I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I have used my Office Outlook 2016 syncing with my Msn.com email for years, and as of 10/12/16, my outlook started to have issues. Nothing I did on the outlook synced up with the online emails nor anything that attacked that account (my iPad/iPhone) but whatever I did on those reflected.

For example, I deleted out my junk on Outlook, and it would not reflect that change, but I was still getting new emails into my Outlook.

I tried a couple of things, then removed my msn.com email, and restarted. When I tried to reconnect back to my email, (add email) it would always restart office outlook. Has done this every single day, though I can retrieve and do everything from my apple products or through the online Outlook (aka outlook live). But since I have tons of windows open, I don't need to try to keep track of my email when outlook did this. (the office products)

To make it more interesting, my Gmail accounts are still all linked and working through the office outlook. (it's sad when google is working better than their Microsoft's own email system!) I have restarted, repaired and done everything, even checked my privacy settings which are all set up correctly.

Has anyone else had these issues, and can help me?

Hello.

I use Outlook 2013 to manage my mails. I have different mailadresses from different hosters. Until now I used pop3 to retrieve my Mail, but now I want to synchronize my Mails between the Desktop-PC (Win 8.1) and the Tablet (Surface RT). Therefore I wanted to use my Outlook.com-adress, but actually this doesn't work as easy as I had expected. The Problem is, that I don't want to have severals In-Boxes, Out-Boxes etc for the different Mail-Accounts. With Pop3 I could receive all my mails in one single .pst-File. As far as I know this is not possible with the .ost-File, which is saved with the creation of a Exchange ActiveSync Account. And if I would accept two In-Boxes etc., so that I receive my Mails with the old Settings and move the Mails into the Outlook.com-Account, this also doenst work, because it isn't possible to move Mails from my .pst- to my .ost-File. The other way around it works.
Another possibility would be to forward the Mails to the outlook.com-Account, but then I wouldn't be able to send Mails from the different Accounts within Outlook.

So does anybody know a Solution for my Problem? I'll try to sum up what I want to do:
receive and send Mails from different hosters with Outlook 2013use my Outlook.com-Account to sync my mails, calender and contactsuse as little as possible In-Boxes, Out-Boxes etc.if necessary - moving Mails from one Account to the Outlook.com-account to synchronize

I hope someone can help me ...

I have been using Google Mail to take care of my business and personal email and recently began using Outlook 2016 in order to work offline efficiently. The IMAP features are doing a good job of managing my mailboxes and messages between my desktop and laptop computer but I need a way to synchronize the ever changing contacts list between those machines.
Does anyone out here use syncing software or tools? I've found plenty but they aren't easy to sift through. The main feature I need is to be able to sync by way of the cloud since I'm not in a network situation.
And not to shame any companies, but if the software developer begins with a 4, that doesn't even open up on Windows 10 and I can't get a hold of them except by e-mail, which recommends that I get a hold of them.
Now, I have seen utilities that will sync my Gmail contacts with Outlook but I can't tell from the text if that's an ongoing sync each time I open Outlook as is the case with IMAP mailboxes. If this method keeps my contacts up to date using Gmail as the central store point for both computers, then I'm good.

I can't believe I can't find the answer to this dilemma, which I've tried to solve for years. Hoping someone might have some insights. I have my own business, and keep a Contacts table in Access 2013. I also have a Contacts folder in Outlook 2013 that I want to keep in sync with my database. Sometimes changes are made in Outlook (or using GSyncit to sync with Google on my phone or tablet) and sometimes when entering service calls in Access. When I go to created a "linked table" from Outlook to Access, I get a separate table of contacts that will not sync with my existing table. Every week, I have to literally export Access data to an Excel CSV and import into Outlook, then go through name by name to choose the latest entry to keep. Ridiculous! I've googled and googled, and I have found no joy. Any ideas??

Hey all,

So my outlook has been working fine until lately. Here is the problem, if I receive an email while outlook is open it won't show up in my inbox. Even if I do a manual send/receive command it won't appear. In fact it doesn't say "Syncing inbox" at the bottom. I can get it to sync if I change folders, or if I open and close outlook. I have tried changing multiple settings in Send/Receive Groups and general settings and nothing seems to fix it. Any ideas?

With no way of knowing what you actually tried, in what order, and if all is back to where it was, all I can really suggest is that you remove the account info from Outlook, and create a new account. Working or not, at that point, please let us know.

Hi,

I've read in many forums about Outlook/Office365 using a tremendous amount of bandwidth. I have an office with 10 heavy outlook users, half being delegates of the bosses that have HUGE mailboxes (~15GB) and that refuse to archive emails.

They have a 30M internet connection that seemingly is not enough and constantly makes their Outlooks "hang" when searching for delegated contacts or just sending and replying to emails with big attachments etc.

I just want to confirm that this is seemingly is the case and that it's nothing else weird. Does it sound right to you guys? I told them to get the max bandwidth they can get there, which is 50MB but they are at the point where they are grumpy and don't believe my advice to upgrade their connection.

Thanks,

K

Is there a best solution?

I have read the Microsoft articles on this but still a bit confused. I?m asking this on behalf of my son who is trying to get it to work.

If I have Outlook 2016 installed on a Windows 10 desktop, and using Pop email, is there an easy way to sync Calendar with an Android phone? From what I have read, it requires a Microsoft exchange server to do this, which I am not using as I am on POP. Also, it appears that perhaps it is only the email which can be synced, or if calendar is synced, it may not be 2-way syncing.

I?m not worried about syncing the email, just the calendar. I have found how to save the calendar as an iCalendar file and this can be imported into various Web apps. However it is a one-off import.

I can set up a gmail account with calendar on my desktop and sync that to the gmail calendar on the phone.

So I could enter each appointment on both my Outlook calendar and Gmail calendar, but that is doubling up. I may as well enter it straight into the phone, although using Gmail does have the advantage of syncing back to the computer from the phone if I am out and about.

I want to keep the Outlook calendar because it works with appointments received from email.

I?ve never had to bother about having a mobile calendar so I?m not sure how all this works.

I think there are 3rd party programs that might do this but I?m a bit wary of those not knowing which may be OK or not.

Also, I did a test import from my Outlook 2016 into Outlook.com by saving the calenda... Read more

I want to create a custom form to always show the outlook attachment field.

We work with a lot of PDF files and would like to be able to drag and drop PDF pages from Adobe Reader Pro to the message body of the new e-mail. This is exctracting a PDF page directly into a newly composed e-mail.

The described function above only works when there is already one attachment added, when a PDF page is extracted into the new e-mail message body and it is the first attachment Outlook 2013 does not attach the file,

Because of this reason I want to create a custom form for composing new e-mail messages, on this form I would like to always have the attachment field visible, even when empty.

I have been in the form editor, but the field is called "Attached", this field is nowhere to be found. I can add a field "Attachment", but this is a YES/NO field with a tickbox.

Does anyone have experience in how to do the above?

Can you clarify which Outlook you mean for your domains email? Do you mean the Outlook.com webmail interface as a send-and-receive account / Windows Live Custom Domain account? Or directly to your domains mailbox from the Office Outlook desktop application?

In your second screenshot it looks like you are using your own domain username and password with the Outlook.com mailserver settings. The Outlook.com mailserver will obviously reject that unless you have previously set it up as a Windows Live Custom Domain before Microsoft discontinued that service.

If you are using a Windows Live Custom Domain, according to this article it should still be compatible with Outlook.com Preview.

Q. I have a custom domain configured with Outlook.com. Will I be able to keep it?
A. Yes, if you have a custom domain configured on Outlook.com today, it will continue to work after this update.

I will start at the beginning, it has been a frustrating couple of days since I had to reformat my hard drive.

I reformatted and reinstalled Windows XP Pro sp1. I put the Microsoft firewall up to get the MS updates, and then I reinstalled Norton. I have a bug in my system that seems to be contained, for now that is.

I reinstalled office XP, and then i downloaded the update (SP3). I am not getting an alert that says that something is trying to get access to my Outlook contacts. I assume that it is my Hotmail account (yes, I do have the ability to download). I get the alert, click "OK" four or five times, and then Outlook locks up.

When I reformatted, I lost the software Sprint gave me to sync my Samsung i500 with Outlook. When I contacted them, they said tough, I had to buy more software. Frustrated, I broke down and bought Chapura. Now, I am probably so frustrated that I cannot get it started to sync even once.

Microsoft is now ignoring my requests for help to gain access to MSN mobile through my handheld. Does anyone have any infomration on how to get to msn mobile even though mobile.msn.com does not take me to a personalized homepage to get my information?

I am an intermediate user, so I know my way around a bit. I have a hijack this log available, as well as a Belarc run. Let me know if you need anything to help me with this problem. I am just frustrated.

Thanks.

when exporting as a csv file you have to map custom fields first and take the email 1 address and move it into the other side for the addresses to get in there (from left to right) or the email addresses will not go correctly into the computer you want to do it to. If you back it up with *.pst then everything goes in much easiwer

Yesterday, my Outlook (2010) stopped retrieving e-mail from the Comcast server.  When I tried to fix it today, it still wouldn't work.  All the settings were correct, but it wouldn't retrieve my e-mail.  I deleted the account and recreated it.  Now, Outlook points to a new .pst file instead of my old Outlook.pst file, named [email protected]  To make matters worse, it doesn't delete the mail off the server.  Before, when I would open Outlook, it would download new message to my Inbox and delete them off the server.  The new messages would stay permanently in my Outlook inbox.  No more.  Now if I manually delete one through my Internet browser, it also deletes it out of my Outlook Inbox.  It’s as though the new account is just a window to the Comcast e-mail server.  I tried changing the Root Folder Path on the Advanced tab of the e-mail account settings to point to the location of my Outlook.pst folder, but that made no difference.  I also tried deleting a recent Microsoft update (KB3054976), but this did not help, either. This is a complete disaster for me, as I can't even send e-mail now, except through the server.  Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Dear Spice & I have Outlook.com accounts (both updated), with calendars shared with each other on Outlook.com (co-owner access level).

We can update each other's calendar directly on Outlook.com and in W10 Calendar. However, despite being configured as Exchange ActiveSync accounts, Outlook 2016 (and Outlook for Android) will only allow view-only access!

O16 is saying that "You do not have authorization to make changes to this folder."

This seems to require direct access to an Exchange server to change the folder configuration, for an EAS connection.

If Outlook.com is an Outlook 365 service running EAS, how can we tell Outlook 2016 to permit the full sharing access as authorized on Outlook Calendar.com?

This is probably affecting a lot of personal users who can't afford the infrastructure to run their own Exchange servers, just to share calendars.

(We are some of the refugees from Windows Live Mail, orphaned by the Outlook 365 conversion. That's why we're trying both O16 and Outlook for Android -- our eventual goal is to enable updating each other's calendars from our Android phones.)

As a translator I need to recreate old e-mails and attachments to avoid to have to translate an entire novel once again. (After a few years, the publisher now wants to publish a new edition).

But the only place this file is located, is as an attachment in my old outbox in Outlook Express 6.

Unfortunately OE6 is history long ago on my computers, and no longer available.

But I have managed to get out the .bak files from the old hard drive. Now I need to get out the contents.
The files are inbox.bak, sendt.bak and deleted.bak

Now I use Outlook 2013.

I have seen for me to first convert .bak file to .dbx, then convert .dbx to .pst, and finally to import .pst into Outlook 2013.

But whether this is possible or the best way, and how I do this easiest, I have no idea.

All the solutions I've found on the web until now requires that I have OE6. Which I have not.

Is there anyone who can help?
Is there a procedure or an utility to help me out?

I have a Dell Inspiron 660 running Window 8.1 Pro.

I had been using Outlook 2013 for about a month with no problems, when I got a message saying my OUTLOOK.PST file was approaching maximum size of 2Gb. However, I could not open it to compact it or delete items to bring the size down. I just kept getting the "approaching maximum size" error.

Outlook was NOT asking for a password for my mail server, It's specifically asking for a PW to open OUTLOOK.PST.

So, I opened the OUTLOOK.PST file in Outlook 2007 successfully, did some housekeeping, and reduced the size to about 700Mb. However, when I tried to open the PST in Outlook 2013 again, I was prompted for a password to open the PST. I tried my MS Account PW, and several other PWs, but none worked. I never set a PW for the OUTLOOK.PST in the first place. I was never prompted for a PW before the "max size" error came up.

I am able to open the file in Outlook 2007 without being prompted for a PW but every time I try to open it in OL2013, I get the PW prompt.

I have also run the SCANPST.EXE utility on the OUTLOOK.PST file, but that has not changed the PW prompt.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I am so confused about where outlook 2013 keeps things.

I have installed Outlook 2013 and would like to import my contacts from my outlook 2007 in another computer. I have already prepared the contacts.pst file from outlook 2007 and made it available in my public folders. I then imported the .pst file into Outlook 2013 via network. However the contacts shows up as a separate contact list rather than integrated into the outlook 2013 address book . How to correct it?

I must have got the process wrong.

Thanks

A:outlook 2013 import contacts from outlook 2007

OK. I found the imported contacts in a separate list inside the address book. There are 2 lists one is "In This computer" the other is just "contacts" . How do I make the "contacts "list as the default so I get an address book when I click on 'To" ?

I'm migrating all the mail from Outlook Express 6 to Outlook XP on someone's machine (there's about 20 folders or mail as well as the Inbox) and all folders above the Inbox import OK into Outlook, then the Inbox crashes at 98%.

Can anyone please recommend a program for repairing the Outlook Express databases and a 3rd party program that allows me to CHOOSE which folders to migrate to Outlook?

Thanks
Carl

Have installed Outlook 2013 and created a first email account as pop3 (manual setup).

Going to import from a saved .pst from Outlook 2000 - a file that contained (3) organized sections of contacts, info as well as emails, address book listings, etc - 2013 asked whether to "import items to the current folder" (a Personal Folder) OR the other radio button choice being to import to the email address which just was set up (where I guess new pst files are stored)

Attempted to import the backup pst to the "current folder" - but after it loaded, it could not be viewed anywhere or found within the folder structure of Windows7. Could not determine if it simply overwrote itself or why anyone would want to do this if it's the case.

So next, I went for the other choice and imported to the email address location and most everything now seems to show beneath it on the leftside pane. - Except for all my prior contacts, which only seem to show under "Addresses" that when opened, seem to reference through an open search box "Contact - ....".

Q: in the future can the location of these pst files be changed and how/where?
(like if myemail is done away with) Please note that I have about 11 more email accounts to load.

Q: how to bring up/organize my contacts back in order?

Q: is there no way to import my pst to another location that is more generic like "Personal Folders" if there is such as thing in Outlook 2013?

Backup seems not so ... Read more

In various places it says to close down Outlook 2013 prior to restoring from a .pst. To simply copy and paste the .pst file into the proper location which is often listed as an email address.

Why is this, and does restoring in this way really apply when restoring Outlook 2013 from earlier versions of Outlook?

I recently imported a .pst file from Outlook 2000 into 2013 (all emails/contacts) and to my amazement, the source 398 MB .pst ballooned to over 1 GB.

Does importing the .pst ( as opposed to copying and pasting while Outlook 2013 is closed) cause such great multiplications in file size of the .pst?

A:Outlook 2013 - restoring from .pst & closing Outlook

It is always good to use the Import option if you want to Import the .pst files from a very older version of Outlook. Outlook 2003 and later versions use a different file format compared to earlier versions of Outlook. That could be the reason why the file size has increased.

I am still using Outlook Express on a Win XP laptop but I have now bought a new Win 8.1 laptop and installed Outlook 2013 (which is working OK)

I am looking for the most fool proof way of moving literally tens of thousands of emails onto the new machine. This needs to be done with total 100% accuracy because these emails are fundamental to my business and go back to the last century! Some may be needed as evidence in court so accuracy is extremely important

Obviously I will keep the old machine just in case ...

In total there is at least 10Gb of data to transfer and about 2,000 email addresses

According to all sources that I could find on-line, it appears that rules are part of pst file.

However, this does not happening in my case.

I use outlook 2016 (part of MS office 2016) and have several accounts linked with this ? From my ISP (POP), Hotmail, yahoo, Gmail. I have rules only for account from my ISP.

Recently I deleted my Hotmail account, removed it from my outlook, deleted associated ost file. Then I had second thought and re-activated this hotmal account the following day. Added this to my outlook. To my surprise all rules vanished. Not a single rule remained. I did NOT have any rules setup for Hotmail account. Even column details for message folders (part of setting) got changed.

I decided to check further. Copied my pst files to another computer which had same version of outlook installed and has exactly the same setup.

Now I added some rules on my 1st computer. Checked the 2nd computer. The same rule appeared there. That means pst file does not contain rules.

So, Where are they?

Hope someone can help me. I am lost!!
Thanks

Hi there
Unless you have an ACTIVE Internet connection (or other Network Mail Server connection such as Exchange) you will NOT be able to set up OUTLOOK 2013.

Outlook 2013 requires (and there is no option unlike in Outlook 2010 to disable it by unchecking a box) a TEST email to be sent and working before your account(s) can be configured-- Once it's done you don't have to be online but if you need to set up several accounts and you don't have a working internet connection -- Tough luck.

Why on earth did Ms do this --it's not necessary and it is a Hassle for some people who are on the road, have purchased Office 2013 and want to set it up instead of having to wait until they get home.

Also a hassle if they want to prepare company laptop computers with email parameters in advance of the new Exchange email servers being rolled out to the users.

Even if your work policy has mechanisms where the USER can configure the email connections themselves they won't be able to set it up until the Servers are actually in place so you can't set the accounts up in advance.

The box I've shown here is from Outlook 2010. In Outlook 2013 the option is filled in and greyed out so you can't change it.

BTW I prefer and use Office 2010 myself but was trying to help a colleague to set up Office 2013.

Cheers
jimbo

Of course you can uncheck the Test email box. It has been so in all Outlook versions, is still so in Outlook 2013.

The option is grayed out exactly as long as the NEXT button is grayed out i.e. as long as they could not be used due missing credentials, until the setup has all relevant information for an email account to work (email address, incoming and outgoing servers, username and password). When you have filled the needed credentials, both the Test box and NEXT button become visible and can be clicked / selected.

Although I could well understand that setting up an email account, which in any case needs a working connection, would require an existing connection, this is not the case with Outlook 2013. You can set your email accounts up while sitting in a pub in Brussels watching Premier League Football without Internet connection if you want to .

HI Guys, tried uninstalling office 2010 to open Outlook 2013 when I got the two following errors:

1: The resource that you are trying to use is located on an unsupported version of Microsoft exchange. Contact your email administrator for assistance.

2: Cannot start Microsoft Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook window. The set of folders cannot be opened. Your Microsoft exchange administrator has blocked the version of Outlook that you are using. Contact your administrator for assistance.
Does anyone know what these two errors are referring to and how I can fix it so I can start using Outlook 2013?

Many thanks.

A:Outlook 2010 and 2013 conflicting. Can't open 2013.

Are you trying to connect to an Exchange mail server, e.g. one managed by your employer?
