Installing Ram same brand different frequencies

Q: Installing Ram same brand different frequencies

Hey peeps!

I just bought another 8gb stick of ram to go with my other 8gb. Whats installed in there right now is the Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200mhz 8gb. The one i purchased is Corsair Vengeance LPX 2400mhz 8gb. My motherboard being a MSI Z170a sli pl. Will The 2400 mhz stick work with the 3200mhz? If so how would i go about installing it? Do i dual link it, or single? Go into bios set timings with the 3200mhz?voltage?
Or will putting in the Stick automatically adjust the to what it needs to be?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

It should work but both sticks will run at the lower speed of 2400MHz.

Are you in Poland ? (Looking online for your motherboard found only Polish websites).

My Windows 8.1 laptop, fitted with an Intel Centrino Ultimate-N 6300 AGN wireless adapter, suddenly stopped automatically connecting to my router a few months ago. I attempted to connect wirelessly to multiple other routers, all to no avail. My laptop could only connect through an ethernet cable/tethered hotspot. I then moved houses and got the internet set up on a new provider and suddenly my laptop could connect wirelessly again! Sadly, after trying to connect to my university's wi-fi, I found out that the laptop wasn't fixed, it was simply able to connect to my new 5Ghz internet but still had trouble connecting to 2.4Ghz access points.

I've tried everything I can to fix this as my laptop is too vital to my studies for me to be without it even for a short period of time, therefore sending it off for diagnostic and repairs is out of the question for now. So far I have tried:

Installing the latest Windows 8.1 drivers for the card (currently on v.15.14.0.2)
Replacing the wireless card with a new one (same make and model)
A complete, fresh re-installation of Windows 8.1

Running out of ideas on what to try and so turning to the community for help. Even if you're not sure of a fix, determining the problem itself would also be a big help. Thanks much in advance!

A:Laptop can't connect to 2.4Ghz frequencies, only 5Ghz frequencies

Try the latest wireless driver from the laptop manufacturer's web site.

If that doesn't work then try the latest driver directly from Intel's site.

So here's the story. One of our staff knocked a ThinkCentre A2U onto the floor.  It appears that the HDD is damaged beyond repair - we can't get past the BIOS screen. Easy enough to buy a new HDD, but how to install Windows 7?  We have the Product Key, but Microsoft rejected it saying that we needed to contact the manufacturer - Lenovo. So here we are.  DigitalRiver is no help, it just refers back to Microsoft. Any suggestions, guys?

I am new to Windows 10, never used it... Here is my question...

I have a new SSD and a genuine Windows 7 Pro key, which I have not used. Do I have to install windows 7 with this key on my new SSD first and then upgrade and then clean install windows 10 or is there a way to do a clean install of Windows 10 and then activate using the windows 7 key.

I suspect the answer will be NO but I thought I would ask...

Thanx for the replies...

A:Installing on a brand new SSD with a genuine Win 7 Pro key...?

No need to install 7. Download 10 Pro from Tech Bench, put it on a USB with Rufus, clean install Windows 10 and put in your 7 Pro key when asked.

Absolutely there is no need to install 7 first.

Hi all,

A few days ago, I bought a GALAX Gamer 120GB SSD and a Toshiba 2TB 7200RPM HDD from a PC parts store. I installed them in my tower's case and connected them up. Then, I attempted to install Windows 8.1 Core onto the SSD from a bootable USB drive I had made using Microsoft's Installation Media Creation Tool. The installer promptly error'd. I attempted a few more times, to no avail. I contact MS's answer desk, and they couldn't help, so I left it for the night and went to bed. The next day, I decide that I will attempt to install Windows onto the HDD and then clone it over. Of course, it installed perfectly fine on the HDD. Using both Windows' System Image Backup/Restore tool and a myriad of others, I still could not get an installation on the SSD. I ran a surface test on the SSD which turned up fine. I tried again tonight with the same USB drive to install Windows onto the SSD, again, it error'd, I contacted the MS Answer Desk again, they had me change a BIOS settings, and then take my ram cards out and clean them with an eraser. Neither of those worked, and MS support suggested I contact a local tech as it is a hardware issue.

Do you guys have any thoughts on what I should do? Feel free to PM or reply asking for more info.

TIA,
Stannis

I just bought a new laptop yesterday, so there's no bugs or anything on it. All I've done is check my gmail, install an the antivirus program Best Buy gave me, and try to install some of my audio recording software (Adobe Audition and Guitar Port).
And that is where my problem starts.
My old computer had windows xp on it, and it ran my software just fine.
Now with this brand new computer, it won't install.
I get just past the part where you agree with all their license stuff,
and then suddenly it tells me, "Setup has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly." And then it just closes the program.
I bought this software in 2007, so I hope it isn't "too old" for Windows 7 or something...

I just recieved my new Dell dimernsion 4600 and wanted to install an Optorite DVD+/-RW that I just purchased. The burner reads and writes in both cd and DVD. My new Dell came only with a CD ROM drive. I am wanting to know if there would be an advantage to keeping the new Dell CD-ROM drive in my computer or should I just install the DVD burner in its place.

THanks for your assistance. I am definitely new at installing hardware so any tips about the installation process would be very helpful

A:installing DVD burner on my brand new dell

If the CDROM is on the secondary IDE cable, install the DVDRW on the same cable as the CDROM. Make the DVDRW master and the CDROM slave.

This way you can do on the fly CD to CD copying.

At the end of the year you can replace the CDROM with one of those Dual layer DVD 16x drives that are supposed to be coming out.

3. The drive that died on me was a Seagate Momentus 7200.1, 100GB, 7200 RPM, Firmware 8.04
4. I went online to best buy and micro center, but am in the dark regarding the driver interface. Since the laptop is pretty much dead in the water, how can I determine the it? I'll need to know that before I walk up to the kid in the store, right?
5. As soon as you tell me what I need to buy, I'll install it and then have some questions about installing Windows XP.

Thanks in advance,

A:Installing a brand new hard drive, what's next?

Hey Patrick,

Yes you check what the problem is in your lap before buying the HDD. So,
Does the laptop turns on without the hard disk? If so a message should appear there is no boot device.
If the lap works fine without the hard disk well you should buy the new one.
If the lap is pretty much dead well it is probably dead from every circuit on it.

Is that an actual XP Pro CD, and is it XP original or XP SP1?

If you've installed a new hard drive, it needs to be formatted before you can install XP Pro in it.

The XP Pro CD does all the work - if that's what you have.

HELP!! This is frustrating!

A:CRC Erorr message installing brand new Game

CRC is a mean of verifying the integrity of the data. The content of the data that's written on the drive is compared to a reference data. Could be an error on the CD, with the CD drive or on the hard drive but an overheating cpu or a failing ram stick can also cause read/write errors.

See if you can install the game on another computer to check whether it's the CD or your computer that's in cause. If it installs fine on another computer come back and report here.

Hello

First of all, can I say that I am somewhat computer illiterate, but I am determined.

I recently purchased a new desktop computer, the specs are:

Intel Core i7 2700K CPU - 3.5GHz
Gigabyte / Asus Z68 Motherboard
16GB DDR3-1600MHz RAM
1TB SATA3 7200RPM Hard Disk
BluRay Combo Drive(LG)
2 x ATI HD6970 2GB PCI-e in Crossfire configuration
Antec Nine Hundred Gaming Case
Thermaltake Tough Power XT 875W PSU

Now it comes time to install windows 7 professional, so I purchase a copy of the OEM version (because I'm stingy).

When I put the DVD in the drive it boots straight away and it comes up with a black screen that says "Windows is loading files........." . The bar on the screen loads and then it says "Starting Windows", after that a blue screen with some leaves and what looks like a very small bird appears in what I am assuming is meant to be the start of the windows 7 professional setup screen, however nothing comes up and after a while (5 minutes or so) my computer restarts and it's groundhog day (has been doing it for the last 3 hours).

Can anyone help me?
Cheers

Hi.

A few weeks ago I decided to get a new computer for gaming, but not knowing much in the field of hardware I let my cousin (way better on the subject) basically pick out the parts, let me order them, and he'd put it together.

The parts came a few days ago and Ive had the computer built for awhile, we ordered Vista home premium with it (32 bit edition) and I still have yet to get it installing correctly.

So basically the first night I start installing it, everything seems to be going fine but its taking a LONG time (around 7 hours), at 1 AM it still shows no signs of being done and I did not want to leave it on overnight, so I turned it off.

Turned it on the next morning, saying it didnt finish and would need to resintall, tried it again except this time it stays at 0% on the second step ("Expaning Files")

I mean, after like an hour or 2, its still at 0%, but the computer has not actually FROZEN, just hanging or whatever.

Ok, no big deal, I use a reformating program, completely wipe the HD and try again.

Its not freezing anymore! huzzah! So I wait for 7 MORE long hours, watching it slowly install, it restarts a few times, theres some points where its just a black screen with the mouse cursor for like 15 minutes, I get the "Vista is preparing for its first start" message, it restarts, says its completeing the installation, then I get an error saying something along the lines of "Windows setup failed to install Vista on this hardware"... A:Huge issues installing Vista on a brand new PC

It's possible that you got bad memory or a bad drive. Start with the memory. If you have multiple sticks, remove them one at a time and try to install. If you want faster results, use a memory test. You can use the one on the Vista DVD or:

MemScope (Floppy and CD images.)
Microsoft Memory Test (floppy or CD ISO image)
Memtest86

Then I'd suspect some misconfiguration of the drive. Check BIOS settings and look on the drive for a jumper (even SATA).

I've installed a few Vistas and the number 7 was not ever involved, even on old machines.

Hi I recently built a system, bought all the parts on newegg, put it all together, and everything starts up fine, seems really smooth. Unfortunately when I try to install vista, it BSOD's on me before I can even get to any startup screen. It goes to the windows loading files part, then on the next teal blue screen it bsod's. I bought a new sound system along with all the other components and it included a sub that warns to keep it away from PC's etc. Unfortunately they put the boxes right next to each other outside my door, is there any chance it could have fried both my HD's? I've tried everything I can think of, installing with just 1 HD (tried both), tried with 1 stick of ram (tried both), I just can't think of what else it could be. I'm pretty sure everything is compatible or else I wouldn't even get this far, but I'll list my system.

Also tried to install windows xp as a last resort, I get a bsod during installation on that (right at the end, finalizing installation step) and eventually I even got it installed, but then it bsod right at the end. When I restarted I even got to a mainscreen kinda, where it told me it was changing my resolution, it changed it then I got an error about Windows media player. Tried repairing the install and it said couldn't copy file wmp.dll along with about 30 other files. I'm just at a loss and really frustrated here. Anyway, here is the system.

A:BSOD installing Vista on a brand new comp

Hi -

I am concerned about the formatting of the drive(s).

Re-format the HDD with KillDisk then try the Vista installation again. Leave XP out of this for now.

KillDisk - http://www.killdisk.com/downloadfree.htm

Make bootable KillDisk ISO CD w/ ImgBurn -
ImgBurn - http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download

Be sure to change the BIOS firing order so the DVD is 1st.

If you get another BSOD, get at least the 1st 2 sets of numbers. Any digits to the right of the "0x" that are zeroes are assumed. So, if the code is

0x0000008e -- this is equal to 0x8e or 8e

Try to get the "8e" or whatever the number is from the 1st and 2nd set of numbers of the bugcheck

A:Lenovo IdeaCentre 510-15ABR - installing an SSD for brand

A SSD is no different from a regular spinning drive to the computer , and per the Hardware Maintenance Manual for your model, you can add a M.2 SSD storage drive (see page 34 of Hardware maintenance manual) in addition to the drive you already have if it is a spinner  in the storage bay, so there is no reason to go with a hybrid, and I believe one additional storage bay is available on that model as well that can accept an addition 3.5" drive, or even a 2.5" HDD or SSD drive (with 3.5"-2.5" adapter) as shown on page 37. Cheers,

There are 2 basic types of hard drive that most people will want to install.

They are 1 - Pata, also called ide and ata. Easy to recognise as they have a large 40pin socket and jumper settings.

And 2 - Sata, both sata 1 and 2 are set up in the same way. They are easy to recognise as they don't have a 40 way socket but have a 4 way instead.

There are also scsi hard drives but i doubt may people will be using them so i will not be dealing with them in this post!!

Pata - Pata's will connect via a 40 way data cable that has 2 plugs on it excluding the one that plugs into the mobo.

It is VERY VERY important to get the jumper settings correct or THEY WILL NOT WORK!!!!

There are 3 basic jumper settings, cable select, master, and slave.
The easiest way to set them up is to use cable select. The mobo itself will then assign master and slave as it sees fit. Usually it will set the drive on the end plug as master and the other one as a slave.

If you are running more than 1 pata drive on the same cable then you must insure they are both set to cable select or that 1 is set to master and 1 is set to slave. Having both set to master WILL NOT WORK, and having both set to slave WILL NOT WORK.

Once that is set correctly most mobo's will be happy and boot fine, if yours doesn't then you will need to check the bois settings. The instructions for doing this will be in your mobo manual!!!

Sata - Only 1 device is catered for per cable so ther... Read more

A:RAM Frequencies Problem

Indeed the board does but as is shown

Dual Channel Memory Architecture
Supports Intel® Extreme Memory Profile (XMP)
* Hyper DIMM support is subject to the physical characteristics of individual CPUs.
* Refer to www.asus.com for the Memory QVL (Qualified Vendors Lists

all except 2400 and 2133 are OC

Your processor
https://ark.intel.com/products/97128/Intel-Core-i7-7700-Processor-8M-Cache-up-to-4_20-GHz
Memory Types DDR4-2133/2400, DDR3L-1333/1600 @ 1.35V
supports those none OC at SPD - serial presence detect

So your ram although I do not know which exact model of Vengeance it is - as explained in your motherboard manual must when OC not only be configured alone for ram but as part of the sophisticated procedure on that motherboard - where if you wish you can simply use the 5 step automated process explained on your manual
Have you checked if your Corsair ram is on the QVL list from Asus
https://www.asus.com/uk/Motherboards/ROG-STRIX-Z270E-GAMING/HelpDesk_QVL/
That list cannot of course list all ram that will work with that board, but what is listed has been tested by Asus

This presumes the problem existed - not only on one or two games but across the board

Hey all, this is my first post here, its great to be here!

Anyways,

I just purchased a new motherboard, cpu, and memory (wanted to finally switch from AMD)
I purchased the Core 2 Quad 6600, Gigabyte P35-DS3P, and 2x1GB of Ballistix Tracer
I have Windows XP Pro w/ all current updates

The speed of the memory is DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500)
and my motherboard supports DDR2 1066 and dual channel memory

When I run CPU-Z it says Max Bandwith for each stick is PC2-6400 (400mHz)
The timings are :
Frequency 533mHz, CAS Latency 5

is the frequency correct? it seems slower, i mean my old pc-3200 memory was running at 400mHz CAS latency 2.5.

Just wondering what I would need to change in the BIOS, this mobo's got great OC'ing tools

Thanks for looking appreciate any help!

A couple of months ago, I built a capable gaming rig (E8500, ATi HD4850, 4GB PC-6400 RAM on a Gigabyte EP35-DS3L with Vista x64), and set it up. It was my first time building a computer from scratch on my own, but I made it and recently overclocked my CPU.

I intended to overclock it to 3.6GHz, and it looked like that in the BIOS but using CPU-Z, it reported it at 6 x 380.0 MHz or 2280 MHz. It does change to the 3.6GHz at times in the program, but never in the output file. I'm assuming this is because of some energy saving thing? The mobo did come with an energy saving program, but I disabled it and stopped it from starting on boot, but I guess I may have not gotten rid of it properly.

CPU-Z also reports that my RAM is PC-5300 (333 MHz x 2), even though the RAM was sealed (at least, it looked like it). My CPU-Z output file is attached, if you want to take a look at it.

Regards,
Cal

Is it possible to pick up radio frequencies and interference on computers? I opened my Windows Media Player today and heard, very quietly, a talk radio show and was flabbergasted. It has never, ever, ever happened before. I don't listen to internet radio so I don't know what it could be. Completely dumbfounded over here.

A:Radio frequencies?

Yes, it is possible. Computers are an FCC Class 15, sub-part B product, which means that while they may not cause interference in other products, they must accept any interference caused by something else. That's why your PC can pick up talk radio. You were either picking up a local radio station, or something nearby was radiating that signal.

That's it in layman's terms. You can look up the officialese in your owner's manual if you like.

Good day to all. Can someone please assist me, advance thanks..

I bought a PC with MSI mainboard, N430GT, with 2-2GB Kingston KVR1333D3N9/2G installed RAM (=4GB), 500GB HDD.
Everything works smooth until I read that I could upgrade memory up to 16GB max. BTW my OS is Win7 64 Ultimate.

So I decided first to buy and install 2pcs-4GB Kingston KVR1333D3N9/4G (=8GB), for a few days everything works fine as expected, I shut it down one night and the following day restarting my PC, it turned BLUE with messages., and then on as often as every 5 minutes or less it turns BSOD.

I asked my friends and told me to do a clean OS reinstallation and I did that, but the problem persisted as if nothing changed.

So I did a memory diagnostic and It noted that possible hardware problem.

I did immediately changed and swap back my original 2pcs-2GB memory, and surprisingly until this thread writing it is ok.

My mainboard supports dual channel (two slots only) and I want to know how could I checked which one of the two 4GB memory modules is not working, or is it safe to install only one 4GB memory to checked which of the two is working or both are not working?

Any immediate response is of great help. thanks.

A:BSOD after upgrading &/or installing new memory module on brand new PC

The Kingston Value Ram (KVR) is known to be marginal and not even work in some PC's. The regular Kingston memory is usually OK but none of the techies that I know will use or recommend the KVR.

Check the MSI (or whoever the motherboard vendor is) site for your motherboard model (you didn't list it so I can't check for your). The N430GT is your video card, not the motherboard. Most motherboard vendors list compatible memory for their motherboards. Best to use memory that has been certified for the specific motherboard.

I just purchased a brand new Windows 7 laptop for school, unfortunately they don't support Windows 7 so I need to install Windows XP.

I insert my disk to format and do a clean install of XP but I return this error:

A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.

If this is the first time you've seen this Stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:

Check for viruses on your computer. Remove any newly installed hard drives or hard drive controllers. Check your hard drive to make sure it is properly configured and terminated. Run CHKDSK /F to check for hard drive corruption, and then restart your computer.

Technical Information:

***STOP: 0x0000007B (0xF78D2524, 0xC0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)Click to expand...

I literally just got this computer, plus I've even tried to put the Windows 7 install disc, and that works fine.

I've tried inserting 2 separate Windows XP discs that have both worked for me in the past, and both return the exact error.
System Specs:
HP G60 Noteboox PC
Dual Core 2.10GHz
4.00 gig memory
64 bit OS (Could this be the problem? Both XP copies are 32 bit)

Thanks for any help you have!!

Hi all, trying to setup up a secondary monitor (LG 24MP58) for my Lenovo Yoga 900 tablet...to no avail. Everything seems to be assembled correctly, but absolutely no response from the LG. Doesn't even light up or appear to be "trying" to work. There are no physical buttons or controls of any kind, on the monitor. Win 10 generated a PnP monitor in Devices. HDMI is connected to Type-C USB port on tablet via Insignia adapter. Would eventually like to have a duplicate of my tablet screen on the LG.
Any help or suggestions greatly appreciated.

Hi y'all,
I recently bought a bluetooth adapter for my speakers, so that I can play from my phone or PC without connecting cables. Works great, except that on the PC my bluetooth mouse conflicts with the speaker -- when I move, click or scroll the audio pops and cuts out. I'm guessing it's because they're on the same frequency, but I'm wondering if there's any way I can adjust that so that they don't conflict. Any help is appreciated!

Are you using the same BT adapter for both the speakers and mouse?

The specs of my computer is in my signature. The freq. in which my ram is suppose to run is 1200Mhz. I'm trying to figure out how i can get it to actually run at that speed. When i go into the bios it allows me to either set it to auto or 400, 553, 667, 800, or 1066Mhz but nothing higher. When i set it to auto during startup it says DDR2 667 however when i set it to the 1066Mhz it says DDR2 400 during startup. How do i go about getting it to run faster?

A:Solved: DDR2 frequencies

it seems that your motherboard only supports up to ddr2 800. =P

My husband bought me a brand new laptop from Best Buy and also recently purchased an iPod touch for me for Mother's day. I had downloaded iTunes 9 on my old laptop (before getting this new one), the old computer was running Windows XP and I did not encounter any problems installing iTunes 9 & using it to get my Touch started.

I wish to install iTunes 9 on the new computer to use for playing, storing, and burning CDs but when the download is complete and I start going through the installation process, at the very end of it all I get an error message saying that the installer detected an error and the installation could not be completed...and then something about try installing later. I would have copied and pasted the message but I am in a bit of a hurry and I don't have time to sit through the whole download again to get the message.

Anyway, I can follow directions but if anyone has any help to offer please put the information in lamens terms...I'm very familiar with computers and other forms of technology but after wasting all day trying to solve this on my own I just want someone who can help to give me the simple steps to solve this problem so I can get iTunes up and running.

Thanks,
Jenna

What are the maximum frequencies that are available in core i7 processors now?

I ask this because I'm looking for a new desktop PC these days. I currently have an ancient core two duo Pentium D processor runninf at 3.4 GHz, surprisingly all the PCs I have found so far are either very close to this frequency or slower.

After installing Win2k pro I had to change my 41.09 Win98, Nvidia drivers to Win2k drivers and found that there is no option to change my video cards clock and memory freqencies.

With the Win98 41.09 Drivers there was an option in advanced settings to change the frequencies. I am really annoyed because I found that the Nvidia detonator overclocking was more accurate than Riva Tuner.

You need to install the coolbits reg file to add the registry key to enable the clock frequency adjustment

you can get it here http://www.guru3d.com/files/ in the overclocking and tweak directory

I have this 13yr old monitor that's working perfectly fine, but I need to know it's vertical and horizontal frequencies.

Unfortunately I do not have any documentation for this monitor, nor is anything mentioned anywhere on it.

I've been using it on WinXP with a resolution of 1024.768 at (I think) 60.

Any help, pls.

If you were running a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels and 60 Hz refresh rate, I believe that it is referred to as an XGA video format. The vertical frequency is 60 Hz and the horizontal frequency is about 48.36 KHz

Good day Win7 Community,

This is my first post on here, as many users, I come here because I am having an issue.

I bought my new computer at friday.
I began installing my desired programs and games.
But as I progressed I found out something was going on with my sound.

I own a 5.1 surround sound speaker set so I'd like to use it, I believe I have stereo sound on it right now because I want my speakers to have sound all the time instead of having either music or voice-only.

On to the issue;

At first, I used my audio outputs of my motherboard, but that didn't really work well with my speaker set.
So I got my old 5.1 surround card (PCI) out and installed it into my new computer and plugged my speaker set, I could now use all 5 speakers.

I uninstalled the motherboard sound drivers and installed the sound card ones.
Fiddled with the settings the way I like it (sound volumes on each speaker)

I got it all working.. only, with youtube,WMP,VLC Mediaplyer, whatever produces sound.
When a high frequentie sound comes along, it gets scrambled which really ruins my fun of my new computer.

List of hardware/Software:

Motherboard: ASUS P8H67
Sound Card: Trust SC-5100 5.1 Surround Sound Card

Motherboard Sound Drivers: Realtek High Definition Audio Driver

Sound Card Driver: Trust 5.1 Soundcard 14319

Recap:
I uninstalled Realtek and installed the trust 5.1 sound card drivers.
I tried fiddling with WMP's settings etc. but no luck so far.

I hope someone can assist me in this struggle.

It has hardly been two weeks I've custom built my PC with newly manufactured parts and installed a cracked-activated version of Windows 7 Ultimate x64 on one partition and then ,Windows 8.1 x64 on another partition.
Ever since the first few days , I've been encountering BSOD frequently in every Instance of usage, although the occurrence of them depends on the system load. When the system is in an Idle State, BSOD occurs in 15-45 mins of being idle ; When in moderate use, such as downloading space intensive contents or watching movies it takes 75-90 mins before BSOD happens ; when in heavy use, such as graphics intense gaming or rendering processes, the system runs for about 3-5 Hours before the BSOD occurs. I use Windows 7 x64 as the primary OS and 8.1 is for guest users. I've tried Memtests, HDD tests, Processor Tests, BIOS tests and all turned out positive with flying colors and also tried disconnecting all parts and reconnecting them again, yet BSOD is a common occurrence. The details of the BSOD is as :

The audio came out, but it was like the bass had been manualy turned off. I preveously owned a macbook so if you could please elaborate and explain how to fix the problem or what is happening, that would be greatly appreciated.

I just bought Lenovo IP510IKB earlier this week, and I really like it, but I think something is wrong with the speakers, when I play music or any kind of audio there is some kind of distortion or vibration at certain frequencies, I don't know how to describe it, it's like there is something vibrating inside the laptop. I tried installing lenovo Harman drivers but the problem is still there, I also tried Windows generic drivers and other softwares like FxSound, but nothing helped, something that I also tried is muting the left speaker and the right speaker, at first I thought muting the left speaker fixed the problem but after a while I noticed the same distortion but not as much. I tried living with this annoying problem as it's not always there, but it really appear when listening to piano, but I can't live with it anymore it's driving me crazy and I can't find any related topics about this problem in the IP510IKB. I live in Egypt and I bought this laptop from souq.com (something like amazon.com) about a week ago, and I don't think I will be able to return it, is it even something that the warranty covers?

Can someone settle an arguement I'm having with my Nephew. He says that the default clock settings of my GeForce 3 card are too low. At the moment they are 175 Core Clock Frequency and 400 Memory Clock Frequency. We've looked at specifications for this card on the web and in the manual but both have not provided us with an answer. If someone could clear this up for us or provide me with a link that would tell me then I would really appreciate it.

Cheers.

A:ASUS V8200 T2 Deluxe Default Clock Frequencies?

That's the correct clock rate for the card. Around page 4 of theis review you can see in the graphs the base clock and some overclocking benchmark results.

http://www.tweakers.com.au/articles/graphics/asusgf3ti200/page1.asp

here is a page that shows the standard clockrate.

http://www.hardavenue.com/reviews/Ti200roundup2.shtml

175/400 seems to be the standard clockrate on most GF3 TI200s. Do a Google search for "TI200 review" and you'll see. I think your nephew owes you lunch or something.

I just unpacked my custom build and got it turned on.. went to try and get the internet working, and for the life of me.. i can't figure it out.
I don't even have a little wireless bar down in the right hand corner. when i try to connect to a network in network and sharing center, it wants me to plug in an ethernet cable. But i want wireless.. Also in the side panel of Network and sharing center, i don't even have the option for wireless.. i have Change adapter settings, and Change advanced sharing settings.

I try to set up a new connection or network and Connect to the internet, the only way it asks me to connect is by broadband(PPPoE). If i try set up a new network it asks me to choose the wireless router or access point i want to configure, might take up to 90 seconds for networks to appear.. but nothing pops up.
Anyone have any ideas?
