise but this is a bit annoying.  Thanks!

I bought my Yoga in march of this year. It's all been fine and dandy, however last week I've noticed that my touch screen would only react to the pen, not my fingers. Worst thing is, I'm not sure when it happened - I didn't really use the touch screen between july and september, but now I'm back to Uni and using the finger to swipe through different documents really helps. Anyway, I've already tried disabling and enabling the HID compliant touch screen in devices manager, I've reinstalled windows, downloaded drivers for BIOS, chipset, ACPI, both GPU's and the Pen Driver. Is there anything else for me to do, or should I just return it? EDIT: I've also booted the laptop in safe mode, the touchscreen doesn't work there either

It usually occurs after waking up the Laptop from Standby. Sometimes, not always, a reboot helps. What I encounter in detail:- "Ghost Touch" Phenomenon  ,Ghost touch What I've tried so far to fix it: Firmware update: Even though my screen is an LG and is clearly affected, the firmware update program told me it is "not at risk" and wouldn't need an update. Once it even got worse, but it certainly didn't fix anything... So my keyboard got wet, and I'm wait?ng to get it fixed, and have been us?ng touch until now just fine. Now from a single tap on the screen it blacks as if it went to sleep, moving the mouse wakes the  screen. Now I know it's software, because a two finger scroll on the touch pad, and so far only that, causes the same thing to happen. I tried looking up various queries on google, but have  yet to find anything useful. Is there a hardware event log  similar tto what's available on linux? Or does Windows not have this? Any ways, i cant be hen pecking my words out on the OSKeyboard, with the touch pad.

I ran updates, and rebooted... but what's weird, is even though it's fixed I now can't even figure out what that problem was without some sort of log. So Yes: it's fixed. Close and mark as solved, I guess. It's still really weird that it happened right before software updates became available to me.

I have ben dealing with problems with this touch screen since I got the laptop.  It has been continuously ghosting, while it got better after the June update, it still ghosts without touches, until you start using the touch screen.  When using the touch screen it starts drawing gray lines in between the point im touching and the point its ghosting to (the lines arent always direct). I recently wiped my the drive, reimaged to a backup from april and tried reupdating it.  When I got to the touch screen drivers, I got through the initial setup and told it to open the update when finished but the machine froze.  Now when I try to reinstall, I get to the finish page on the update tools install, have it open the updater, but the program immediately closes.Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi,I suddenly noticed that my touch screen is not working. I have tried to update driver for HID-compliant touch screen (however best driver was alread used). Also tried to disable/enable the device but still no function. My recently purchased X1 Yoga touch screen has stopped working. Things I've tried to so far: Updating all drivers for BIOS and other devicesDisabling and re-enabling the touchscreen device and Wacom HID device in Device ManagerUninstalling touch screen device and Wacom HID Device in Device ManagerUnchecking "allow computer to turn off this device to save power"Reboot from safe modeRestore Windows to factory defaultFor clarifications the pen is working just fine.  I was able to get the touchscreen back for awhile by uninstalling the Wacom device in Device Manager and rebooting. That fix doesn't work anymore. I'm really frustrated by this - not even restoring windows to factory default fixes the problem. I've looked online for many hours on this issue and pretty much tried everything suggested. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Any update on this?  I just got my computer, all was fine.  Ran a windows update and the touchscreen stopped working.  Still works with the pen though.

HiI bought my machine a few days ago, the touch screen worked fine than out of no where it stopet responding.The Pen does stiil work. Did I turned it off somehow by mistake?  Thank you!
