I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

After a clean install of Win 10 Home, I tried to reinstall the Yoga Mode Control driver from here: http://support.lenovo.com/ca/en/products/Laptops-and-netbooks/Yoga-Series/yoga-900-13isk2/80UE/005KC... The install ends without error, but does not confirm success either. The app does not appear to install.  This same thing happens with Lenovo Utility.

Hello All, I have an issue with my YOGA 700 laptop when logged in multiple accounts simultaneously. Whenever an account is left logged on and the user is switched as opposed to logging off, the cpu usage ramps up very high with several RUNDLL32 processes being the culprit. I have checked the RUNDLL32 processes with Process Explorer and the command line are as follows:C:\Windows\system32\rundll32.exe C:\ProgramData\LenovoTransition\Server\x64\EnableAutoRotation.dll,RunCustomMonitor The directory is as follows: C:\ProgramData\LenovoTransition\Server\x64\ The only solution I have found is restarting the laptop. The problems comes back when again more than one user is logged in. Also, the rundll32 processes only run high cpu on one account at a time and there doesn't seem to be a preference for a specific account, all of them are plagued one at a time with the problem. Disabling the Yoga Mode Control service is a fix but that breaks the mode control which is essential in this laptop. I have tried installing all the available software on the Software page foor the YOGA 700. The rundll32 processes drain the battery very fast and I can't always log off other users when they have apps open!  I have posted a screenshot of process explorer showing 2 rundll32.exe processes using 25% cpu usage each. However, sometimes up to 4 rundll32.exe processes open up and they use combined 100% cpu usage, which makes the laptop run very hot and slow. In t... Read more

Hey. I bought my Yoga 520-14IKB (Intel Core i5, 8GB RAM, 256gb NVMe SSD, GeForce 940MX) 2 month ago, had no problems, till last week. Now sometimes i experience such a strange behaviour. Mainly i work on my laptop in normal mode, and sometimes, during such work, it can false trigger a tablet mode for a few (2-3) seconds (notification appers), which causes the keyboard to switch off for this time, despite the fact, that it still stands as a normal laptop, not even close to position, which triggers the yoga mode. How can i fix this? System is Windows 10 April 2018 Update, have all the latest drivers and latest version of BIOS.

HiWhen a second user is logged on to my yoga 900 the cpu goes from 2-3% to about 30% and stays there. The fan spins up and makes more noise than acceptable. After disabling the service yoga mode control it does not happen anymore but it's a  pity to have to do without it. I have everything updated (windows 10 and bios) including the latest version of yoga mode control I can find: version 1.0.0.9 Is there a fix to this?

It's so annoying and I'd like to know if there's anything I can do about it. It mostly occurs when I'm playing games but it's just SO loud something seems off. Does anyone know what I can do about this?

I just bought a yoga 910.  One of the first things I did was upgrade the windows 10 home to windows 10 pro.  Anyway, the screen brightness hot buttons don't seem to be doing anything.  Also, adjusting screen brightness through display settings also doesn't do anything.  Can someone tell me if there is something wrong with my machine or is this caused by windows 10 pro? Thanks

Hello! The Yoga 900 is my first Lenovo PC. I had recently owned the HP Spectre x360 i7 Skylake, QHD in Ash Siver. It is truly a beautiful machine, most of all in Ash Silver. I ended up returning it and going with the Yoga 900. My reasons where: The Spectre is heavier and a bit thicker than the Yoga, which makes for a not so nice tablet experience. The Spectre, also gets too warm and sometimes too hot, around the left palm rest area. These are all problems that I have not had with the Yoga 900 which has double the RAM, for $100.00 less than the Spectre model I had.  Okay, so with the Yoga 900, I have now been through 3 of them. 2 of them, had lint underneath the final coat of paint on the lid. On both, I didn't notice until a day or two after my purchase, when I ran my hand over the lid and felt small bumps as if grains of sand were stuck to the lid. Upon a closer look with a bright LED light; I noticed actual lint/hairs under the silver painted lid. Now with my third unit, the paint is lint-free but I have noticed something that I'm trying to figure out whether or not is normal. When the unit is closed, on the right side, I have noticed that the right side upper lid, sicks out further than the right side bottom section (bottom section as in where the power button is). Please let me know if your Yoga, is also uneven along the right side too. Thank you!

A:Yoga 900 Quality Control Questions

I have also had a "rough" experience with my yoga 900. I am now on my 3rd. The first had a very loose mouse pad and a few pieces of painted lint/hairs on the lid as you describe. It also had a weak backlight on the volume down key compared to the rest of the keyboard which was unfortunate. My second was worse, the entire bottom of the laptop was rough, almost like a fine sandpaper. The lid was much smoother like it is supposed to be. The mouse pad was even worse on the 2nd one as well. The backlight of the keyboard thankfully was perfect. Im a night owl so this small thing is surprisingly important. My significant other convinced me to return it due to the rough underside and bad mousepad, considering how much I paid for the system in the first place. Soooo, now I am on my 3rd Yoga 900, The paint is perfect, the trackpad is much better but on this one the backlight (same volume down key) on the keyboard has the same issue as the 1st laptop. I almost feel like maybe I should wait till all of the manufacturing issues are resolved. Love the form factor and specs but quality control does seem to be lacking atm.   Zachary

I have recently got a yoga x1 3rd gen as a tester unit for our company, however it's been fine except when using the usb c dock. The issues that I have are pretty intermittent and I'd like to see if there is a possible fix. The issue I have is when connected to the USB dock and having 2 monitors plugged in(both running off display port) the CPU is pretty much running at max frquency, which causes the cpu to run at 60-75C when not really doing anything with it just sitting idle. When unplugged it throttles back on frequency perfectly fine and never gets above 50C. The second issue is the dock itself locks up and cosntantly requires me to unplug and replug back in the dock to get peripherals to work again.  I have updated the bios on the laptop to the most recent (April 24th dated) and still having these issues.  Any help would be appreciated!

This is now my second Lenovo Yoga 720 13" that I recived from Best Buy. I returned the first one because I noticed the screen did not meet the rubber bezel at the top, exposing the inside of the monitor. This caused me to worry about dust and hair getting behind the screen and possibly destroying it. The second one has the same problem as well as many others. The power button on the first one clicked when I pressed it, however with this one there is no click and I must hold the laptop and press the power button all with more strength than a person should have to just to get it to turn the laptop on. Also the trackpad comes above the right side of the laptop where the left side rests below. There is also a strange rattling coming from the plastic peices at the bottom of the screen. Many of the keys on the keyboard stick at random points when I'm typing causing the keys to not type. Also many of the lights behind the keys are either burned out or extremely dim, now I find it hard to believe that they burned out from my using the laptop since it is fairly new. Lastly there is sharp metal sticking out on the right side of the laptop that often scratches me when I put it into tablet mode. I can still use the laptop, but I feel like I have to be overly careful with it because of all these issues. It is as if this laptop was never checked for defects before it was sent to Best Buy.

I am a very frustrated and angry customer at the moment as i keep running into Road Block and unacceptable answers.  This issue is enough to cause me to never buy another Lenovo laptop or any laptop at Best Buy!I bought my computer in July and in September i noticed a key had popped off-  the "< ," key next to the M key.  I have used the key board only when i was setting up-  now at my office and at customers i set it in downward dog mode ;-) and use a blue tooth key board.    So it is not from use that it broke.   I took the laptop into BEST BUY and was told that the key was missing a metal part on the back so they could not fix it onsite-  i would have to send it in and be without my laptop for a week to 10 days - unacceptable -  this was a month or more ago. I searched on the LENOVO website and could not find a way to purchase a single or the entire set of Keys!  I am self employed as a software consultant.   My life is pretty busy and i finally decided today to bite the bullet and ask for a call from Lenovo support.  Again i am told the only way to fix this is to send my laptop in for a repair.  I asked to just be able to buy a KEY - i am told that well they do not sell individual keys - they would replace the entire keyboard!  So sell me the keyboard and or send me one an i will take into best buy to have them replace it while i wait.  They cannot do that.   I live... Disclaimer: I received the Yoga 920 as a review loaner unit from Lenovo. All opinions are my own, nobody is paying for my review, and no one is reviewing this content before it's posted.

Left: Yoga 920 in Bronze. Right: Yoga 910 in Silver

On the surface, both the Yoga 910 and Yoga 920 look nearly identical, but in my testing, I prefer one over the other. Let's dig deeper to see the differences between the two!To get this out of the way, both machines have 1TB PCIe storage, 16GB memory, and the Yoga 910 has the 7th gen i7-7550U processor, and the Yoga 920 has the 8th gen i7-8550U processor.

Hardware & Design
Both the Yoga 910 and Yoga 920 are built out of aluminum, which gives them a high quality feel to them.  Both laptops have the keyboard integrated into the chassis, which means less keyboard flex. One thing that I find better in the Yoga 920 is the fact that it's all smooth edges around.  The Yoga 910 has pretty sharp edges which means you could scratch your surface or yourself.  The sharp edges of the Yoga 910 was a common complaint, and I'm glad they rectified it.

The Yoga 920 also has a little slit on the display lid that makes it much easier to open the lap... Read more

Hello Dws520Thanks for using the Lenovo forums. Was this the creators update?
If so, have a look on the following post, this should show if your device has been tested with the update yet:
https://support.lenovo.com/gb/en/solutions/ht503655

From what I can see, your unit does not seems to have made the list, which leads me to believe that this will be the cause of the issue, I would recommend that you revert back to the previous version of Windows, and observe if the fault still occurs or not.

Hope this helps, let us know how you get on.==================================================================================Did someone help you today? Thank them with a Kudo! If you find a post helpful and it answers your question, please mark it as an "Accepted Solution"!

I've been looking around and found a few people who are very displeased with the logo startup/boot logo (example1, example2), but no way to change it as of yet. Is it possible without too much hassle? I know it's not a big deal but the logo is simply terrible in so many ways. If nothing, then at least I'm raising awareness and maybe Lenovo will choose a better graphic designer for our collective startup screens. I mean, seriously? Is that the best you could come up with?

I have a S3 Yoga 14 with i5-4210U Haswell CPU & GeForce 840M (Model# 20DM000VUS). I've searched and searched for any solution to upgrade the memory to 16GB, but seems only the Broadwell version can...so I'm stuck with 8GB.  I already upgraded to a 1TB Evo 850 SSD which did boost overall speed a lot, but running out of memory all the time is driving me nuts. So my question is, is it possible to swap out the whole motherboard to a i5-5200U Broadwell version without any HW/SW conflict issues so I could upgrade to 16GB?  Or can you only swap for the exact same MB?  It'd be a lot cheaper than buying a whole new Yoga w/dedicated graphics such as the P40 and way less hassle as long as I wouldn't need to reinstall Windows and everything. Thanks!

Disclosure:  I received these laptops from Lenovo as part of their advocacy program, so huge thanks to the folks over at Lenovo. I don't receive compensation for my review, and as always, all opinions are my own.

The ThinkPad X1 Yoga is first modern ThinkPad that I've ever owned.  I?ve been using Lenovo?s Ideapad lineup for a very long time, and while I?ve used ThinkPads in the past, the X1 Yoga will be my first personal ThinkPad that I own.  So how does it stack up to the Yoga 910?  Let?s find out! I have the i7 UHD model of the Yoga 910 and the i5 FHD model of the ThinkPad X1 Yoga.  I tried out the latest Yoga 920, but I haven?t tried the latest X1 Yoga yet? hopefully, I will!

Hardware & Design
Even though both laptops carry ?yoga? in their name, the hardware behind them is vastly different.  The ThinkPad X1 Yoga has the classic ThinkPad black design, which is made of a carbon-fiber hybrid for the top cover and a magnesium-PPS hybrid for the bottom cover.  The Yoga 910 has a similar design from the Lenovo?s Yoga lineup, with an aluminum build throughout.

The ThinkPad only comes in two colors: classic black and silver; whereas the Yoga has a whole suite of colors to choose from, such as silver, copper, bronze, and even a few exclusive designs, such as the Vibe designs for the Yoga 920 and the Star Wars themed designs for the Yoga 910.

I don't think this was happening before I got the Lenovo TB3 dock, but here's what happens:I want to click on the volume icon in the system tray and adjust the volume. However, when I click on it, it pops up a single line of text titled "Speaker (ThinkPad Thunderbolt 3...)", then I have to click on it to expand the list of playback devices, then I to select the "Speaker (ThinkPad Thu...)" device, then it finally lets me change the volume. That's 3 clicks to do what 1 click SHOULD do. Seems like a Windows 10 issue to me, so I googled it and found absolutely nothing that's similar. Of course I have this device set as my default playback device. Windows knows my defaults because I can push the physical volume keys on my keyboard and they adjust the correct default device. Not sure why the system tray icon is acting like this. It happens every time I click on the icon, even if I just did it 3 seconds prior. An annoyance for sure. Just wondering if anyone has an idea of how to solve it. Don't tell me to just use my physical volume keys, haha, as they are kind of tucked under the desk unless I slide my keyboard tray out further.

Hi,I have a YOGA 910 (4k, 16gb, 512 gb ssd) and was not able to use multimedia control keys with programs such the Windows Groove Music, iTunes or any other. The machine actually doesn't have multimedia control keys for pause/play, next and previous track (only for volume and mute control), which is kind of sad for a high end machine, but you still should be able to use with "alternative solutions".I tried two things:1) bought a Lenovo Yoga Mouse, which is awesome (btw) and transforms itself in a multimedia remote controller --> however, the pause/play, next and previous track buttons don't work (only the volume buttons);2) used a software solution like AutoHotKey to create my own shortcuts for these keys (or Sharpkeys, if you like, but I didn't try it...): I created some shortcuts mapped to the Windows commands pretty much like described here.I tried both solutions and they didn't work, what made me believe that this is a problem with the machine itself...Is anybody facing this issue?Does any BIOS update in the roadmap will fix that? (Note: my BIOS is updated to the latest version 2JCN35WW up to 2/16/2017)Thanks,
