Bunch Of A010... Files

Q: Bunch Of A010... Files

Just about every time I'm on the computer, either AVG or Prevx1 finds a bunch of files that begin with A010...with various numbers. Extensions include exe, bat, com, and dll. I feel like I have a serious problem here. What do I do?!?

Preferred Solution: Bunch Of A010... Files

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I noticed in your other post you said that you're close to formatting your HD...well before you do that, try this!I suggest posting a HijackThis log in the HJT Logs and Analysis Forum. Here is a link to that Forum: HJT ForumPlease follow the preparation directions and try not to alter your system until you receive help from one of our HJT Team Members. These preparation directions have you run several scanners in order to remove most of the malware on your system and this may help alleviate immediate problems! The preparation directions are found at the following link:Prep Guide for Posting HJT LogsPlease note: Do not try to fix any problems with HJT yourself. This is an advanced tool and requires expert analysis. It may take a couple days to get a response, but please be patient. Once someone gets to your log you will be in good hands! I hope this helps!

Hello. Someone please kindly help me and I will be so very appreciative.
I have a pretty new computer and Windows 8. (I am not skilled in Windows 8 fyi.)
This morning I rebooted my computer. I noticed that it said it was doing some sort of update.
When the computer restarted, I lost all my files (pdf's and Word documents) that had been on my desktop. The desktop had a 'flower' in the background and seems all different.
Also, google chrome was gone, so I had to reinstall that.
Google drive 'showed' somewhere, but some prompt told me I had to reinstall that, so I reinstalled it.
When I look in google drive all of my recent files (again, lots of Word documents and pdf's) are gone: The most recent date if 12-2-12.
I need all of my files back, and I am clueless on what to do. Most of my files had been stored in Google Drive, but some I kept on the desktop. I always made a 'backup', so I thought that would protect me.
Please help me.
If anyone is in the USA and willing to speak with me, please let me know that.

I wish I knew when this happened. I added a DNS 323 network drive back in April, and interestingly the .dcm extension files all date to the 16th of April. I think it must have something to do with the Memeo software that came with the drive. Is there anyway to get the files out of .dcm and back to what they were? There is so much stuff that I thought I had that would be gone. Getting it back would be nice.

A:A bunch of my files have been converted to .dcm and not by me and now I need them

Allright, so when I woke up this morning and turned my computer on/logged into my user account, I got an error I'd never seen before. I didn't think much of it at the time, so I didn't note exactly what it said, but it was something about a problem with "aawservice.exe", which is an Ad-Aware file (as far as I know). So I closed that and tried to sign into MSN, at which point I received another error, this time saying, "Windows Live Messenger has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." I tried a few more times and continued to get the same error. Firefox seemed to be working fine, aside from the security notice I was getting every time I had to login to a site (Facebook, etc.). A few minutes after I had logged in, I got another random "...has encountered a problem and needs to close..." error, this time for "jusched.exe". I tried restarting my computer a couple of times and got the exact same results, so I tried a boot-time scan with Avast and it found nothing. After that, I logged back into my user account and tried MSN one more time, only to find that I had accidentally deleted the main .exe file for it....so I went to the Windows Live Messenger site and downloaded the installation file. During the installation, I got yet another "...has encountered a problem and needs to close..." error, this time for the installation itself. I re-tried it and got the same error again, at... I got a copy of windows 7 professional and it will not allow me to just upgrade to it from vista home basic so I have to back up a lot of random stuff onto DVDs. I 136GBs of steam games and I would rather not have to download them all again once I install windows 7. Is there a way I can divide my 136gb steam apps folder amongst a bunch of DVDs then extract it into a new steam installation in windows 7? I would rather not use 7z to make a bunch of seperate files because it would take so long. Though if you know of settings that would allow it to compress everything into a bunch of seperate files faster please tell me!

A:Is there software that backs up any files onto a bunch of DVDs?

That's going to be a lot of DVD's. You don't have a spare hard drive sitting around that you can use for backups? How about just buying a cheap HD and using that for the OS and the current drive for games/files?

Okay, so first of all I realize deleting things in the registry is really dumb. Well I was trying to extract some files using winrar and I kept getting the program not responding error. So I tried to uninstall winrar and it said that the file was in use. So basically I went in the registry and started deleting anything that said winrar......

The next time I rebooted, after I signed in all that was showing was my desktop wallpaper. I used control-alt-delete and was able to open firefox from there to get the command line for system restore. I then used system restore to go back to 3 days before I deleted the files. Well that brought back the files on my desktop, start menu/taskbar, etc.

Unfortunately there are still a few problems. While running firefox, there is a grey bar inbetween my taskbar and the internet window that says things like "transferring data from www.bleeping....". The grey box is blank except for one red " ^ " at the far left. Also it will not let me use commands like ctrl+P for printing or ctrl+D to bookmark or any other commands. Also I cannot click on buttons or else I would host some images via imageshack.

I did not back up my registry so any backup programs won't help. Is there a registry fixing program out there or anything else I can do? I already tried a second system restore that went back a week before the "file deleting" and that didn't help.

A:Finding a bunch of "(pcname).eml" files everywhere. Programs fail to launch, etc

Hi there,Malwarebytes do not target worms - you will need to use an antivirus.Try this.Emsisoft Emergency KitPlease download Emsisoft Emergency Kit and save it to your desktop. Double click on the EmsisoftEmergencyKit file you downloaded to extract its contents and create a shortcut on the desktop. Leave all settings as they are and click the Extract button at the bottom. A folder named EEK will be created in the root of the drive (usually c:\).After extraction please double-click on the new Start Emsisoft Emergency Kit icon on your desktop. The first time you launch it, Emsisoft Emergency Kit will recommend that you allow it to download updates. Please click Yes so that it downloads the latest database updates. When update is complete, click Malware Scan. When asked if you want the scanner to scan for Potentially Unwanted Programs, click Yes. Emsisoft Emergency Kit will start scanning. When the scan is completed click Quarantine selected objects. Note, this option is only available if malicious objects were detected during the scan. When the threats have been quarantined, click the View report button in the lower-right corner, and the scan log will be opened in Notepad. Please save the log in Notepad on your desktop and post the contents in your next reply. When you close Emsisoft Emergency Kit, it will give you an option to sign up for a newsletter. This is optional, and is not necessary for the malware removal process.===Security Check by screen317Download Security Check by scre... Read more

Does HP have any remote control app which canbe used to control volume etc.. for HP Pavilion 27-a010

A:HP Pavilion 27-a010

If you are talking about using your phone as a remote control, then there are several apps for Android or Apple products that allow you to do this. Just search the app stores for PC and remote... you'll need to install the app on your phone and software on your PC from the app manufacturer's web site. I think Google has a remote desktop app if youhave android.

I am wishing to upgrade the hard drive in my new Envy AIO since it came with only a 5400rpm drive to a hybrid 7200rpm. I have read from previous posts that it is difficult due to the location of the drive sitting behind the curved monitor and to access it you have to remove it. I also have watched a video on someone doing this but they didn't mention how they were able to over come the strong adhesive that attaches the bevel to the monitor without breaking the screen. Is there a documented way to remove the bevel without force? This seems to be a poor engineering design for hard drive replacement or upgrades as well as memory grades where you have to go a step furhter and remove the motherboard since the RAm is located on the back side with no access. I am a computer engineer and very hardware savy and am very concerned about opening up the system to upgrade the hard drive. Any suggestions for removing the bevel safely would be greatly appreciated.

Ok, I had purchased this computer for a job and was ok for a while now they are saying I need to upgrade the processor. Thats fine no problem there till I started doing research and found out the I can't. I only had this computer for approx 6 months I feel I was not given all info on the system when I bought it. I believed and was told it was new however after digging around the system more it is not. My question is can this system be upgraded with a new motherboard and cpu. This is the only way I can keep my job. I can't afford a new computer. I know the processor can not that is why I am asking about the motherboard in order to do the upgrade. This is the first time I ever came across this situation.

A:upgrade on slimline hp 260-a010

With the processor being non-upgradeable, a new motherboard that fits in the case would not be that difficult.  It isMini ITXDimensions: 17.0x17.0 cm (6.7x6.7 in)Just start shopping for that size motherboard that can use the Memory you have in that unit.  Then also pick an appropriate CPU.  It does not need to be in compliance as a HP replacement as the Windows will not transfer either.  Which means a new Windows install or Linux

Hi: I agree with you. I took a look at the motherboard illustration, and I do not see any kind of expansion slots available for add on graphics, or any other PCIe card. The only upgrades that can be done appear to be to increase the memory if you don't already have 2 x 8 GB installed.

I have a project where I need to search a large amount of text files on my home PC. I recently upgraded from Windows XP to Windows 7. My research indicated this feature was available in Windows 7.

If you do a search in Windows XP, you get a bunch of fields. You can pick to search for text INSIDE the particular sub folder structure.

I have found this feature in Windows 7, but it is different. I have tried using wild cards but it does not seem to work properly.

Thanks for any advice, if you need further assistance, I could make a video to show the issue.

A:Searching a bunch of text files for a particular text string

I don't have Windows 7. So I can't comment on how effective the search feature is. But I know I would not be able to function without the tool Agent Ransack.

It's a free utility, see if it will work for your needs: http://www.softpedia.com/reviews/windows/Agent-Ransack-Review-60432.shtml

Ok, my computer was working fine when I left for the weekend and I shut it down. When I came back the computer restarted fine, but I noticed there were alot of things were wrong once I was logged in.

1)can't minimize programs to the taskbar. they disappear once i try to minimize them but I can access them by using alt+tab.

2)on the taskbar, I can't hide inactive icons. on both the quick launch side and the other end of the taskbar. the button with the chevron is missing. I tried right clicking the taskbar and going to properties but when I click "hide inactive icons" nothing happens. Also when I clicked the customize button, there was nothing in the list.

3)I have no sound. I went to the control panel and checked the sound and audio devices and everything was grayed but when I checked the hardware tab, it said everything was working properly.

4)when I access the task manager, and click on the processes tab, the user name column is blank. usually the processes are labeled administrator or system

5)can't click and drag anything on the desktop. tried to drag something into the recycling bin and couldn't grab it. I could click it just not grab it.

6)can't copy and paste. I can highlight something but then I go to paste it the paste is grayed.

I have a friend?s desktop HP Pavilion 513n and am having trouble disinfecting it. Hard to believe but it was running without anti virus or firewall, connected to a cable modem. He had Norton Antivirus running but uninstalled it when the subscription ran out. I have run Rnav2003 to finish the uninstall. It runs WinXP with all updates installed. His son has had a few different P2P programs that have been uninstalled, I?m not sure which ones. Initially, spybot or adaware would not scan. After scans of both in safe mode, then boot time scans of spybot and avast anti virus, I still can?t get rid of the crap. I?ve installed Microsoft anti spy ware as well. Ran a hijack log and posted it to this website:

The offending items are, 180 solutions, Coolwwwsearch (23 entries), network essentials.smart pops. Other items have been edonkey, NewDotNet, and webhancer. MS anti spy ware also generated a message at one point about smscfg.ini. I should have written it down but none the less did not allow the change as was recommended by MS.

At this point, the machine is at least not frozen, but it?s not running very well either. I would really appreciate any help in getting rid of the remaining garbage. After reading some of the other posts, it appears there are some go... Read more

We have a broadband internet connection running through a NetGear wireless modem. I can connect perfectly fine on my laptop (that's what I'm posting on right now). However, the internet isn't working on our desktop nor is it working for our Xbox Live.

The Linksys hub says the adapter is inactive. I'm not quite sure what that means considering it obviously is working to some extent as I'm on here. Also, Xbox Live could initially find an internet connection but still couldn't connect. It kept giving me error messages.

So, in summation, wireless internet is working fine for the laptop. Desktop internet isn't working. Xbox Live is now freaking out (it went from finding a connection and giving error's to randomly telling me that the parent's Windows Live ID isn't valid in a matter of ten minutes or so). Now, this was all working about two hours ago and nobody really did anything to mess with it.

Any help would be appreciated on all fronts.

A:I'm having a bunch of trouble..

Couple of things:

Are the computer and Xbox connected DIRECTLY to your router or are they on a seperate Switch?

If they are direct, what error message to you get from your computer? What do you get when you do an ipconfig /all?

Have you restarted, (power down and wait @ 30 seconds) your router and internet modem and tried again?

If they are direct, what happens if you DISABLE your WIRELESS and CONNECT Direct to your router? Does it also fail? Could it be cable related?

Let us know! With that, hopefully we can get you real soon!

Hello. I am having several computer issues that I am hoping you can help me resolve, and I thank you in advance. I will start with the top 3 problems, because I
believe that if we can get those 3 all worked out, than it should solve the rest of the problems I am having. #1 - For starters. This isn't the biggest problem, but,
it has become a major problem, because of it, it has gotten harder for me to search for the answers and/or fixtures to my problems. Basically, 4 out of 5 times, when
on a website, the "Internet Explor has stopped working" error will pop up. I will wait while windows 'searches for solutions' but, it never helps, when it gets done,
it says "A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." I can 'X' it or close it,
and then, it happens again, immediately after closing it. After closing it the second time, the website that I was on will go to the white screen "We were unable to
return you to.....(fill in the blank.com). When I click on 'More Information' it says "When a website causes a failure or crash, Internet Explorer attempts to restore
the site. It stops after two tries to avoid an endless loop." So, let me add, this it doesn't matter what website I go to. Facebook, yahoo, google, it doesn't
matter. Sometimes they will work, sometimes it will do this. Even if I get Facebook (for example) to work at that moment, the se... Read more

Hi, I have an older laptop that I use for school. Recently, I had a nasty virus, so I just decided to wipe the computer clean and start over, which I did successfully. Now I need to download the drivers but I am getting frustrated. I thought I had a drivers disk, but I don't. I went on the Lenovo website thinking I could get them all from there, but I am so confused. I have no idea which drivers I need. I think because its an older laptop, they don't have updated support for the model I have.

I tried looking in the device manager to see which ones are missing but I can't make any sense of it. When I do a Google search, I see all sorts of sites where I can download free drivers, but I have no idea which sites to trust to download. For all I know, those are all Malware. Can someone please help me?

I know for sure I need the driver for my wireless card but I am missing many others too. According to the Device Manager, these all have yellow questions marks (missing drivers):
-Audio device on High Definition Audio Bus
-Base System Device
-Base System Device
-Base System Device
-Fingerprint Sensor
-Foxconn Bluetooth 2.0 plus EDR
-Modem Device on High Definition Audio Bus
-Network Controller
-SM Bus Controller
-Video Controller
-Video Controller (VGA Compatible)

Lenovo 3000 V100
Windows XP Professional

Let me know what other info you need. Thank you.

A:Need a bunch of drivers but don't know where to get them

Hmmm, I see a host of drivers for this notebook on the Lenovo Support Site.

Started with a Windows Recovery virus, wireshark antivirus, and some other malware. I ran Malwarebytes antimalware before remembering about this forum. As of now, I cannot get the computer to renew an IP on a known good network. Most of files are hidden but can be viewed, no start menu programs.

Please explain why this computer has no antivirus program installed and running. This is an open invitation for infection.

It can take as little as eight seconds to infect an unprotected computer.

Please keep this computer offline except when downloading tools and posting in the forum until we get one installed. Let me know your intentions for an antivirus program.

Please note that these fixes are not instantaneous. Most infections require more than one round to properly eradicate.

Please stay with me until given the 'all clear' even if symptoms seemingly abate.

Kindly follow my instructions and please do no fixing on your own or running of scanners unless requested by a helper.

Ok, I had to restart my computer after it finished a spyware scan. It restarted just fine, but I noticed a lot of things wrong once I logged on.

1)can't minimize programs to the taskbar. They won't show up if I try to minimize them, but I can access them by using alt+tab.

2)can't hide inactive windows, no circle with the arrows to click to minimize. I've tried right clicking on the taskbar and going to properties, but when i click hide inactive icons, and click apply nothing happens. Also when I click the customize button, the customize notification menu is empty.

3)I have no sound. I went to the control panel and checked on the sound and audio devices. I went through all of the tabs and they all said there was no device, but when i checked the hardware properties it said everything was working properly.

4)when I access the task manager and click on the processes tab, the user name column is empty. Usually there is either administrator or system

Other than these problems, everything else works fine. I recently installed something before my computer restarted and I uninstalled it and restarted it again and the same problem was there. if anybody knows what to do I would be extremely greatful.

Save HJTsetup.exe to your desktop.

Double click on the HJTsetup.exe icon on your desktop.
By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Hijack This.
Continue to click Next in the setup dialogue boxes until you get to the Select Addition Tasks dialogue.
Put a check by Create a desktop icon then click Next again.
Continue to follow the rest of the prompts from there.
At the final dialogue box click Finish and it will launch Hijack This.
Click on the Do a system scan and save a log file button. It will scan and then ask you to save the log.
Click Save to save the log file and then the log will open in notepad.
Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" to copy the entire contents of the log.
Come back here to this thread and Paste the log in your next reply.
DO NOT have Hijack This fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.

I have two partitions, C and D.
Windows and all programs are suited on C, while on D I keep music, documents and things of such sort.
I left yesterday my PC on to finish some torrent and when I woke up, the thing got bloody messy in almost every task.
Some popup also opens at random, displaying something about antispyware and adware software, pretty ironic since adware makes it.
There was also some tray icon that was displaying the same thing in balloon, but I found the file causing it and purged the bastard.
Oh, and I can't start Task Manager for some reason, whatever it may be.
I am running Vista Ultimate and I humbly ask for help
I thank you in advance

I removed myself almost everything (at least seems like everything, thought I doubt it) but now explorer keeps crashing on startup.

Sorry to here about your troubles.Download Malware Bytes' Anti-malware from here (green download button, middle of the page). Save the file to your desktop and then run the installer. Now run the program and select the update tab. On the update mirror, select: "MalwareSupport.com" and then click "Check for Updates". Let it update. Please allow this program to access the internet if your firewall asks you. Then, go to settings, make sure all options are checked. Finally, go to the Scanner tab and then select "Perform Full Scan"Let it scan...it will then produce a log and open it up in notepad. Again, allow your firewall for this program to open up Notepad if it alerts you. Please post the log back here.

A:Got a bunch of viruses, need help

So I was able to make it so I could access programs using a registry change, then I ended all the messed up processes using RGKill, then I was able to use Malwarebytes again to do a full scan. I used this guide.

Remove Win 7 Antispyware 2012 and Vista Antivirus 2012 name changing rogue (Uninstall Guide)

It got rid of most of the bad stuff but there is still a weird process called "rgokac.exe" taking up a bunch of mem usage, there are also these weird icons on my taskbar that say help and options.

I"m not sure what to do now, Malwarebytes obviously isn't picking up whatever is causing these problems and I"m not sure where to go from here.

Hey guys...

Sorry to being asking for help, but I'm getting desperate with this... Since 20 minutes ago, my Avira antivir started popping a window saying that it had found a TR/FakeAlert , and from that on, a Windows Xp 2008 antivirus appeared ( a fake antivirus of course ), and started scanning my computer. After that, a image started to appear, saying my computer was affected by spyware, and to saying to get a spyware and antivirus. Avira won't take the virus off, so I ran Hijackthis and deleted the files that were infected. BUT, now the fake antivirus doesn't appear, but I can't go into the control+alt+delete thingy to control the processes and I know that I still have the infection... What should I do?

I use comodo firewall, avira antivirus...
Please help me and thanks in advance!

I'm using the Pro 64 bit version.

1) On my music/media folders I can't arrange the files the way I want it; they just snap in place. Is there a custom setting in there?

2) Sometimes when I play a video, the taskbar switches color to match the video. How do I make it to constantly match my wallpaper?

3) Is there a way to bring the Show Desktop to the left side?

4) What's a good program to create shortcuts? I used WinKey before this, but it's not supported in Windows 7.

5) I can't seem to change the icon for my mp3s. I chose Foobar to open them, but I can only get the icon I want to display if I set them to open with WMP.

A:I have a bunch of questions

Hello Chaoz,

Welcome to Seven Forums.

1) They have removed the no sort choice, so you can no longer arrange them in any order you like. There are several choices though.

2) Haven't heard of this yet. Maybe someone else has a thought.

3) No

4) You can easily create a new shortcut by rt. click choose new and shortcut. Browse to the location of the target, Next, Give it a name, Finish. To give it a different icon, right click the new shortcut/properties/Change icon. Browse to the icon you wish to use select it, press OK.

5) Haven't used Foobar, but sounds like it is not picking up the icons properly. Do you have the latest version? You could try running in Compatibility mode, but I don't know that it will help. Info here if needed: Compatibility Mode

Hope this helps,
