L560 Intel LAN network disconnecting frequently - can't update NVM Gbe

Q: L560 Intel LAN network disconnecting frequently - can't update NVM Gbe

Hello, I have trouble with my L560 with an Intel L219-V network adapter. It seems to be a known problem, connection is lost, it comes back, disconnects, connects, disconnects and so on.Temporary solution is to reboot the computer, but the issue reappears after a while. Lenovo has already repaired the computer with a new motherboard and RAM (for some reason). It seems this did not fix anything as it has shown up again. I started searching and it seems to be a known issue, and is usually fixed as per this download: https://support.lenovo.com/ch/sv/downloads/ds121059 HOWEVER... when trying to run this update I get an error. I thought it might have something to do with Windows 10, so I tried a fresh Windows 7 32-bit install. I got another, but a little different error. It says "No update needed", but when I check the NVM Gbe version it is still 0.8. The update is supposed to update 0.8 to 1.3 to fix the connection issue. What am I supposed to do? Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Since a few years back my NIC (I291-V) don't work properly anymore. It started to make trouble after NIC was replaced (reason unknown as there was no problem there) during other repair of laptop. I have been trying to fix it but to no success. Have been using Wifi instead. After reboot NIC works fine but it fails after a certain amount of databits have been passing through the NIC. During normal surfing it will work the whole time as the critical data limit will nog be reached but during update of PC <-> NAS i.e. while large data is moved, the NIC will fail and disconnect the LAN.. Quite annouying. Anyone else with the same problem? One solution is to just buy a USB-NIC..

Hey all;
Shortly after a failed Win7 upgrade, I installed the manufacturers drivers for my wireless card since I was in a BSOD boot loop, and that fixed the problem.
But with these drivers, I keep randomly getting disconnected from the internet - particularly when streaming video.
I don't think it's due to automatically connecting to other networks because the signal strength of those other networks is always lower, and it happens more often when I'm on Youtube or other video-streaming sites.
I have an Acer Aspire 5532 laptop running Win7 Home Premium, my wireless card is an Acer Aspire AR5B93 Wireless Network Adapter.
Thanks in advance!

I have a broadband connection which is connected to a wireless router, how ever wirelessly to my laptop the connection is fine. But the LAN connection to my desktop has the habit of disconnecting randomly every few minutes or so...any help or tips on this subject would be greatly appreachiated.

A:Internet disconnecting frequently

First thing is to verify that it is not a cable or a port issue:

Try to change the cable
then with the new cable, try a different port.
If it still is causing the problem, check the drivers for your network card.

Last - try a new NIC card.

I currently have an i.t.works keyboard, model number: CS 01. It's been working fine for years when suddenly it stopped working, then started working again. During use, it frequently just stops working for varying amounts of time. Whenever my wireless receiver receives a signal the blue light flashes. I've noticed that when the keyboard stops working the blue light doesn't flash. However my wireless mouse works fine!

I have already tried replacing the batteries, putting the receiver and keyboard right next to each other, cleaning the keyboard, re-installing the receiver/keyboard, updating the drivers. Nothing worked!

PLEASE help as it is of vital importance to me! Thanks!

Hi, all! I've only begun experiencing this issue in the past month. I took a few months off from online gaming in general, and returned to strange connectivity issues. It's happened in FFXIV, Diablo 3, Path of Exile, and Borderlands 2. My internet's never been the best, a measly 3 mbps, but it's always been extremely stable while gaming until now. What happens is I will suddenly be disconnected from the game's servers. I'm not always running other applications, but when I am (Skype or Pandora through my browser,) I don't lose connection with those services. My internet doesn't really disconnect, but I can't keep in contact with the servers for long. This usually happens every 30 minutes or so. Connecting through a VPN (WTFast) helps it occur less, but it does happen from time to time. I've tried disabling my software firewall (AVG) but it doesn't help. The router firewall is disabled, and I've forwarded appropriate ports for the games I'm playing.

Granted, my router is VERY OLD. It's possible that it's failing, but I'd rather troubleshoot the issue before throwing money at the problem. It's a Westell A90-750015-07. My ISP is Verizon. I haven't contacted their support line because I don't pay the bill and I'm not sure if I can. In any event, I'd rather look into it myself first, but I'm really not sure where to start. Nothing unusual turns up in Netalyzr reports or tracerts to game servers. I'm not experiencing packet loss and my ping remains very stable. It doesn't even spi... Read more

Hi, I was wondering if you could help me, I want to upgrade the BIOS of the L560 from 1.18 to 1.43. Each time I try this, it boots into the bios system, I select bios update and follow the steps until the screen says that it will reboot, but it never does. (see screenshot) Frozen at this screenAfter hours of waiting, trying to long press (20 sec) the power button shuts down the computer. Afterwards the computer boots but displays "Secure Flash Authentication failed!"After forced rebootAfter that I have to long press (20 sec) the power button again to restart the computer and it boots back into the 1.18 (I have also tried to update to version 1.22 or 1.17 (downgrade), with the same results)And also tried to "upgrade" to the same version 1.18 as well, which doesn't work because the system says that there is no new version. Do you have any tips how to upgrade the BIOS on the L560? Kind RegardsOlaf

but what really bothers me is that at first as in likr the first week the bluetooth on my Intel dualband AC 7260 was amazing! working as its supposed to , i could go to the hallway of my house and be connected clear and no latency. but now a days its like before and sometimes worse. i have to be literally 1ft and sit at a angle for the bluetooth to be good. some days and places its good and others its terrible. it seems to be really bad at work( i starting to think its a interference issue. but even at home its semi bad, theres times where if i stand up and move away form the laptop my headset says out of range trying to connect, also sometimes if i cover a certain spot on my laptop it cuts off, same with my bluetooth speaker. and my devices are just fine because when i connect them to my phone they work perfect. also works well with my AUkey. i tried different drivers to no avail what can do?

so I have this brand new Dell Inspiron 7559 with the Intel HD 530 and Nvidia graphics card. I am also using a Dell external display that uses the same full hd resolution and 60 hz frequency.
So I have connected the external display using DVI>HDMI cable to my laptop. Everything works fine. But I have disconnected the cable, used the laptop around with the built in display and later shut it down. After doing this i cant start it with the external display again. No matter what I do, I tried every setting, also hitting the buttons on my keyboard to use only the second display etc. It stays black.
Only thing that helps - I have to reinstall the drivers "7559_Video_Driver_HYWWT_WN32_20.19.15.4352_A03". After doing this, it works again till i dont disconnect it and shut it down. But I cant work like this, always reinstalling the drivers.
Second Issue - after reinstalling the drivers, it restarts the system but the text is slightly blurry in some applications, I have to restart it again to get sharp text.

Hi...I'm running Win7 Home Premium (64-bit), 8Gb RAM, with the chip:
Intel Core i7 2600K @ 3.40GHz
Sandy Bridge 32nm Technology

Graphics is not dedicated and is handled via this Intel chip.
During Windows Updates, MS ones download perfectly.

However, I also get an additional 'optional' update named: 'Intel Corporation - Display - Intel(R) HD Graphics'

This has never succeeded in downloading.
The MS explanation is always the same: possible interruption from my connection to their server...yet never any interruption when I download MS updates at exactly the same time!

After that, I get the usual 'download Mr Fix It' software which proves itself to be utterly useless in helping me find why the download is not succeeding.

I run Avast anti-virus and Zone Alarm firewall...but I can't figure out if they are somehow preventing the download.

I'd appreciate any help on this....

Many thanks

Hi, this is my first time posting so bare with me if I do anything wrong.

I am having some difficulties with my system.

I purchased a new toshiba laptop and Belkin wireless router.

I use windows live messenger quite regularly and since I've been using this new set up, I find that my internet keeps on disconnecting.

I heard that routers tend to do that, due to walls and electrical appliances interfering with the signal, but I think its happening too often with mine.

When I'm using Windows Live Messenger, I sometimes get signed out but I can sign in right away after that, sometimes my internet losing signal completely and I have to wait a minute for it to regain.

When I video conference on Windows Live I get repeatedly signed out, after a few minutes, and i'm just wondering why this is?

Can it be solved? Or is it just a poor networking system?

I upgraded my Windows Live to the latest upgrade and still no luck.

Thanks for all your help!

My wireless network fails intermittently. When it fails, I repair the wireless network and it works fine for a while, then it fails again (after 10-90 mins – at the moment I am repairing every 10 minutes). There are never any error messages, except to say that the there is no connection and ipconfig give a 'Media disconnected' message.

My two laptops (XP & Vista) always connect without problem.

I am running XP SP3, I have a BThomehub.

I have tried everything: I have reset the BThomehub to factory settings, I tried a static IP address (which ran excellently for 1 week, then started failing). I changed the hub’s channel. I have reset IP (with ResetTCPIP.msi) and I restored XP to a time prior to the problems. None have worked.

I phoned the BT helpline, who tried a few things then declared the BThomehub to be ok, and said it was my PC.

At the DOS prompt I got the following IPCONFIG information

I have the following setup:

Two computers and a laptop, one computer is wired to the router and the other one and the laptop are wireless and can connect without problems to the network.

I also have one more computer and this is the one that I have been having problems with. After a fresh install of Xp, I tried installing the drivers for the network card but I wasn't sure which ones I was using as had to download new ones after losing the install disc. I think I may have corrupted some files as it just doesn't connect.

I then tried installing a usb wireless adapter, model Azurewave Gu210. This did work initially and then after a restart, it stopped working once again.

Now, it is finding the network, connecting and immediately disconnecting after about 3 or 4 seconds.

I have tried using the inbuilt utility that came with the driver and also WZC but it will only connect using WZC but like I said, only for seconds at a time.

My fear is that I have installed and uninstalled a few network drivers and that the whole thing is messed up, I am contemplating wiping Xp and reinstalling, just so I can clear any network clutter I might have setup.

To show how messed up it is, I am currently on windows network connection 9....

Any and all help greatly appreciated.

Hi, this is a problem i have with my network.

For some reason, my internet will disconnect every now and then. How serious is it? Its annoying. I have to use the "troubleshoot problems" options now when it happens. The network can sometimes be so unresponsive that i have to restart it in hopes that it will reset.

I tried some other fixes like turning off the network for a while and unplugging the modem, they worked for a while until it the problem keeps coming back.

When it goes in its "Disconnected" state, the network icon has 4 bars lighted up even if the network isn't working. Sometimes an exclamation mark will show up saying that the connection is limited. (limited, disconnected same thing)

When troubleshooter fixes this problem, i will usually get this result:

Yes and that error is specific. Sometimes i might get a "broadband modem is experiencing connectivity issues" notification like that or "Investigate Router issues".

I’m pretty tired of calling the BrightHouse technicians over right about now. I’ve must have had at least 4 or 5 over and their solutions are always only temporary. I figure I ought to come to the forum of experts now.

I’ve had this ongoing problem with my internet for several years now. Over the years, we’ve had four computers (two Vistas, two XP’s) all connected to a network via a router, which is then connected to a modem. Most of the time, the internet works fine. Once in a while though, the internet will just crash for everyone and it will persist for days. I am just completely clueless as to what the problem is. I would like to get it fixed once and for all; the problem is, as I’ve already stated, I have no idea where to start, or even if there is just one problematic source rather than a couple.

The entire network's internet completely stops working. This can last for several minutes, hours, even days. Some weeks, the internet is flawless and it seems like the problem goes away. Other weeks, it simply can't be ignored (and the few hours the internet is up are precious).

I’m going to run through a couple points:
-We’ve gone through 3 modems (I think these technicians tend to automatically place the blame on the modem). This rules out the modem itself as the issue; that is, unless we just have extremely bad luck with modems. Currently, the modem looks like a Webstar DPC... Read more

We have a static IP dsl router going to several VPNs. To troubleshoot one of these VPNs we setup a pc connected to the router directly with a static address. The pc is running a packet sniffer (not free/shareware). We are able to log on to the router directly from this PC. The problem is when we disconnect this PC it slows the router down until traffic stops all together and the VPNs go down. Only when this PC is connected and logged on to the router do we have decent connection speed for the VPNs. I can open the packet sniffer and see all kinds of ARP/IP/UDP traffic coming from the router to this PC. We need to take this computer off the router without it slowing down the rest of the network.

Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

A:Pop ups and disconnecting my network all the time

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order it is mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes. You should not have any open browsers when you are following the procedures below.

Go to My Computer->Tools/View->Folder Options->View tab and make sure that 'Show hidden files and folders' (or 'Show all files') is enabled. Also make sure that 'Display the contents of system folders' is checked. Windows XP's search feature is a little different. When you click on 'All files and folders' on the left pane, click on the 'More advanced options' at the bottom. Make sure that Search system folders, Search hidden files and folders, and Search subfolders are checked.

For the options that you checked/enabled earlier, you may uncheck them after your log is clean. If we ask you to fix a program that you use or want to keep, please post back saying that (we don't know every program that exists, so we may tell you to delete a program that we think is bad to keep).

Reboot into Safe Mode (hit F8 key until menu shows up). Make sure to close any open browsers. Run a scan in HijackThis. Check each of the following and hit 'Fix checked' (after checking them) if they still exist (make sure not to miss any):

Ok so my problem is pretty weird. After connecting to a wireless network after anywhere from 5 minutes to 60 minutes my ability to connect to the internet stops. The wireless connection still shows as full strength. This problem occurs at every place that I have been and used wireless. Which is at least 5 or 6 different locations with different routers and internet suppliers. This doesn't occur when using wired. If I run a ipconfig all the info looks good. If I do a ipconfig /release and then a /renew the internet access will come back but will disappear again after a small amount of time.

This has happened using the drivers that windows 7 provides, the drivers lenovo provides for vista, and the latest drivers that intel provides for vista.

To clarify what I mean by the internet stops this means that when this happens pings to google.com suddenly timeout. And web browsing stops working. But any connection that was made already for example a download will keep downloading or a mmorpg will continue to work.

My computer specs are in my signature and in my profile. If anyone can help me out here I would appreciate it.

A:Wireless Network Disconnecting

I had exactly the same problem under Vista. It is definitely a new Win7/Vista networking thing. I don't know what fixed it, although I might suggest disabling IPv6 and running the standard Vista networking stability tweaks such as disabling auto-tuning:

[OC]ModShop - Solve File Copy Problems: Tweak Vista's auto-tuning Network

I no longer experience the problem. Usually to really fix it I had to reboot with the FIRST WLAN connection I connected to being the local one, and then it was fine... but when I went somewhere else I had to reboot as well.

My laptop keeps spontaneously not being able to connect to the internet.

It'll be working fine one minute and then I'll suddenly lose my internet connection. If I'm browsing then I usually get an error message stating that my router can't connect to the internet.

Also in the taskbar I'll get the little yellow warning triangle over my connection. If I check out the connections available it'll say that my wireless connection is weak and internet is unavailable.

The only way I've found to resolve this is resetting the router.

The only thing is it doesn't seem to be a problem with the router/network because my housemates' laptops / ps3 are still connected with no problems. It doesn't matter where I am in the house either so it's not a range issue.

I've noticed this happens a lot when playing steam games so I don't know if it's related to that at all?

Anyone know what's going on or have any suggestions?

A few things... if you suspect Steam (which has issues) disable it for a while and see if the disconnect issues still occurs.

Do you have latest wireless nic drivers?

Recently my computer has started connecting and disconnecting from my excellent wireless connection to a linksys low connection i do not know why but it does it a lot. When I want to fix it I have to repair the connection or manually go in and click on My connection. Sometimes after I repair it it will disconnect within the next two to 10 minutes, sometimes its fine for a longer period of time.

A:Wireless Network disconnecting

a few things - has this worked OK in the past - you sort of imply its just started happening

do you have a cordless phone
do you have wireless secruity
can yu post model of router
do you have any other PC connected to router - if so details
who is ISP

Post an ipconfig /all - for when its working and when it stops - see later
also try some ping test when working so you know the result and again when stops - see later
post results of above before and after too.

download and install
Free software to check signal strength of wireless is netstumbler 0.4.0 available for download from http://www.stumbler.net/

it will show us other wireless networks in area and channel - which may interfere

ipconfig /all

TWO Methods to do that - some people have problems with ONE----

ONE ---------------------------------
ipconfig /all

rightclick in the box
select all
control key + C key - to copy
then reply here and
control key + V to paste

TWO -----------------------------------------------

Start, Run, CMD to open a DOS window and type:

Open C:\RESULT.TXT with Notepad and copy/paste the entire results here.
NEXT lets see if you can get out onto the internet with both names and IP's - its possible the IP number you get back on the first test is different to the one I post {I'm in UK} so use the number you get instead of mine

try ping the name and then the IP see below

Simply stating, the problem is when I login, the network disconnects, and I have to reconnect.
It's on Windows 10. When I start the computer, the network say I'm connected (to the correct home network). Then I login, and for a few seconds after login it still says I'm connected. But then it disconnects me. I can then reconnect to the network without a problem, and it will stay connected (afaik). It happens every time. I tried disabling some startup program to see if it changed anything, but it didn't.
As said, it's on Windows 10 (I don't think it had this problem before the upgrade, but it's not my computer, so I'm not 100% sure).
It's connected with a Netgear wireless adapter WN111v2.

I have no idea what could be causing this, and can't seem to find anyone else with this problem.

My wifi keeps on disconnetcing from the network randomly.Sometimes it works fine for 10 minutes -1 hour and then the wifi signal changes to limited internet sign and then finally disconnects. This issue started when i updated my laptop to windows 10,but it was working fine before that. After constant searching on google i found lots of fixes by unsintalling the driver, updating the driver and changing power setting. But they didn't work.I thought the problem was due windows 10 so i went back to windows 8,but it still didn't work.So as a result i finally factory reset my computer. But the issue still continues.I am not sure about this but my friend had the same issue.I inserted his flash drive into his my comuter and my laptop started having the same problem. So i am not sure what caused the issue Upgrading to windows 10 or connecting a pen drive. My network adapter is Ralink RT5390 802.11bgn

Hey guys, i've got a really strange problem. I've searched for along time to resolve this, but none of the exsisting threads seem to have exactly the same problem as me so let me explain.

Im using a NF7 V2.0 motherboard with an Athlon 3000+ XP. The NF7 V2.0 has an onboard network card which I have the Uni drivers for (nForce2). The problem is at random times it seems to cut out then start up again, with a little bubble in the bottom right corner saying "Local area connection is now connected 10/100m" or something along those lines. So I tried my PCI network card and that has exactly the same problem. It usually disconnects during games, and as im sure you can imagine its extremly frustrating.

I have turned off "Let windows turn this devices off to save power" option but that has no effect.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

A:Network card keeps disconnecting. :(

Where does the other end of the cable go?

You could have a bad network cable or the device at the other end may be malfunctioning.

You can try setting the link speed manually to 10Mbit/100Mbit half/full duplex to stop the auto-detection and possible flapping

Ok, first post here, just need help for this problem. I use a wireless device which connects to my Desktop downstairs, which in turn connects to the router upstairs. All wireless too. So starting about 2 months ago I've been randomly disconnecting when playing games like WoW, and CoH and losing connection on the internet as well. It can't be the router I assume since the laptop upstairs which connects to the same thing never disconnects. I have a D-Link router and a D-link gaming router which connects to the PC. Any help?

Hi can someone please help.

I have a laptop running on win xp pro. It's connected to the domain.

It keeps disconnecting from 2 of the network drives.

I have pinged both of these drives no problem.

When I try pinging 127001 it times out which makes me think the problem Is with the nic driver.

It's a toshiba a300. I tried to look for a nic driver for it but can't seem to find one.

Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated

Many thanks

MS says:

"Ping the loopback address to verify that TCP/IP is installed and correctly configured on the local computer. To do this, type the following command:
If the loopback test fails, the IP stack is not responding. This problem may occur if any one or more of the following conditions is true:
The TCP drivers are corrupted.
The network adapter is not working.
Another service is interfering with IP."

wef: How to troubleshoot TCP/IP connectivity with Windows XP

You can click Start, Run and type netsh int ip reset >c:\resetlog.txt

The txt part gives you a report in C:\ folder.

Let me apologize in advance if this has been asked and answered, I looked and couldn't find an answer.
I have been running 2 network connections, work network to server, wired, and a wireless connection through USB port to access the internet on all XP machines.
We now have a Windows 7 box, trying to do the exact same connections.
The wired connection works fine but cuts out whenever the USB connection is made. The USB connection works whether the wired connection is connected or not.
Is there some kind of special setting that needs to be set up in 7? Is this maybe an ICS issue?
Please help, thanks.

A:USB network connection disconnecting NIC

Wow, not feeling the love here, lol.
Here is some more info.
The wireless adapter is a Netgear WG111 v3 attached to a Netgear WGR614 v10.
The PC is an HP p6516f running Windows 7 Home Premium.
The internal NIC card works fine untill I hook up the wireless adapter, then it cuts out but remains active as far as ipconfig /all shows?
Any ideas oh tech gurus?

Alright this is going to be long and complicated with no punctuation's it is currently 12am I been working on this sense 5pm I googled I've ask expects now I am here. First it started with Obs (open broadcast source ) that it would start disconnecting at random times the disconnecting was very inconsistent. what I discovered was my usb cable that acts as a wifi adpater for my xbox one controller was reading as a extra Ethernet port. so whenever obs disconnected it was trying to connect to the empty Ethernet port which was the xbox adapter. I unpluged the adapter so it would stop trying to connect to it. Then all hell broke loose and its been 7 hours..... So first I am running windows 10 I have tried hard resetting soft resetting completely rebutting from a usb, and every time the connection seems stable I do the finally test obs THEN it reverts back to disconnecting ever 22 seconds even typing this I have to stop and wait for it to reconnect. I have uninstalled network drivers installed news ones I made sure the Ethernet port is secured. I keep troubleshooting from windows but as soon as the trouble shooting loads it has already reconnected so windows cannot find a problem OBS is the main cause but not the problem because obs is a instant disconnect but it stills disconnect regardless.
