Unable to view twitter images on home internet connection

Q: Unable to view twitter images on home internet connection

This is my first time posting on a forum, so kindly excuse any mistake.

I frequently face a problem with my home internet connection where twitter images do not load properly. This happens both on Win7 Professional (64 bit) laptop as well my iPhone 4s. Sometimes twitter works perfectly fine but more than often, some of the images fail to load.

It works perfectly fine when I am connected to my office wifi, or tethered to my iPhone hotspot, or accessing twitter on my phone using the 3G data plan.

I have switched off my wifi and directly connected my laptop to the modem. My ISP's local technical rep has also replaced the ADSL modem. I have tried using Google DNS and OpenDNS, but still continue to face the same problem. Since this is not a 'critical' problem like internet completely not working, the ISP is probably not giving it all its attention.

I don't know if this helps, i had run namebench on my connection and had got a common error on all the DNSs
twitter.com appears incorrect
google.com is hijacked

I am slightly OCD in that it irritates me to see even a small error, so want to help the tech rep solve this. Or at least identify the issue so that i can tell the ISP to correct it. Hope you guys can help me out. Thanks in advance.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Okay so recently my computer has stopped loading images(mostly from DeviantART.com) on my internet browsers. All that would show up is a little gray box or one of the various "broken link" pictures for the various browsers i have tried. Also on some sites, the site itself does not load correctly and the background and header is tiled which it's not supposed to do. i've ran Malwarebytes', Symantec, and Spybot but nothing comes up and if something comes up i fix it but nothing changes. can anyone help?

Hi everyone. I'm having a problem with my laptop, I used to be able to share my internet when I created a wireless ad-hoc network. (I used this network to connect my mobile phone via WIFI and use my laptop's internet on the phone) Unfortunately I've only manage to do that the first 2 days, after that when I try to create a ad-hoc wireless network, it doesn't show the option "Internet Sharing" any more.
I had to make it work again, so I've restored the PC to a previous date. And it worked, but only for the first 2 days again.
Does anybody have a clue why the "Internet Sharing" option disappears from the network creation manager, after a while????
Thanks in advance.

I have two users on one of my websites who can't seem to see smilies on a page i've created, although other member's can.

They have done all the usual, checked settings, disabled internet security (Ad blocking) and even unchecking "Use compressed graphics" in the WWW preference area as mentioned in a post here somewhere.

Any suggestions? They are using AOL I think both the users having problems.

I am looking for some help with a topic that is quite new to me. I am by no way computer illiterate but digital cameras are kind of new to me.

I am using a Canon EOS 20D and am struggling to be able to view any RAW files. When I say that I can't view them I really mean that I can't view them when I open the folder on the camera through windows I can see the folder where I would expect to see some files, the folder is empty.

I understand that windows does not natively support the viewing of RAW files and that some post processing has to take place so here is what I have done.

I have installed Adobe Photoshop CS2 and updated the RAW plugin to 3.6 and when I browse to the camera and open the folder where I would expect to see the files there is nothing, I also get the same result through the Adobe Bridge. I have also tried to copy the folder from the camera to my desktop and trying again but I get the same results.

I have now tried installing Microsoft RAW image thumbnailer and viewer for windows XP (Version 1.0 Build 50)

I get the same thing with this when I open the folder on the camera and if I copy it to my desktop.

I am able to view the RAW images on the camera's LCD display.

If I set the camera to take pictures in a Jpeg format then I can see the pictures through windows, Adobe photoshop and Adobe bridge.

I really don't know where I'm going wrong and I would appreciate some help and or advice.

Assuming they are .jpg and not .cdr files I suggest you open the folder ( within explorer) the pic's are stored in, then choose view, then select Thumbnails. See if that works.

I am having trouble viewing images & ads on certain sites. For instance all images on Yahoo have a box with a little red "x" in the upper left corner. I have been told numerous possible solutions & nothing has seemed to work. For example: it does not seem to be a Java issue or my internet security. I can't seem to find a solution. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Oh! unfortunately I can't remember what I was doing that may have caused this & I have tried system restore & that didn't work. Any help. . . Thanks.

Hi, hopefully this will be an easy one for someone. I just formatted and reinstalled everything. When I open "some" emails in aol, I can't view any "online images". Where as, I have a box with a red "X" in the top left hand corner. I can't right click on it to view or change any settings. If I send it to my sbc account in Outlook, I can view it. Some emails in outlook are also doing the same. If I open up IE7, everything there is fine..Now the even crazier part. This does it on all 3 of my computers, all in the same way. The only think I have on all 3 computers in common, is Trend Micro PC-cillin Internet Security 2007. I have disabled it or closed it and it still happens....Any takers?????

A:unable to view images in outlook or aol

Either in the PC Cilin or in your security options in Outlook or AOL, you've disabled pictures it seems. Search through there and see if there is an option to enable them. Should be able to view after that.

So lately, within the last month, I've been having trouble viewing some Tinypic images. I've tried the ones that wont show in all my browsers (Chrome, IE, Safari, and FF), but with no luck. In the top of the browsers it always shows 1x1, and I see nothing at all. It's gotten consistently worse over the last month, and I can see very few Tinypic images now. I can see Photobucket and Imageshack just fine. My first thought what that perhaps it was a particular server that those images were uploaded to, but checking URLS that doesn't seem to be it as they're from many different ones.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! I run Windows Vista Home Premium with Service Pack 2, all things are up to date. I have Kaspersky, and a firewall but I have not changed any settings between the time when it worked and now when it doesn't. My computer is a Toshiba Satellite from 2007, and it's a lemon. So I'm thinking this just has to be another one of it's issues.

A:Unable to view most Tinypic Images

In the top of the browsers it always shows 1x1Click to expand...

A one pixel image? If so, you'll need a really clean screen and really, really good eyesight to see it. How about an example URL so we can see (or not see)?

Also with O2 Broadband.

I have one machine on XP (FF3 and IE7 can't view the images), another on win2k (IE6 and FF3 can't view the images) even my wii can't using opera so i would assume this points at O2.

After updating FastStone Image Viewer, I'm unable to view most of my images. (I have access to images saved after the problem arose.) In FastStone's thumbnail view, a red cross appears where the photo is/was and when I highlight the thumbnail I see the name of the image and its original size.

The same happens if I try to view the images (via the containing folder) in Picasa or Irfanview, but MS Paint opens the image without problem. I've un installed and updated all the image viewers, and changed the default program for images between various image viewer programs.

However, if I move or copy the images to another file or the desktop I?m able to view them without problem in all of the viewers. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated, thanks.

A:unable to view digital images from floppy drive

Do you normally view them in a browser window? Try this. Put in the floppy whose pics you can't open and then go into Windows Explorer and click on your A drive so that the files appear in the right pane. While holding the shift key down right click on one of the .jpg files and select 'Open With' on the menu. When the Open With screen pops up scroll down and click once on Iexplore to highlight it and then place a check in the little box where it says "always use this program etc..." then click ok. Now the pics should open in a browser window.

Recently I started experiencing a problem where others on my network could not access my shared folders. At first I thought the problem was because I was using XP Pro and they were XP Home users. When I tried implementing the solution of granting the guest account network access from the local security policies menu, after I closed the window, the guest account would be removed again. Eventually I ended up reinstalling with Home edition but now a couple days later I am experiencing the same problem ("Logon Failure: The user has not been granted the requested logon type at this computer"). I downloaded the Windows Resource Kit Tools and used these commands:

net user guest /active:yes
ntrights +r SeNetworkLogonRight -u Guest
ntrights -r SeDenyNetworkLogonRight -u Guest

to enable the guest account but still no access. Please help me before I go crazy trying to figure this out.

A:Unable to view shared folders (two XP Home machines)

I logged in in safe mode under the administrator account and ran the ntrights commands again. Now when I try to logon I get a user/pass prompt but when I logon I get the same error message. I am absolutely at a loss. BTW, does anyone know what causes this problem? It seems like quite a few people have it although I have yet to find another case of someone not being able to access XP Hom from another XP Home machine.

I signed up here specifically because I could not find the answer to my problem anywhere else and thought I'd give it a shot.

I am in the process of transferring everything from my old computer to a slightly less-old Dell Dimension 2400. On the previous computer, a Dell Dimension 8100, the internet worked fine and I was able to do whatever I needed. I formatted the 2400 and installed WindowsXP Pro, it's activated and working fine.

I share a 4-port Linksys router with my roommate, running a cable from the router, which is in his room, into mine. When took the cable from my old computer (where it was working fine) and put it into the new one I became unable to view the internet. Lookoing through Network Connections at the LAN properties it shows as being connected at 100mps and shows the transfer of information as well as the time, although I am unable to use IE or Firefox to surf the net. Both engines tell me that the webpage is unavailable.

The first time this happened I became frustrated and just hooked the old computer back up, where the internet again worked fine. I also know the router is not at fault because I am on my roommate's computer as I type this.

What do I need to do in order for the newer computer to use the connection? I've tried disabling and then enabling, repairing, etc. I'm not a tech wizard about connection stuff.

Do I have spyware? Is there software I might need for that computer?

Thank you very much for any help.

A:Unable to view the internet despite being connected

Go to Start, Run, type cmd and press Enter. Now type ipconfig and press enter. It should report the IP Address for the Local Area Connection. Let us know what this is. It should be along the lines of This will confirm that the router has given you an IP Address.

I recently had a virus removed from my computer. I have Windows 7. After the virus was removed, I noticed that Internet Explorer was missing.

At the time, I didn't realize that IE 10 is embedded in Windows 7. The virus removal software must have disabled IE.

I went to the Microsoft download site and decided to download IE 11 (pre sale download). I figured that IE 11 would remove any previous version of IE and install IE 11

The download (IE 11) did not download completely !

I went to documents/downloads and double clicked on IE10-Windows 6.1-en-us.exe

That brought me to a User Account Control Box which read: Do you want to allow the following program to make changes to your computer. The box listed:

Program Name: Internet Explorer 10 / Verified Publisher: Microsoft Corporation / File Origin: Downloaded from the internet

I clicked on yes

A box came up which read: Internet Explorer did not finish installing. Setup can't continue because a more recent version of Internet Explorer is installed on your computer.

How do I restore IE 10 to my computer ?

A:Unable to view Internet Explorer

There's a couple of ways that you can try -

First go into Windows Update/Installed updates to see if it's listed.

IE10 isn't embedded in Win 7 and is acquired via Windows Update.

You can right click on it and select Uninstall - this will revert you to whichever version you had before the upgrade and after the reboot, try the download again.

A more robust approach is to go Progs & Features/Turn windows features on or off and uncheck its box, but before you do this - you must have another browser installed as you will lose all access to the Internet as you will have effectively uninstalled IE - but give the first method a go first.

Ignore the highlighted red area. In Windows XP (above), when you opened your network connections, at the very top, just like in this picture there was an "Internet Gateway".

I've just recently installed Vista Home Premium 64, and for the life of me, I cannot get that icon to show up in my network connections (or anywhere else, for that matter). From what I can gather from Microsoft's help site, I need to have SSDP Discovery enabled, and it is, but I have no option on my LAN adapter to enable internet connection sharing, which seems to be the other crucial part to getting that icon to show up(or maybe it isn't -- I'm so flustered right now :| ).

I am having problems viewing internet pages. I am getting this
res://ieframe.dll/dnserror.htm#. Please help I have tried a lot of different things but unable to sove this problem.

A:Unable to view internet page

It appears to be a "dns" resolution error of some kind.

If it is happening on multiple pages, try shutting down and removing the power from both your modem and router (if one is used) for a minute or two, then reboot.

Some folks have also gotten this error from enabling the "phishing filter" so you might try disabling that, and you should also try running IE with no add-ons:

run: iexplore -extoff

Some firewalls and security programs may also be a source of the issue, and you can try testing that theory by booting in Safe Mode with Networking.
Further tests might be logging into or creating a different User Account and testing that. If that works, delete all IE history, cache and cookies in the problem account and retest.

Did I change a setting?

I was able to view and delete (at will) temp internet cookies (My computer > Local Disk (C > windows > temp). I would then see the cookies > alt - a - delete. Was able to do this 1x per wk.

Now when I open temp there are files: Cookies/history/temp files. (these may have been there before) When I open any of these files I now get "index.dat file", click on that and I get notepad showing this: client urcache MMF ver 5.2 @ (and something that looks like an E about 15 spaces away from the @. But no cookies are showing.

I feel I probably changed something that may have caused this but have no idea what. Any suggestions????

Still having this problem. Any idea why I'm seeing "index.dat file" in cookies and temp internet folders instead of the list that I used to always see.

I'm able to delete cookies and files in "internet options" still. I just used to do the other as an extra step sometimes - no I can't and I can't figure out why.

i've set the "Deny all add -ons unless specifically allowed in the Add -on List" setting within the internet explorer 8 Windows XP 32bit SP3 , and i'm trying to view pdf files on the following site: www.automation.siemens.com/doconweb/

this doesn't work because no add-ons are allowed, so i enable all add-ons that internet explorer tells me , until i get to the point where only the symbol is shown but ie8 doesn't tell me which add-on causes the trouble. the same behaviour occurs after enabling all add-ons that are shown in the manage add-ons tab.

the same problem exists on the site www.bahn.de , where an add-on is making trouble but ie8 doesn't tell me which one. and also enabling all add-ons doesn't solve it
if anybody got the solution i would be deeply grateful, since i'm seearching for a long time for a solution.

with best regards

Is there a way to get to Twitter's Business Home Page from Twitters regular home page? I thought I did that, and now I cannot find the link or command. Also what are the differences between Twitters regular site verses the business site?

I have had this stupid problem occuring 3 times in the last week on 3 different websites that I'm supposed to do templates for.The first one I figured was because the site was from another country so maybe they blocked my IP.. But now these next two I can't load or view FTP on.I thought it was just an FTP issue but I can't even load the domains in my internet browser at all.I tried Flushing my DNS, ever since I learned how to do it I always wish it is a cure-all. It's not though and I would really appreciate any suggestions.. Could this be a modem problem with our internet router or whatever? When trying to load the websites I get:Connection InterruptedThe connection to the server was reset while the page was loading. When trying to connect to the sites in ftp I get:[20:58:08] SmartFTP v2.5.1006.10[20:58:08] Resolving host name "xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx"[20:58:08] Connecting to xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Port: 21[20:58:29] A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed becauseThe site owner and someone else can view the sites perfectly fine, They're online and running. It's definetly me and it's not an FTP problem.. I don't think.

I'm running WinXPSP3 With Internet Explorer 8

So i'll state the reason why I'm asking so as to make this more clear, and then I'll state the problem.

I had an account on a page (I can locate the HTML document in my IE history and I believe I located it in my temporary internet files). It had text written on that page. My account was deleted by the administrator by accident, but all my text is lost. I need that text on the page back.

So I am wondering if there is a way to view websites completely through your internet history or temp internet files. I've located the particular page in my internet history and confirmed the date of it is before my account was deleted, so if the history in fact saves the websites as is, it should be saved to my hard drive. But when I open it it only redirects me to the new updated page. I suspect that the history in Internet Explorer is only a record of URL's and not actually saved websites (html documents). But I thought the temporary internet files might have it. However when I opened what I believe is the page from in there, again, it only opens to the new page. If I disconnect my internet and try opening these I only get a blank page because I'm not connected.

So again, does history/temp internet files actually STORE the website and text from a webpage to your computer where you can get it back, or will it only redirect you to the page as it currently is by way of acting as a link? I know that pictures and other stuff get sav... Read more

I promised myself I'd find the solution to this.. and I think I did, but my laptop is not cooperating..So b4 I keep going , I thought I'd ask :D...

Although my laptop Dell Vostro running XP would connect with no problem to my belkyn wireless router with no problem. I couldn't find wireless routers in my selection when I would go to a friend's house for example..

I found the solution to that:Start -> run -> typed "services.msc" -> and made sure that wireless zero configuration was "start" / enable...
I close that window and go into run -> "ncpa.cpl" -> ok -> view available connetions then refresh. I go to network settings ( I am in the wireless network window at this point), click "change advanced setting" ->advanced --> windows network --> and I click "use windows to configure my wireless network settings"...

After that, I can connect to the internet, but it keeps disconnecting after just a few seconds...

Reading on a solution, it says download updated drives...but I went to dell an the latest drivers are from 2007 or 2008... So there are no drivers to update.. At one point a few months ago I know I caused this when I went in and deleted all my neighbors's network connections. I did something wrong, b/c not even my own belkyn would show up, even though I connected fine...

Any ideas? Should I just d/l the drivers?

Thank you

A:Internet connection keeps disconnecting / WAS can't view wireless networks..

Won't hurt to reinstall the drivers . . even if they are not real new.

After that, thenext time is does not work, Download and run this Xirrus Wi-Fi Inspector, click the Networks link on the upper left and paste a screen shot of that screen here. Note that this application requires NET Framework to run. If you get an error about a missing function, download and install NET Framework.

To post a screen shot of the active window, hold the Alt key and press the PrtScn key. Open the Windows PAINT application and Paste the screen shot. You can then use PAINT to trim to suit, and save it as a JPG format file. To upload it to the forum, open the full reply window and use the Manage Attachments button to upload it here.

For the past three or four days, I've been unable to connect to Twitter. TweetDeck displays the column titles and it will show/connect my Facebook newsfeed, but all Twitter-related posts are not loading. This is on Chrome, Firefox, and Internet Explorer. Thinking it might be something I did inadvertently, I performed two system restores without fixing the problem. I've deleted cookies and browsing histories on both Chrome and my main Internet Options. I even tried on the other laptop in the house and had no luck there, either. Every other website I've tried to access loads without a problem.

I'm at a loss as to what is making Twitter, specifically not connect to my computer and would appreciate any help.

ETA: I have a Dell Inspiron E1505 and am using XP. The other computer on the network is Vista.

Here is my problem, up untill today i was having no problems with my computers. I setup the network myself and i could share files and printers from both computers. I was sharing an internet connection via and internet connection sharing gateway. Today it all stopped working. I reset up my network using the xp wizard and enabled the connection sharing. Now my network seems to be going only 1 way. From the host computer i can see shared files on the client computer but from the client computer i cant access the host computer. When i enable the connection sharing and then reconnect my dial up connection it will share it will pop up on the client computer and say there is a internet gateway, when i go to use any internet programs (explorer, msn or anything else) i dont get any response and then after a minute or two the internet connection sharing icon in the tray disapears while the internet is still connected on the host computer and i can not get it back untill i disable the connection sharing then enable it again and reconnect my dial up connection.

I am using the ip adresses
HOST ip subnetmask
CLIENT ip subnet

also i have tryed with auto ip setting, when i use automated ip setttings i get "limited or no connectivity" message on the client computer also under the administrative tools/local security settings/user rights assignment i have enabled "Everyone" under allow access to this computer option?
