I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

hi there,

i have a lenovo G505 laptop running windows 8.1 and i am having issues trying to install my bluetooth USB adapter,
a belkin F8T017,

i have tried installing the drivers but it doesn't recognise the device during the installation, and when i check device manager it shows as a HID compliant Mouse, i have tried everything i can find on google, tried installing the vista drivers in compatibility mode, and repeatedly uninstalled the device in DM, even tried to update the driver software and pointing to the correct drivers but as the drivers are old it keeps saying the drivers installed are the most up to date (even though they are wrong) it does not recognise it as a bluetooth adapter, and it works in my fiancee's laptop and my desktop which both run win7 ultimate.

i am wondering if anyone on here knows of anything i can try to resolve this?

cheers

dave

Perhaps there is no win 8.1 driver written for this device? I would search the manufactures website for an updated driver. I know my Asus G75 needed an upgraded Bluetooth driver to work correctly in 8.1

My bluetooth mouse is causing me headache - again.I used to have times when it randomly turn off but this is not the point here right now. I know that there are already posts about that.In my case my bluetooth works fine for bluetooth loudspeaker and external keyboard but as soon as I switch on my mouse it interferes with the other device. So when I turn on the mouse the speaker stops playing music and the external keyboard is off as well. When I go the settings trying to connect the bluetooth mouse I can see it but when I try to pair it either it disappears in the moment I am hovering over it (as if someone wanted to fool me actually) or when clicking on it successfully I get the message "This didn't work" or "Make sure your mouse is still discoverable".I tried many things already in the settings as well as in the device manager but nothing works. As a matter of fact, everytime when I switch on the bluetooth mouse it messes up with everything.Did anyone have this ever before and if so, could you solve it?Many thanks in advance for your answer and have a nice day!

After finding a lot, I finally Recovered the system from start-up. But now, under the wireless section- Wifi is displayed as Wi-Fi2. Is there is any way by which I can rename it to Wifi. I tried renaming by it says Wifi already exists.
Secondly, Bluetooth option is now showing but is greyed. When I used troubleshooter, it said "Bluetooth Server driver" error but is not able to fix automatically. Does anybody knows how to do it manually. Maybe I need to reinstall the driver but have no idea which one?

Hi: What model wireless netowork adapter does your notebook have? If you don't know, go to the device manager, click to expand the network adapters device manager category and there you will see the name and model # of the wireless network adapter. You have to install the corresponding model bluetooth driver for the model wlan card your notebook has. If you have already done that, and there is no bluetooth radio showing up, then most likely the bluetooth radio on the wireless card has died on you. If your notebook is still under warranty, contact HP technical support for further assistance.

I have to work across three PCs, for which I use a KVM switch. But while I'm on PC 2 or 3 I like to make notes on PC 1, so I use a Bluetooth keyboard and a second monitor which is always on PC1. This has been working fine for weeks.

PC1 is Windows 8.1. Every few days I've had to reconnect the keyboard by going to Bluetooth, detecting it and pairing it again. Windows gave me a code to type into the keyboard and I was away, no problem.

Since Wednesday (23rd) I've been unable to do this. The PC detects the keyboard after a longer search than before. It pairs with the keyboard and says it's connected but the keyboard doesn't work. When I return to the Bluetooth screen, it's gone from the list of devices. I've replaced the keyboard batteries and tested it with my iPad, where it works perfectly well. So my sequence is:

type Bluetooth at Windows home pagesearch for devicesthe keyboard is foundclick Pairwait ...'Enter the passcode for your keyboard; you might need to enter the same passcode into the keyboard'ClickTtry entering a passcode on itcode comes upput it in. 'connecting' then 'Bluetooth 3.0 keyboard connected'; graphic shows still searching for devicesafter close Bluetooth Devices window, keyboard doesn't workReturn to Bluetooth screswitch keyboard off and on, it disappears from devices list

Any idea why it would stop working? It was fine for about four weeks.

Hey there. I am new to this website. I just had one problem with Bluetooth connectivity on Windows 10. For some reason, the Bluetooth doesn't show up in my settings. Sorry, it shows up but there is no option for me to turn it off and on. I have a wireless controller but I can't connect it.

Also after I open settings and click on Bluetooth it says can't connect, turn on Bluetooth.
So I tried using Cortana and I said, "Turn on Bluetooth". Cortana said, "Turning on Bluetooth". Usually, when you go into settings and click on Bluetooth it automatically shows the oval icon for turning Bluetooth on and off. Mines doesn't show that. Sorry if I wrote too much.

After not using a bluetooth set for a while, it is no longer working with my X1 Carbon Gen 2. This same headset used to work with this computer and still works with a cellphone. However, with Bluetooth Enabled and the headset powered, the device shows up in the list of Bluetooth Devices and is shown to be of type Heaset. The Headset service option is enabled in its property settings too. It does not appear in the list of Playback devices, although the device paired properly. Things already tried to solve this but did not work:- Toggle Bluetooth antena on and off- Disable and renable Bluetooth- Update Bluetooth driver.- Uninstall and reinstall Bluetooth drive.- Update sound driver.- Uninstall and reinstall sound driver.- Even tried the bluetooth with the sound driver uninstalled! The problem always remains the same: Bluetooth is on, the device pairs and shows up in the list of Bluettoh device and has the headset service enabled, yet no sound comes out of it and it never appears in the list of playback devices. The X1 Carbon Gen 2 is running an up-to-date Windows 7 64-bit. The Lenovo System update shows that everything else is up to date. How can this be fixed? Thanks in advance, - Itai

A week ago I acquired a bluetooth headset (Diver EF80), and was immediately able to set it up with my phone, no problems. I tried connecting it to my computer a few times, with limited success. Today, it connected without issue, and has been working great, until I noticed that if I was on either discord or teamspeak, no videos in my browser, nor any sound from other programs would play through. If I closed teamspeak and discord, youtube would work like there was never an issue to begin with. After tinkering with troubleshooters and "Allow programs exclusive use over this device" settings, I managed to get youtube to play in the background while I chat on teamspeak and discord, except now I'm not getting any bass lines. I've tried undoing my changes, but none have worked. Everything seems to be working fine, EXCEPT that I am no longer getting bass from the headphones. To clarify, when first connected, there WAS bass, but only one program worked at a time. Now, multiple programs WILL work, but there is no bass.

I've already looked into going into "Sound Device Manager" and clicking "Configure" on the headphones, but the configure button is grayed out and I can't click on it.

Some assistance would be much appreciated.

Does anyone on HPs end have a method to contact google about this disasterous design choice? None of us using their product can, but the decision to not only no longer support - but actively disable - bluetooth audio functionality has made the chromebook useless for online video or music in all but limited cases.  Not being able to listen to music has also made using this machine for typing or research less pleasnt as well as I am generally unable to listen to audio without disturbing others now. The decision to actively disable the existing feature that allowed chrome to stay awake when closed had a similar effect on me - but that I could at least fix by disconnecting the cable to the hardware that detected lid closure. Please, someone, contact or provide a way to contact google and let them know that removing pre-existing functionality without notice or option is not only bad for customers but bad for business. I'm not buying another chromebook unless there's some sort of community outreach to at least explain these kind of baffling decisions.

Windows 10 Drivers for W520 - Bluetooth no longer working I have scoured the forum for a solution to my issue to get my Bluetooth working once again after I installed Windows 10. Lenovo . . . do you have drivers to enable these machines to work with Windows 10.Or are those of us that have upgraded to Windows 10. . . now just up sh1t creek without a paddle (or support). For a customer focussed organisation I find the lack of 'support' not that reassuring.Thinkpad was once reverred . . . I'm now beginning to seriously question this as no solution is easily identifiable when Win10 has been out quite some time now. Can some offer some assitance.

A:Windows 10 Drivers for W520 - Bluetooth no longer ...

I can only offer a suggestion. Since Bluetooth is such an industry-wide communications method, I am sure Microsoft has a driver for every Bluetooth chipset. I would uninstall your current BT driver completely. Then reboot from a cold start (no rapidstart) and let Windows 10 discover the Bluetooth chip and install its MS written driver. The MS driver may not let you take advantages of some special features of your BT chip (if any) but it should work for basic use.

This is really starting to annoy the hell out of me. I just picked up a Microsoft Bluetooth mouse, the Notebook 5000 mouse to be exact for my home entertainment center.

I have my PC ran to a monitor and a 55 inch Samsung LED LCD TV for watching movies etc. The problem is, the HDMI cord is run threw the wall so the PC is in another room so I cant use the normal mouse on the PC. I bought a bluetooth mouse due to the increased range but I'm having nothing but issues.

I have the Microsoft Bluetooth dongle btw, didn't come with the mouse, the mouse actually comes with no dongle.

Anyway it connects fine but if I stop using it for like an hour or whatever it disconnects and nothing I do will reconnect it unless I take my other mouse, go into bluetooth devices, delete it and readd it all over again.

WHY THE HELL does it keep doing this lol?

It's very annoying, I sit down to watch a movie and discover I cant start it without first going into the other room and readding my mouse.

I'm well within range and I've tried moving the bluetooth mouse to the same room as the PC to use it with the PC and it still does the same thing.

Help?

Hello all,

I have been using the toshiba bluetooth stack with my bluetooth dongle. I stopped using it about 6 months ago and recently noticed it wasn't working. I uninstalled the drivers and now the bluetooth dongle doesnt show up in device manager when plugged in, not even with an exclamation mark.

I have tried it in another PC and as soon as its inserted, windows installs the Microsoft drivers and it functions.

I think there must be some residual drivers installed and blocking its function. How do I remove these and start again?

Thanks,

I'm not sure this is the right place to post this but I'm just going to guess that it is.

I recently upgraded my desktop from 7 to 10. I used to connect my laptop (already using 10) to my desktop via Bluetooth and it allowed me to select the desktop pc's speakers as audio output, effectively mixing both computers' audio through my headphones attached to the desktop. This is no longer something my computers seem to do; literally all that has changed is that I upgraded the desktop OS and I would have assumed this is something windows10 can do but the Bluetooth menu is almost comically unhelpful.
It used to be relatively easy to do this in 7 but I am at a loss as to how to do this in 10. Is this functionality somehow not a part of Win10?

A:adding bluetooth to send to on context menu option

Hello Sara

You will need to put a shortcut for bluetooth in the "SendTo" folder.

The SendTo folder is hidden by default. If it is not visible,
Windows Explorer/Tools menu, click Folder Options.
On the View tab, click Show hidden files and folders.

Then
1.Double-click the Documents and Settings folder.

2.Double-click the folder of a specific user.
eg. C:\Documents and Settings\'User Name'\Sendto

3.Double-click the SendTo folder.

4.On the File Menu, point to New, and then click Shortcut.

5.Follow the instructions on your screen.

My Dell Inspiron 7720 17R no longer connects to Jawbone Jambox external bluetooth speakers. Every connection attempt used to work without fail, even without having to re-pair them to my pc. I recently bought a pair of Damson Jet speakers but they won't connect either.

Note: All the above speakers connect to & work perfectly with my iPad2, so I have decided the problem
must be with Win7. No MS site I found has been any help. All I see is blame on speaker makers.
Also, I have run troubleshooters without success but they are bs anyway.

I have exhausted my abilities updating drivers, etc in Win7 64-bit. I have updated everything I can find, both MS & Intel. I have examined every property sheet I can find but don't see any issues. The Services seem to be entering properly. I have also tried manual-ticking each Service when adding the device.

I don't know when the Jambox stopped connecting as I was using it with my iPad2. If I knew when it stopped I could possibly restore to that point but no such luck.

I can add both speaker brands to my laptop devices but "Connection Failed" occurs after numerous tries to pair them. I think they are being added properly as the property sheets do fill with info somewhat. I have removed each device several times, even rebooting after removal, then adding each again singly, only to still have problem.

Note: I had to recently re-install my WebCam & TouchPad from the Dell site. I don't know when I... Read more

I have an Alienware M11x notebook computer.  Recently I purchased a Sony bluetooth headset. I had not previously used any bluetooth devices on the computer.
I set the laptop to discover devices and set the headset to be discoverable.  After pairing the headset to my laptop, I opened my music folder and started listening.  After hearing music for about 60 seconds, the headset went silent and the music starting coming out of the speakers instead.  I then tried to 'restart' the laptop's bluetooth receiver but there was no way to do it.  It was even missing from Device Manager.  Finally, I closed the display and let it go to sleep.  When I resumed again, the bluetooth was back.  I was again able to listen to music but, after another minute or two, the device again disappeared.  I even called Alienware support.  He upgraded the BIOS and reinstalled the bluetooth driver, but it would never work.  This was because he never had me actually shut off the computer.  In other words, once the bluetooth device was gone, the only way to get it back was to sleep or shut down (power off, not just reboot) the machine.
After these steps failed to resolve the problem, the technician set up an appointment for me to get the bluetooth adapter replaced.  This went very smoothly (great on-site support), but when I got home, the problem was still happening even with a new bluetooth module.
