Canon PIXMA ip3000 not printing black

Q: Canon PIXMA ip3000 not printing black

I recently used Magic Flush to unblock my printer heads (Canon PIXMA ip32000). This has worked befoire and, for a week or so I was able to print as normal. Today I found that black wasn't printing. When i looked at the print head I found that the ink didn't seem to be getting through to the print head (whilst the coloured heads looked cyan, yellow and magenta the black head was clear/white). I have tried aligning the heads manually and automatically but to no effect. I am afraid that I might have mucked up things completely, so I would like to know how I can reset the alignment back to its default settings (ie start from scratch) and why black isn't printing (could it be a faulty ink cartridge).

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I was looking for a solution to a similar problem with an MP780, which uses the same inks I think. The answer there was to wash the print head with warm water. Try looking for the thread for MP780 and good luck

I have cleaned and deep cleaned several times and also printed full pages 8 times but the problem still persists. There is no problem with colour. Hello CoCoSD,

Did you try to download the driver from Canon website?
Photo Inkjet Printers - Photo Inkjet Printers - PIXMA Pro Professional Inkjet Printers - PIXMA Corporate and Graphic Arts Printers - Photo Fun Projects - Photo Printer - PIXMA iP3000 - Canon USA Consumer Products

Select your OS and it should work.

I am in the process of setting up my home "network"...I use the term network loosely as it consists of just my laptop connected to the internet (Qwest DSL) via a Linksys WRT54G (version 2) wireless router.

What are my options for printing from my laptop to my Canon iP3000 USB printer?

In my last home, I had the printer hooked to an older desktop that was networked with my laptop so I could print through the desktop connection to the printer.

Is there a way to connect the printer and the router without the desktop??? Is there such thing as a USB hub that can plug into the router? Or do I need a printer router? Or should I just look at a new printer or router? I can't afford a lot right now so I'm looking for an inexpensive option.

Your opinions/suggestions are greatly appreciated.

A:can I connet Canon Pixma iP3000 to Linksys WRT54G directly?

or is there more to it than that?

Hello guys.

I'm having trouble with one very annoying thing I have stumbled upon recently.

I have a canon pixma ip1300 color inkjet printer and I wanted to print only in black and white. I went in the printer preferences and selected to use only the black cartridge for my printing but now every time i print something I get with the following message which I have to click on the "OK" in order to get the printing started.
That is justo so annoying. I print a lot and every time I have to clik .. OK, OK, OK ,pfff

How can I turn off that warning ?

Any ideas ?

Am looking for a Canon printers user forum - does anyone know of one?

My problem is I want to use Automatic Duplex Printing for printing an 8 page A5 size booklet (2 sheets of A4 paper).

Spent an hour on the phone with the Canon Help (so-called) Desk to no avail.
I ended up zipping and sending my newsletter to them so they could work out how to set up the printer for ADP.

That was over two weeks ago - nothing since. I sent an email to the person who received the newsletter but still no answer. I notice that Canon has NO email support at all. The only way to get in touch with them seems to be through their telephone support which wastes so much time while waiting to get through.

I thought a users forum may be the best shot but have not been able to find one.

Thanks

A:Canon printer ip3000 - automatic duplex printing

To use A4 paper in an A5 booklet, with auto duplexing I would assume that the process must be controlled by the application doing the printing. Not essentially the printer itself.

The printing application is what I think would decide what pages are printed on each section of the A4 paper, the printer only knows it is printing both sides of the page (and not the detailed content).

Perhaps some printer drivers get more involved, but I do wonder if you are seeking help from the right place, going to Canon?

A:Solved: Canon ip3000 no black print

Most inkjet printers depend on having both of the cartridges working properly since the color shows low I suggest purchasing a new color cartridge install it and see if that fixes the problem.

You can also remove the inkjet software and drivers and re-install and check it out.

The printer whirrs, pulls in the disc, pauses, then sends it out again, with the error message. I've been at it for two days, even trying different programs (including Canon's own ImageGarden) on the chance that it might be a program confusion, but still can't print a disc. So i plug my printer into my mac, it automatically installs, prints absolutly great. Next day, it won't print whatsoever. Now it won't work in my windows laptop either despite again, being installed. The mac could see it was there originally, but I then reset my printer settings on the mac and the mac forgot all the printers. The printer no longer registered on the mac at all. It was literally nowhere despite being connected with the usb. Its like im plugging in air. I then downloaded the correct drivers and software, yet still nothing happened. I don't understand what is going on!
It won't connect via bluetooth either on both my mac and my windows laptop, despite trying! The mac simply will not let me add another printer via ip address, and i can't even if i could because I cannot find the ip address because the printer won't respond.
I printed off a network configuration page and the connection is inactive if that helps anything.
PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME THIS IS DRIVING ME MAD

I did a couple of black only deep cleanings but still prints black in a blue tone. I had Canon customer service tell me it could be a malfunctioning print head. Is there a way to clean the print head using alcohol and will this possibly clean the head without damaging it? I have used this method on other printers. Does anyone have another suggestions.

Hi there, I wiped my laptop in order to try and get the Toshiba webcam to work, unfortunately it didn't. But in the process I got rid of my Canon Pixima ip3000 driver. My operating system is Windows 7. The laptop I had before installed the driver disc no problem but my old laptop was Windows XP. When I loaded the Canon driver disc onto the newer Toshiba laptop the message read, this is not compatible with this computer as it runs on a 64bit and the disc driver is 34bit. So I downloaded the printer driver directly from Canon, but, it still is not working. My laptop now recognizes that there is a Canon printer attached and says there is 3 print jobs waiting, but nothing prints. I have checked to see if the pause button is clicked, that is fine. Is it something to do with the serial ports not being correct ?? I just don't know what to try next. Anyone that feels they can help.....would be much appreciated.

I've recently had to replace some of the ink cartridges in my Canon IP3000 printer. This is the first time I've had to do this. I've made sure that everything that's needed to be removed from the new catridges has been removed, made sure they've been inserted correctly and securely, and in the correct slot, and are of a compatible type to my printer. I've performed both a normal 'cleaning' and a 'deep cleaning' to try to fix my problem... all to no avail.

My problem is this... everything that is printed, now has a green cast to it, which is causing me to think that not all of the colors are reaching the paper.. ? I've printed off a test sheet to illustrate my dilemma...
http://www.butterflyexpressdesign.com/ip3000.jpg
Notice how the "6C", "6M", etc has a green cast when it should look black like the "3eBK".

Could someone please advise me how to proceed from here? Thanks as always for the assistance!

I have a Canon i850 printer which I have immensely enjoyed using these past four+ years. For one thing, I've never had even one paper-jam during that time.

My understanding always has been that it is best to have separate components, so that's why I've always owned a dedicated printer. However, it appears that the present-day trend is more toward all-in-one units. Actually, I'm in the market only for a printer, but if the Canon MP600 all-in-one is technologically advanced far beyond my i850, then I would strongly considering buying one.

The MP600 has a scanner (which I don't need, although it would provide me with a back-up) and it has several modern features of convenience which my i850 doesn't have. What I would especially like to know is whether or not the MP600 produces appreciably better results with both text and photos than my i850. Also, would it be faster and cheaper in the long run than the MP600? While quality of results is more important than anything else, speed, economy, and convenience also enter into the equation.

(I was also considering the Canon PIXMA iP6700D photo printer, but from what I've read so far it appears that the MP600 all-in-one is more highly-regarded.)

I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has an opinon on this matter. Thank you very much.

I have a canon i9900 printer. It was working fine until a day ago. It began to print in a stutter step fashion - each line looked like it was attempted to print 2 or 3 times - giving a lined/shadowed effect. I did a cleaning of the heads and replaced the black ink. The "stuttering" stopped, but now my printer will not print anything in black. I did a cleaning of the heads and deep cleaning to attempt to clear the problem. I ran the cleaning program 10 times and the deep cleaning another 10 time. I also changed out the black ink again hoping to correct the issue. The printing still does not recognized the black - the test stripes are kind of a gray green. The print pattern shows group one faded and the top line of gray only prints the lower half of the block. Any ideas on how to fix this would be much appreciated! Thanks

I'm having problems printing black and white photos using ADOBE Photoshop 7 and Canon i965. On Standard printing, plain paper, and to a lessor degree on other paper types, am getting parallel horizontal lines with a pink/magenta cast when printing a single colour such as blue. Recommended Adobe conversion features, I convert colour pictures to black and white, all produce BW prints having a Brown colour cast. I have replaced cartridges and used all printer maintenance actions to no avail. Inserting a picture into Word and then converting it to BW has the same effect. Is this a solvable problem?

A:Help-Black & White printing problems with Canon i965

What is happening with the black I think is that most printers print raster images by mixing the colors to get black. Some don’t do a great job of it. You might run a nozzle check to see that nothing is clogged.

If you scan the document originally in one bit it might print better. One bit is “line art” or “black and white” on most scanners. You can also try Image>Mode>Bitmap in Photoshop. Then use the threshold command to clean it up so you don’t get the extraneous stuff. Once you get it into bitmap you can select a solid color.

If it won’t let you switch to bitmap you could mess with levels or contrast to try to get the extraneous stuff out. You might mess with the histogram in the scanner to clean it up as well. It sounds like your scanner is picking up the extra stuff you are seeing.

If you have a HP printer most have a “black only” under grayscale. That won’t help printing in a solid color though. With black only you use only the large pigmented black tank.

My Canon printer stopped printing any black ink. I spent hours searching forums and trying to fix it, and finally found a solution that actually worked so I wanted to share it with others.

My printer (Canon MP500) was printing zero black ink in documents and the colors were all off. First, I took out the printer head. (After removing the ink cartridges, remove the device that holds in the printer cartridges). Then put it under warm running water for 2 minutes (running the water through the same place the ink sets into) to flush out all the built up ink. Then I let it air try on a cloth towel for 24 hours. When I reinstalled it, the colors were more accurate and working much better. However, I still had no black ink printing when printing documents, though I could see that when I did a test print with the nozzle check, there was some black there so I knew it was possible.

Then I tried the trick of putting glass cleaner on the print pads as described in another forum. I took q-tips and dipped each into a spoon full of glass cleaner until it was very saturated. Then I dabbed a q-tip (using a flash light to see) into the printer, to the bottom right, where the ink cartridges return to after they are in the middle of the printer when you open the cover. The pads are rectangle in shape, maybe half an inch by 2 inches. They look a little like ink pads you would use with a stamp. I put the q-tip to the two pads so that the glass cleaner would transfer. I had to do this several time... Read more

A:Canon pixma MP 780

Updating drivers usually doesn't affect the hardware itself. Its strange that it simply stopped working because you installed vista drivers on another computer. My Pixma was simply a plug-and-play from my vista desktop to my XP laptop.

Can you provide more detail? Does the computer detect the printer but it simply doesn't print? Or is the printer undetected completely? Maybe you could try uninstalling then installing new drivers for it.

A:Canon Pixma

As regards not being able to reproduce a complete picture, try reducing the 'PPI' setting in your scanner software prior to scanning. Whilst 300 ppi is considered the optimum setting for photo scans which you intend to print, that's way too high for an email. Try scanning at 150 ppi or even 100 ppi if it's only for an email attachment.

The scanning time will then be much shorter and there will only be half as much data for the PC to cope with (compared to scanning at 300 ppi).

I can print pictures that are on my Samsung laptop, using my Canon Pixma MP620 with a USB cable, but when I try to scan a picture and send it to my laptop, nothing happens. A window opens asking me what device I want to use and only shows my old Epson (which I no longer have) When I go into the control panel & click on hardware and printer, it shows my Canon MO620 and has a green checkmark by it so I'm pretty sure it's capable it just won't cooperate! Thanks for any information!

Does Devices and Printer also list the MP620 listed as a scanner? My Canon MX490 Shows up 3 times as Printer, Fax, and Scanner. I yours does not show as both a printer and a scanner, you may need to reinstall the driver software.

This is an extremely basic question ...

I only turn my printer on when I need to use it, which is not too often. By chance, I happened to look at Control Panel/System/Device Manager/Disk Drives while it was connected, and I was quite astonished to see the following entry:

Canon MP600Storage USB Device

followed by all my regular HDs (3 in all).

Is this normal under VISTA? I ask as I have some problems with certain USB-attached devices, and am trying to isolate the problem.

Thanks in advance.

My Canon PIXMA MG6120 doesn't print the text in a document containing both text and photos. I think the driver may be incorrect, but am uncertain which driver to load from the Canon website. I am running Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit on an HP TouchSmart 600-1050. Any suggestions?
