I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I have this error, in JAVA I guess, that won't let me get on any sites. From the Bellsouth site I get. "Error Sending Template Data: "java.lang.NullPointerException"." any time I try to log on to e-mail.
I have tried to re-download explorer and it did not help any. It is keeping me from getting on many web sites and says that I can not continue because my computer will not accept cookies. I do not have the cookies blocked and my security is fine.

Any Ideas?

Not too sure when this started. I receive this HTTP 500 internal server error and then the above error message when I have logged into my insurance companys protected website. I can log into it on my husbands laptop though. I did have some problems with malware awhile back and went through this site to clean it up but I never tried logging into this site until recently. I did an update on java before as well. Doesn't make sense that I can log in but when I try to access anything that is when I get the error message, but not when I go through another computer.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
Also, I have no clue where I should have posted this??? Sorry

Thanks for your time.

I am running latest version of Windows 10. I have been having a lot of trouble lately with my Quicken software....like everyone else it seems. I decided to try Moneydance instead and downloaded it. Then decided to try Quicken once more since I have been using it a long time. I had the 2016 version and decided to try the 2017 instead. It downloaded some things for me and then got all the figures messed up. I decided I have had it. I had already decided to delete Moneydance so there would be no conflict. When I try to re-download Moneydance it won't let me. Gets almost finished and then stops and gives me a java.lang.NullPointer Exception error. Before I attach the almost 4 pages of that came up on my notepad, I will ask if you need that.If anyone has any suggestions of something else I can use instead of Quicken, please let me know. Our bank has just been merged with another that happens the middle of March and would like to get something that works.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I have two problems:

I wanted to enter a stock market forum but when I clicked to enter, I received a note that said:
Exception:java.lang.NullPointerException

I have attempted to research what this means, with no luck. I was using IE at the time.

I decided to attempt it using Netscape 7.0. This time I received an error message telling me that I didn't have access because my cookies needed to be enabled. When I checked the Netscape options, it said my cookies WERE enabled.

Can anyone please help me??

Sincerely grateful,

Terri

I know this may sound silly, but check your date/time/month/year and especially time zone settings on your computer and make sure they are set up properly for the time zone you are in.

If time is incorrect, some web sites ( secure ) will discard the cookie regardless if cookies are enabled.

GOOD LUCK!!!

Hello to everyone!

I am currently experiencing this Java problem that I only encounter when updating my Vuze Bittorrent Client. I am just updating it to newer version but every time I try, the error pops up. The complete error is:

"An error occurred: java.lang.RuntimeException: java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException"

After clicking OK button, the setup ends. And when I re-try to install the update, the Vuze Installation Wizard will show this message:

"The installer did not start up correctly on the last run. This is probably caused by a corrupted Java VM. Do you want to download or manually select the JVM?"

When I choose YES, the installer will download the file but will fail and will show the Java error. When I choose NO, the installer will proceed normally but will show the same Java error.

I manually update my Java to the latest version which is Version 7 Update 45 but problem still persists. I checked my Java version by going to https://www.java.com/en/download/installed.jsp.

If you have questions, feel free to ask. I need your help on this since I'm a bit cautious when dealing with this Java since I don't know much about it.

Thanks in advance!

A:Java Error : java.lang.RuntimeException when Updating Vuze

Well; first thing i would try is completely uninstalling Java; and then reinstalling it. Then;(make sure any files retrieved from the bit torrent client are backed up if possible) uninstall the bit torrent client and reinstall that. Try these things and report back and we can go from there if not solved.

Tried installing a program and received an error message advising that JRE needs to be uninstalled and reinstalled from the off-line installer.
I did this and then tried to install the program again, but received the same result ...

I contacted the program supplier, and they advise, "The point is, if you see this error, it means Java is not available for System user, and Traccar is executed from System account."

Oracle say it's an issue with the program certificate, but Traccar insist it's a Java issue connected to the System account ...
and so it goes round in circles.

Anyone have any idea how to, make Java RE available to the System account in Windows 10 please let me know.

Many thanks

Alright so i am using BlueJ and i am very VERY new to programming. I am programming in Java and i am getting a compile error stating "Illegal start of an expression" on line 5 where it says "private String firstName;" Thank you in advance for your help!!

public class PlayerClass
{
public static void main (String[] args)
{
private String firstName;
private String lastName;
private int idNumber;
private int chips;
}
public Player()
{
firstName="";
lastName="";
idNumber=0;
chips=0;
}
public Player(String n1, String ln, int idnum, int ch1)
{
firstName=n1;
lastName=ln;
idNumber=idnum;
chips=ch1;
}
}

A:Solved: "Illegal start of an expression" error in Java

The Illegal start of expression error is being generated because variables declared in the main method cannot have what are called access modifiers(public, private or protected). Any variables declared in the main method can't be accessed by your class methods, Player() and Player(String n1....) so your two methods will through errors as they can't 'see' the variables you declare in main.

Anything you want accessible by class methods should be defined in the class, like this:
Code:

public class PlayerClass
{
private String firstName;
private String lastName;
private int idNumber;
private int chips;

public static void main (String[] args)
{

}
public void Player()
{
firstName="";
lastName="";
idNumber=0;
chips=0;
}
public void Player(String n1, String ln, int idnum, int ch1)
{
firstName=n1;
lastName=ln;
idNumber=idnum;
chips=ch1;
}
}

You may also notice that I added return types to your methods. These are needed to show what the method returns, for example if this was a method:

Code:

[COLOR="Red"]int [/COLOR]add(int num1, int num2)
{
int sum = num1 + num2;
[COLOR="Red"]return sum;[/COLOR]
}

you can see that this method returns the int sum. You need to tell the compiler what you will be returning by adding the type in the method (in red)
As your methods don't return anything, you give them a return type of void

"Problems with this web page might prevent it from being displayed properly..."

The CD works okay on my desktop and both have the same version of java IE 1.5.0_06
One thing which is different is that I use Avast on the laptop and NOD32 on the desktop.

Any ideas fellows?

It may not mean anything important. Possibly, it is something remaining from an old program that no longer exists.

Have you recently installed an updated version of Sun Java? Are you having any problems with Java in your browser that you are aware of?

In any case, if you could post the contents of your autoexec.bat file, we may be able to eliminate the message.

To do that, you will need to have hidden files visible. So do that in Folder Options if you don't have them visible.

Then, open My Computer, click on the C: drive, and find autoexec.bat. Right-click it and choose "Edit". Copy the contents and paste them here.

I've been having this problem for several months now, and every solution I have tried to fix it has failed. When running programs that rely on Java (such as Minecraft, PokeMMO, etc.) the game will not run, and creates an "hs_err_pid" error where the application file is. Below is a list of the solutions I have tried and my system information.

System Info:

Uninstalling and Re-installing Java
Rebooting my Computer (Several Times)
Uninstalling and completely removing the application
Uninstalling and completely removing Java
Using an older version of Java(only as far back as Java 6)
Completely restoring my computer to factory default

Here is the most recent error. I am currently using Java 6, Update 37 (64 bit). I know this is not the most recent version, but Java 7, Update 9 (64 bit) was also not working.

I have been having an error with Java lately and I think this issue is the reason for the many Java related issues I've been having. I'm hoping someone here has an effective fix, either it be reinstalling Java entirely or modifying a file.

The error is as follows:
Cannot copy to the clipboard: java.security.AccessControlException , access denied ("java.awt.AWTPermission" "accessClipboard")

A:Java Error "Cannot Copy to the Clipboard"

Anything?

EDIT: Tried full reinstall of both 32 and 64 bit versions, it did not fix the problem at all.

EDIT 2: Well after not wanting to edit the file without the help of someone who knows what they are doing, I searched the web and edited the java.policy file with a line that re-enables copy-pasting again within Java. And it seems to have worked.
Does anyone know why copy-paste was disabled in Java 7 Update 5?

This is what I did:

Yesterday when I turned on my computer I received a message inviting me to install a new update to Java (Version 7 Update 25). After doing a precautionary search via Google that this was a legitimate update, I proceeded with the installation process. At the time I was using the Firefox browser (although I also use IE 9). At the end of the process I received a prompt at the bottom of the Firefox browser asking me to install the Java Plug-in. I then visited the "Verify Java Version" page which confirmed that I had the recommended version of Java installed (Version 7 Update 25). As Java recommend that users should uninstall older versions of Java from their computer, I ran the Java Uninstall Tool, but that confirmed that there were no older versions of Java on my computer.

I then opened IE9 but when I went to the same web page to verify my Java version I got a pop-up message saying that"Java plug-in 10.25.2 is not installed properly. Java plug-in detected JRE collision." That was followed by a further pop-up saying "Java Plug-in Warning - Applet(s) in this HMTL page requires a version of Java different from the one the browser is currently using. In order to run the applet(s) in this HTML page a new browser session is required. Close all the Netscape browser sessions and start a new browser session to run the HTML page."

I closed IE9 and reopened it but when I visited the Java verify page I received the same error messages.

However, Facebook's Java photo uploader application used to always work fine regardless of that error message.

This morning, however, it has stopped working. I am unable to upload any photos, because it will always say:
Upload Failed. Click on My Photos and try again.Click to expand...

It never works.

The simple uploader (which is non-Java) does work, which seems to mean that there is no problem with Facebook's servers; instead there is a problem with Java.

I have around 200 pictures I wish to upload and uploading 5 at a time via the simple uploader is definitely not an option.

Could someone please help?

ever since i (partially) installed an Audigy sound card, i get a message that reads "No drive attached to FasTrak controller, the BIOS is not installed" every time i boot up. this is annoying, but not too annoying, because it is only ther for about 2 seconds.

far more annoying is that ever since i upgraded Netscape 7.0 to 7.1, the Program Files folder opens up at startup. what makes it annoying is that i have to close it each and every time i boot up.

any help with stopping either of these unwanted occurrences would be much appreciated.

Hey, I have a small problem involving Java and Minecraft.

You see, whenever I try to launch Minecraft it opens up to the Mojang Logo and stops responding. It then proceeds to crash and leave me with an error message which I have attached below.

I've googled it and it turns out lots of people have had the same problem. The problem I have is all of the fixes they tried haven't worked for me. My drivers are up to date, I've uninstalled and re-installed Java (Both 32-bit and 64-bit and tried having only one installed at a time), I've messed around with the Java control panel, and I've even tried mashing the keyboard.

Nothing worked (I think the last one might've made it worse lol). If there's any Java experts out there that could help that would be great!

I've tried hosting a server for an indie computer game called Minecraft using the following .jar file
http://minecraft.net/download/minecr...=1284392596463
and while it works, I've been unable to allocate more than 1 gig of memory to the program.

Running the .jar file by itself leaves a very small amount of memory, which is tracked on the server window as "Memory use: # mb (% free)

The support forum for the game suggests using a .bat file with the following line:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre6\bin\javaw.exe" -Xmx1024M -Xms1024M -jar minecraft_server.jar

This does increase the amount of memory, and while I should be able to increase the "1024" values to use even more, this is where I run into problems. Using "2048" or any other value in this .bat line produces an error stating:
"Unable to run virtual Java machine"

I've asked about this on the game's forum, and the only response I've gotten was from other Vista 64 bit users that have the same problem and are unable to solve it. Any thoughts?

Just wondering if starting off with Java, if this would be a good book? I'm not really new to programming but haven't done a whole lot either.. I've done some java and c++, but very basic stuff. I'm interested in trying to pass the exam and possibly trying to find a job as a java programmer. Would it be possible without having a computer science degree to get a job?

I'm currently working in the IT industry but more as a Tech Support Specialist on the hardware side..

Any advise or thoughts would be greatly appreciated..

I've installed the newest package of Open Office and Java (newest packages). I'm trying to install the extension Open Office 2 Google Docs that allow you to save files from OO directly to Google Docs.

The extension was successfully installed on another machine running XP. I purchased two Toshiba Satillite L755 PCs and have configured them identically. Neither machine will not accept the ooo2gd extension.

I've tried disabling the JRE (Tools -> Options -> Java -> use a Java runtime environment), closing out OO, restarting, re-enabling the option, and get the same issue.

Does anyone have any idea how to solve this issue?

Thank you!

Article here.

The article sites a report: Computer Science Education: Where Are the Software Engineers of Tomorrow? in which a couple of professors bemoan the lack of underlying knowledge and experience with computer systems that Java will shield from the user - thus ill preparing computer science students for real systems work in the future.

I have to agree with this evaluation coming from a systems background myself. If future programmers lack the necessary system skills to solve problems - the future looks bleak especially if students come only from a background involving GUI interfaces.

Best to get well-grounded in computer language (compiler construction) and operating systems (Unix/Linux/Windows) internals rather than the user level skills if you really want to become a computer scientitist/software engineer and make an impact.

i keep on getting the above error when trying to run my java class file. i've done some research and they said that its either a bad compile or a classpath problem. I've set my environmental var classpath to the right directory, but i still got that same error.

its probably not a compile error because this same class file runs on my other computer. but i have to run it on a specific computer (the one that this class file doesn't work at) because i'm doing some speed tests and i have to keep the computer hardware constant through out the test.

i don't have the source right now, but i did upload the class file if anyone wants to try it. any help would be great.

classfile: http://www.geocities.com/kitkat12012/Bsjava.zip

its a bubble sort program that reads random numbers saved on a data files. the data files are pretty huge so i didn't upload them. if you guys probably get an error saying that the data files doesn't exist, then the class probably works at your pc.
