I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello guys, can you tell me if it is normal this situation? When I connect the chager the display turn off for few seconds. It is the same situation when I disconnect the charger. Can you tell me if it is normal? I update the BIOS with the last version and I have the last version of the video card. Power plans are the same for both situations too.

Hello, My new laptop came with a faulty AC adapter (model ADLX65CDGE2A), and in order to get it replaced I'd have to send my laptop along the adapter, which I don't want to (if any are wondering, emag.ro is where I bought it from).Anyway, I've been looking to buy a replacement AC adapter but everything I got is 2.25A - the original says it's 3.25A, same voltage, 20V). More than that, almost (if not) all Lenovo AC adapters are 2.25A - talking about those in Romanian stores. Now, my question is: does anyone have this model with a 2.25A AC adapter? Eventually by default?I know it's a matter of charging time - I've got an iphone which I'm charging with the iPad AC adapter because it charges faster - but does it actually decrease battery life? That's all I'm worried about.Thank you in advance! Alex

Good Morning From one day to another, my Ideapad (500S-14ISK) was not charging anymore, so the battery is now almost empty.Running with Power Supply is possible, but the system toggle approx. every 2s between charging and non-charging mode.So every two seconds the message, battery low pops up and disappears again. Also the screen brightness dimms down and up every two seconds.I tried to update the BIOS, but this stopps right at the beginning... ERROR 220 - Failed at power status check! Actually no surprise. Power supply should be fine, since it works perfectly with another laptop. Any idea, what I can do?Warranty is gone... so any tipps like "open it" are also welcome! ;-) Cheers,Martin

So I'm currently in the process of trying to order myself a new AC Adapter for my Lenovo Ideapad, but my issue is finding the correct AC Adapter for my computer. I've spent three or four hours trying to find the correct one, yet the one Lenovo list on their website with the Ideapad 700 series (http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/itemdetails/888015027/460/B5F03F2D7A74472998C11037ACE71BFB?sb=:000001CC... has the incorrect part number. The part number on my AC Adapter is 5A10J46690, the one Lenovo lists to buy is 888015027, what I need to know (Which I can't figure out) is whether or not this is the same AC Adapter as the one I have currently, which does not work. Seeing as I can't find a single adapter matching the part number of my current one. To clarify slightly, my laptop is the Ideapad 700-15ISK Type 80RU00APUS. Apologies if I picked the wrong category for this, I'm new to the forums and majorly need the help.

IdeaPad i5, 650GB HD, 8GB RAM.Today, my computer suddenly died, no warning that I could see, I was watching a video and wasn't paying the best attention, but there were no noises. The screen just went black and the computer died. The orange light on the power adapter is solid when it's not plugged it, when it plugs it, the light goes out and then blinks twice, dark for a second, then blinks twice again and repeats. I tried taking the battery out and pressing the power button ten times with one second breaks, then holding the power button for thirty. I tried pressing the power button for twenty seconds, then putting the battery in, trying to restart, then trying it with the cord. I've tried leaving it to charge, I've tried taking everything out and leaving it to magically fix itself, but nothings working. I'm not sure on the warranty, bought it refurbished, and can only afford to pay for repairs if it's a last resort. If anyone can recommend anything to try, I'm all ears.

A:IdeaPad Z570 Died, Adapter Blinking

I suspect the blinking light is an error code which is trying to tell you the source of the problem.  Unfortunately there is nothing documented on those error codes in the Z570 manual and guides.  Hopefully someone will stop in with a little more information.  My best guess is that the AC adapter/charger is bad and the system completely drained your battery while you were watching the video. That's why the screen went black and system shut down.  One thing I would try if you have a voltmeter is to check to see if the AC adapter is indeed putting out the required voltage.  Listed on the back of the adapter will be the specifications for it.

I have a lenovo ideapad y510p and everything was fine until for I thought I'd do the battery reset in the lenovo energy management,at first the battery was dead and laptop wouldnt turn on,,I found one way around this which is that first I take the battery out and then insert the ac adapter, the laptop turns on then I put it in hibernate while I insert battery after which it seems to charge but only after I do these steps, but if I take the adapter out and insert it back in,it would stop charging.this is all because of the lenovo energy management software battery reset.I've uninstalled it but it doesnt work.any suggestions?I'm guessing one of the steps after full charge during the battery reset the battery gets drained where it says "plugged in and not charging" until it reaches zero is the problem.

As per page 27 of the hardware maintenance manual you have a max of 16 GB for the RAM that would increase multi tasking and web use (specs: DDR3-1600/1333MHz SODIMM 2 (max 16 GB) similar to this discussion.

About WLAN upgrade, whitelist cards only offer same BGN features and no 5GHz as this post.

Last night I ran into a problem concerning my ability to charge my laptop. After my laptop had restarted itself (probably because of a windows update) my battery was close to dying. But when I plugged in the adapter, sadly there was no sign of it actually charging my battery. Of course the first thing I did was check if all the cables were actually plugged in, which they were. I also checked the forums to see if anyone else had this problem and I tried unplugging the adapter, removing the battery and holding the power button for ~30 seconds. Unfortunately, this didn't work for me. Since my battery is nearly empty I cannot really try to install anything to help solve this problem, as has been suggested on this forum to other users. I wouldn't mind buying a new adapter, but since it so suddenly stopped working I'm wondering if the adapter is even the problem. I had been able to succesfully charge my battery only a few hours before this problem occured. Also I haven't noticed any sparks/smoke/anything that is a clear indicator that something isn't right, coming from the ac. I apologise if this question has been asked before. Any help would be kindly appreciated!

I just got a new Ideapad 720S-13ARR, I bought two Anker adapters:USB 3.0 to EthernetUSB-C to HDMI adapterThe ethernet adapter works just fine. On the contrary, the USB-C to HDMI adapter does not works. I checked the adapter in another Dell laptop, and it works like a charm. But in the Lenovo, it is recognised by Windows as some "USB 2.0 BILLBOARD" device, it kind of gives the impression that Windows knows there is an external display since it lets you pick the projection mode, however it won't be able to read what monitor it is, and it won't display any image at all. I seem to have the latest BIOS and drivers, but I'm curious if I there is a particular Windows driver that I should force on this device as opposed to the default one that is getting (for that billboard thing). I saw other threads in this forum for Yoga noteboooks which were apparently resolved by a BIOS update, but I already have the latest. And I saw other threads in which a very significant amount of users are reporting all sort of problems with Lenovo's Type-C ports and these adapters. Has anyone been successful with this laptop and with any HDMI or VGA adapter? Does anyone knows if the Lenovo branded adapter works fine? Any particular driver I should force this device to use? Cheers! Nestor.

Hi all,I have a couple of months old ideapad 720s running win10. Since a few days ago, I am not able to turn on my pc without the ac adapter plugged in. However, the second I turn on the computer, I can take the plug off an my pc works fine just on the battery. The battery is also charging ok, it just won't start the laptop. I don't recall doing any system/driver/software updates around the time this issue first occurred. Also, my energy managment seems to loose "memory" of my settings whenever I turn off the pc and unplug the ac adapter. If the cord stays in all the time while the pc is turned off, the energy managment settings work just fine. So, it seems like a hardware issue to me, but it's hard to imagine what exactly could be the problem, since the battery is charging. Any help would be much appreciated!

Hi

I got a 2nd hand Lenovo Ideapad 100S. It came with Win10 installed but had someone elses profile and data.
(I am not sure if it originally had Win8.1 when it was shipped, there is no rollback option anymore)

My preference is to wipe the current installation completely by downloading Win10 and installing a clean copy off USB.

I also usually prefer to delete all partitions, including recovery because future reinstallations can be done from scratch via USB. (I don't need the option of reinstalling from recovery partitions , the extra space is more important)

I see a warning in the user guide however .....
"Do not delete or modify the Recovery Partition on a WIMBoot-enabled computer. If the Recovery Partition is deleted or modified, you may not be able to restore Windows to the factory status. For computer models on which WIMBoot is enabled, deleting the Recovery Partition may cause Windows to fail to start. How can I determine whether the Windows running on my computer is WIMBoot enabled? WIMBoot technology is normally enabled on copies of Windows 10 Update running on SSD (or eMMC) -only computer models."

What is the best way to do this?

Install a clean copy and remove the partition by booting off a USB, or should I not do this?

A:Ideapad 100s - Win10 clean installation on ideapad...

 Hi larrens ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

It's a good thing you posted first before proceeding with any clean installation.
Not sure what the Machine Number is to verify the details and specifications of your system.

But if you have a pc with a Windows Image Boot (or WIMBoot) you may not want to choose a clean installation.
This new deployment of installation is compressing part of a big OS file so that you can have an operating system that can only take small spaces intended for small storages (SSD).

Best option to wipe out previous owners profile is a have a fresh out of the box image is using the Puch button Factory reset (Novo key similar to Item 7 page 1). Simply shutdown the system and use the button to turn on, System Recovery option would provide One key recovery from initial backup to do it.

WIM boot are usually created thru OEM depot authorized by Microsoft . DIY for WIMboot maybe a bit complicated.

Hope this answered your query.
