Play sound file constantly after boot or login constantly

Q: Play sound file constantly after boot or login constantly

Hi

I am looking a way to play a sound file, in this instance WAV file constantly after boot up or login

I have disabled windows sound login and added nnnn.WAV in the startup folder.

It plays and loops fine but pops up with the Windows Media Player, in this case.

I want it to continue playing but silent mode without Windows Media Player popping up.

I have seen HTML TAGS to do it, maybe do it that way and exec it from bat or vbs file on startup of

pc/laptop

Thanks in advance

Preferred Solution: Play sound file constantly after boot or login constantly

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

If you cant find a better way, maybe rename the standard login sound as mmm.old and replace it with your wav file, then re-enable standard windows sounds.

Hi there, my dad's laptop, an Acer Aspire 7763z-4809 running Windows 7, has one of the most bizzare problems I have ever seen.

He described the problem to me as the screen constantly flipping around and changing orientation all by itself. By pressing the arrow keys you can also flip it manually... sometimes.

I turned on the on-screen keyboard to find out that Ctrl and Alt are constantly being held or toggled. Alt and Ctrl can sometimes be temporarily disabled by just pressing those keys, but they will just toggle on (pressed) again, or flicker between being pressed and not pressed. On top of that, whatever is going on seems to really like flipping the screen upsidedown, or just flip it in random directions (but usually upsidedown). I guess it is doing this with the ctrl+alt+arrowkey hotkey combination (which I didn't think was enabled...). And on top of this, it seems to be pressing right click a lot (or some equivalent), because context menus often come up.

Bizzare, right? The laptop is extremely hard to navigate, because it has a mind of its own. Between the screen flipping, ctrl and alt being toggled at random, and context menus going haywire, it's a complete mess.

It seemed to be lacking a virus program, so I was able to very awkwardly get Microsoft Security Essentials installed (just typing "MSE" into google was hard, let alone installing the software) and I ran a scan. Problem persists.

My computer first started with unexpectantly turning off if it was on hibernation for a long time or wouldn't get out of hibernation. And when it would turn back on it, it would put me into the safe mode menu and then there would be a window that popped up that stated: unexpected turnoff possible bluescreen. I didn't really think much of it because my battery couldn't be snapped in all the way at that time because my son dropped my laptop. Then this problem turned into restarting by itself. Then to restarted and would load up to the screen before the login and then restart and do this continuously. I can get into the start menus but not put it in safe mode. I did a MBAM scan. is my computer fixable? Thank you in advance.

You might want to try a Clean Boot troubleshooting procedure to hopefully isolate an offending application. Run it for both Services and Startup items.

Another thing you can try:

Download the free Process Explorer.

Run it and click Find.

Click Find handle or DLL...

Search for \device\harddisk.

See if any of the search results might have a reason to be accessing the USB drive.

For security reasons, auto-play is not a good idea. There are infections that specifically take advantage of flaws in the system.

You should also enable recovery points, it can be a life-saver if something goes wrong.

You may want to try disabling it and then re-enabling it for specific drives or types of files to see if that will help with your issue:

I recently moved to a new location and set up my computer.

Somewhere between BOOT and Windows XP starting up, my computer suddenly freezes. Sometimes it's delayed long enough for me to log into XP, only to crash a few seconds later. I assumed that maybe I attached something incorrectly, and checked the wires. They are fine.

Before my move, the computer never gave such problems. It's difficult for me to figure out exactly what to do or how to fix it when I can only use the computer properly for about a minute or so.

For a while, I tried going into Safe Mode or using a System Restore to move the computer back to a point where this issue did not occur. That worked for a time, and now it does not. The only way for me to use my computer now is to log into Safe mode with networking, and when I'm done, set the PC to stand by.

Another issue there - my computer refuses to stand by.

It would show off only to start right back up again on its own, and once the Welcome screen is displayed, either I can't type anything or the computer freezes.

I'm not sure why this is happening. Is there any solution to this?

Hello, I am having an issue with the headphone jack in conjunction with the inline remote on headphones.  As soon as I plug in headphones with an inline remote, it starts to play my media program(s).  When I use the pause function in the application, it will start playing again in 5-15 seconds (depending on the application).  I have to exit the program or unplug the headphones to stop the media from starting. I have tried this with multiple desktop media applications (e.g. Spotify, Netflix) and multiple brands of headphones (e.g. Xiaomi, Samsung, Astra).  The same behaviour is observed in all cases. The behaviour does not occur when there are no headphones connected or when the headphones have no inline remote.  I also tried bluetooth speakers and headphones with remote functionality and they did not display the behaviour. At this point, I am worried it is a flaw in the jack itself.  The laptop is brand new (received less than a week ago). Any help would be very much appreciated.

I can be watching a video fine, but if I pause for too long the video will not resume playing. If I restart the computer it plays fine again. Sometimes the videos will play but there will be no audio. Once again, restarting the computer helps. Othertimes the video wont play at all until I restart the computer. It has gotten to the point where I'm restarting my computer mulitple times while I do my online classes. It's starting to drive me insane. Please help!

check event viewer (type eventvwr in search) for critical errors (they have red in the left column) that say app hang, app crash, or anything related to sound

when you find them use the built in snipping tool to make a screen shot, and up load it to us using the attachment icon (shaped like a peper clip ) in the reply form

There is a very annoying issue with my Windows 8.1 Pro 64 bit. For some unknown reason sound stops working several times a day.
Audio usually crashes when I start, pause/unpause or stop a video (XBMC, KMPlayer, Youtube), music, game, or anything that involves sound. The only thing what can make audio work again is restarting Windows Audio Service.
This crash does not happen in every case, only several times a day.

One more interesting symptom: when I listen to music on foobar2000 and audio crashes, then the playback of music doesn't stop, sound is still working (only on foobar2000, anywhere else it stops), but I cannot change the volume inside foobar2000. Once I stop the music stream and try to start it again, then the sound does not work at all in foobar2000 either.

This problem exists on laptop's built in speaker, audio jack and HDMI output too.
Interesting though, when sound is on HDMI output and crashes, Windows system sounds (such as sound for UAC prompt) are still working, but they are outputted to the built in laptop speaker.

My laptop is ASUS K55VJ
Previously I had Windows 8 installed, it didn't have the issue. This is a clean Windows 8.1 install, not an upgrade from Windows 8.

I have been looking for the solution for months, but haven't found it yet. Reinstallation of drivers does not help.

Anybody else having similar issue?
If so, have you found a solution, or just an explanation of what is causing this?

A:Sound constantly crashing on Windows 8.1

I have exactly the same issue and have seached everywhere to find more about the problem / fix. This is the only thread that explains exactly what i experience with my audio too. I need to restart AudioSrv all the time after Video/Pause/Game bla bla.

My Sys: Windows 8.1 - Realtec Audio Drivers.

The weird part is also, when i completly restart windows, it usually takes more time until audio crashes again (e.g. whole day without a crash). Running parallel sound applications crash the audio faster (e.g. Youtube Video on Pause & Running a Game ). It's just an estimate how it feels. Can't proove though...

Ok, I need a little help here. Lately, I have noticed that my sound levels in my Volume Mixer keep lowering to the lowest level.
I have an ASUS Rampage II Extreme MOBO that came with a Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi MB PCI-E Sound card.

The problem is, when I'm in a game or anything else, my "Applications" in the Volume Mixer most of them all go to the bottom. I can't get them to stay up top=loud. I have gone to the Control Panel>>Sound>>Communications and changed that to do nothing. (It basically says, windows can automatically adjust the volume of different sounds when you are using your PC to place or receive telephone calls.)

I am using a Logitech G930 and their software. I do believe it is some sort of software issue that is taking control of my audio, but not sure what.

Has anyone else experienced this issue?
Does anyone have a fix?

It bothers me cause when I am in a game, the game sound goes way down automatically and in the game settings, it is on High. I use Teamspeak a lot and have checked those settings and eveything seems to be fine.

I finished building a new PC today and, after showing off a game to a friend, settled in to finish some of the finer details- getting an anti-virus, formatting my partitions, and user settings and the like.

I was watching some videos on Youtube when I realized that the 'uploads' playlist was not there. A video I looked for had a code to add to the end of the URL to add said playlist back.

For reference, that code was &feature=mfu_in_order&list=UL.

After putting it in, Adobe updated itself. Since then it has been crashing fairly consistently, on every new page at least once, and all sound on my computer seems to have been shut off.

I am about to restart my PC and see if that fixes it, but I am uncertain; hence why I am posting here for help.

When I click to unmute it, it will automatically mute itself again but I will hear music or an ad playing for a brief moment before it mutes.

What is this? How do I make it stop? I just noticed this today, but I also have noticed that since yesterday chrome has been triggering my Norton's "high cpu usage" warning.

Here is a puush of the two sound levels.

Additional information: I have a Logitech USB Headset H390, Running Windows 8.1

A:Sound only works when I constantly change my volume

With a USB headset the Headset or its software controls the volume, not the PC's audio.

According to Logitech, no extra drivers are needed as it is "plug and play".

Recycle the Headset and see if that helps. Plug it in then go to the Device Manager, RIGHT click on the entry for the headset to highlight it and then Left click "Uninstall". Then disconnect the headset from the PC and restart the PC. After Windows starts, plug it in and Windows should detect it and install it like a new install.

I think explorer is the program using the file.

So how do I delete it?

Hi,

I have a pc with Windows XP with SP2 installed. My computer has generally worked fine with little issues, but the other day Norton flagged up a virus issue. The virus was called Trojan.Patchep!inf, and couldn't be removed using Norton.

Naturally, I'd have posted this in the malware removal/HJT forum, but I'm now locked out of my system.

I need a way to be able to get into Windows before I can pull off any HJT logs or run any applications.

The issue I have, is when Windows is loading up. I turn on my computer, and Windows boots up until the scrollbar/loading page. The computer then automatically reboots, and the cycle continues until I just hold the off button to turn off the computer. I've entered the boot menu and attempted the reboot in Safe Mode, and also tried using last working configuration. This has no effect, and still results in the constant restarting of the system.

I don't have a Windows XP disc as it was pre-installed when I bought the computer.

For the time being I can boot from disc using Linux Ubuntu. I read about the virus that infected my system, which suggests that files such as winlogon are affected by the virus, which would explain my problems booting. Would it be possible to repair these files from Ubuntu, allowing me to boot the computer with Windows? I can then start a thread in the malware forum, posting HJT logs etc.

Thanks for any help,

Simon

Hey this is my first time on the forum so I'm not sure what I should start off by listing here. A few days ago my computer started acting a bit wonky, certain applications running slowly and eventually crashing. I assumed this was caused by some sort of Trojan or other virus and I scanned my computer with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and MSE. Nothing came up for MBAM but there were three issues with MSE, two I then rooting in some java app. I thought this was the issue but it continued. The computer starts up fine and I haven't had BSOD so far, but not application, even explorer browsers, freeze up within 30 seconds of use.
The issue with the sound lagging was just at first noticed with a few games I played. The announced messages would stutter for a minute even though it was a 3 second phrase.
I'm posting this from my phone because I'm running a chkdsk scan on my computer again, but nothing showed up the first time.
Anyone have any idea what I should do? Or provide info for to help?

Morse-code sounds constantly come out directly from the computer. I know this because I have muted the audio, and also plug in the headphone jack. However, the "di, di, di" morse-code like sounds still come out.  Lenovo system update has suggested nothing to update. And I have seen people discussing this since 2007. Some say it's the phone nearby, but I have tried to move the phone out 5 meters away, not muting the morse-code sounds; I have shut down nearby laptops, not seem to work... While using the old T420, I have never noticed such morse-code sounds. Somehow, this X1 carbon does. Have you encountered similar issues? Will the morse-code sounds go away after running for say 10 mins?

My laptop is in perfect condition. I haven't dropped it ever and I haven't even downloaded anything for a couple days now. Today when I turned on my satellite L300D, it started emitting a high frequency sound and as I am typing this right now I am still hearing it. How do I make the sound stop coming? The sound is coming from the "spine" of the laptop where the screen and keyboard are connected.

I have already tried removing the battery for a while and then putting it back in, nothing changed. I also tried using my laptop without the battery while it's plugged in but still nothing.

What I did find was that when I adjust my screen brightness, the sound either gets louder (if I increase the screen brightness) or quieter (if I decrease the screen brightness). Even with the screen being as dark as can be, I still hear the sound.

Any help is appreciated. Thank you!

Hi Everyone.
I just finished cleaning my computer from a recurring rootkit and zeroaccess etc.  Reading and using some of the tools on this site certainly helped me through the ordeal.  That is why I came here today, as I have a problem trying to run Adobe After Effects.  I got an error 16 message.See Attached  Which basically is a permission problem.
It states I should go to my file explorer and go to C:\ProgramDataAdobe\SLStore and uncheck the read only attribute, also set the appropriate permissions.  Which I duly did to no avail.  The read only will not uncheck (See Attached)
I have tried the micosoft forum which gave me a couple of ways to keep the read only unchecked, none of them worked.
I took ownership of the file.  (using the neat tool available on this site).  I am at a loss at what to do next.

I need the After effects program, now way of downloading it, until I get this out of the way.

I would really appreciate any input from the forum members.

A:folder constantly checked as "Read-Only File

At first glance it would appear you either still have an infection, or the infection you did have made changes to your permissions folder. Hitman Pro might help you, I'm not sure- it has an option for repairing files that are corrupted by rootkits.

Assuming  you've checked these pages:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/256614
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/326549
http://itexpertvoice.com/home/fixing-the-windows-7-read-only-folder-blues/

Something else you might try: (from another site)

I fixed this issue by going into the "Sharing and Security Settings" for the folder and checking "Share this folder on the network" AND "allow network users to change my files". I was also logged into both computers using the same user name.

I am working on a sony vaio with vista that is taking about 8 minutes to boot and then after it boots the hd is constantly being accessed. I have run virus scans of all sorts but have come up with nothing. I have also stopped all the processes I could safely stop on startup.
Any ideas of why this is taking so long to boot or what is making the hd run constantly? I fear I have a virus or malware that is not showing up in scans.

Here is log from Highjack This.

and 2 gb of corsair dominator DDR2 1066 ram (2X1gig sticks)
i kept my original hard drive and Optical drive, and hooked everything up. and of corse my system wouldnt boot up, i then wiped my hard drive and got a new instalation disk for windows xp home, i reinstalled windows and it goes to the loading screen for windows xp and then it restarts itself. im assuming its a hardware problem just not quite sure what it is, i did try taking out one of my 8800 gt's and no difference im not quite sure what its, i was thinkin something had a short or i didnt hook something up corectly i checked all the cables and everything seems to be in the correct place and no loose connections but it is possable i missed something. i did start taking note of the error codes on my mobo.
i did have a problem with the cpu over heating runnin at an insanely high temp, i reset the heat sink and of corse new thermal paste just a lil dab and its runnin at around 45c during boot up. some of the error codes i got are ... its all the ones i could c they changed pretty fast i restarted it a few times to get um. but may have missed 1 or 2

I am really having a bad time right now. The problem is, I when I boot up then it says it can not access desktop. Secondly, after right clicking the folders it takes a lot of time to execute. Frequently not responding error message. Windows start button is not even working properly. Even a fresh windows is not solving this. I have changed my motherboard and hard disk but problem still remains. I have also checked gpu and ram in the other machines. They are working fine. But I can not figure out what is causing this problem. I would be very delighted if any of the solutions come to me.

Thanks in Advance.

The sound with both speakers/ headphones on my laptop is constantly making "popping" sounds, and sometimes it even stutters - very aggressively and without putting any load on the laptop - even with a simple mp3 playback.I've tried EVERYTHING - Realtek / Lenovo / Windows drivers, uninstalled Windows, wasted so much precious time on it.This is the second damaged unit I get from lenovo in a month's time. I hope they can provide a quick solution for this problem, or else I'm returning this laptop and never buying / recommending Lenovo ever again.

I've been getting constant pop-ups on my toolbar saying everything is infected. My internet still seems to work fine, but opening things on my computer is impossible. I've got lots of icons in the bottom right of the toolbar, all yellow, all saying that a file is in infected and every now and again I get a pop-up, a loud trumpet sound, and it says along the lines of "you are infected. do you want to open your anti-virus software?"
I have been looking around some forums and used an Rkill.com file which immediately stopped all these pop-ups but I'm sure it hasn't just killed all the infection.

Hi, I've used this forum many years to find advice, now I'm stuck and need to ask a question (hopefully in the right section):

My Window File Explorer is constantly crashing (say at least 10 times a day!). This happens mostly when I open file directories which contain image files, some directories with thumbnails, some without. Occasionally it happens in other directories too. It's bloody not helping to get anything done.

System: Windows 7 Pro 64bit

History: my previous computer had hardware problems, went back and forth to ASUS 3 times, in the end there wasn't much left to change (first display, then harddisk, then motherboard plus SSD). At a late stage of this back-and-forth I tried to back up my data with Paragon, but failed (the was an i/o conflict - reason ASUS changed the motherboard), so I simply copied all contents of my D-drive onto an external harddisk (WD MyPassport). I finally received an exchange computer from ASUS and copied the entire contents back onto D. Ever since my File Explorer is crashing constantly, specially when I try to open any directory which contains images or graphic files. These crashes occur since day one after I moved the files back onto the freshly installed (and virgin) Windows system!

I have since tried all sorts of fixes (like clear and reset the thumbnail cache via disk cleanup, run Ccleaner, TuneUp 2014, etc.), but I seem to get nowhere.

Currently I cannot do a system repair from DVD, because both my system copies on DVD and my ext... Read more

A:File Explorer crashing (constantly), mostly in directories with images

The same thing happened on my machine and after identifying and deleting all corrupt image files the problem remained. The solution for me was to move all user created video files onto an external HD.

Anyway in your case it looks like the culprit is one or more corrupt image files.

Look at item 7 in this article for confirmation.

Windows Explorer Has Stopped Working Fix | gHacks Technology News

If you need help in identifying corrupt images I'll post a link to the software that I use but a simple solution would probably be to suspect the folder that you just opened when explorer crashed.

The general performance is very slow and feel there may be a virus present.

Also have a few messages pop up and say that they have failed "GetEntryPoint" and can't seem to remove DaemonTools from, the system.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi, I have a virus that constantly brings the computer back to its start-up sequence. I'm not able to login i.e. eventually I hit a blue screen and will loop back to the beginning. I'm pretty sure its the same problem as this person already posted about in the link below. I'm having a little trouble following the sequence of steps to fix the problem. It seems like the person accessed the infected hard drive with another computer and was able to run some diagnostics to find the corrupted file. Can someone help me go through it? I'm not super computer savvy but know the basics.

I don't really have another computer at home to work on the infected computer/hard drive. It seems like I need to edit the registry and delete this infected file. Is there a way to do this from the infected computer?

situation: Assigning pc to static ip of router (wrt54g) ie; 192.168.1.xxx default gateway, and primary dns as 192.168.1.1

problem: upon bootup the network can not find the proper route and has to diagnose/troubleshoot to fix the problem, which was a nag every time and gadgets like weather and such would not be updated until this was resolved. If leaving network to dhcp the problem would not occur or nag. Yes dhcp set on router.

solution: simple really, going to nvidia's site and installing the latest nforce4 platform drivers fixed the problem (which i think is just a reinstall of the drivers as i think they are the same that are packaged with win7 7000. Have not checked this yet to confirm
