I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Hey what's up ,
i am having a problem that almost get me insane, i have a laptop (Toshiba Satellite L70-A-13P) well it's my friend laptop, it's been more than 2 weaks that i am triying to install drivers for it ,but what i am stuck at is the driver for the Graphic Card i've been looking for a long time for a compatible one ,and somehow i've managed to do that, but now i am facing a problem that everytime i tried to install it ,it gave me this error message "you must install intel driver first" and for me i gues all the dirvers are installed; what make me sure of that is that i've tried some website and 2 programs to detect drivers and they all gave the result that all the drivers are okay , what should i do now to make the driver work for my Graphic Design since i can't play any video game please if anyone has any idea please give me a hand much appreciated thanks in advance.

A:Graphic Card Driver (you must install intel driver first)

Hi Serious Gamer,

You could try running the Intel Driver Update Utility. Completely safe directly from the Intel site, it should find any drivers that our out of date and update them. Intel® Driver Update Utility

I know you said you ran multiple programs like that and if you've already tried that one, just let me know. I was trying to find a specifications sheet about your friends laptop, best I could find was this. Product data-sheet Toshiba Satellite L70-A-13P notebooks (PSKNEE-03X02WFR)

Does his laptop have the discrete graphics card or the on-board graphics?

I have sony laptop model: PVCF132Fx, win 7 Home prem x64
There seems to be driver issue on video card. As soon as you fresh install, it works great for few hours, may be few days. After that, it crashed with blue screen.

If I go into safe mode and uninstall the display driver, sometimes it works other times, it doesn't

Any idea? is my laptop running too hot? how do I check the temp?

Hi, i'm experimenting problems with graphic card driver. When i install the driver (both the Lenovo suggested one and the Intel one), the screen become black and i can listen the sound of a disconnected device. Then, after every boot, i can't see anything on the display. I installed windows from zero and i haven't installed any other third party software, the only operation i've done after the installation is the Windows' update and Lenovo's drivers update. I tried also to install graphic card driver in safeboot mode, and the installation completes, thus i think the problem depends on conflicts between drivers. I also tried to install old Intel driver, but the problem persists. The first time it happend was in June, during a Windows' update. After that, the only "solution" i found to see the screen is to restore the Microsoft basic driver. I can't figure out if the problem depends on Windows or on Lenovo's drivers. Any solution?Thank you.

First time here, and now I really need some good advice.

I am the owner of a Sony VAIO VPCCW1S1E, and since start in January 2010 I have had some problems with crackling sound when playing audio or video. Over the last week things have gotten worse; the crackling sound won't stop. I've been reading several threads about the problem, and I realize that it's common. Obviously, I'm not alone. Some seem to get the problem solved in different ways, and others seem to struggle.

However, I've been trying some troubleshooting today by using DPC Latency Checker and atencyMon. I have found out that my graphic card NVidia GeForce GT 230M is the main problem. In LatencyMon driver file nvlddmkm.sys reaches highest execution value (>2.00), but also tcpip.sys, ndis.sys and ACPI.sys get high values (>1.00) in LatencyMon.

In DPC Latency Checker I get more red bars than green, and values are pending between 2000 and 25000um. When disabling, and also uninstalling the graphic card, the green bars will show up more frequently with values between 500-1000um. After reinstalling and upgrading NVidia things haven't get better. Actually, it seems to have gotten worse, and the crackling sound goes on. I have also upgraded BIOS, and reinstalled sound card drivers.

What to do now? Suggestions?

/Per, Sweden

A:DPC Latency/NVIDIA Graphic driver issue

I know nothing about your particular hardware, but when I have had problems with crackling sound, I was able to eliminate it by adjusting and/or reseating the cables in their connectors. I'm assuming that your audio and video work through the same HDMI connection, if not, then I don't know what to say.

Hi

I have Gateway m 6823 notebook, which came with WIndows Vista. I have downgraded from Vista to XP, and was very surprised that there were absolutely no drivers for XP on gateway website for this model. I have searched intel and other sites and found XP drivers that work fine on my notebook now. I got wireless card working, sound, touchpad, the motherboard chipset driver and etc.

Now i have also downloaded Intel Video Driver Version: 7.14.10.1283. Which is actually works on this machine. I can now choose from many different resolution in display settings, and the stand by option available, and picture itself is clear. But there is a huge problem. The screen is too dark. What is the issue?

It is not a hardware problem, monitor is ok. Once I uninstall the driver it is bright as usual. Adjusting the brightness with FN combination has no affect. I tried also installing older versions of this driver but same issue. It is still dark. The only way to adjust brightness is in driver utility itself, but that is not doing what it supposed to do.

Please help. I need you help.

Thanks you guys.

A:Windows XP video/graphic driver issue!

You have probably done all that can be done. If you can't find the correct driver, or the one you have is not adjustable, then you may have to deal with a dark screen, or remove it and deal with the reduced resolution. If Gateway had no drivers, it is because this model was never sold with XP and there was no need. No one is making many new drivers for an operating system that is almost 10-years-old and been replaced by 2 generations of new operating systems.

It is surprising when XP even supports some new hardware since its kernel was designed before this new hardware even existed.

I am running windows Vista. I have just reformated and then I literally started getting graphic card errors *Note was working perfectly fine before hand!!!!*, so I don't think it's the graphics card. After installing Vista *At this time I am running on onboard graphics*, I installed the installation disc that came with the card, and then the most recent drivers. But when I restart to ocmplete driver installation, I get BIOS beeps *2 short, 1 long* which indicates a video error *can someone give me more information on this*. Since it didn't work I decided to reformat again this time installing a later version of the graphic drivers 186, *which I know are stable from when I know I used before I reformated*, and still no luck. The thing again, which I must emphasize, is it was working 100% *no troubles at all* before I reformatted which was yesterday, and my display is connected and coming from my graphics card. I go to device manager and I get error code 43 can someone also get me more in-depth information on this as well as the BIOS beeps.

Much appreciated, and I hope to god it isn't my graphics card

I have recently gotten a new HP computer and have downloaded a couple of games. However, when I try to start some of them, they do not run. I have checked that my device meets the minimum specifications and it does. The only other advice I could find was to update my graphics driver. I have checked out the driver installed on my device and it says that it is from 12/21/2015. I cannot think that it is the most recent driver for my hardware. I am just wondering if there is anything I can do about this problem.

Hi, I just updated my intel graphic drivers, not sure if this part is common or not but partway through the installation the display went off, then seemed to show a glitched display for about 1 second, black then the normal display returned, the installation then rapidly deleted a load of what i presume were the overidden or old version files and finished as a normal installation would. I closed the dialog box then got the windows message "this program might not have installed correctly"
If the graphic drivers hadn't installed right surely the system wouldn't be displaying with my normal settings and would have switched to the motherboard very basic drivers?
It did install an audio driver as well from the same install program and those hd audio drivers aren't ones I use as I have realtek audio and drivers for that.
So wondering why I would have gotten the possible installation error message.

Semantics - It didn't say it hadn't installed correctly, it said it "may* not have" installed correctly.

What you're asking is to change hardware, not software... which isn't exactly updating. You would have to buy the specific graphics card to do that.

If you want to update your graphics card:
Start -> Search "Device Manager" -> Click Device Manager -> Click arrow next to "Display Adapters" -> Right Click your graphics card -> Select "Update Driver Software..."

I don't know a lot about computers, but I understand a few things with my graphics driver. My computer messed up when an update for Windows 10 installed on it, myou boyfriend (who is good with computers) said something wasn't compatible with my driver and Windows 10 and my laptop. We Uninstalled windows 10 and decided to install Windows 8.1, all works fine with it, but now it will not let us install any driver. I downloaded a program that would let us download the drivers through device manager, which it did start allowing us to download, but now every driver we download acts like it's not compatible and we have to go into safe mode and uninstall it. Some drivers still won't download and says my computer doesn't have the minimum requirements to download the driver. It's an HP laptop. I've also downloaded the drivers meant for my computer off the HP website, and those cause a black screen after being installed as well.

I got a hp pavilion dv9700 with nVidia GeForce 8600M GS with 512mb.

NVIDIA seems to do a poor job of supplying updated drivers for laptops.

Hi. I've recently installed win 8.1 and downloaded the latest version of the graphic driver. when I want to install it there's a problem.
Windows found driver software for your device but it encountered a problem while attempting to download it.
The parameter is incorrect

I've tried disabling signed driver enforcement.
and I've tried browsing through winsxs folder, but it finds my old version

Thanks in advance

first, i'm apologizing for being a computer idiot, but I've never actually messed with / installed a sound card myself. I had it installed by someone who knew what he was doing. :\

okay, so:
i just did a clean install of Windows 7.
a few months ago, i had a new graphics card installed to allow me to play The Sims 3. everything worked fine for months, just exactly like it is now, until I installed Windows 7.

Now, in my device manager, I show two graphics cards:
- Radeon X1300/X1550 Series (Microsoft Corporation WDDM)
- Standard VGA Graphics Adapter.

Both show up as fully updated with working drivers, and claim to be working properly, but in my display settings, it shows up as "Generic PnP Monitor on Standard VGA Graphics Adapter." I've disabled the VGA Graphics adapter in Device Manager, but when I restart the computer, it says "Default Monitor on," with no adapter listed.

Even though I always hooked my monitor into the motherboard, I tried plugging it directly into the graphics card, but the monitor shows nothing except for the "Monitor is working, test red, test blue, etc."

I also tried to enter BIOS and disable my onboard video card; but I didn't see an option to do that (I have Phoenix BIOS on an Emachine T2615, btw).

I actually uninstalled the OnBoard video through device manager, but it automatically installed when I restarted my computer.

I would just wait and take it to the guy who installed it (i won't go to best buy or an... Read more

Can someone tell me how that this stupid graphic card/motherboard or what else can do this to me.

In this 2 days my stupid pc is frezzing and got BSOD 5 times. I'll crash him...

Here is again the dump file. I know that is from graphic driver.
As ya'll know I send the graphic card to the servicer and he told me that there is nothing wrong with it. This is making me very nervous. It can freeze in anytime and my work will go fu**.. away !

Does my motherboard is not working good, I mean that PCI Express slot is not working propertly ?

I don't know what else can causing problems here.

Hi and welcome to sevenforums

This software\driver needs an update ViMicro USB PC Camera 305 Driver,is old from 08-Jul-06.

Though in the ViMicro website i can see only 2005 version http://www.vimicro.com/english/download_n.htm

For the moment stop the cpu overclock and set it to factory default settings.

Download and install Driver Sweeper

Download the most recent software\driver for your NVIDIA

Uninstall nvidia software\driver,restart in safe mode, run driver sweeper, choose only NVIDIA-Display and clean, restart in normal mode.

Install the new ati software\driver,restart.

Update DirectX
Run the nvidia-video-card-test post here the results.

NOTE: Unfortunately, i couldnt get the SF_Diagnostics Tools to run because it always end up with an error of "Please run in adminstrator by right clicking" etc, which obviously i did many times to avail. Therefore, ill provide what i can manually.

Okay, I just can't take it anymore. After my warranty has ran out i thought it would be a good idea to upgrade my PC, so i put in a few RAM cards, a new power supply at first. And everything was great - games were capped at medium graphics (middle-end graphic card - GT 250) but no crashes at all. The problem started when i changed to GTX-560 with a new heatsink/fan. Recommended power supply was 500W, mine was at a modular rate of 520W, so i thought it would be fine. Overheating will be expecting due to lack of advanced cooling system, but i know my limits and didn't go overboard with the graphics in games.

Take note that i did not overclock my system.

The problem comes in random intervals whenever playing games like Team Fortress 2, Metro 2033 or Red Orcherstra 2, and even mapping/modelling softwares such as Maya and Hammer editor. Even viewing youtube videos will end up in a BSOD.

The below is the most latest crash debug i gotten out of the many:

I have a toshiba laptop that I'm upgrading to vista...when I run the Toshiba Upgrade Assistant it starts to install vista components. There's a total of 22. The first 2 installed fine, but the third, the Intel(R) Graphic Media Accelerator Driver for some reason fails to install. The pop up installer says that the installation was complete, but then a pop up comes up and says that it failed to install and restarts my computer. Is there anyway to skip the graphic media driver install so that I can have all the other components installed? This problem doesn't really affect the running of vista, but every time I start my computer the installation thing pops up, but I want vista to complete its installation, ya know? Ok, so if anybody can help, that'd be great!

A:Failed to install Intel(R) Graphic Media Accelerator Driver

Since it's a Toshiba package you are installing, rather than separate components yourself -- I'd contact Toshiba and ask them about it.

Unless the installation package gives you the ability to custom install, I don't know what answer can be given here.

You could do a system restore to revert to the pre install date, but then none of the updates would be installed.

You also might try disabling UAC and see if that's a factor. This can be done through the program "msconfig" > Tools and requires a reboot.

Hello guys, I was using a 4:3 monitor before, then I bought this widescreen monitor. It was showing too wide, I mean when i choose 1024x768 in options, it fills perfectly(which it shouldn't). I tried somethings and didn't work. At last I formatted my pc, then it was ok.

I didn't install the graphic card driver my self, but it looked like installed when i saw the device manager. I was using 1280x720 resolution(I guess it should be 1366x768 tho, it's better than having the other issue).

Few days later, I wanted to play another game(which needs high graphic card, but i used to play it in my old 4:3 monitor). Game couldn't start, because my graphic card doesn't support. I was suprised because, I used to play it on my old monitor. Then I downloaded the graphic cards manually from amd's website. I installed it, then boom, the same exact issue I had before.....

Now I can play the game but, it's so annoying to do everything with this issue.

I appreciate the support. Thanks for reading.

Hi guys, I have a serious problem. Right now I've made the impossible for the driver to work correctly but I can't.

I am trying to install the correct Graphic Driver for an Acer Aspire 1410 to no avail.

It is a Mobile Intel 4 Series Express Chipset Family. I've tried to install it:
- Via the device manager
- From a driver download directly from the Acer Website.
- From Windows Update.

I have installed/uninstalled and I've ran out of ideas. Don't know what to do.

Each time I try to do something on device manager there's the yellow triangle with the display driver. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Can you give some background info about the laptop, like: are you trying to upgrade the drivers, did you just do a clean install of Windows (which version - 7 starter, 7 ultimate, etc)?

Ok so a few day's ago my friend gave me his old (working) graphic card Nvida geforce gt 240. After putting it in i downloaded drivers from nvida website and installed them, after the installation it restarted my computer and i got the Blue Screen of Death and it said MEMORY_MANAGEMENT. So i had to start it in Safe mode and un-installe the drivers and restared my PC then it worked again.
So i took out the graphic card and put my old one again installed the drivers and it worked fine.
So I downloaded BlueScreenView and it says the problem is ntoskrnl.exe (NT Kernel & System).
I did some research and found out it could be something with my RAM or Hard Drive, but I dont think this is the problem because my old card works fine.
Please help, this Graphic card that my friend gave me is much better then mine and i want to get it working.
What do u think is the problem and what should I do to fix it?

My set-up is:
CPU: Intel pentium D 935 3.20 GHz
OS: Windows XP Professional SP3
Motherboard: G41MT-S2PT (Gigabayte)
RAM: 2 GB DDR3

A:BSOD after installing driver for graphic card

The problem is older NVidia cards will not work with the newest NVidia drivers. You have to install one of their older drivers to get it to work properly. I am not sure what driver that particular card requires, BUT DonPedro could tell you because he is an expert on NVidia cards.

SO, go to this site :  http://www.k6plus.com/phpBB3/index.php?name=PNphpBB2  and make a post there asking for DonPedro's help on this matter.

So for about 5 days, I have experienced random and sporadic BSoD, before that it was normal and stable. I did my installation on my OS on October 2011. I'm quite sure it's graphic driver but I've clean installed almost 10 times and still crashing. It crashes randomly when I opened a Youtube video or open a video file, everything regarding to video. I'm already feeling hopeless here

My specs are
Win 7 64 bit Home Premium (not OEM)
Gigabyte X58 UD3R
i7 920
Gigabyte GTX 480
Asus Xonar Essence STX
3x2 OCZ RAM 1033 Mhz
My OS is located on my SSD which is an intel 510 120 Gb
I got 1 Tb hard drive caviar green
I got 500 Gb hard drive caviar green
and 250 Gb seagate (really old, it's IDE iirc)

I've uploaded the minidump and system performance, I hope I did right on the attachment (first time posting here). Really appreciate your help, thank you.
