L380 Yoga inside picture, WWAN card slot?

Q: L380 Yoga inside picture, WWAN card slot?

Does anyone have a picture of the L380 Yoga insides? I am curious if it has a WWAN slot. I know there is no open sim card card but isn't it the same motherboard as the X380?Also, does anyone know how many PCIe lanes it has?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello All, I'm looking under the hood of my 1st gen Thinkpad X1 Carbon, and I'm trying to identify the PCIe slots.  In particular, the following page states that I should have 2 PCI Express Mini slots:  https://support.lenovo.com/au/en/solutions/pd027202 Now I see the WLAN card and the WWAN card, and my natural assumption is that these are both in PCIe ports, but on closer inspection I see that the WLAN card's slot is only 19mm wide, whereas the WWAN card is the standard 26mm width of normal PCIe Mini ports. This raises some questions:  1. Is the WLAN connected to a proprietary slot, or is this just a different type of PCIe standard?  2. If the WLAN is connected to a proprietary slot, where is my second PCIe slot? Any help would greatly be appreciated. Regards,Adam Zebrowski-az

A:Why is my WLAN card slot narrower than my WWAN card slot (PCIe mini)?

On closer inspection, it looks like my SSD connects to a similar-looking slot as my WLAN card.  I guess this means my WLAN card uses a SATA connection or something? I normally work with desktop PCs, so I'm unfamiliar with a lot of these laptop hardware standards. Regards,Adam Zebrowski-az-

I"ve pulled as hard as I think safe - and it seems to be stuck. Is there some trick to removing it? Or have others experienced this tightness?  Thanks for any info.

I don't need super quick access to data I would like to store on this card. I'm wondering though, how large capacity wise of micro sd cards can L380 Yoga read? What's the GB limit? I can't find the answer on official specs etc.If anyone knows, please let me know, thanks!

Hi all,Recently, one of my friends bought a ThinkPad L380 laptop. I would say the internal speaker has improved. The bass goes deeper and treble is more extended compared to the older model
To tweak the sound:1. Right-click the photo below, save as Desktop. You may try both to see which EQ you prefer.

2. Go to Start > All Apps (All Programs) > Dolby > Dolby Audio.

3. Drag it onto the Dolby Atmos application.Do take note that if you were to connect your external speaker/headphone to the headphone jack, change the EQ to others, or off. As this EQ preset is only optimized for L380, L380 Yoga, S2 and S2 Yoga Speakers, not optimized for your external speaker/headphone.Hope you enjoy this tweaks!

Hello  At work my colleagues and I use a Think T470S , Model-No 20HF-003NMZ. There is a SIM card slot at the side of these notebooks, so I put in a SIM card from a Swiss provider. However, with or without a SIM, I don't see any LTE/WWAN devices in Windows listet on at least two f our T470s. So my question is, does the T470S support LTE/WWAN access? I mean, there is the SIM card slot, but as I can see from the Lenovo's shop configurator, some models do have a WWAN ready option. Does this mean I have to buy an accessory to get the WWAN working? Or is it a configuration / driver problem? Your help would be greatly appreciated. Kind regards, Radiofloyd

A:T470S No LTE / WWAN adapter in Windows although SIM card slot exists.

Hi Radiofloyd,Warm Greetings & welcome to Lenovo Community, happy to have you here.

Looking at your system configuration this model is WWAN ready but in order to use this feature, you need to add WWAN card to it.

I hope the above information helped you.

I've searched and seen every thread on this topic and have found no resolution except for a specific ADATA SSD from HP that has a firmware upgrade that gets around this problem. I purchased a KingSpec NT-512 m.2 SATA SSD for my P51s. By specifications, this drive should be perfectly compatible. However, this drive is rejected by the P51s firmware and gives the "1802: Unauthorized network card is plugged in" error and refuses to boot to windows. http://www.kingspec.com/products_detail/productId=60.html Has there been any resolution to this issue that I am unaware of? How do I force the P51s to stop rejecting this SSD because it thinks it is an "unauthorized network card"?

I have an x1 yoga WWAN where SIM card occasionally not detected. This can even happen in the middle of an active LTE connection. Reseating the SIM helps but even without reseating if I run an AT!RESET to reset the EM7455 wwan card, it will start working again. I have not done any troubleshooting but would like to know what the most likely failure mode is:- Bad EM7455 card- Bad sim slot with a glitchy contact- bad solder job or other connection issue between EM7455 M.2 slot and SIM slot. I.e. how likely is it that replacing the EM7455 will resolve this? One other poster on this board had Lenovo come out and replace the entire motherboard but that seems drastic in my case as it works fine 95% of the time.

My TPY 260 hasn't arrived yet I am just wondering if anyone here has tried this? The WWAN card uses the same M.2 connector as the regular SSD except it is B-keyed which means it would only fit a SATA SSD. Since WWAN (LTE) is not even an option at the moment I would like to be able to make use of this slot if I can. It looks as if there is space for a 42mm length M.2 SSD which would be great for dual booting windows and linux.

One of the reasons I ended up choosing the P51s over other comperable laptops was its unparalleled expandability in a portable, quite thin package. I can't think of any other laptops, outside of the T470s, that are 15.6" or smaller, allow for more than one internal hard drive, and aren't meant to be teathered to a desk. I was informed by multiple Lenovo customer represenatives before I bought my laptop that the P51s not only had a 2.5" SATA bay, but also an open WWAN slot that could be used to house an m.2 SATA SSD. I just got around to buying an m.2 SATA SSD for the slot, but my laptop is rejecting it. It won't even boot unless I disable the WWAN slot (from the BIOS) entirely. What gives? I thought I could put an SSD in the slot--that was one of the reasons I bought the laptop!

Good evening all! I am a very happy owner of an X270 laptop, running Gentoo Linux. Everything (with the exception of fingerprint recognition) works very well indeed. I want to put a second SSD in the WLAN slot, but I am struggling to find clear specifications as to what can be fitted. Can anyone please point out where I should be able to find this information, or better still give me a clear specification so I can order a drive. I am looking at https://www.scan.co.uk/products/256gb-scanfx-sm961-polaris-m2-nvme-mlc-v-nand-ssd-pcie-30-x4-read-31...It appears to be correct, but I am not sure if the physical size is OK or not. Many thanks for your support!

A:SSD Specification for X270 WWAN slot

Hello and welcome,

I don't have hands on experience but based on these documents that SSD won't work.

First, the 2nd SSD goes in the WWAN slot - presuming you don't have WWAN or WiGig already.  The WWAN slot doesn't support NVMe, and isn't that physical size.

http://psref.lenovo.com/syspool/Sys/PDF/ThinkPad/ThinkPad%20X270/ThinkPad_X270_Platform_Specificatio...

"Some: 128GB M.2 SSD / SATA 6.0Gb/s, in WWAN slot as 2nd Storage,
mutually exclusive with WWAN and WiGig"

Looking at the HMM, the SSD tha would fit is 2242 SATA.

Hardware Maintenance Manual - ThinkPad X270

The SSD you linked is 80mm NVMe and could go in the primary slot - with proper frame and cable - but not in the WWAN slot.

Hello! I just buy X1Y without WWAN-modem, because I don't really need it for now, and try to use empty WWAN M.2 slot for SSD like I did with all my previous Thinkpad's - so I install Transcend TS256GMTS400 that perfectly works at my previous Thinkpad Yoga 12... but SSD does not apper at BIOS! At "BIOS - Boot priority" there are some empty device named "NVMe0" - because of absent of external NVMe ports and present of Samsung SSD as different device at M.2 2280 slot, its possible can be support for NVMe-PCIE SSD at that WWAN-slot... but I can not find any SSD M.2 2242 NVMe at all world...  Also I dont find any WWAN-antennas near WWAN-slot. Also because of gluided Yoga touch screens its unpossible to install WWAN-antennas by user without waranty lose. So it seems that X1Yoga's that sell's without WWAN-modems does not support WWAN-modems at all! So after all those problems it seems that at all configurations of Thinkpad X1 without WWAN-modem this WWAN-slot is absolutely useless!!! PS Also X1 have flimsy soiled case, loud keybord and a specially very loud touchpad buttons and trackpad buttons!  Does Thinkpad X1 with such problems are really premium device?!?!?!  Any suggestions for WWAN-SSD?!

I had been reading the new review of the T470 from Notebookcheck and something caught my eye; they specifically mention more than once that the WWAN slot can be used for an SSD; http://www.notebookcheck.net/Lenovo-ThinkPad-T470-Core-i5-Full-HD-Notebook-Review.198130.0.html"Between the WiFi module and the 2.5-inch slot is also a free M.2-2242 slot, which can either be used for a WWAN module (antennas prepared) or an SSD""The available storage solutions for the ThinkPad T470 are quite interesting. Inside the chassis is a 2.5-inch slot attached via PCIe x2. This slot can either be equipped with a conventional 2.5-inch hard drive (HDD or SSD, up to 7 mm high) or an M.2-SSD (2280), which is sitting in the 2.5-inch tray via adapter. It is also possible to implement another SSD in the M.2-2242 slot. Lenovo's spec sheet, for example, lists a 128 GB model or Intel's Optane solution (16 GB), which can act as cache in combination with a conventional hard drive."I'm hesitant to assume this will apply to the new X1 since it doesn't have an option for HDD and therefore no need to configure the WWAN port to support an SSD for caching. Can anybody test/confirm this? I've read documentation on the new X1 Spec sheet and hardware maintenance and it mentions nothing about support for additional devices in the WWAN slot. I'd kill to be able to have a separate SSD for a linux install so I don't have to mess with bootloaders every time windows has a major update.

Dear community,  I am thinking about getting a Thinkpad L380 Yoga since I need a more portable device than my T570. I did some research and found some issues I would like to ask real users of the notebook about. It would be great if some of you may take some time to answer my questions.  Display:  My T570 got a non-glaring screen, so usually the brightness is set to the lowest (or second lowest) value. Is this also possible with the L380 or is a higher brightness necessary under normal indoor conditions? Durability:  One reviewer stated that the build quality of the L380 is not on par with other Thinkpads. Is that true? Have you experienced damages caused by daily use? Active Pen Most reviews only mentioned very basic information on the Active Pen. Thanks in advance for your answers!
