Bunch Of A010... Files

Q: Bunch Of A010... Files

Just about every time I'm on the computer, either AVG or Prevx1 finds a bunch of files that begin with A010...with various numbers. Extensions include exe, bat, com, and dll. I feel like I have a serious problem here. What do I do?!?

Preferred Solution: Bunch Of A010... Files

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I noticed in your other post you said that you're close to formatting your HD...well before you do that, try this!I suggest posting a HijackThis log in the HJT Logs and Analysis Forum. Here is a link to that Forum: HJT ForumPlease follow the preparation directions and try not to alter your system until you receive help from one of our HJT Team Members. These preparation directions have you run several scanners in order to remove most of the malware on your system and this may help alleviate immediate problems! The preparation directions are found at the following link:Prep Guide for Posting HJT LogsPlease note: Do not try to fix any problems with HJT yourself. This is an advanced tool and requires expert analysis. It may take a couple days to get a response, but please be patient. Once someone gets to your log you will be in good hands! I hope this helps!

Hello. Someone please kindly help me and I will be so very appreciative.
I have a pretty new computer and Windows 8. (I am not skilled in Windows 8 fyi.)
This morning I rebooted my computer. I noticed that it said it was doing some sort of update.
When the computer restarted, I lost all my files (pdf's and Word documents) that had been on my desktop. The desktop had a 'flower' in the background and seems all different.
Also, google chrome was gone, so I had to reinstall that.
Google drive 'showed' somewhere, but some prompt told me I had to reinstall that, so I reinstalled it.
When I look in google drive all of my recent files (again, lots of Word documents and pdf's) are gone: The most recent date if 12-2-12.
I need all of my files back, and I am clueless on what to do. Most of my files had been stored in Google Drive, but some I kept on the desktop. I always made a 'backup', so I thought that would protect me.
Please help me.
If anyone is in the USA and willing to speak with me, please let me know that.

I wish I knew when this happened. I added a DNS 323 network drive back in April, and interestingly the .dcm extension files all date to the 16th of April. I think it must have something to do with the Memeo software that came with the drive. Is there anyway to get the files out of .dcm and back to what they were? There is so much stuff that I thought I had that would be gone. Getting it back would be nice.

Allright, so when I woke up this morning and turned my computer on/logged into my user account, I got an error I'd never seen before. I didn't think much of it at the time, so I didn't note exactly what it said, but it was something about a problem with "aawservice.exe", which is an Ad-Aware file (as far as I know). So I closed that and tried to sign into MSN, at which point I received another error, this time saying, "Windows Live Messenger has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." I tried a few more times and continued to get the same error. Firefox seemed to be working fine, aside from the security notice I was getting every time I had to login to a site (Facebook, etc.). A few minutes after I had logged in, I got another random "...has encountered a problem and needs to close..." error, this time for "jusched.exe". I tried restarting my computer a couple of times and got the exact same results, so I tried a boot-time scan with Avast and it found nothing. After that, I logged back into my user account and tried MSN one more time, only to find that I had accidentally deleted the main .exe file for it....so I went to the Windows Live Messenger site and downloaded the installation file. During the installation, I got yet another "...has encountered a problem and needs to close..." error, this time for the installation itself. I re-tried it and got the same error again, at... Okay, so first of all I realize deleting things in the registry is really dumb. Well I was trying to extract some files using winrar and I kept getting the program not responding error. So I tried to uninstall winrar and it said that the file was in use. So basically I went in the registry and started deleting anything that said winrar......

The next time I rebooted, after I signed in all that was showing was my desktop wallpaper. I used control-alt-delete and was able to open firefox from there to get the command line for system restore. I then used system restore to go back to 3 days before I deleted the files. Well that brought back the files on my desktop, start menu/taskbar, etc.

Unfortunately there are still a few problems. While running firefox, there is a grey bar inbetween my taskbar and the internet window that says things like "transferring data from www.bleeping....". The grey box is blank except for one red " ^ " at the far left. Also it will not let me use commands like ctrl+P for printing or ctrl+D to bookmark or any other commands. Also I cannot click on buttons or else I would host some images via imageshack.

I did not back up my registry so any backup programs won't help. Is there a registry fixing program out there or anything else I can do? I already tried a second system restore that went back a week before the "file deleting" and that didn't help.

I got a copy of windows 7 professional and it will not allow me to just upgrade to it from vista home basic so I have to back up a lot of random stuff onto DVDs. I 136GBs of steam games and I would rather not have to download them all again once I install windows 7. Is there a way I can divide my 136gb steam apps folder amongst a bunch of DVDs then extract it into a new steam installation in windows 7? I would rather not use 7z to make a bunch of seperate files because it would take so long. Though if you know of settings that would allow it to compress everything into a bunch of seperate files faster please tell me!

A:Is there software that backs up any files onto a bunch of DVDs?

That's going to be a lot of DVD's. You don't have a spare hard drive sitting around that you can use for backups? How about just buying a cheap HD and using that for the OS and the current drive for games/files?

A:Finding a bunch of "(pcname).eml" files everywhere. Programs fail to launch, etc

Hi there,Malwarebytes do not target worms - you will need to use an antivirus.Try this.Emsisoft Emergency KitPlease download Emsisoft Emergency Kit and save it to your desktop. Double click on the EmsisoftEmergencyKit file you downloaded to extract its contents and create a shortcut on the desktop. Leave all settings as they are and click the Extract button at the bottom. A folder named EEK will be created in the root of the drive (usually c:\).After extraction please double-click on the new Start Emsisoft Emergency Kit icon on your desktop. The first time you launch it, Emsisoft Emergency Kit will recommend that you allow it to download updates. Please click Yes so that it downloads the latest database updates. When update is complete, click Malware Scan. When asked if you want the scanner to scan for Potentially Unwanted Programs, click Yes. Emsisoft Emergency Kit will start scanning. When the scan is completed click Quarantine selected objects. Note, this option is only available if malicious objects were detected during the scan. When the threats have been quarantined, click the View report button in the lower-right corner, and the scan log will be opened in Notepad. Please save the log in Notepad on your desktop and post the contents in your next reply. When you close Emsisoft Emergency Kit, it will give you an option to sign up for a newsletter. This is optional, and is not necessary for the malware removal process.===Security Check by screen317Download Security Check by scre... Read more

I am wishing to upgrade the hard drive in my new Envy AIO since it came with only a 5400rpm drive to a hybrid 7200rpm. I have read from previous posts that it is difficult due to the location of the drive sitting behind the curved monitor and to access it you have to remove it. I also have watched a video on someone doing this but they didn't mention how they were able to over come the strong adhesive that attaches the bevel to the monitor without breaking the screen. Is there a documented way to remove the bevel without force? This seems to be a poor engineering design for hard drive replacement or upgrades as well as memory grades where you have to go a step furhter and remove the motherboard since the RAm is located on the back side with no access. I am a computer engineer and very hardware savy and am very concerned about opening up the system to upgrade the hard drive. Any suggestions for removing the bevel safely would be greatly appreciated.

I have a project where I need to search a large amount of text files on my home PC. I recently upgraded from Windows XP to Windows 7. My research indicated this feature was available in Windows 7.

If you do a search in Windows XP, you get a bunch of fields. You can pick to search for text INSIDE the particular sub folder structure.

I have found this feature in Windows 7, but it is different. I have tried using wild cards but it does not seem to work properly.

Thanks for any advice, if you need further assistance, I could make a video to show the issue.

A:Searching a bunch of text files for a particular text string

I don't have Windows 7. So I can't comment on how effective the search feature is. But I know I would not be able to function without the tool Agent Ransack.

It's a free utility, see if it will work for your needs: http://www.softpedia.com/reviews/windows/Agent-Ransack-Review-60432.shtml

5) I can't seem to change the icon for my mp3s. I chose Foobar to open them, but I can only get the icon I want to display if I set them to open with WMP.

A:I have a bunch of questions

Hello Chaoz,

Welcome to Seven Forums.

1) They have removed the no sort choice, so you can no longer arrange them in any order you like. There are several choices though.

2) Haven't heard of this yet. Maybe someone else has a thought.

3) No

4) You can easily create a new shortcut by rt. click choose new and shortcut. Browse to the location of the target, Next, Give it a name, Finish. To give it a different icon, right click the new shortcut/properties/Change icon. Browse to the icon you wish to use select it, press OK.

5) Haven't used Foobar, but sounds like it is not picking up the icons properly. Do you have the latest version? You could try running in Compatibility mode, but I don't know that it will help. Info here if needed: Compatibility Mode

Hope this helps,

Hey guys...

Sorry to being asking for help, but I'm getting desperate with this... Since 20 minutes ago, my Avira antivir started popping a window saying that it had found a TR/FakeAlert , and from that on, a Windows Xp 2008 antivirus appeared ( a fake antivirus of course ), and started scanning my computer. After that, a image started to appear, saying my computer was affected by spyware, and to saying to get a spyware and antivirus. Avira won't take the virus off, so I ran Hijackthis and deleted the files that were infected. BUT, now the fake antivirus doesn't appear, but I can't go into the control+alt+delete thingy to control the processes and I know that I still have the infection... What should I do?

I use comodo firewall, avira antivirus...
Please help me and thanks in advance!

I have two partitions, C and D.
Windows and all programs are suited on C, while on D I keep music, documents and things of such sort.
I left yesterday my PC on to finish some torrent and when I woke up, the thing got bloody messy in almost every task.
Some popup also opens at random, displaying something about antispyware and adware software, pretty ironic since adware makes it.
There was also some tray icon that was displaying the same thing in balloon, but I found the file causing it and purged the bastard.
Oh, and I can't start Task Manager for some reason, whatever it may be.
I am running Vista Ultimate and I humbly ask for help
I thank you in advance

I removed myself almost everything (at least seems like everything, thought I doubt it) but now explorer keeps crashing on startup.

Sorry to here about your troubles.Download Malware Bytes' Anti-malware from here (green download button, middle of the page). Save the file to your desktop and then run the installer. Now run the program and select the update tab. On the update mirror, select: "MalwareSupport.com" and then click "Check for Updates". Let it update. Please allow this program to access the internet if your firewall asks you. Then, go to settings, make sure all options are checked. Finally, go to the Scanner tab and then select "Perform Full Scan"Let it scan...it will then produce a log and open it up in notepad. Again, allow your firewall for this program to open up Notepad if it alerts you. Please post the log back here.

I use Windows XP home edition. Long story short, I got slammed with viruses. Vundo was one, as well as a virut that latched on to everything (even my calculator), and some rootkit stuff (no specific names, just "rootkit, rootkit agent," etc). scariest thing to happen-- someone used it to their advantage to steal my credit card number and buy something in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam. Needless to say, I want to be absolute sure that I'm safe before doing much on the comp again. However, I don't think I'm 100% out of the woods yet.I'll start with what I have done.First, I used Dr Web, which cleaned up most of the virut. AVG still finds it here and there, but at least my desktop loads again.I used malwarebytes, which got rid of vundo. I just ran it yesterday and it picked up more stuff (a backdoor bot, a trojan agent-- sorry if it sounds like I'm not being specific, but that's all it says. "backdoor.bot," "trojan.agent," "trojan.dropper," etc. They don't have specific names that I know of), so obviously I'm not totally clean. However, it fixed my problem with having my google links redirected. I THINK. Thing is, let's say I do a google search for Timberland then click on the sponsored result for timberland.com. That takes me to a site with this in the address bar:Removed link-MG...and spysweeper comes up saying it blocked access to the site (which it did). My next attempt will take me to the timber... Whenever I search with Google in Firefox, when I click on my results, it redirects me to a random page (Elle.com, woman's day, etc.)

iexplore.exe is constantly running in the background, and I use Firefox as my main browser.

Occasionally (every 10-15 minutes) I will hear a click, as if I clicked on a link, thru my headset, and my current brower window will become a background window.

Windows Movie Maker is not working for crap, whenever I open it, it says it needs to close.

Funnily enough, my computer did that earlier too, I removed everyone except a Web Browser and installed Malearebytes, which removed 2 viruses, and cleaned the system, really helped, the mouse was buggy too.

I have kept on recieving many BSOD ever since I purchased my new HP notebook (about 4 months now).

I've attached the recent batch of BSOD (all vary from some odd reason):

By the way, I have tested the ram and tried another bunch of ddr3 ram yet still a BSOD keeps occuring. I've also tested the HDD and the memory of the GPU yet no errors were detected. I've done numerous fresh reformats yet the problem still persists. All drivers have been updated and no USB devices has been connected to the computer apart from a mouse (which I have used on many computers without a problem).

A:A bunch of BSOD's

Check you warranty to see if you can return it.

So my computer is having several problems at the moment but first off I re-formatted my computer a while ago because everything was super broken. Anyway, I used the Windows Update Troubleshooter to fix stuff because updates kept failing and then spending
hours undoing changes also I keep being asked to activate windows but when I click activate it says try again later and it's been doing that for more than a month. And in the Trouble shooter is says that error 0x80070490 is fixed but it isn't really and
I don't know what to do I just want my computer to fix. Also when I play games for a while my computer blue-screens with the error DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION. Also my knowledge of computers is fairly basic.
Oh also here's the computer stuff or whatever:
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4210U CPU @ 1.70GHz 2.40 GHz

Installed memory (RAM): 4.00 GB (3.89 GB usable)

System type: 64-but Operating System, x64-based processor

I think my computer is an Acer Aspire. Also I don't know if any of this is relevant but just in case I guess.

Edit: I just tried installing the Windows updates and 174 updates out of 174 failed.

Do this in order:

1) Open Internet Explorer -> Tools -> Internet Options -> delete cookies, delete files (select off-line content), clear history. Then click ok and exit Internet Explorer.
2) Read http://tomcoyote.org/SPYBOT/index1.html then download and run SpyBot. Make sure to get the updates for SpyBot before you have it scan your computer. After you scan and remove anything SpyBot finds, make sure to click the Immunize button followed by OK and then click the Immunize button in the right pane.
3) Run two of the following free Anti-Virus programs here:

http://housecall.trendmicro.com - I found this to work the best.

4) Post a fresh HiJackThis log.
