I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I bought a pc recently and installed windows xp professional. For some reason there has been flickering lines on my monitor down the screen especially noticeable on white backgrounds and powerpoint presentations. The problem is not with the monitor because I checked by connecting my pc with a friends monitor and the same problem occurred with his monitor even though its fine with his pc.

I have tried to update graphics card driver and even re-formatted hardrive and intsalled windows from scratch but it hasn't solved the problem.

Please help me for I have almost tried everything I could.

I recently purchased a Dell Computer. Periodically and randomly, sepia-colored flickering horizontal lines appear on the screen. It looks like static for a few seconds then disappears. Sometimes it covers almost 100% of the screen. I called the Dell Cust. Service line. They confidently suggested it was because my cell phone was near the monitor. I moved the phone, but the problem continues. I have not called them back because they didn't seem very willing to suggest other potential causes/fixes.

I found info. on the Net suggesting to adjust the refresh rate -- which I did. I raised it from 75 to 85. It seemed to help for a little while but may have been just coincidental. The problem continues.

Any experiences, ideas or potential solutions would be very appreciated. Thank you.

A:Monitor Flickering Horizontal Lines

You give no details of the monitor type, which makes it difficult to help, but we could assume a CRT type monitor from the refresh rates I suppose..

Intermittent problems such as this are certainly not going to be related to the reresh rates.

It really does sound like cellular phone type interference, a cellphone "phones home" every few minutes (random) to let the network know it is alive. This interference can affect a CRT monitor from several metres away.

Also any mains type appliance will affect a CRT monitor if it is within range of the magnetic field produced, as will any radio frequency device (but that range can be very large).

I've been using a ASUS GeForce 7800 GTX with the latest drivers and a Sony SDM HS95P LCD monitor with the DVI connection and whenever I play CounterStrike: Source there's an intermitted flickering of a white line across the row of pixels in the rop right corner of my screen. I've googled around and haven't been able to find any topics on this. Just checking to see if anyone knows a solution to this problem.

A:Flickering White Lines - Top right of monitor

The exact problem was raised on (I think) this forum about 2 months ago.
It appeared to be a bug in the digital mapping between graphics card and screen, and I don't think there was a cure found.

Some astute searching may find the post, it currently eludes me.

I'm experiencing ghostly, faint grey lines flickering up and down my screen. They aren't very visible, and after a while you don't notice them, but I'm pretty sure they must be rather bad for one's eyesight.

Any idea what gives?

My monitor's refresh rate already configured to 85mhz.

A:flickering ghostly grey lines across monitor

Sounds like possible interference from some other device ( be that speakers , wireless lan..etc..), monitor cable close to some electromagnetic source, bad monitor cable/connection, video card problem or the monitor is just dying
So check and see if the monitor cable/connector is ok. Check for possible devices that might be close to the monitor or cable thus giving interference. Boot windoze in SAFE mode and see if you still have the same problem. If you don't start to look like some windoze/ video driver problem.

Hiya Everyone... sorry to bother you with this problem, but it has stumped My Friends and I already >_<.

Currently, my monitor has lines about 15 pixels long and 1 pixel wide that flicker across the entire screen. If I turn up the Gamma and Brightness.. they sometimes go away. The light colors, like the light blue or white on this site, have very few lines, while the dark colors, such as my gray and black theme in windows xp, they nearly cover the entire space. (just for an example, in 1600x1200, the window under the URL bar in internet explorer has around 100-200 lines flickering at a time, while the gray space above it has around 300-400 and the task bar has around 200-300)

Now for the trouble shooting. I have tried the monitor on 4 computers total (2 desktops, 2 laptops) and the flickering is there on every computer (yes, it also is flickering during the bios boot up, and when the OSD is on). I have tried 4 different video cards on this computer also, (GF2 mx200, GF4 mx440, GF fx5900, and GF fx5900u) and the lines are on every card, so i am pretty sure its the monitor thats the problem ^^. I have tried to see if it is maybe some sort of interference from magnets or the sort, (i turned on and off moire protection, moved the speakers and sub-woofer, connected to a different power circuit, as well as moved my computer about 7-8 feet away) but it doesn't look like that is the problem either. I have replaced the power cord, as well as moved the 15 pin cable around,... Read more

A:Monitor Problem-> Black Lines Flickering

Yup, your problem probably breaks down into two possible general sources.

First action degauss the monitor. Wait 30 minutes, degauss again. Also give a couple good smacks on the side and top with your hand. If the cause is bad solder joints or loose connectors usually will see an effect.

First reason:

1. Something external, probably noise from some source being impressed on the AC power and affecting the video. Can be a huge number of things, doesn't even have to be in your apartment. Things like the power wiring itself, appliances, lights, stray RF, can be a huge list, including the cat in high voltage mode, nearby radio transmitters, etc. etc.

First test:

Take the monitor to somebody else's house totally away from your location and hook up and see if the problem follows. This test should determine if it is in the environment or in the monitor. The more remote from your location the better, hopefully a house with no known problems.

Second reason:

2. If problem follows after test one, the problem is internal to the monitor and basically if under warranty they would owe you a new monitor. Can be a bunch of causes, more than likely more related to cheap manufacturer. The monitor can generate interference within itself, similar to "hum bars", could be flyback, retrace, CRT itself, power supply related. You may be able to adjust it away for a while but smart move is to demand another.

If moving the monitor to another location clears up the problem the... Read more

I have a 19' Acer LCD Flat Panel widescreen and I turned it on this morning and it randomly started flickering with these horizontal lines or "bars" scrolling down the screen. It wont stop no matter what program is opened even though it shows up more on a black background than a white one.

Thanks for any help in advance.

A:monitor randomly has scrolling flickering horizontal lines, please help!

First thing, does this occur as soon as you turn the machine on or only when you log into Windows (assuming your running windows)?

Check all the external cabling first, make sure they are all securely connected etc. Also check internal cabling and remove and reseat the graphics card (if it is an add on card) and re-test.

I purchased a new Z27s monitor on Amazon 9 months ago.  One week ago, after a scan with Avast, the lower half of the screen started flickering and I have horozontal black lines across the entire display.  It clears up for a few minutes once in a while but overall, it's a banded, flickering mess.  I've used Avast since I purchased the monitor so I don't think it would suddenly cause problems, but I could be wrong. I've tried pluging it directly in the wall instead of a strip, using an outlet that's not on the same breaker, removing all phones, turning off nearby networking/wifi devices, hooking it up to a different computer to make sure it wasn't my GPU, using a different hdmi cable and using different hdmi ports.  Nothing helps.  Does anyone know what the problem might be?Also, when I checked out the HP warranty,  I found the product number is not associated with the serial number.  I'm wondering if that means I have counterfeit equipment.

Hi all,

I just got a brand new Asus VH236H monitor from Newegg. Pulled it out of the box, set it up on my desk, plugged it in, connected it to my laptop (Acer Aspire 6920), and all was good. That was about 6 hours ago.

Now, I'm seeing horizontal flickering lines all over the screen. Some are thin lines, others are thick bands. They're constantly moving up and down the whole display. Did some research, and seems like when this happens, it happens on all inputs. But the funny thing is, for me the flickering lines are only visible when in VGA mode. When I switch to HDMI (my Playstation 3), all is well. No lines anywhere in sight. Unfortunately, I don't have any DVI devices to also check that input.

I've checked all the resolution/refresh rate options given to me, and they're set to the recommended Asus values (1920x1080, 60Hz).

Can anyone tell me if this is a defect with the monitor, or if I need to find some advanced setting somewhere, and change that.

EDIT: A friend of mine told me to unplug my laptop from its power-charger. And it worked. No more scrolling lines.
So what do I do now? I can't run my laptop without charging it, but while its charging, the monitor picks up interference from the power cables.

EDIT2: Just tried running my laptops power cable to a different outlet, and that didn't help.

The problem is a consistent one.  I get a teal colored shading (which is stable) over some parts of the screen and flickering narrow white horizontal lines on some images.  It doesn't matter what the medium is (video, image, desktop). The monitor tests fine.  The problem started without warning and I made no changes to the computer before it started. The only occurrences which might be responsible were a series of power outages we had while the computer was running.  I never really noticed if the problem started right after that or not. Since then I have replaced the CPU, the video card and the HDMI cable.  I also flashed the BIOS in case that got corrupted.  None of these fixed the problem. It's not overheating...CPU and GPU both running in the 40's Celsius.  The RAM passes all memory tests.  Is it possibly the power supply?  I've had them go out before but this wasn't what happened before they did.  Does anyone have an idea?

You did not say what OS or Dell Model.  Video artifacts like that are a sign of GPU overheating.

My old GForce GT9600 512 MB was doing fine. Everything was fine, and no flickering lines on screen. Though, the other socket (left side) has an issue, and there were flickering lines, but I don't plug it. Oh, I am using DVI monitor, and the brand is AOC.

I wanted to buy something newer and faster one. So I bought PALIT GT440 1GB GDDR5. But there's a problem:

-Flickering lines on screen annoy the heck out of me.
-In deviantART, flickering lines appear browsing at dA's homepage, gallery folders, and some pages.
-In Google Chrome, by clicking the "new tab." Flickering lines appear again. (I'm using Pinkie Pie theme. Hey, are you a brony too?)
-Sometimes, flickering lines appear everywhere.
-I think, flickering lines will appear on some websites or maybe more. (And I don't like it).
-all of above, it went black screen for 0.5-2 seconds. And sometimes it went faster to get black screen like 0.5-1 seconds.

Unlike, the GForce GT9600 has the same sockets (Both are DVI but different functions. Left socket has an issue, and the right socket does not). While the newer one I bought has an issue, though it got DVI, VGA, and HDMI. And I don't even have a VGA adaptor.

How do I get rid of these annoying lines on my screen? I don't want black screen and it won't let me see their pictures! Do I need to get a better adaptor, or VGA adaptor, or something?

So please, oh please, reply me back, and tell me what to do!

For quite some time now (Well over a couple of years) I've noticed small flickering black horizontal lines on my monitor usually coming out of the bottom-right hand side of the screen (Sometimes top-right). But they're not just lines. It's more like a graphical artifact. The line actually looks like dots, and it flickers until it starts getting shorter and vanishes (The movement of the line kind of reminds me of Snake). It doesn't always happen but often does happen on YouTube, seemingly exacerbated by scrolling.

I tried taking a screenshot of it, but it doesn't show up on screenshots.

The monitor is a Hanns-G LCD (28"). I wouldn't be overly surprised if the monitor is faulty as I've not been able to wake the monitor up from sleeping for years (I have to physically turn it off and then on).

A:Flickering Horizontal Lines

If the problem doesn't show up in a screen shot it is a problem with either the monitor or the video cable usually. Also having to manually wake the monitor up from sleep points to a monitor problem.

Hi there,Most likley the problem is going to be caused by either the screen cable been loose or broken, the inverter behind the screen or backlight. The only way to really tell is to take the laptop apart to find out. If your in warranty I advise you return it to HP for repair, Alternatively take it to a local IT repair shop. Many thanks,James

Hi, I am not having this problem myself. My mate is and I'm trying to get it fixed for him. His PC will freeze and a whole bunch of lines will go through the screen flickering while a loud noise buzzes. I have heard it may be a memory problem but I want to be sure before I tell him to take ram sticks out.
I have attached a few pictures that he sent me that might explain to you guys what is happening.

Sorry for the delay in responding, there's only a few people who help out in these forums.
Do you still need assistance?
This seems to be a video problem rather than a RAM problem.
The first thing to do is to check and see if there's dirt/dust clogging the system (if it's a laptop) and checking the video cooler if it's a desktop.
Presuming it's a laptop, use canned air (DO NOT use an air compressor or a vacuum cleaner as they can damage the system) to blow out all the vents.
Also, be sure that the fan is working.
Next, monitor the temps using this free utility:  http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html
Let us know the readings when the screen starts to have problems.
Finally, you can test a lot of the system with these free hardware diagnostics:  http://www.carrona.org/hwdiag.html
Good luck!

When I'm running any game and the camera starts to move decently fast, there are horizontal flickering lines (usually 2 or 3 visible, always in the upper half of the screen). Then when the movement stops, the lines disappear. I've tried troubleshooting and messing with the refresh rate, for I thought initially that the problem had to do with that, but to no avail.

My LCD projector (Dell 2300mp) has 8 alternating light blue and green lines evenly spaced, which flicker quickly, in its projected image. This came out of nowhere. The projector has not been bumped, dropped, nor have the settings been changed. When I first turn the projector on, there is a white screen with the Dell logo and it shows the different power connection cords that has no lines on it. Then is moves to a blue screen that says "searching for source" and that is where the lines start appearing. Any ideas? What does this mean, and how can I fix it? Thanks!

My name is Todd and I'm with Dell's online outreach program. I have a quick question, does this happen with any system its connected to or does it also happen if tested with a different system?

If its happening all the time, with the projector connected to different systems, then my guess would be that the projector itself would need to be replaced.

Let me know if you've tried it with another system or not. I'll stop back later and check to see what else we can do to help.

Hello,I just bought a new Pavilion dv6 (LW272UA#ABC) ten days ago and I've noticed that after the screen turns off due to inactivity, or because I close the lid to let the notebook sleep, two to three horizontal white lines flicker on and off  at the top of the screen every few seconds until I restart the computer. Should I be worried ? Should I ask for a replacement from the store tomorrow or should I wait to see if the problem becomes worse or until HP/NVIDIA release a driver update ?

A:Horizontal flickering lines on dv6 screen

I exchanged that one on aug 17, 2011 to my local best buy for the same exact laptop. yesterday this new system starting doing the same thing. glad to know im not the only one, any help would be great. I dont believe the issue is with the graphics card because I have a raedon and constantin has a nvidia. however I have noticed that the problem is more severe when I have something in fullscreen. so maybe it is in the programming, but I feel like its a hardware issue. Thanks in advance ?

Hi Amrradwan ,
Welcome to the Community Forums.
Since the issue would be intermittent , next time that it would happen to best take a picture of the image and likewise try to connect it with an external monitor to check if the same issue would appear.
I would stilll recommend that you call in this issue for documentation purpose and further reference in the future , You may consult tech support for an action plan for this event .

I have just bought an expensive HP 2 in 1 lap top (15 inch Envy x360) and having set it all up I have found that about 80% of the time the screen displays flickering white dotted lines, usually vertical about an inch apart.  These are not continuous lines, but rather they are rapidly flickering very small dots - a bit like a pinstripe suit but more erratic.  When I am working on a white background (e.g. while writing this post) I cannot see it, but on a dark background e.g. watching a film or when opening the start meny, it is noticeable.   It is just about tolerable, but very irritating and is I think giving me a headache.   I have tried projecting to my TV as an external monitor and the problem persists, so it must be a lap top hardware or a software fault.   Does anyone have any tips as to whether and if so how I can put this right from home myself?  Please note whilst I have been using computers for c. 25 years I am not an IT techie so plain English would be helpful in any replies!  Many thanks all and Happy New Year.

I am completely baffled by this one. My AIO 700-27ISH (UHD resolution) has recently started showing flickering horizontal lines on the display. This has happended about a week after upgrading to Windows 10 2017 Fall Creators Update. In troubleshooting the problem, i first checked the Windows 10 Device Manager, and all was listed as working properly. Then I scanned for malware and found none. Then I updated all of my video card drivers (Intel HD 530 and NVIDIA 950A) and still no joy. I also did a Lenovo Solution Center hardware scan that came back with no issues. Then I unplugged the unit and then plugged it back in after 5 mins, and still saw horizontal flickering lines. Finally, I hooked up a UHD TV to the computer via the HDMI-Out port, and the display on the TV had no flickering or lines, while the computer display continued to show lines. This lead me to conclude that perhaps the display itself was faulty. However, I just did some online diagnostics on the Lenovo Support site, and there were no faults identified for the display. Since my computer is out of warranty, I'd like to do what I can before spending big bucks on chasing down and rectifying the problem. However, I'm out of thoughts on how to proceed next. The only driver I have not updated is the driver for the display itself. I've been really satisfied with my X230T, and It has accompanied me on a round the world adventure and it's been through quite a bit and we've bonded pretty well.
Problem Description
It's still functioning fine however the left 1/5th section of the screen has begun to uncontrollably flicker in a variety of colors and sometimes just goes completely dark. This issue unfortunately came up about two months after my warranty expired when I was in the middle of China traveling.
Here are a few pictures of the flickering/lines of color that come up.

Problem Isolation
Seeing as the problem fluctuates and worsens/gets better depending on screen position and movement, I'm 99.9% it's a hardware problem. After taking apart the laptop and playing around with connectors I'm pretty sure it's the LCD cable (FRU 04W1775), which I've ordered a $10 replacement from eBay.

I was wondering if anyone else has run into similar problems and whether they had a different solution or if the problem was more related to the LCD panel/LCD cable port. I do not fancy the notion of replacing the LCD Panel as it essentially costs as much as buy... Read more

A:X230T Screen flickering/lines problem

I believe it is not the cable. When the screen is assembled, the logic circuits connect to the rows and columns of LCDs (row and column drivers) with a contact tape that has one contact per line of pixels. Your tape has delaminated along the bottom. I have never been successful in fixing this problem on any screen.  Pressure along the tape makes temporary contact.  You probably need a new screen. You are certainly welcome to change the cable, since you bought one, although it is a pain to get the wires run correctly.  I have a couple of screens here and I have been buying tablets having bad screens on eBay, so if you decide you want to sell yours for a down payment on a new one, send me a pm.  Sorry

Dear. X1 carbon users. I got a brand new X1 carbon 3rd gen and update to windows 10.But when I scroll up/down or move images, vertical lines are flickering all over the screen. Also, I can see these vertical lines flickering at the wall paper with gradations.I am not sure this is one of hardware problems because I update windows 10 righr after I got this.I updated recent intel graphics driver and all drivers using 'lenovo pc experience'.(Actually I tried to instal newest driver on intel website but failed because this is not a manufacturer's version.)Please let me know how I can fix this. Thank you.

Hello. I have the same problem.  Do you have a solution? Or you keep the problem I downloaded from Intel the graphics card drivers and the same problem like you. Please let me know how I can fix this.

Not sure if I'm posting in the correct place.

I'm sure this has been 'fixed' before, as I've read a lot of threads on this however none have worked for me.

Most of the cases in other threads the laptop has been 'a few years old' and the people in question don't seem entirely tech savvy, which isn't the case for me.

I have had this laptop for a whole 3 or 4 days and since opening it, it has been flickering frequently enough on a daily basis for me to realise something is wrong, but not enough that it is annoying. That is until today.

I've noticed that the flickering happens more often when Youtube is open, needless to say that closing it doesn't stop the flickering it simply slows down the rate from once every few minutes to once every few hours. Sometimes on pages that are heavily laden with graphics, lines will appear across the screen and it wont necessarily flicker to black as it usually does.

Just to prove this to myself, I opened a youtube video to see if anything had actually changed and I wasn't being paranoid, well the second I opened it the screen flickered to black with a white line through it. The video itself flickers with lines, rather than the space around it and the screen itself flickers black in bursts. It's closer to a 'blink' rather than a flicker, it is about half a second long.
There are only two programs on this laptop that weren't pre-packaged and that is Skype and... Read more

A:Acer Aspire ES 15 Flickering Screen/Lines

I would uninstall Chrome and Skype then see if the same problems remain. If not then it's the software but if they remain I would get it replaced or get a refund as it seems to be faulty.

EDIT : I'm surprised it's showing as a PNP Monitor, might be worth updating the Graphics driver with the latest from Acer.

My computer crashes without an error message but the screen is blue and there are white flickering lines. It only happens when I play games. I used the SF debug tool and I've attached the output hoping someone with knowledge on this can tell me what's going on.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

This clearly indicates to an issue with your GPU.

on my 26" samsung LCD tv, which i use as a moniter.. when i move things around those white boxes in the screenshot appear, it seems as if the screen is ripping apart... also white/red/blue lines keep flickering all over the place on the monitor, especially on dark colours... whats wrong?

A:White/Red/Blue Lines flickering and other problems

Try taking your Graphics Card out if possible, if it works when you take that out then get it replaced either if its under warranty or buying a new one.

If that doesn't solve the problem try using a different Monitor, if this Monitor works then obviously get your Monitor replaced by Samsung

I bought my XPS 15 9550 two weeks ago, suddenly the screen started to flicker and it's showing horizontal white/black horizontal lines , I tried to update my drivers, tried to reset my laptop to initial settings, it didn't work.

My system:
DELL XPS 15 Laptop 9530
Windows 8.1
About three weeks after I purchased this machine, flickering horizontal lines began appearing across the screen.  They are transparent, a little less than 1cm in height and traverse the whole width of the screen.  Each line is separated from the next by about a quarter of the screen height.  There are three of them currently and they always appear at the same height on the screen.  They are barely noticeable on a white background but can be prominent and annoying on dark backgrounds or photos etc.
Have run all the diagnostic protocols on the DELL website – everything working perfectly.
Not sure whether this is a hardware or software problem.
Any help appreciated.

A:Flickering horizontal lines always on screen (XPS 15 9530)

Hi ,
Thank you for writing to the Dell Community Forum .
In this case do confirm if you have performed these steps and advise ,
*Have you checked the system's performance in safe mode ,because safe mode uses very minimal drivers and graphics if the issue is seen in safe mode then its a hardware issue.
*What happens when an external monitor is connected to the system ?If the lines are not seen on the external screen then the system board works fine  .
*Have you tried to initiate LCD BIST ( by restarting the system and pressing the D-Key on startup ,solid colours should be visible clearly if the test passes )
*May I know how were the diagnostics initiated on the system.
Hoping to hear from you soon with the service tag of the system (send it via private message only ) so that I can check the specifications of the system .
Kindest Regards ,

Hi, I have recently updated my laptop with Win10 x64 Pro and all was working fine, I have the latest drivers, no other conflicts in Device Manager. This started recently may be 4 days back, in the middle of work, suddenly horizontal or vertical lines appear, it keeps flickering, when I restart, this is from very start, some times, it goes away on its own and sometimes I have to hit laptop body randomly anywhere and screen comes back. There is no set pattern or trigger, jus random, I have attached the screen image here. Any Advice would be appreciated.  Random lines in display?

it looks like your hard drive has gone bad. i have a Y70 touch. i have upgraded to windows 10 3 times in the past year and each time the hard drive has gone bad shortly afterwards. although my screen flickers were not nearly as bad as yours, they were very annoying until the hard drive completely died the first 2 times. this last time i knew what was happening and was able to catch the problem before the hard drive completely failed. i had windows 10 installed without all the extra lenovo and other manufacturer programs that i didn't need and weren't compatible with windows 10. i never tried rolling back the system but i was told it wouldn't have helped at the point when the hard drives had failed.

I have an XPS 15 for work that suddenly started showing strange visual artifacts on the screen during normal use.
The bottom half of the screen flickers and shows colored lines when moving the mouse across the affected area. I've already tried the Dell monitor test and updating relevant drivers.
Any help would be appreciated, I didn't find much discussion of this exact issue.

Just today,i noticed some strange flickering lines appearing on the corner of my screen. And after sometimes , these lines are spreading to other areas of the screen.

I have tried removing any metallic or magnetic objects near my screen.Since , that causes these lines sometimes near the screens. But no luck.

I tried attaching a small video that i made of these lines with my cell but seven forums won't let me attach

So , now i have attached a picture (which is not going to be enough to understand , perhaps).

Kindly guide me what to do.Is it my HDTV or does it has something to do with my RIG's graphics card or something else...

hi have you tried connecting the tv to another source like a blu-ray player to see if the line are still their. if they are and you used a different cable then i would say it's the tv.

I own a Dell Inspiron 15 5559. This problem has been going on for about 12 days or so now. Every once in a while my laptop will flicker these colors of purple, black, and white. It seems to have gotten a bit worse lately. Here is an example of my problem in this video. I have updated my drivers, and run a diagnostics program from the DELL site. All leaving me with nothing. Saying no problems were detected.
I  do wonder if it's possible it could be an issue with my charger? I have been using a charger I had to order from amazon that didn't come with my laptop. I decided to order an extra one of the exact same to keep upstairs so I don't have to keep taking this charger everywhere with me. I'm not sure if that would be a cause or not.

A:Lap top flickering black, purple and white vertical lines.

Run the LCD built in self test (hold D through powerup).  If you don't see the artifacts, it means the screen is OK.
In that case, check and/or replace the wiring harness that runs between the mainboard and display panel.  If that doesn't solve the problem, replace the mainboard.
If you DO see the fault on the LCD test, replace the screen.
While a third-party charger has its drawbacks (won't charge the battery), it won't cause the video artifacts.
