I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello, My Lenovo Yoga 720 13's touchscreen seems to not work with finger input. However, the touchscreen still responds when connected to the compatible Bamboo Smart Pen I have for this laptop. When accessing device manager, the Device status for HID-compliant touch screen, HID-compliant pen, and Wacom Pen seem to be working correctly. I was wondering whether there is any solution to this problem. Attached below are relevant images

Recently the touchscreen on my Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro stopped working. It is running Windows 10 and the most recent update it received was KB890830. I am getting an error code 10 for the I2C HID device ("A request for the HID descriptor failed"), but when I try to update it, I get a message saying it is already up to date. Disabling and re-enabling hasn't worked and I cannot find the driver on the lenovo website to do a fresh install. Any suggestions to solve this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Hi All, So I've had this aesthetically pleasing yoga 3 pro for about a month with the purpose for it to be used as a Uni Laptop.  However I've come across a few issues that I am hoping I can get some help with. Firstly, I've lost all ability to use the touchscreen. Windows Device Managers is seeing it, but I have no way to enable/disable or test. Is there something I am missing? Secodly, through basic use I am finding the CPU and RAM usage well in excess of 80% for a lot of the time, with the system coming to a near grinding halt if I have approximately a dozen chrome tabs open, a couple of office docs and youtube or spotify running....this is a little worrying. Specification wise the laptop should be able to run the with very little hassle. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

My Lenovo was purchased back in 2015, so the warrenty is expired. Still, up until recently the touchscreen had been working fine. Now, no matter what mode it is in, it doesn't detect my touch. I have gone through every Google-searched solution I could find, none have worked.I have gone to device manager, checked the drivers for updates (they are up to date) but the window doesnt allow me to Disable/Enable the driver. I've used the lenovo website, the companion app and my windows control panel to check for updates but no changes to the touch screen. Running Windows 10 (64x) Solutions, or links to other form posts are appreciated.

We recently purchased a batch of Yoga 260's.  We wiped them and installed Windows 10 Pro from scratch.  The touchscreen no longer functions.  There is an unknown device in Device Manager and the HID touchscreen driver is missing.  So I assume I need the Touchscreen driver but Lenova is unable to tell me where it is.  This is our first experience with Lenovo support and it has been horrible thus far.  It shouldn't be that hard to find a driver.  Can anyone tell me where it is located?  It is not on the support site. Thanks

Hey there, I recenently got one of the Lenovo Notebooks of the Yogaseries, which exactly it is, is stated in the title. However, since yesterday I never had any problems with it, I really like it, the convertible function etc., but it seems, that my display registeres touches Im not applying, it touches like everywhere over my screen and I dont even have my hands on the computer. When I restart it or install the touchpad driver from the supportsection for my notebook, it is okay for like 10 mins and then it goes all over again. I found an interesting solution for a similar problem, its in this thread: https://support.lenovo.com/de/de/documents/SF15-I0024 I have literally the same issue, problem is, the fix which is downloadable there, seems to only work for panels from LG, I figured out the hardware ID from my IPS panel, but I cant figure out where its factured or where I can get a fix for this issue. The ID is: MONITOR\  "CMN14B1" At the moments its okay but I always have this weird box right in the middle of my screen: https://abload.de/img/unbenanntdvscn.jpg Its always like that before it goes crazy like 5 minutes later, I think I have to restart soon again, its really annoying and I really cant do something like that. regards

Hi all, I've seen a few other posts on this subject, but haven't noticed anything too recent.  I've run into an issue with my brand new Yoga 720 where my touch screen fails to work.  Upon opening device manager, I see that my Wacom Device has a little alert next to it.  The error reported by the device is: "This device cannot start. (Code 10)  A request for the HID descriptor failed." I have tried to reinstall the driver multiple times.  I've grabbed both the Lenovo and the Wacom versions of the driver with no success. I just got the machine today.  The touch screen did not work during the initial installation process, so I don't think the updates are what killed it (as reported elsewhere).  It's also not promising that things magically started to work again after some amount of time. I suppose I don't mind taking the laptop back, but it's otherwise such a nice little laptop (widespread issues with cheap display parts notwithstanding) that I'd really like to be able to hang on to it. Any assistance and / or updates on this problem would be appreciated!

A few months ago I started experiencing problem with constant error of I2C HID driver on my Yoga 510-15ISK. Hey everyone, I picked up my Yoga today, and I love it. However, about an hour ago the touchscreen went completely unresponsive. The last thing I remeber doing, before noticing the touchscreen becoming unresponsive, was installing the Android SDK. (Well, I ran the installer, but it didn't recognize JDK). So, here I am, with the touchscreen not functional at all. Has anyone else had a similar problem? Does anyone have any suggestions? I tried the "refresh" and that didn't work. I'm probably going to try the wipe/clean install option in a bit. I guess that would tell me for certain if it's a hardware problem or not. I'm really hoping this isn't a design flaw with the 360 hinge causing issues. I really like the laptop, and would rather not have to deal with hardware issues like this down the road. :/ I'll be calling support in the morning, but was hoping to get this resolved tonight if anyone has had a similar problem.  Thanks!

Hi,

perhaps that program just don´t work with WIN8?

Try a Windows system restore and restore it to a point before you tried installing Android SDK.

Hi thereFew months ago I bought a Yoga 520, and I never had any problems with it. Mostly used it for work, and drawing with my wacom tablet. Tried the touch screen a few times, everything was fine. However, today I wanted to try drawing with my finger on the screen, and I realised the touch function of the touchscreen is not working. I always allow WIN10 to update itself, but since I'm not using the touch function regularly I couldn't say when it stopped working. What I've tried so far:Updated drivers, all of them. Checked Lenovo Vantage for new drivers, everything is the latest. Tried uninstalling the driver of the Wacom device from device manager. (btw in device manager, the wacom device has a yellow ! and on the Properties windows it says 'A request for the HID descriptor failed'.Again, installed every driver from Lenovo Support page I could. Tried basically everything suggested in the similar topics in this forum, and on Microsoft's page. Please tell me, you have something figured out other than 'reinstall your PC', because I don't think a notebook in this price range should be reinstalled after 3 months. Is it because a windows update? So should I wait for another update to fix this, or should I just bring it back to where I bought it?Thanks in advance, have a nice day.

I recently bought a Yoga 520 from a local Lenovo's partner store. Everything worked fine, until I recently intalled the latest Windows update and restarted the device. I also enclosed the list of Update I installed until today (09/29). I had contacted the store where I bought the laptop and also consulted the local service center, but both of them couldn't resolve the issue. Some efforts I had tried:1. Accessed Control Panel > Hardware & Sound > Device Manager > Human Interface Devices > HID Compliant Touch Screen. I had tried to: 1) disable and reenable it, and 2) uninstall it and restart the laptop, but none of them works (the touchscreen still does not detect touch input). 2. Downloaded and installed the latest Wacom Drive, including the Wacom Dual Touch driver. This also does not resolve the issue. 3. Downloaded and installed the latest NVIDIA and Intel HD's graphic card driver. Again, the touch screen is still not responding. 4. Accessed the Universal Serial Bus Controller > USB Root Hub (xCHI) > Properties > Power Management and disabled the "Allow the Computer to turn off this device to save power". It still doesn't work. Some other conditions:1. The Lenovo's Wacom-powered pen works perfectly. The screen detects the digital input, but it does not detect hand/finger touch input.2. Doing full reset of Windows brings the touchscreen capability back. However, after Windows automatically downloaded and installed the forementioned ... Read more

Main issue im having is the keyboard is acting very bizzare. First keypress does not register when I start typing or after pressing the spacebar. shift keys and backspace are intermittent. for example, on this sentence i had to press the "f" key twice as well as press every letter twice after each press of the spacebar. Reinstalled drivers, system restore, malware scans all to no avail. i'd guess it's a hardware issue.now the touchscreen:does not work 99% of the time but randomly appears to. When it's not working windows tells me no touch is available for this display. Seems like a poor connection to me as well as I can't seem to find touch screen drivers. anyone have experience with this?

Hey there, I just bought a brand new Yoga 720 13IKB yesterday. Now I just configured Windows 10 and realized that the Touchscreen doesnt work. Like, at all. Which is funny, because it worked once, at the first screen of the Windows initialization, where I pressed "Next" on the touchscreen. After the whole procedure, when I got to the desktop, however, it ceased to work. In the device manager it says 'this device cannot start" (Code 10)'  on the 'Wacom Device'. It also has the yellow exclamation mark on it. So I assume, that's what causes the problem. I just don't know how to fix it, though. I'm absolutely out of ideas at this point. The list of things I've tried includes:- Deinstalling Wacom Drivers entirely- Reinstalling Wacom drivers, first time from Wacom directly, second time from Lenovo page- Installing every othe driver, including chipset drivers- Installing all availably Windows Updates- Installing newest Lenovo Firmware- Installing new BIOS (which didn't work since the newest BIOS was already on there)- Giving up and doing a complete factory reset, including reinstalling Windows 10 None of these things did anything. Even now, after the factory reset it still has the same issue and the same yellow excalamtion mark. What the hell. It has to be some driver issue, since the touchscreen itself worked (once).  So what am I supposed to do?? I can't even return my machine and request a new one, since the st... I'm running windows 10, and suddenly my touchscreen stopped working. I checked in the device manager and the "HID compliant touch screen" was disconected. After trying to reinstall software, it was uninstalled and now the option does not even show up anymore. I reinstalled all lenovo drivers and im getting nothing. Windows has no idea its even there. Full disk format and a fresh copy of windows 10, and still nothing. This laptop has been through lenovo support again and again, the last time it went was kinda the last straw for me. :/ It's out of warranty now, but while it was in repair, other things on the computer were also damaged. Hence why it went back twice. But now suddenly the touch screen has stopped and I can't get a single response. Im hoping this is a driver malfunction somehow, but the touchscreen will not even show up in the device manager, not even under hidden devices. Any help?

A:Thinkpad Yoga - Touchscreen not working anymore

Hi,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

I?m sorry to hear that touchscreen of your ThinkPad Yoga stopped responding.

Open Device Manager in control panel. Look for the option Human Interface Device. Under Human Interface Device, look for HID-compliant device. Right click on this option and choose Disable and then re-enable the same.

If the above said didn?t help, it could possibly be a hardware issue. I?m sure the Lenovo technical support can be of great assistance.

Regards,
Mithun.

Dear all, yesterday the Windows 10 April update got installed. Before I could use the touchscreen and pen to scroll and click, e.g. open a PDF, use my fingers to scroll trought the pages (e.g. in Drawboard PDF), use the pen to write. Now, the fingers are sort of recognised: Just after logging in it seems to work, I can scroll through the explorer, change tabs in the browser, then after a bit this functionality disappears - partally. E.g. I can still minimize and maximise programs, but scrolling (mainly) doesn't work.It does e.g. in FoxitReader but not in Chrome. I can e.g. flick open the notification centre and when I try to click on something the feedback circle appears but the actual "click" doesn't "click" the button. Using the pen is a little bit better Note that right after a reboot I can e.g. open the notificatin centre of Windows and use touch to activate/deactivate the tablet mode (for example) - a few seconds later I can still side the notification centre open but clicking on e.g. "tablet mode" is no longer registered as a click while the touch feedback is shown on the display. It seems a bit as if some software is loaded in the first few seconds after logging in which intercepts the touch intput to some degree? I've  already tried to disable touch-and-hold as right-click (it looks a bit as if most programs would interpret touch as right-click straight away), I've also tried to update some drivers from the Lenovo homepage. Many thanks for ...
