Bluetooth/Wifi combo card?

Q: Bluetooth/Wifi combo card?

I have a Pavilion g7-1260us model QE118UA notebook. The wireless card stopped working a while ago so, I'm using a USB wifi dongle. Not ideal but, it works. I recently read about a wifi/bluetooth combo card that may or may not work with my model. Due to the hundreds of models, I cannot find specific info on MY model on whether or not there is such a card. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Preferred Solution: Bluetooth/Wifi combo card?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I have a laptop INSPIRON E1705 with a WLAN card (p/n DW 1390) installed. I would like to replace it with a WiFi/Bluetooth combo card so I can have Bluetooth capability. What is the recommended card to buy that is compatible with Windows 10?

A:Replace WiFi PCIe card with WiFi/Bluetooth combo card.

Given that there will be no antenna inside the system for bluetooth, you're better off with one of these:

Please advice which one I should buy.  Secondly which antenna kit and wiring harness I should purchase. I believe there is a front and rear antenna options. Please help. I am building a car PC out of an AMD E350 motherboard (link below...), which has mini PCIe & SO-DIMM slots as opposed to standard expansions & RAM. It is a simple, low power system, ideal for the application. I believe Win8 is the perfect platform for the application as well, since it works nicely with a touchscreen-oriented interface.

I bought a WiFi/bluetooth combo card off of eBay (link also below), but thus far, the WiFi isn't working. The BT works fine, but the wireless does not.

I verified that the driver is installed & working in Device Manager, but Windows does not give me the option to connect to a wireless network. In my Network Connections dialog, it only shows the wired LAN and the BT.

I am willing to accept the fact that the wireless driver is not compatible with Win8, but also wonder if it is a problem with the card?

A:Trouble with WiFi/Bluetooth card

*update*

Actually, I just double checked, and the driver is NOT installed for the Wi-Fi card. I was looking at the driver for the regular LAN controller. I was tricked because it is a MoBo integrated LAN controller, but the driver labels it as a Realtek PCIe.

I did download the driver exe from Realtek and I also tried the one from HP. Neither seems to load the WiFi functionality of this card.

Also, if it helps, the card is a Realtek branded for certain HP laptops.

i have been through about 3 wifi cards in the spand of 2 laptops looking for the best range and speed without the interference. i had a realtek dualband wifi card with bluetooth and i sold that to get a a Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 expecting that this would be the top of the line in wifi standards. i mainly sold my realtek because a issue with buletooth, if im using the wifi and i connect my bluetooth headset to the laptop the sound would be choppy and laggy. so when i got my Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 i was amazed that this "was" no longer the issue. i connected my HBS-900 and walked out my apartment and down the hall and the bluetooth was clean! but it seems that now perhaps driver change the bluetooth on my Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 is also bad. i cant even step 2 feet away from my laptop without it cracking to hell, at 3 feet and not facing the laptop i disconnect. it was never like that before and i know its not my headset because when i connect it to my phone its flawless, and i connected another bluetooth adapter and tried and its fine. the issue is that when the wifi is on theirs too much interference and yes when i connect to a 5g network the issue is greatly reduced but for me 5g is mostly not a option. i was wondering if theirs a such thing as a shielded internal wifi? wouldn't think so... i would just love if i could use the bluetooth and the wifi flawlessly. i already for another reason plan to get a Alfa AC1200 external wifi adapter... tl;dr Download from the support center, Ralink (Meadiatek) drivers doesnt install on HP ProBook 450 G1 Hello, recently the business I work for bought a HP ProBook 450 G1 (i5-4200m,8gb,750gb,amd card with 1gb version) and I have to set it up. They also bought Windows 8. So I installed windows 8 on the computer but when I go to network adapters, there? only bluetooth and wired connection adapters. So I downloaded the Ralink 802.11 b/g/n Wireless LAN Adapter Driver from here and when I try to install it, the installer opens up for a second and then closes down, at first I thought maybe the instalaltion is in the background, but that wasn't the case. Then I tried to download Mediatek 802.11b/g/n (1x1) and Bluetooth 4.0 Combo drivers from the net here, they installed and show up in the Programms and Features, but the WiFi adapter did not appear in the adapters menu. neither does it appear in the Device Manager. Also no driver disc came with the purchase. Can someone please help me? The only way to connect the PC to the internet is to use WiFi right now.

Hi, I have a particularly difficult search for some hardware that I thought might have some success here if enough people come across this thread.
I am looking for a wireless mini-PCI card to replace the stock Broadcom card in my gateway notebook.

Main reasons: I'm sick of Broadcom's reluctance to writing linux drivers at all or windows drivers that can be ndiswrapped successfully in linux. More specifically, I'm fed up trying to get it to work in linux and know that Broadcom is notorious for not writing friendly drivers. (So if you happen to have had luck configuring 64-bit drivers for a broadcom card in linux, let me know)
What I want, is a combo Bluetooth -- 802.11a/b/g card.
So far, the only card I have found that is remotely similar to what I'm looking for is this, but it is not the right interface specification and apparently is not supported on notebooks other than those made by MSI
These are the specifications I need:

Manufacturer: Preferably not Broadcom
Interface: Mini-PCI Express
Standards: Bluetooth 2.0 and IEEE 802.11a/b/g
Compatibility: Windows and 64-bit Linux
Mini-PCI Express is apparently a new min-PCI interface. It is not like the more standard version -- it has a thin-profile interface. This is an example of a card fitting that interface.
Compatibility with linux is big, as this is the reason for replacing my Broadcom card.

Thanks in advance for any direction with this search,

Mike

Hi, I have a XPS 13 9343 (i5/QHD) purchased refurbished from 3rd party, recently installed clean W10.
The Dell tool indicates to me that I should be installing:
9343_Network_Driver_WD22T_WN32_7.35.333.0_A03.EXE
Installing I get failure log at the bottom.
Via Device Manager as mentioned the WiFi adapter under Network is not there, scanning for hardware changes does not help.
I have tried manually installing inf files but I don't get any options under "Model" when I try to install it through legacy hardware.
I'm starting to think the Wifi/Bluetooth component is either faulty or entirely missing from the vendor (I have not opened it up and wouldn't know how to diagnose this myself).
I've attached a separate wifi dongle which works as does connecting to Ethernet via a USB adapter.
Any other ideas of what it could be? Thanks.

Do any of you have any experience/opinion about these? I have been searching and reading reviews about them. I have come across several bad opinions/comments, but they seem to be configuration issues on the part of the user. I have not had my box open in a while...........no hardware problems. I have USB1.1 now, but I'm looking to upgrade to make the best use of a "thumb-drive" type device. I really don't have an immediate need for Firewire, but I figured it would be helpful some time, so why not?
Or would I be better to add just the USB2.0 now and do the Firewire later if needed. I have the PCI space to do that. I'm somewhat concerned about IRQ issues either way.

Also, should I remove the 1.1 card and "replace" it?
I'm trying to avoid problems.........It seems much easier that way

Not sure if this is a hardware question, or an OS question... I'll try OS.
I have an older computer P3-600, soyo 6ya (?) motherboard. OS is WIN2K pro, installed cleanly about 2 months ago. At the time I got all the updates/fixes from the MS web site, so I chould be fairly up-to-date.

I bought a combo USB2.0/Firewire card (seems to be simply called an ALI combo card). Has 5 USB2.0 and 3 Firewire ports. When I install the card in certain PCI slots, the PC seems to hang after I log in (as administrator to install the HW). In other slots is comes up OK. It see's the hardware, and "installs" drivers for it. It came with a CD that contains drivers for win95->winXP. I run it, the drivers install, and then I'm told to reboot. I do. When I go into "device manager" under "hardware" there are now a bunch of "problems" with all the new USB objects, and the Firewire one.

The message comes up "Error code 12, not enough resources for this device to operate correctly". I tried running the trouble shooter button, and all it seems to suggest is that I need to re-boot (there are no listed conflicts, or resource issues....). I tried shutting off the on board USB1.1 controller, and I removed the plug in PCI Modem. Even with both of these out of the system, the card still has "no resources to use...."

Sounds like windows can't deal with USB2.0.... or something.

Thanks

A:help with video card/motherboard combo

So you want a suggestion for a motherboard, cpu(are you changing cpu)?, and video card?

I'm not exactly sure what you're asking, so I'll cover several possibilities.

Umm, afaik, there's no 6600ultra. There's a 6600gt, and a 6800ultra, which could be what you mean.
If you just want to get a new card, here's one that's a good price(assuming you're in the us).
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814145107

If you want a new board/cpu/and video, then
Motherboard, Chaintech vnf4/ultra
Cpu amd 939 3000+ venice retail
Video, 6600gt pci-e, OR, 6800ultra pci-e(whichever you wanted).
Total Usd: $410-733

If you did want the 6800 ultra, consider the new 7800gtx too, it's $100 more and it's a lot faster.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814130234

If you want to just get a new motherboard and video, then you're stuck with socket a boards, and I don't think you can get a pci-e sct. A board, so you'd get an agp one, but that'd be about the same as what you have, just newer.

I have an old ISA (8 bit???) Network/Modem card that I pulled out of an old 486 machine. I want to install it on another old system that I have but I don't know where to get a driver for the card. Their is nothing on the card to tell me who manufaturers it except for a 'hp' symbol on the front of the card. It is using a VLSI Chipset. It is a very old card and would like to be able to use it.

Is there another way to find out the maker of this card or can I get maybe a generic driver if that is possible???

A:Old ISA Network/Modem Combo Card HELP!!!!!!!!!

Look for any numbers or letters that aren't near any of the chips. Sometimes they can be hard to find, but a model number is probably located on the card itself. Once you find it, search for it with Google, and you should get a page with drivers relatively easily.

Hello,

I have recently bought a new pci wifi lan card (Ralink rt61 turbo) and have plugged in and installed drivers. Initially the drivers the company I bought it from told me to install didn't work, but after some googling found the correct drivers and downloaded from Ralinks website. However these didn't work either.

When using the Ralink wireless utility it says that the card is disconnected, however in device manage it is both connect and the correct drivers installed and everything is perfectly fine.

I ignored the wireless utility and hoped that windows 7 would still be able to use the wireless card as past experiences have shown to be true. This case however I get nothing. Windows 7 says that the wireless card is experiencing problems, it doesn't show any of the routers that should be shown.

I have been looking around a lot and there have been several drivers that should have worked and they haven't.

I would have thought that the antenna is broken or the card doesn't work however when I use it with ubuntu instead of windows 7 it works perfectly fine without any hassle, so the card is definitely working.

Any advice that anyone can give on how to resolve this would be very welcome.

Thanks

Aieden

I've bought a new xps 15 and I've had some problem: when I'm connected with wifi at home, I can't use the Bluetooth because if I turn on the Bluetooth and I try to connect a device , the wifi drop and nobody at home can use it. For example it'impossible to have a call with my bluetooth headphone. I tried to update the driver but I've had the same problem. Is there a solution for this problem? I'm sorry for my English.

Hello friendly Techguy community.

I have this fancy Bluetooth keyboard with a built in mouse pad for my stationary desktop computer, and I am trying to use it over a range that it can't particularly handle.

My question is there a way to possible solve this issue by sending the signal over my wifi router? such as an adapter set that I can be attached to the sender and receiver of my keyboard?

Any other suggestions to solve this problem are also welcomed.

Thanks!

- Friendly man

Whenever I have my bluetooth enabled and am connected to a device, the connection to my wifi network is broken. It says that it is unable to find a network to connect to. However, when bluetooth is disabled, this problem immediately goes away. Any ideas as to what is going on? I've had Windows troubleshoot my network adapter, but it couldn't find any problems. I am using a HP Pavilion dm4t running Windows 8.

Sure sounds like the Bluetooth is interfering with the Wi-Fi. It should not. Are both integrated? One card that does both? Has this occurred since day one of a new PC? Still under warranty?

I have just had two computers built. The computers are amazingly fast, which is great, but now I seem a little disappointed about being able to adjust the colors to my satisfaction. This is a gaming video card. The colors may work for animated gaming color palettes, but it leaves me a bit dissatisfied and uncomfortable. So far I am trading forex charts, but I also do graphics and edit videos. I need something pretty accurate.

I think I now know all the ways to adjust the colors. I just wonder if I should have realized that there are better video card and monitor combinations depending on what you're after. I may come to the point of asking the builder to swap this card out for a better one, but I don't know where to start.

The card I have is an NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT and the monitors I have are two (2) HP S2031 Wide LCD. We picked this card for speed and also because it came with the right output plug (with four pins for analog color, I believe, rather than a fin only) which I need in order to utilize my KVM switch between this and the other computer.

If you have some tips on an outstanding video card and monitor combination that provides for easily adjustable and highly accurate color, I would love to hear about it. Perhaps the problem is the card alone or the monitors alone, that is also possible...

I'd appreciate any real knowledge you may have on this. Thank you very much.

Color reproduction isn't a video card issue. It's all about the monitor.

I recently upgraded a HP Pavillion 6653C from 98 to 2000. Everything works fine except for the sound/modem combo card. I've tried every 2000 driver listed on HPs website with no luck. Can anyone tell me what driver to use? If not, I'll just use the recovery disks and go back to 98. Thanks

Per chance, will it take the 98 driver?

Hey guys,

So, what i'm trying to do is create a wifi hotspot using my computer. In other words, turning my computer into a router. I'm wanting to do this so i can use my ipod at home instead of only when i'm around other wifi hotspots.

My computer is running off of a wired router, so that i can play online on my PS3 as well. I was told wifi doesn't work well with Ps3's normally so i just bought a wired router. So, the mainline internet cord is plugged into a wired router and then another line runs into my computer.

For some reason, after i make an adhoc connection, the computer is not sending the required information to the iPod so that it connects to the internet.

I've tried entering in the information into the Static tab in my ipod as well, and still only get Local Connection instead of Local and Internet.

This is what my connection looks like through the router using ipconfig /all:

A:Creating Wifi hotspot with built-in computer wifi card.

Hi Cromsy,

Welcome to Vista Forums!

Unfortunately, it isn't as simple as that. You are connected to the router fine with your computer, but that tells us nothing about the ipod because wireless is off (but that's not the whole story either - you need something extra to do what you want). The following article should tell you what you need and how to do it: How to Connect iPod Touch to Windows 7 Ad-hoc Wireless Network. Although it says Windows 7, there are procedures for Vista as well (and the software will work with Vista).

I hope this helps.

Good luck!

I'm having a problem that's been on and off with my.wifi for a while. I have a Yoga 2 Pro and the WiFi card seems to disappear completely and I can't get it back without removing all the batteries and leaving it a while. It's not like it needs a driver update, it totally disappears as if it's not even installed and won't show up in any OS or even under the "rfkill list command". It appears to be completely failing. Thing is I've swapped it out and it seems to be some part of the operation that mounts it that isn't working. I notice that it installs into the power board and not the motherboard. Would swapping this fix it? Does anyone have any ideas?

B570 Laptop (Lenovo)Serial Number: WB03xxxxxxxMachine Type Model: 1068AGUWindows 7 Home Premium 64-bitAtheros ar9285 AR5B95 (replacement from third party, sold as new)Physical wifi switch is "on".Adaptor is correctly identified in Device Manager and driver loads okay. Driver shows best driver when update attempted.Adapter appears in Network Connections, but shows the big red X and "Not connected".Wifi network icon appears on system notification area, again with a big red X.Attempted to connect shows "No connections are available" and there is no list of available SSID's. I am sitting less than 6 feet from my Buffalo Air Station and there are multiple devices connected to the wifi on that router.  I have restarted the router and checked configuration to make sure it's not totally locked down.Fn-F5 appears to do nothing. Power Management is installed and configured. The wifi light (lower left corner of the case, light farthest to the right) lights briefly during startup (POST?) then never lights up again.I installed this card myself and have checked the hardware multiple times. Wires are connected, card is fully seated in socket.Checked the knowledge base and found this:   https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-P-Y-and-Z-series/Z470-cannot-connect-to-WiFi/ta-p/681711  Did not help. Does anybody have any ideas about this? Any help appreciated. Mark

Hi  I've got a Yogo 510 and last week got all my Bluetooth and Wifi working and I could connect to any Wifi network in range. Now the Wifi adaptor s not listed next to the Ethernet connection and bluetoth is not visible anywhere. The overriding reason for my flap is that I am due to go abroad tomorrow and will need Wifi!! Now I do recall that  on some laptops, there is a Fn key way of turning off Wif etc - Not airplane mode but another combination of keys possibly - and I wonder if I have inadvertently pressed the keys that have made Wifi comms disappear into the ether? It is working ok with an RJ45 cable plugged in. Any help much appreciated. Thanks
