Bunch Of A010... Files

Q: Bunch Of A010... Files

Just about every time I'm on the computer, either AVG or Prevx1 finds a bunch of files that begin with A010...with various numbers. Extensions include exe, bat, com, and dll. I feel like I have a serious problem here. What do I do?!?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I noticed in your other post you said that you're close to formatting your HD...well before you do that, try this!I suggest posting a HijackThis log in the HJT Logs and Analysis Forum. Here is a link to that Forum: HJT ForumPlease follow the preparation directions and try not to alter your system until you receive help from one of our HJT Team Members. These preparation directions have you run several scanners in order to remove most of the malware on your system and this may help alleviate immediate problems! The preparation directions are found at the following link:Prep Guide for Posting HJT LogsPlease note: Do not try to fix any problems with HJT yourself. This is an advanced tool and requires expert analysis. It may take a couple days to get a response, but please be patient. Once someone gets to your log you will be in good hands! I hope this helps!

I wish I knew when this happened. I added a DNS 323 network drive back in April, and interestingly the .dcm extension files all date to the 16th of April. I think it must have something to do with the Memeo software that came with the drive. Is there anyway to get the files out of .dcm and back to what they were? There is so much stuff that I thought I had that would be gone. Getting it back would be nice.

A:A bunch of my files have been converted to .dcm and not by me and now I need them

if you know what each file is right click it and choose open with, use the bit that lets you choose from the list and then tick the box that says "always use this program to open the file"

Hello. Someone please kindly help me and I will be so very appreciative.
I have a pretty new computer and Windows 8. (I am not skilled in Windows 8 fyi.)
This morning I rebooted my computer. I noticed that it said it was doing some sort of update.
When the computer restarted, I lost all my files (pdf's and Word documents) that had been on my desktop. The desktop had a 'flower' in the background and seems all different.
Also, google chrome was gone, so I had to reinstall that.
Google drive 'showed' somewhere, but some prompt told me I had to reinstall that, so I reinstalled it.
When I look in google drive all of my recent files (again, lots of Word documents and pdf's) are gone: The most recent date if 12-2-12.
I need all of my files back, and I am clueless on what to do. Most of my files had been stored in Google Drive, but some I kept on the desktop. I always made a 'backup', so I thought that would protect me.
Please help me.
If anyone is in the USA and willing to speak with me, please let me know that.

Allright, so when I woke up this morning and turned my computer on/logged into my user account, I got an error I'd never seen before. I didn't think much of it at the time, so I didn't note exactly what it said, but it was something about a problem with "aawservice.exe", which is an Ad-Aware file (as far as I know). So I closed that and tried to sign into MSN, at which point I received another error, this time saying, "Windows Live Messenger has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." I tried a few more times and continued to get the same error. Firefox seemed to be working fine, aside from the security notice I was getting every time I had to login to a site (Facebook, etc.). A few minutes after I had logged in, I got another random "...has encountered a problem and needs to close..." error, this time for "jusched.exe". I tried restarting my computer a couple of times and got the exact same results, so I tried a boot-time scan with Avast and it found nothing. After that, I logged back into my user account and tried MSN one more time, only to find that I had accidentally deleted the main .exe file for it....so I went to the Windows Live Messenger site and downloaded the installation file. During the installation, I got yet another "...has encountered a problem and needs to close..." error, this time for the installation itself. I re-tried it and got the same error again, at... I got a copy of windows 7 professional and it will not allow me to just upgrade to it from vista home basic so I have to back up a lot of random stuff onto DVDs. I 136GBs of steam games and I would rather not have to download them all again once I install windows 7. Is there a way I can divide my 136gb steam apps folder amongst a bunch of DVDs then extract it into a new steam installation in windows 7? I would rather not use 7z to make a bunch of seperate files because it would take so long. Though if you know of settings that would allow it to compress everything into a bunch of seperate files faster please tell me!

A:Is there software that backs up any files onto a bunch of DVDs?

That's going to be a lot of DVD's. You don't have a spare hard drive sitting around that you can use for backups? How about just buying a cheap HD and using that for the OS and the current drive for games/files?

Okay, so first of all I realize deleting things in the registry is really dumb. Well I was trying to extract some files using winrar and I kept getting the program not responding error. So I tried to uninstall winrar and it said that the file was in use. So basically I went in the registry and started deleting anything that said winrar......

The next time I rebooted, after I signed in all that was showing was my desktop wallpaper. I used control-alt-delete and was able to open firefox from there to get the command line for system restore. I then used system restore to go back to 3 days before I deleted the files. Well that brought back the files on my desktop, start menu/taskbar, etc.

Unfortunately there are still a few problems. While running firefox, there is a grey bar inbetween my taskbar and the internet window that says things like "transferring data from www.bleeping....". The grey box is blank except for one red " ^ " at the far left. Also it will not let me use commands like ctrl+P for printing or ctrl+D to bookmark or any other commands. Also I cannot click on buttons or else I would host some images via imageshack.

I did not back up my registry so any backup programs won't help. Is there a registry fixing program out there or anything else I can do? I already tried a second system restore that went back a week before the "file deleting" and that didn't help.

Hi there,Malwarebytes do not target worms - you will need to use an antivirus.Try this.Emsisoft Emergency KitPlease download Emsisoft Emergency Kit and save it to your desktop. Double click on the EmsisoftEmergencyKit file you downloaded to extract its contents and create a shortcut on the desktop. Leave all settings as they are and click the Extract button at the bottom. A folder named EEK will be created in the root of the drive (usually c:\).After extraction please double-click on the new Start Emsisoft Emergency Kit icon on your desktop. The first time you launch it, Emsisoft Emergency Kit will recommend that you allow it to download updates. Please click Yes so that it downloads the latest database updates. When update is complete, click Malware Scan. When asked if you want the scanner to scan for Potentially Unwanted Programs, click Yes. Emsisoft Emergency Kit will start scanning. When the scan is completed click Quarantine selected objects. Note, this option is only available if malicious objects were detected during the scan. When the threats have been quarantined, click the View report button in the lower-right corner, and the scan log will be opened in Notepad. Please save the log in Notepad on your desktop and post the contents in your next reply. When you close Emsisoft Emergency Kit, it will give you an option to sign up for a newsletter. This is optional, and is not necessary for the malware removal process.===Security Check by screen317Download Security Check by scre... Read more

If you are talking about using your phone as a remote control, then there are several apps for Android or Apple products that allow you to do this. Just search the app stores for PC and remote... you'll need to install the app on your phone and software on your PC from the app manufacturer's web site. I think Google has a remote desktop app if youhave android.

Ok, I had purchased this computer for a job and was ok for a while now they are saying I need to upgrade the processor. Thats fine no problem there till I started doing research and found out the I can't. I only had this computer for approx 6 months I feel I was not given all info on the system when I bought it. I believed and was told it was new however after digging around the system more it is not. My question is can this system be upgraded with a new motherboard and cpu. This is the only way I can keep my job. I can't afford a new computer. I know the processor can not that is why I am asking about the motherboard in order to do the upgrade. This is the first time I ever came across this situation.

A:upgrade on slimline hp 260-a010

With the processor being non-upgradeable, a new motherboard that fits in the case would not be that difficult.  It isMini ITXDimensions: 17.0x17.0 cm (6.7x6.7 in)Just start shopping for that size motherboard that can use the Memory you have in that unit.  Then also pick an appropriate CPU.  It does not need to be in compliance as a HP replacement as the Windows will not transfer either.  Which means a new Windows install or Linux

I am wishing to upgrade the hard drive in my new Envy AIO since it came with only a 5400rpm drive to a hybrid 7200rpm. I have read from previous posts that it is difficult due to the location of the drive sitting behind the curved monitor and to access it you have to remove it. I also have watched a video on someone doing this but they didn't mention how they were able to over come the strong adhesive that attaches the bevel to the monitor without breaking the screen. Is there a documented way to remove the bevel without force? This seems to be a poor engineering design for hard drive replacement or upgrades as well as memory grades where you have to go a step furhter and remove the motherboard since the RAm is located on the back side with no access. I am a computer engineer and very hardware savy and am very concerned about opening up the system to upgrade the hard drive. Any suggestions for removing the bevel safely would be greatly appreciated.

I have a project where I need to search a large amount of text files on my home PC. I recently upgraded from Windows XP to Windows 7. My research indicated this feature was available in Windows 7.

If you do a search in Windows XP, you get a bunch of fields. You can pick to search for text INSIDE the particular sub folder structure.

I have found this feature in Windows 7, but it is different. I have tried using wild cards but it does not seem to work properly.

Thanks for any advice, if you need further assistance, I could make a video to show the issue.

A:Searching a bunch of text files for a particular text string

I don't have Windows 7. So I can't comment on how effective the search feature is. But I know I would not be able to function without the tool Agent Ransack.

It's a free utility, see if it will work for your needs: http://www.softpedia.com/reviews/windows/Agent-Ransack-Review-60432.shtml

The computer is a P4 2.2 Ghz Dell Dimension 2400 with onBoard Video
Our broadband connection most certainly has viruses as a new one pops up every 5 minutes. Some are in c:\Win32 for example, but I don't know about where all of them are at.
We've been using Windows Defender to get rid of them but we're finding that they continue to pop up. Can you help me get rid of them?
I did read the FAQ and then looked at my add/remove programs for common malware.
Thank you

I have a friend?s desktop HP Pavilion 513n and am having trouble disinfecting it. Hard to believe but it was running without anti virus or firewall, connected to a cable modem. He had Norton Antivirus running but uninstalled it when the subscription ran out. I have run Rnav2003 to finish the uninstall. It runs WinXP with all updates installed. His son has had a few different P2P programs that have been uninstalled, I?m not sure which ones. Initially, spybot or adaware would not scan. After scans of both in safe mode, then boot time scans of spybot and avast anti virus, I still can?t get rid of the crap. I?ve installed Microsoft anti spy ware as well. Ran a hijack log and posted it to this website:

http://www.hijackthis.de/

received an automated reply and fixed all items that weren?t returned as safe. Boot time scans with spybot now continue to generate the message of items cannot be fixed because they are in memory. The offending items are, 180 solutions, Coolwwwsearch (23 entries), network essentials.smart pops. Other items have been edonkey, NewDotNet, and webhancer. MS anti spy ware also generated a message at one point about smscfg.ini. I should have written it down but none the less did not allow the change as was recommended by MS.

At this point, the machine is at least not frozen, but it?s not running very well either. I would really appreciate any help in getting rid of the remaining garbage. After reading some of the other posts, it appears there are some go... Read more

Hey there,

My computer got infected with some virusses which I can't manage to destroy. After having used alot of anti-vuirusscanners etc. I'm near the point of desperation. The programs simply can't manage to delete the virusses.
I have used the following programs:

Malwarebytes:
Most of the time it keeps finding 3 threats. A 0Rootkit and 2 Trojans, which probably belong together. Once I delete them, they always come back after restarting my pc.

TDSSKiller:
Virus.Win64.ZAcces.a
Can't manage to delete either.

HitmanPro:
Always finds a whole list of results. Including Torjans, Malware and one ZeroAcces.

As I told before, I'm very desperate. Every help would be greatly appreciated.

I use Windows XP home edition. Long story short, I got slammed with viruses. Vundo was one, as well as a virut that latched on to everything (even my calculator), and some rootkit stuff (no specific names, just "rootkit, rootkit agent," etc). scariest thing to happen-- someone used it to their advantage to steal my credit card number and buy something in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam. Needless to say, I want to be absolute sure that I'm safe before doing much on the comp again. However, I don't think I'm 100% out of the woods yet.I'll start with what I have done.First, I used Dr Web, which cleaned up most of the virut. AVG still finds it here and there, but at least my desktop loads again.I used malwarebytes, which got rid of vundo. I just ran it yesterday and it picked up more stuff (a backdoor bot, a trojan agent-- sorry if it sounds like I'm not being specific, but that's all it says. "backdoor.bot," "trojan.agent," "trojan.dropper," etc. They don't have specific names that I know of), so obviously I'm not totally clean. However, it fixed my problem with having my google links redirected. I THINK. Thing is, let's say I do a google search for Timberland then click on the sponsored result for timberland.com. That takes me to a site with this in the address bar:Removed link-MG...and spysweeper comes up saying it blocked access to the site (which it did). My next attempt will take me to the timber... I was wondering do you think getting that deal and new ram would be better than just buying ram for my current comp? I have a 255 watt psu do you think that would be enough to run this mobo http://www.giga-byte.com/Products/Motherboard/Products_Overview.aspx?ProductID=1810 and the processor and everything else? We have a broadband internet connection running through a NetGear wireless modem. I can connect perfectly fine on my laptop (that's what I'm posting on right now). However, the internet isn't working on our desktop nor is it working for our Xbox Live.

The Linksys hub says the adapter is inactive. I'm not quite sure what that means considering it obviously is working to some extent as I'm on here. Also, Xbox Live could initially find an internet connection but still couldn't connect. It kept giving me error messages.

So, in summation, wireless internet is working fine for the laptop. Desktop internet isn't working. Xbox Live is now freaking out (it went from finding a connection and giving error's to randomly telling me that the parent's Windows Live ID isn't valid in a matter of ten minutes or so). Now, this was all working about two hours ago and nobody really did anything to mess with it.

Any help would be appreciated on all fronts.

Thanks!

A:I'm having a bunch of trouble..

Couple of things:

Are the computer and Xbox connected DIRECTLY to your router or are they on a seperate Switch?

If they are direct, what error message to you get from your computer? What do you get when you do an ipconfig /all?

Have you restarted, (power down and wait @ 30 seconds) your router and internet modem and tried again?

If they are direct, what happens if you DISABLE your WIRELESS and CONNECT Direct to your router? Does it also fail? Could it be cable related?

Let us know! With that, hopefully we can get you real soon!
