Adobe Acrobat 6.0 & Adobe Photo Deluxe

Q: Adobe Acrobat 6.0 & Adobe Photo Deluxe

Since installing Adobe Reader 6.0, by Adobe Photo Deluxe Home Edition will no longer convert photos, scans, docs to Adobe reader format....... will still convert to other formats, for example jpg.

Preferred Solution: Adobe Acrobat 6.0 & Adobe Photo Deluxe

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A: Adobe Acrobat 6.0 & Adobe Photo Deluxe

The best thing to try would be reinstalling Adobe Photo Home, so it can reset its file associations and get back to working order.

I recently downloaded some digital photos to my computer. I could never figure out how to enhance the quality in Ulead Photo Explorer 8.0 SE Basic, so I opened the photos in Adobe Photo Deluxe 4.0 and enhanced the photos and saved them there. But there is nowhere in Adobe Photo Deluxe which will let me burn these photos to a CD. The photos were saved as a PDD file instead of a JPG file. I need to know if I can correct the way these 92 photos were saved and send them back to Ulead Photo Explorer so I can burn a CD from there!!! This is a mess. Please help me!

A:Adobe Photo Deluxe transfer to Ulead Photo Explorer 8.0 SE Basic

Hi and welcome.
Firstly why do you need to burn photos to a cd from a photo programme? You can use any burning software (your drive would have come with one or there's free ones available) to burn them as data.
Burning them as data though means they will stay as .PDD format. This is ok if you only want to view them on computers with photodeluxe, photoshop or photoshop elements installed.
I love Photodeluxe and use it all the time. It's only drawback is you can't save as .jpeg quickly on the file, save as, menu. To save your pics as .jpegs from photodeluxe :-
Click file, export, file format, in the drop down menu 'save as file type' in the next box, choose .jpeg.
That will be a pain to do 92 times. The other 2 adobe programmes I mention would be able to batch convert them all in one go. Irfanview is a free programme that can batch convert but it doesn't seem to do .pdd files.
Don't know if anyone else can recommend a free batch converter that will convert .pdd files to jpeg? If so chip in.
Otherwise one at a time from photodeluxe, or burn them as .pdd files are your options.

Hi I am quiet new at this, so please be patient.
I have Win XP Pro but seems to have the same problem as a lot of other people.
Photo Deluxe Home Ed. 3.0 does not work well with XP.
It keeps freezing up and especialy with ACDSee.
Is there drivers or something that might help?
My system is an AMD Athlon 3.2g, 1g memory, 256 graphics.

A:Adobe Photo Deluxe

You have Windows XP Pro
.....what problem are you having that is the same as a lot of other people?
Photo Deluxe Home Ed. 3.0
.....Do you mean Photo Elements 3.0? I'm not familiar with Photo Deluxe Home Ed. 3.0. How are you trying to use it in combination with ACDSee?
It sounds as though you have conflicts with other software. Perhaps a scan through your Services and Startup might point to a possible solution.
Please be more specific. Vague statements about "problems" without a description are difficult to troubleshoot. Problems with graphics software could indicate difficulties with graphics cards (what do you have), drivers, chip set, DirectX etc.

I have been using Adobe Photo Deluxe 2.0 for many years and it's a great program. In Jan of this year I did a complete NEW install of XP Pro. Then I reinstalled all my apps, including Photo Deluxe 2.0. Everything was fine until I installed an additional 512mb of memory. I went to open it and it gave a an insufficient memory error. I rebooted, same thing. Today I tried to uninstall and then re-install the software but now XP Pro will not let me re-install it. This strange because I had no problem installing it in the first place. I know that this is old software probably designed for 16 bit apps. But I've come to really like this ap, it has all the features I need and very easy to use.

What I don't understand is why it will not reinstall. yet i had no problem installing it on my wife's XP Home system. Both primary HD's on both system are running NTFS.

Anyone have any ideas

Nevermind that it says "Dimensions caused an Invalid Page Fault in module Cooltypedim.dll" at the top of the page.

Originally I found this: photodeluxesupport.adobe.com/adobeknowbase/root/public/px26aa.htm, for an "Invalid Page Fault Error in Module Cooltypedim.dll When Starting PhotoDeluxe 2.0 or Later for Windows" - but it's for Win 95 only, and you have Win 98.

While I no longer have my copy loaded, from memory the "sample text" was in latin?

Such use of "Lorem ipsum" is common in the industry of printing, and it is designed to show what text would look like.

You replace it with text of your choice.

My question is: if I uninstall this Adobe program, will my MGI Photo Suite #4 take over as the default to accept all photos sent to my computer? This is the program I work with on all my photo work, so I would like everything to go directly there. In other words, will I have to configure somewhere to make this my default photo program, or will it automatically become the default? Can you tell me how to do this?

I have been using Adobe Photo Deluxe 3.0 for many years. I know it's not the latest or greatest, but it is very familiar. Here's my problem, I recently had to reformat my computer, everything reinstalled without issue except this program, you hit install and nothing happens. At first I thought the disk was bad, but it installed on another computer. Now I'm thinking there might be some conflict, maybe with another program. I did recently add some DVD burning programs and got the new McAfee. Is there some way to tell what is causing the problem short of redoing everything?

Hi all

I have an old copy of Adobe Photo Deluxe that came with my scanner, back when I was still using Win98. When I upgraded to XP the scanner wouldn't work anymore, but I kept the Photo deluxe software because it was good at what it did. Not long ago I upgraded my computer with a new motherboard and more RAM, Think I've got 1GB of RAM now. However, since I did that, I can't get Photo Deluxe to start. I keep getting an error message saying that there isn't enought RAM available to start the program!!! Which I know isn't true.

Can anyone help me on this coz I can't afford to upgrade the program at the moment, and I've got a heap of work to do that I need it for.

Thanks in advance

A:Solved: Adobe Photo Deluxe Version 2

As far as I am aware only versions later than that are compatable with XP, but seriously there are free image editors available that are equal to (or much better than) PhotoDeluxe.

I have V 4.0 running OK on XP, but never use it.
Try Picasa (free from Google) or Irfanview (also free from www.irfanview.com).

If you use the search tool on this forum you should find a link for a free version of PSP 7.0, which is much more powerful than PhotoDeluxe 2.0 (which was intended for Windows 95 btw)

I removed everything to do w/adobe and reinstalled it and I still get that message. Anyone else have this happen ? HEEEELP Barb

PS: how do I get this DLL file into my PC

A:Solved: Adobe photo deluxe 4.0 prob

You have to find where it is meant to be and copy it to that location, but certainly it will never know it has it just by having a copy on the desktop.

Many DLL's reside in C:\Windows\System32

I also note that this problem goes back 2 years, although you state 3 weeks ago??
Did you get it working then?

Adobe Photodeluxe 4.0 is, to the best of my knowledge a 16 bit program, so compatability will be an issue under a 32 bit operating system such as XP.

If you check Google, there are hundreds of people with the same problem in both Photodeluxe versions 3 and 4 and in early Photoshop programs. None appear to have any lasting solutions.

Sadly you may have to accept that the program is no longer going to be reliable or supportable under XP, and get something newer?

I've lost my ability to size my photos when using Adobe Photo Deluxe. By this I mean that when I change them into jpeg files and store them and then go to open them up they all come out a standard size. If I want to scan three prints at once and then set up the jpeg so the viewer has to scroll down to reach the lower two images, it just won't work. The three images are all visible in the window when I open up the file. I know it must be happening in Photo Deluxe because when I scan the images my scanning software records them larger and I've got to scroll down to see them all. SOMEWHERE there must be a switch that controls that but I can't find it.

A: Saving in JPEG format is really an EXPORT function, which in most programs (Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, etc)is built into the FILE | SAVE or File | SAVE AS menu. Within PhotoDeluxe you can use the Guided Activity:

1. Get & Fix Photos
2. Save & Send
3. World Wide Web

Hi, and thanks for your attention and hopefully your help in solving this problem. I Love Adobe's Photodeluxe 2.0. It is a simple to use photo editor, and whenever I edit photo's, I use it first before any other program. I tried to launch it yesterday and it comes up with a gray window that says: There is not enough memory (RAM) tp launch PhotoDeluxe.
Well, my computer runs a celeron 2.8 GHZ and I have 1.5 GBS of Ram. I run a memory manager and I have over 900 meg of Ram available. THis is not due to lack of memory, but that is the error the program is reporting. I know that this program is probably 5 years or older, but I would really appreciate it if someone could help me troubleshoot it and find the problem.
I recently changed anti-virus/spyware software to Norton, which is provided by my DSL Provider. So I tried safe mode and got the same message when I tried to lanch it there. I believe Windows did an update just in the last 2 or 3 days, and I wonder if that could have caused this. Thanks for your help. John

Adobe Acrobat 4.0 was on my computer when I bought it. I have Windows ME. Recently I downloaded a free copy of the Acrobat Reader 6.0 but Adobe Acrobat is not free. Is Reader a part of Adobe Acrobat? Should I buy an updated version Adobe Acrobat and if so, what would be the advantage of doing so

A:What is the difference between Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Acrobat Reader

Adobe Acrobat is the full version which allows you to create and edit pdf files. Reader is free and is just the viewer that allows you to read pdf documents someone else has created. If you still have the full version of 4.0 it should still work fine for creating simple pdf documents. The advantage of upgrading is that 4.0 is no longer supported by Adobe and the more recent versions (they're up to 7 now) have many more features. You should keep your version of the Reader current because older versions of the Reader may not be able to open documents created with the newer versions of Acrobat. But if you don't use Acrobat very much for creating and editing (and it sounds like you don't), I don't see any need to purchase an upgrade. Hope that all made sense.

I created a pdf. file from a document that had 'fill-in forms'. I used Adobe Acrobat Professional 6.0. to create the PDF file.

I then I burned the pdf. file on to a CD.

When I used my Adobe Reader 9.0 to open the PDF file, I could fill-in the forms, but not save them. I received a message that said I could not save the information, only print it unless I enabled the ‘local save capability’ in the original pdf. file.

I will be selling the CDs and need the buyer to be able to fill-in the forms, and then save the document on the CD or the buyer’s computer.

1. How do I enable the ‘local save capability’ on Adobe Acrobat Professional 6.0, saving the document with the information typed into the fill-in forms?

2. How can I write protect the pdf. file so no one can edit it (except for the fill-in fields) nor duplicate the disk?

I can't answer all of your questions, but data on a CD is read only, you won't be able to save the edited file on that CD.
It can only be saved on the hard drive & then burned to CD again, if necessary.

I'm only taking a guess here, but since you mentioned your ability to create pdf's, I'm assuming you have the full version and your DL'ed v.6 is only a reader version. If that's the case, maybe the full version (5) defaults over v.6 (since it sounds like you might have both installed).

Just a guess.

My desktop computer is running quite slow, so I am checking all of the software that I have installed to see if something might be causing the problem. Do I need the above items please? I have Foxit Reader and I am running a free Office Suite called Open Office.

Thank you for reading this.

Kind regards

For some reason, when I print a document from Acrobat, it does not line up on the page properly. The specific one that I am having a problem with was created in landscape form in MSF Publisher. It has equal borders left & right on the screen, (top & bottom in the printer) and when I print it from Publisher it is fine. However, when I try to print from the PDF document, it moves enough to the left (toward the top of the printed page) to cause the page to have twice the margin at the bottom than there is at the top. I am running XP, and the printer is a HP P1000. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

After importing a graphics document into adobe acrobat via the Distiller program,i.e. a fax (.pcx), is there a way to edit this .pdf document aside from attaching notes to it? We get applications via email and would like to modify them and re-email them. I have read the Acrobat documentation and it doesn't seem to be possible or at least very easy to do. Does anyone have any tips or tricks to be able to accomplish the above?

A:Adobe Acrobat

What other programs do you have? Acrobat, from what I can gather and have seen on my own installation, isn't much of a creator as it is a converter.

However, Word or a publishing application will be a great place for you to pull in a graphic, edit it, add to it, blah, blah, and then convert it to a PDF using Acrobat.

Hope this helps.

Hi there,

I have an issue with adobe acrobat. I have the full version of Adobe Acrobat 5 and also use Adobe Reader 7. When I click on an adobe file from the internet a blank screen always appears even though in the bottom left hand corner the "done" message appears informing that the file has been downloaded. As a workaround I have to right click and save target as.

Can anyone tell me why I cannot directly download the adobe file when I click on it as oppose to save target as?

Hi people,
I'm trying to decrease the size of a pdf to under 1mb. My fax software (LanFax) crashes if I try to send something over 1mb, but I have a lot of pdfs to send that are this size or larger.

Any suggestions on making the pdf smaller? Does anyone know why the pdf files are larger than .tiff files?

A:Adobe Acrobat 4.0

You could try squeezing them with a compression utility, such as WinZIP or PKzip.

As why .PDF are larger than .TIF, it depends on the format used and other overhead.

I did some file maint. and checked out all the Adobe and found updates for Reader-AIR-Shockwave and Flash which I applied.
The Acrobat I have was downloaded Jan 2010 with version and I looked for updates but there are so many I quit. It appears most were on a 30 day trial. Is there another free version available .

Hello enigma,

Do this: Uninstall all free adobe products on your computer, and visit the site (Adobe - Downloads) to get the most recent versions free. The products are on the left of the webpage link I provided you.

Hope this helps

I have just installed the new operating system Windows 7 and then also installed ADOBE ACROBAT 7.0 pro and Office 2003. And for some reasons, I cannot create PDF files anymore. In fact, I get the warning 20225 because the PDF printer could not be installed during installation of ADOBE. Warning says: AA7.0 Setup was unable to create a new item: Adobe PDF Prort and Printer. The Adobe PDF Printer may be unavailable. Even trying to fix the installation does not work. And all the solutions online are for Windows XP. This is the Hijack file:EDIT: Log removed-Not relevant to the problem and not allowed in this forum ~ MG

Not really sure this needs a hijack this log.

Since the Adobe Pro is installing a printer driver as it's mechanism to convert documents, this would need to be suitable for the OS. I am guessing this is a 32-bit version of Acrobat being installed on the 64-bit version of Windows 7, and this therefore won't work.

Did you see the error you mention during the installation?

I don't know if there was a 64-bit of Acrobat Pro 7, there is for Pro 9 to run on Vista 64 (and therefore should be fine on Win7).

Do you need all the features of this app, or could you use a free PDF generating tool like FreePDF or CutePDF? There are also other low-cost alternatives which are more feature-rich than most free ones.

I've been using Adobe Acrobat Pro X to create documents. In the documents are drop-down lists and buttons. When the user clicks them, it activates a javascript. It works fine when the user has a pc or laptop, because the triggers are mouse-related.

But if they're using a handheld touchscreen device like a mobile phone or ipad, touching the objects doesn't trigger any action. The six event triggers are:

Does anybody know how to create a trigger for a touchscreen device?

I thought that Adobe Acrobat Pro XI may have addressed these issues, so I've downloaded it, but I still only see the six triggers.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you.
