Age Of Mythology Alpha Expired

Q: Age Of Mythology Alpha Expired

i've installed AOM on Vista.. but i when i try to play it says alpha version expired.. can any body help??

Preferred Solution: Age Of Mythology Alpha Expired

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

We have a very important client who when they attempt to mail a user on our domain irregularly get's bounce backs with the message:

#550 4.4.7 QUEUE.Expired; message expired ##

The client in question does not appear to have issues mailing anyone else on our domain or any other. I receive all E-mail they send to me. The user here also has no other issues with his mail. As I said, the issue occurs irregularly: some days it's fine, others it's not.

Does anyone know if this is an issue our end or theirs please?

A:550 4.4.7 QUEUE.Expired; message expired

I did a Google search for 550 4.4.7 QUEUE.Expired and most of the found pages seem to suggest the problem is most likely with Microsoft Exchange Server on the sending end.

Recently installed Age of Mythology. The game seems to have installed a program that I am unfamiliar with:
MSXML4 Parser
Is this part of the game's muliplayer program and does it always install it? What is it for?
Thanks for any info

A:Age of Mythology

I don't really know about Age of Mythology, but XML is a markup language (like HTML which is what web pages are made of)

XML is used for many things, but one of it's big uses is as a way of standarizing data storage and database interfaces.

A parser is a program (or part of a program) that reads through a file and extracts the information in that file so it can be used.

MSXML would be "Microsoft XML"

I would guess that Age of Mythology uses XML formatting of some kind to store and/or send information. The parser would then be what knows how to read those XML files to extract information relevant to the game.

Anyone else know more? Correct me if I'm wrong.

I have been playing Age of Mythology since it came out. I stopped playing it for a week or so and then all of the sudden I got the same problem as you. There are no words anywhere but it still plays fine. If you found a solution to the problem please tell me because I have done all the thing Microsoft suggested and I still donít have any words. I know the problems is with my computer because I tried to install it with my friends disk and there where know words still. This is all that Microsoft had to offer.

Since it's Microsoft, it may be in the registry. There are programs around like Adia32 (or something like that) that will search the registry and find all your id numbres.

Alright, I dunno if this should be under networking or games, but we'll start here. First off, I've been to the Microsoft help site, and AoM help site, but it's rather vague and not much of a help. Their answer to most stuff is 'Contact your local network administrator.'

Anyway, I have a AMD Duron 1.3 ghz running Windows XP, and I have it networked with AMD K6 550 running Windows 98. The two computers can see each other just fine, I can move files back and forth, and I play other games with the two computers (Diablo II, Pod Racer). I have the XP machine host the game, and the Windows 98 machine can find the game, but when it tries to actually join the game, it tries to connect and counts down from 120 seconds, and fails.

MS says the following ports need to be open:
Initial UDP Connection 6073 Outbound for Joining 6073 Inbound for Hosting
Subsequent UDP Inbound 2300-2400 2300-2400
Subsequent UDP Outbound 2300-2400 2300-2400

I don't believe they are closed, but I am not sure how to check.
First, how do I check those ports on the XP machine and the 98 machine?
Second, any ideas other than that?

Also, make sure you have the latest updates for your modem.

Hi. This is driving me insane!!! First off, I have almost NO idea how to do all this tech stuff, so please try to simplify it as much as possible. I have Windows Vista and have installed AoM at least 2-3 times before and it worked PERFECTLY. But just today, after getting a strange feeling to play it, I tried installing it. It installed fine, then I installed the expansion pack and it installed fine. Then, when I tried to play it, it showed the beginning cutscene then it blacked out and went back to my desktop and said that MXSML 4.0 is not installed correctly (not sure if that's exactly what it said, but that's what it meant) So after googling to find out what the heck that is, I downloaded one of them that seemed most likely to work and everything went smoothly and it immediately updated to 4.0. Then, when I tried to play, it did the same thing . I tried rebooting the computer, updating the game, reinstalling the game, uninstalling then installing again. NOTHING worked . I'm completely stumped. Please help me!

Okay I've been searching ways to play Age of Mythology online through Direct IP/LAN using Hamachi(not the online version through ESO) I've followed the guide at http://www.cynicsunlimited.com/2007/06/30/tutorial-internet-gaming-with-age-of-mythology-and-hamachi/ till the end. But what next? I've installed Hamachi on both PC's to be used for multiplayer gaming. I have the Hamachi addresses on both machines. Also, when I try to host a game from either of the two computers, the game does detect both the addresses: my actual IP address as well as the Alternate address(given by Hamachi). However, the client does not seem to be able to detect the hosted game.

Once a game had been hosted on one PC, I did this from the other PC:
Multiplayer>LAN/Direct IP>(entered some nickname). In the Type a direct IP field, I entered the Alternate address(or the Hamachi address). Yet after the 15 sec timeout, the hosted game is not visible and I simply receive a message: Could not join a game at the given address. Please try another.

What could be wrong? Many guys seem to have been able to play multiplayer successfully using the aforementioned guide. Where'm I going wrong?

Hi all

I recently bought Age of Mythology Gold edition - one of those cheap 'ubisoft exclusive' versions - at EB.

i installed it onto one computer i own and it works fine. however, on the other, the disc does not run at all. the disc drive doesn't even hum like it does when you put any sort of other disc in.

when i opened up D drive in my computer it registered as blank.

right clicking allowed me an option of writing something to the disc, which makes no sense at all.

I have previously installed AoM on this computer with a library copy, and didn't uninstall it, which might make a difference? the library copy worked i'm pretty sure.

Hello all.
First post here, hopefully someone can offer some help.

Firstly, I am not a frequent gamer nor do I have much more than basic knowledge of computers-- hence the reason I am here.
If any info is needed about my machine, etc. in order for you to provide assistance, I will do my best to provide it. However, I would appreciate it if the technical talk could be laid out in layman's terms.

A long time ago I tried to install Age of Mythology on my computer (HP G60 purchased last year).
I am running windows vista 32 bit.

There was a problem with the installation and it was interrupted and could not be completed. I had to restart my computer.
When I try to reinstall the game, I get the prompt asking for permission. But when I click "allow," the disc spins for a moment, then stops, and nothing happens.

I've been searching for a long time for a solution, but could not find any specific to my problem. I eventually gave up, but figured I'd give a computer tech forum a shot.

There are no program files that I know of that are installed, and the game does not appear in the install/uninstall programs list.

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

His son recently installed Age of Mythology (not Titans or anything, just the "regular" one I guess) on his HP laptop which is running Windows Vista Home Basic or Premium (I forget which) with SP2 applied. His son can play online games just fine. This laptop has a wireless connection to the same Belkin B wireless router.

The problem: if BOTH my friend AND his son try to play Age of Mythology online at the same time, only ONE of them can actually play and the other times out trying to connect to the Age of Mythology network server. If my friend is playing a game, his son will get the timeout. If his son is playing a game, he will get the timeout.

I'm thinking there's probably a router issue involved but I'm not sure how to troubleshoot this.

Any ideas? Is it possible to run two or more copies of Age of Mythology on different computers and have them play online games through a router concurrently?

Additionally, when my friend plays Age of Mythology his son can play Xbox 360 online games at the same time without problems. In fact, they often play online games at the same time as long as his son is playing his Xbox 360 while he plays Age of Mythology on his PC.

I cannot get the game Age of Mythology to install on my new laptop. I have tried several times to get it to run using the Compatability Mode in the control Panel, but everytime it comes up with an error. It says that the windows installer found an error and the program is closing.

Looking through the threads I see that other people have had problems with this game and VIsta, but they were able to install it at least. Did anyone have this problem when trying to install it? Am I missing something small here?

When wanting to go on-line and play muliplayer Age of Mythology via my Apple iMac [Intel chip, latest version of 10.4], and then be able to chat with others, even those using PC's, how is such done?

Boys are wanting to play this game w/ classmates, and at the moment are stymied - http://www.gameranger.com/ seems to be most recommended [even by Apple http://www.apple.com/games/gettingstarted/multiplayer/index2.html], but have seen some not so positive reviews about it.

Other somewhat troubling part IMHO is that on its own website, it doesn't look as if its been updated since March 2007, v. 4.6.7; yet another site [http://mac.softpedia.com/get/Games/GameRanger.shtml] has it as a later version: 4.8.1 [and w/ just 'fair' review].
