Export all email addresses from Outlook \ Outlook inbox folder

Q: Export all email addresses from Outlook \ Outlook inbox folder

Hi, my name is Kyle, I am new to this Forum.

I have seen a similar post which seems to be the solution to the problem I face, however, I cannot post on the topic for some reason - I would assume because it is marked as solved.

I needed to post in the topic for clarity, as I do not quite understand how to use the solution. I also cannot send PM's or Personal Emails and was told to not post Tech Questions within the Visitor Message section on a User Profile, so I have not been able to contact the user that offered the solution directly.

Therefore I am creating a new post.

I'm in the middle of capturing data - data in the form of emails dating back to 2009. This data is required to create a email database of all our previous and current clients.

Currently I am manually going through every email contained within a folder in my inbox and entering each email address into an excel sheet. This is incredibly time-consuming, as one might imagine and of-course I would like the quick-fix solution.

In the solution offered in the aforementioned post http://forums.techguy.org/business-applications/864373-solved-save-all-email-addys.html, there was reference made to software called NK2, which, by the sounds of it, I can somehow use to extract these email addresses and then import them into an excel database - problem being that I do not know how to use this program.

I would love for someone to guide me through the process!

The other solution that was offered, was a macro, which I would also be happy to use if anyone was willing.

Thank you for your time &
Warm regards,

Kyle

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Is there a way to gather all email addresses (either from, to, or cc) in a particular email folder in Outlook and store them in a delimited file? Alternatively, is there a way to add all email addresses from all emails in a particular folder to Outlook Contacts or to the Outlook Address Book?

My problem is this: my phone number is changing and I'd like to send an email to everyone who has either sent me an email or to whom I've sent an email announcing the change.

Any other way to solve the problem?

I'm running XP Pro and Outlook 2003 (11.8217.8221) SP3.

Thanks.

I have addresses located in Microsoft Outlook 2000 (contacts section) that I wish to export to Microsoft Works 6.0 (address book).

Help me locate the Microsoft Outlook (contacts) so I can import to Microsoft Works address book if this is possible.

Is this address information compatable between the two programs?

For example: when I open the Works address book I view the Outlook Express-main identity emails and addresses located there.

When I click File\Import I have a choice of Address Book (WAB) and Other Address Book.

When I click Address Book (WAB) and I see a "select address book file to import from" box allowing my choices from the entire C:drive.

When I choose "Other Address Book" I have a Address Book Import Tool box to select from either: 1) Microsoft Internet Mail for Windows 3.1 Address Book; 2) Text File (comma Separated Values) and a couple others.

I am able to export Microsoft Outlook 2000 addresses to a Outlook .CSV file on my desktop. Can this be usefull? It opens into Excel with the addresses in a datasheet form. (Doesn't look favorable.)

My question: can I move the addresses from Microsoft Outlook 2000 into the Microsoft Works 6.0 address book?

Thanks,

davidrs

User came in with a receiving email issue and to make a long story short I found that his inbox and all subfolders including sent, junk ect. are subfolders of the trash folder.(deleted Items) I tried to back up, clean(glary utils) and reinstall but the backup reordered the folders the way they were. I will uninstall again and hand build the folders and subs if need be but I was hoping someone here might know a fix before I spend 2 or more hours creating and moving from imported folders (home based company with 33000+ emails)

Any ideas appreciated.

Also noteworthy is that Norton failed after the hearbleed patch and had to be completely removed and reinstalled. the reinstallation of Norton was AFTER trying to repair Outlook.

Hello.
I have a large email group - over 200 names - in Outlook Express Address Book. A number of outdated email addresses bounced back to me. I wish to remove them from my Group. But OE seems to list only names, not email addresses. I cannot find a way to search by email address. Therefore I am faced with the task of looking up each name's properties to see if it's the email I need to eliminate.
Surely there must be a better way!
Or should I just find a better program to use? If so, suggestions?
Thanks.

Hi,

I was using Adobe Photoshop Album Starter on my in-laws PC. On Photoshop, there is an email photo function. I set it up using the in-law's AOL account not realizing that it will kick off Outlook Express and retrieve all the emails in the AOL inbox (There is no option from Photoshop to leave copy of email on AOL server. I can only select that option if I go to Outlook Express Account dialog). Is there any way I can export these emails back to the in-law's AOL inbox? If I forward each email back to the in-law's AOL email @, the email will look like it comes from itself. Also, there are more than 100 emails. It is quite tiresome to forward one at a time. Forwarding a bunch at a time results in the email becoming text attachments. My in-law does not want to learn a new application, so, staying in Outlook Express is out of the question. HELP!

A:how to export Outlook Express email to AOL

You do not have any control over the AOL server to "replace files", you have downloaded them and they are deleted from the server.

Forwarding them back is the nearest thing I can think of, but educating on the use of OE would be better, then you have the emails and not AOL after they are dowloaded.

Hi,

Most of my emails in my Inbox in Outlook are displayed by their full names, such as "Joe Bloggs", however there is one email (who I'm emailing often), that constantly is shown by their actual email, and not their display name. I know it's minor, but it is very annoying. I've tried everything. I've gone onto his contact card and his email is supposedly displayed as "Name (email)", yet nothing happens. Furthermore, I've double clicked on the email in the reading pane and a little box popped up saying:

Display name: (email)
Email Address: (email)
Email type: SMTP

I changed the Display Name to their full name and clicked "OK". Yet it is still displayed by his email. I click on his email again in the reading pane, and the display name has reverted back to his email address!

Can anyone help me here?

Thanks,

We are on a exchange server here in our building.
And one person is having an issue with her outlook.
When typing in a address that she has never done before she would have to hit the Check address button. It would then find the right name in our contacts on the server.

She could do this one day or right now and add them.
Then cancel right out of the email and go right back in and start typing the last name and it fills.

But she says she has done this yesterday and today you can not type in the last name you would have to hit the check address button for it to go out and find.
I did add someone in on 5 days ago and they are still available.
But like i said the one she did yesterday is not.

Is there any registry fix or removal to get this working?
I have done a repair on the Outlook, but still the same.

A:Outlook email addresses

(I hope I'm understanding this problem correctly and not wasting your time)

It's possible that the person originally entered a space or something before the recipient's name. That has happened before at my job. Then when the end user enters the correct recipient name, it isn't found.
To fix this issue, you need to have delete the recipient's incorrect name when it is auto-populated in the To: field.

New to Outlook XP. When i enter a name in to the "To" line, SOMETIMES it fills in the persons fax info instead of their email address. This is no big problem, but is there a way to configure Outlook, when addressing a new message, to only suggest/fill in, the email address of the contact?

A:Outlook XP email addresses

I have to deal with this situation all the time.

Outlook will show you all of the email addresses and fax numbers, etc., for a given contact in a list (Contacts or a file or folder which is a sub-folder or file under Contacts.

My solution, at work, because I need to be able to send: email, individual faxes, and use an email service to send broadcast faxes (faxes of the same content, like a Request For Quotation, to many6 recipients), my solution has been to create separate folders under Contacts. Then, in any one contact, I have only the email address or fax number, or email address for broadcast fax. In fact, I include only the fields in the contact that I need. So, in email, there is just the name and the email address. In the set of folders for broadcast fax, the contacts contain only the name and the emailaddress that the fax service wants. In the fax foldr, I use complete addresses, phone numbers, fax number (only one), but no email addresses.

This is, admittedly, a lot of work, seemingly a lot of redundency. But, then, when I need to send something, I have no doubt about what number or address I am using.

Good luck.

How do I export my outlook express inbox emails to a folder outside of outlook express so I may burn them to disc or keep them on the hard drive separate from Outlook express so I may read them later?

I have a problem of every time I send an email with OE or check for new email, it downloads all my messages from my web mail account. I can't delete them from web mail by taking a copy off of the server until I can store them somewhere besides online or in the OE program.

You just allow OE to download the messages to your Inbox and delete them from your mail server. Then you can open OE whenever you want and read the messages.

I have done quite a few office 2000 business addition installations, but this one has me stumped. For some reason even after email addresses have been put in to the TO or CC fields and sent, when starting to retype those same names they are not auto populating. Any ideas?

A:Outlook 2000 email addresses

My first thought is the Outlook.nk2 file. If it doesn't exist, i don't know if it will recreate itself or not. I do know that this is the file where outlook saves the auto complete addresses, and the path to the file should be:

C:\Documents and Settings\user\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

But, before messing with that i would look through the outlook email options. In outlook 2003 go to tools, options .... on the preferences tab click "email options", in the email options window click "advanced email options", and then there is the option to "suggest names while completing To, CC and BCC fields" . So you'll want to find the similar option in outlook 2000. if this option is turned off, turning it on may force the creation of the outlook.nk2 file. if not you should be able to create it yourself or copy it from another system or user profile. hope that helps, as i don't have a system running outlook 2000 available to test it on.

My next strategy is to go into my old computer and edit folders or do a few partial backups so I get a small enough file(s) to attach to email.

Hi all,

A curiousity in that I am not sure if anything negative is happening to the system as a result of this but, as they say, if in doubt.

The Send/Receive message is appearing bottom right of Outlook 2003, it says it is receiving an email, or few, but then in the first case nothing appears in the Inbox, or in the second, one less email will appear in the Inbox if others are being downloaded as well.

I use Mailwasher and these phantom emails do not appear there either. The only indication being this email count not tallying with what appears in the Inbox.

Has anyone else seen this? Any problems as a result?

Cheers.

To myself and ending up in my inbox but still reaching the recipient.  I have a total of 4 emails set up in my outlook.    I have 3 work emails ( I work for 3 differnt companies) all web based and all IMAP.  I also have 1 personal email set up which is a POP Gmail.  The Personal POP does not do this.  This is cluttering my email and it is hard to keep up with work to begin with while working for 3 companies at the same time.  I called all 3 email tech supports and none had a clue why it is doing this.   Any ideas?

PST file corruption is the reason of this. Your PST may get corrupted due to various known and unknown reasons. Despite going in details about reasons behind corruption I would like to tell you the solution.
If you have a backup copy of PST file (created when the problem was not occurring), restore it. I will add that it will result in loss of important emails.
If backup copy is not available or you do not want  to lose your important emails, try to repair your PST file using a PST repair Software.
Many PST repair software are available from third party vendors, but only some are useful. SO while selecting a software make sure that it is from a certified vendor as well as software must provide a demo version to test the working of software in real world.

You can do some research on Google to get a good software. If you find that boring, reply here I will tell you about some good software.

Hope it will help.

Greetings,

I started to use the Outlook app on my iPhone and it has a feature where you can make an email reappear in your inbox at date/time you specify (swipe an email to the right, specify a time and the email is removed from your inbox until that time. It's great for returning to important items while sending out of office replies). I love this feature, but haven't found a way to replicate this functionality in Outlook 2010 on my laptop. Is there a way to do this aside from flagging something for follow-up with a reminder?

No there isn't. The desktop and mobile Outlook client are very different

I am in deep deep trouble. While my boss was out of town, I cleaned up his hard disk of temp files etc. I was signed on as Administrator at the time. He returned and signed on but all of his email folders saved in outlook are gone! I've tried a search but with no luck. Is there any way to find and restore them? He has not backed up his HD in a long time. PLEASE HELP. I don't want to get fired!

I opened up My outlook express and all my emails in my inbox were gone along with sub-folders (the i created below inbox). I did a search for .dbx files and found them but cannot open them. How can I save them to another file and/or what program can I use to open them. they are on a path of: docs and settings/connie/local settings/application data/identies/(#'s)/microsoft/outlook express. they all have DBX extensions.
Please advise
