Adobe Photoshop Elements And Adobe Reader

Q: Adobe Photoshop Elements And Adobe Reader

I use both Adobe Reader 8 and Adobe Photoshop Elements 5.0. Whenever I open a pdf document, it always defaults to the Adobe Photoshop Elements. Is there a way to change the default so it opens with Adobe Reader? Thanks.

Preferred Solution: Adobe Photoshop Elements And Adobe Reader

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A: Adobe Photoshop Elements And Adobe Reader

Navigate to where you store your pdf files.
Right click on one of these files and a dialogue will open inviting you to nominate which prog you wish to open that file.
In that dialogue, scroll down to "choose a program", when that opens,?scroll?to?Adobe?Reader,?click?on?that?and?then?click?on?"always?use?this?program?to?open?this?type?pf?file"

I installed Photoshop 3.0 but have run into a critical error when trying to work in it. For example, I've created a slideshow but when I attempt to burn it to a cd, I get the following error.

Adobe Photoshop Elements 3.0 has encountered a problem and needs to close.
Error Code c06d007e
Address: 7c81eb33

When I access the technical information about the error, it states the following.

AppName: photoshopelementorganizer.exe
ModName: kernel32.dll
Mod Ver. 5.1.2600.2180
Offset: 0001eb33

Currently I cannot use this software at all due to the fact that I can't burn photo images to an outside source. I would greatly appreciate any and all help to resolve this problem. I'm completely lost. Thanks so much.

I don't know whether this is in the right forum, but do move it if it is:

I use PhotoShop Elements 10, I upgraded to 11, on a Windows 7 64-bit system. When I try to change colour handling and colour management, for some reason I cannot change the either settings, they return to the previous settings!

I have tried uninstalling all the Photoshops and print software and reinstalling in various combinations. It seems to be okay for a while and then for no logical reason the problem re-occurs!

I have an HP as a day-to-day printer and an Epson R3000 for photographic work.

It is strange but I now have a similar issue with the HP on my other PC (also Win 7 64-bit and exactly the same software)

I have had an online chat with Adobe and they have reset the colour preference file, which apparently were corrupt, and it worked for a while, then reverted back again.

My friend has exactly the same software, same OS, even the same Epson printer, and his works perfectly!

Any clues please?

A:Adobe Photoshop Elements 11

look up information on google about the old program:
adobe gamma loader.exe
I had problems years ago making my monitor colors match my printer and someone suggested running this program at startup. Its been so long ago I can't remember the exact reasoning, but it has run on my XP and earlier windows with no problems. It may resolve your problem of the computer always goinng back to the wrong default colors.

I just started using Adobe Photoshop Elements (PSE) 8. Unfortunately, the Welcome screen continues to "gather user information," i.e., it is "spinning" or something like an "endless loop" problem. In other words, the software does not seem to find my user information. I uninstalled and reinstalled PSE 8 with no success. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I started logging suspicious processes on my computer. When Adobe Photoshop Elements is loading, just before it starts up, it copies the contents of the Windows XP clipboard. Would there be a legitimate reason for the software to do this?

Is there a utility that periodically wipes the clipboard clean, or do I need to overwrite anything that is not Adobe's business?

Just seems odd and unnecessary to me.

Thank you,

What windows version do you have ?
what have you created in PSE,

it sounds like you want a slideshow onto the DVD -
how have you created the slideshow - what software

if you just copy all the photos onto a DVD and play on a TV they will run as a slideshow
if you put into another computer - then you can usually view as a slideshow using windows organiser etc - depending on windows version

Do you want to control a slideshow and add music etc,

Can anyone help me? I ordered Photoshop Elements 7 via download from Adobe. I paid nearly GB?80 for this software. Unfortunately, the software does not run, refusing to download images into the Edit interface. The technical support from Adobe is incomprehensible, so I asked for my money back. I sent a Leter of Destruction via e-mail and fax. They say they haven't received this letter and have to send the letter from their customer web portal. When I click browse , the file's location appears in the small box but the file does not appear to download into the portal. I therefore have not sent the letter via this method because I fear I may be sending sensitive data unwittingly. Can anyone advise me? Asking Adobe is a waste of time. They seem to be doing everything they can not to give me my money back. Many thanks. Juande

Maybe a file within this program is corrupted and therefore you need to reinstall the software.

I have Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.0 on Windows Xp. In an attempt to find out how the programme operates I clicked on HELP - and the various sub headings - such as Photoshop Tutorials- and Support and Registration. Clicking on these headings either had no effect - or threw up a screen which read:

No default web browser is selected for your machine. Please launch your web browser application or reinstall and try again.

I would very much like to follow the instruction - but I haven't a notion what it means. Is there a kind soul out there to help me out?

A:Solved: Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.0

Elements 2.0 is quite old (current is V7); however, it still should run.

Was Elements pre-installed on this PC? Do you have the CD? The help files are probably on the CD.

In any case, you do not apparently have a default browser. What do you use for a browser? IE? Firefox? Opera? Whichever it is, start it up and find in the tools or preferences menus where to set it as the default browser.

I installed my new Wacom Bamboo One tablet on my desktop, which has Windows XP Home. No problem, worked fine with Adobe Photoshop Elements 2. Then I installed it on my Vista laptop with Service Pack 1 and Adobe Photoshop Elements 5. Now, when I started the tutorial on my XP desktop and reached the part where one tries out the pen and has to make strokes with it, it worked fine, but when I tried out the same part on my laptop, nothing displayed (no strokes were displayed), and in Photoshop Elements 5, I all the time have to keep the top button of the pen pressed in order to draw. The lower button, which I've set on "Erase", does not erase at all. And if I do not use any buttons in Photoshop, then only the brush menu showing various brush types pops up (happens when I press the lower pen button, too). I've tried changing the button properties...have tried many things...nothing works. On my desktop, with Photoshop 2, I don't have to keep the upper button pressed all the time in order to draw, and the eraser works. If I went to draw, I just have to hold the pen and shift it, that's it. But in Elements 5, I all the time have to keep the top button pressed in order to draw...and as I mentioned before, the eraser doesn't work. Outside of Photoshop Elements, the pen works fine in Vista and does what it is supposed to do (like a mouse). I tried checking for updates for Photoshop 5, but none are available. Does anyone know what's wrong?

I bought Adobe Photoshop Elements 4 a few days ago and have installed it twice already. Each time, I register it and enter the registration code.

Within only a few minutes of installation, an error message pops up and says that my name, organization, or serial number is missing or invalid and the program must close. Then it exits without my being able to use it.

I bought this because I heard it was better and faster opening. Wrong info there. This program seems to freeze up and after a lengthy wait (much longer than versions 1 or 2) it finally appears. Then another wait before you can use it.

Anyone else having this problem with the program?

I have not attempted to reach Adobe support because past experience has shown that it is a waste of time. T

They like to sell a program at an inflated price then disappear from view until the next "upgrade" comes out. They always refer you to their next to unusable "forums" for help. Those seem to be the blind leading the blind so I don't bother anymore.

This is the first time that one of their programs has given me technical problems though.

I'm new here, I hope this is the correct forum to post my issue....Last weekend I had to wipe my hard drive clean and reinstall Windows and other programs. It was a breeze and I've updated everything already, including Adobe Reader. I think the latest version is 9.0. I am running Windows XP SP3 and all was well until I tried opening a PDF file from a website today. When I clicked on the icon on the web page to open their PDF file, it opened up in Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.0 instead of in Adobe Reader 9.0. I looked through the Properties and Advanced tabs in both programs to see if something was checked stating to open PDF files in Elements, but I found nothing that mentioned this anywhere. I also checked through all the Internet Explorer settings (version 7.0) and found nothing about PDF's there either.

And when the PDF files open in Elements, it appears as a tiny picture that I cannot even read, though I did not try to print it out yet. This has never happened before and I just cannot figure out why it's happening and how to fix it. Does anyone have any ideas?

Version 2002; SP2
A week ago I installed Adobe Photoshop Elements 4.0. I like it and I want to keep it, but today I saw that I had lost from My Computer -

CD Drive (D:]
CD-RW Drive (E:)
DVD Drive (F:)

I wondered if the Adobe Photoshop 4.0 had something to with it so I did a System Restore - back to the day before I installed the programme. The System Restore was successful. It had removed the Adobe Photoshop and the three drives, D, E, and F, were back in My Computer.

To satisfy my curiosity, I reinstalled Adobe Photoshop and, hey presto, the drives D, E, and F, had gone again.

I need those drives so I removed Adobe PS with 'add/remove programmes'. But the three drives were still missing so I did another System Restore. That put the three missing drives back into My Computer.

I am in a quandary. I want to keep Adobe Photoshop Elements 4.0 but it seems that it does not like my drives D, E, and F.

Your advice will be appreciated.

Best wishes. whatapalaver.

A:Adobe Photoshop Elements 4.0 Versus D, E, And F Drives

did you get your copy from adobe website or from elsewhere, friend, p2p, whatever. if from anywhere but adobe the version you have may be corrupt in some way. try downloading the 'free tryout' version from adobe and see if that will run ok and also show your 'drives'.

if that version also 'removes' your drives, i would check the adobe photogroup newsgroups for similar occurances, and if so, there will probably be info of a workaround available to you there.

also, make sure you have all xp updates, and all other programmes are stopped when installing again, including your antivirus (scan installation file first, then disconnect from net before turning off av and firewall).

good luck

I seem to be having major computer problems today. On top of the other problems in another thread I'm having I now can not print anything out of elements. An hour ago I could without a problem. Now i get an error message that reads there was a problem writing the print file. I didn't change anything in the file, opened it up and printed just like earlier. Tried restarting the system and still a no go. Any ideas?

A:Adobe Photoshop Elements Print Problems

First confirm that the problem is isolated to Elements. Try printing a document and/or a photo using another photo program if you have one. Can you print anything?

Might be your print drivers and perhaps an uninstall/reinstall of the printer drivers may be in order.

If you can print on other programs and the problem is isolated to Elements see if the Print dialog box opens when you select the picture/pictures that you want to print. That should tell you which printers Elements sees on your computer and we can go from there.

One more thing: Are you trying to print a JPEG file or another format?

This program is driving me crazy. Every time it starts, a message soon pops up saying that it cannot find my serial number, registration, name, company, etc. and the program closes automatically.

This is not much of a hint about what is really wrong because I did buy the product retail, have installed and uninstalled many times trying to get this to go away so the program will run properly but nothing helps.

My older Elements 2.0 will install and run fine but it seems wrong to pay for a more recent program that will not run and have to return to the older more reliable program.

Of course, the Adobe company is far too big and to important to make it possible for paying customers to contact them for help in resolving problems with their "perfect" software.

In that way, they are worse than Microsoft and Symantec. I will not pay for support for a buggy and defective program even if that option was offered.

Anyone else experienced this problem?

Everytime I try to import a picture from the scanner I get the following error:

Reason: "The file already exists in the catalog"

The error dialogue box indicates the file in the temporary folder even though I had selected a path to another drive/folder.

First things first... Tried to run tsg sysinfo as instructed and got this error message:
sysinfo.exe is not a valid win32 application

I have recently started having problems re-opening jpg files saved using Photoshop Elements 2.0 (PSE2). I have been using PSE2 to process jpegs created by my scanner (Microtek Scanmaker 6800). Original scan opens without issue, but if I save the image as a jpeg, I cannot reopen the file most of the time. I get the following error message:
"could not open <file name> because an unknown or invalid JPEG marker type is found" If I save the original scan as a bitmap instead of jpeg, I can open the file without issue; I can then convert the image to jpg and it is fine. I know this is an old version of PS Elements and there might not be any "patches or fixes for this problem, but I thought I'd put it out there and perhaps someone has run into this and solved it. I haven't found a "solution" that works for me.

Thanks. njmeatball 20110822

OK, I am not sure if this is the correct forum, but a search of this forum, the Business Applications forum and the Multimedia forum yielded no results.

I am working on a Dell Inspiron N5010 64 bit Windows 7 Home Premium SP 1 with Intel i5 2.67 GHz processor, 6 GB RAM.

Both Adobe Premiere Elements 9 and Photoshop Elements 9 are installed and were working (for years) up until recently. Both suddenly developed a problem with the Organizer.

If I double click on the desktop icon to open Premiere, and then click on the Organize button, I see this message:

"Elements 9 Organizer has stopped working."

If I then click on "View problem details" I see this information:

I then click on the "Close the program" button.

However, If I double click on the desktop icon to open Premiere, and then click on the "Open Project" button and then click on a project, the project ope... Read more

Is is possible to re-configure folders of digital pics within Elements 3.0?

Of course, I can move folders with Windows Explorer but how would Elements 3.0 re-associate the actual file structure and the "memorized" file structure

Thanks in advance!

I recently downloaded Adobe Photoshop Elements 3.0, 30-day trial version. However, when I click on Setup.exe, the cursor turns to an hourglass, and that's as far as I can go! When I try to close the program I get a message telling me the program is not responding, so I click End Program to go back to my desktop.

I've tried Setup.exe several times without any luck. Shutting down and restarting didn't do any good, either. Perhaps I should try uninstalling and reinstalling the program one more time. I would appreciate hearing from anyone with any suggestions as to what I should try next.
