Q: Lenovo yoga 910 IKB system update issue

Starting this morning, my Lenovo Yoga 910 IKB appears to go through a system update . It has been going on for quite some time, the update takes up to 30% of the CPU and my battery life has decreased substantially. In addition, it says that it is a Lenovo System Update(32 bit), while I know that my system runs on 64 bit. My questions are:1. How long should a system update take?2. Is it normal that the system update is 32 bit?3. If it is not normal, how do I stop the system update and how do I run a 64 bit one?Thank you!

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

So basically my laptop has a brightness function key and before the update to Windows 1903 it used to gradually increase making it look really smooth but whenever I press it now it increases in increments making it feel so jagged and laggyany idea if a fix for this issue exists?

Since you have to hunt around different Lenovo sites (and other sites) to find out about these softwares, I decided to make a post to get feedback from actual Yoga owners on how these programs interact, what they do, which ones are prerequisite, and which ones are unnecessary. Please don't take this as a blanket answer. This is just what I have found. It might be right - it might be wrong. I'm looking for others to post their experiences as well. Lenovo System Interface Foundation Driver - Necessary prerequisite (missing driver in device manager without it). It allows the Lenovo Utility and Lenovo Companion to work. Lenovo Yoga Mode Control - Necessary if you want to use your yoga to seemlessly change between all the different modes (laptop, tablet, tent, stand). This software is responsible for autorotating and putting Windows into tablet mode. Lenovo Utility - Recommended(?) This one I'm not too sure on. I remember that I was missing some function that I wanted but I can't remember what it was now. Maybe battery cycle count and health? Lenovo Companion - I don't have this one installed and don't think it's necessary but would like someone else to shed some light here.

I recently did a Windows 10 update to my Lenovo Yoge Ideapad  11 S on July 16th and now my touch screen does not work. When I check the drivers for my monitor and touch screen I noticed the driver was missing. I cannot get Lenovo or Microsoft to fix this. What else can I do to get that driver back ?

From what I can see, your unit does not seems to have made the list, which leads me to believe that this will be the cause of the issue, I would recommend that you revert back to the previous version of Windows, and observe if the fault still occurs or not.

Hello, In our organization we have a VPN client that is sensative to driver versions.  We have noticed Lenovo System Update is only updating the Lenovo T470 Wireless-AC 8265 drivers to a certain point and has stopped.  That we could tell there did seem to be a problem as previously there was a rapid succession of updates for our T470's and the wireless NICs to a certain point.T470 - 20HES09L00 Would it be possible to have this driver updated? 2018/09/03 - v20.70.3.3 - Lenovo2019/03/06 - v20.120.1.1 - Intel  Thank you,Tony H.

I noticed this apparent divergence on my T480, so I manually installed thev20.120.1.1 driver direct from the  Intel site. When it got done installing, Device manager (Windows 10 Pro 64-bit) reported that I STILL was using the same version as offered by Lenovo:  v20.70.3.3 - Lenovo

I bought the Lenovo Yoga 900 a week ago. So far I'm quite happy with the Laptop , but there's one problem I have. The Fan starts spinning wildly every so often . And this drains my battery real quick. I get only about 4-5 hours . It happens while surfing using fiefox / chrome / edge. Task Manager shows that the CPU/ MEMORY Usage of the browsers is extremely high , in turn driving my cpu to a utilization of above 60% with no other apps running .This is a serious bummer , and I have no clue as to what can be done . As if this isn't enough , Windows Compatibility Telemetry is another service that occasionally causes a spike in the CPU usage. That I understand is a Windows issue. But the fan is quite disturbing. Any suggestions would be great  Thanks

Some days ago I couldn't open my .ost file in Outlook. One of my colleagues advised me to make conversion. When I was converting .ost to .pst via ost to pst conversion tool, my laptop stopped working, I rebooted it. At next launch I couldn't get any access to my data in .ost. I purchased a Lenovo Yoga 700-11ISK six days ago.  Like others posts I have read, I too have noticed a strong unpleasant odour eminating from the exterior of my computer.  The smell is mainly coming from the top lid (screen) of the computer.  It reminds me of the smell cats leave when they have 'sprayed' their territory.  If the PC has been in a room all day, the smell is quite overpowering when I come home in the evening.   I was thinking of wiping the surface but I do not want to cause any damage until I have received advice on the matter.

Hello - Have a Yoga 3 Pro that has suddenly decided not to charge. Has been working fine until recently... life of charged battery has been normal and the charging time has been normal as well. I swapped out chargers, and the new one did not work, so I'm assuming it is an issue with the connector on the laptop body. When I push the power button, the orange light blinks three times and nothing else happens. Is there any way to get this to charge, even if temporarily? Thanks in advance.

So I have a Lenovo Yoga 720 that is about 2 months old which was originallly not charging when plugged in (it said it was plugged in and discharging) and it was associated with phantom taps/clicks of the touch screen all over the place. I resorted to replugging in the charger and restarting the machine to see if it would fix it and sure enough it fixed the phantom touch screen tap issue but the charging issue kind of remains. When it is plugged in the battery monitor in Windows 10 says that it is at 11 percent currently but then when I take the charger out the percentage jumps higher and says that it is at 13 percent. And the same thing happens over and over again as a repeated process. Any idea what could be the issue and what steps can be taken to fix this??

Hi, I posted here awhile ago and no one has been able to help with the issue. I have a problem with my Yoga 700 where I have to constaltly disconnect/reconnect to my wifi network--typically when I am using multiple tabs or browsing while streaming. I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling my WIFI driver and have had no success. How can I fix this?! thanks

Dear Lenovo-team, I have an issue with my Yoga 720-13IKB (Type 81C3) Laptop.First, is it normal that the right hinge is only on the right connected to the frame?And second, the little black plastic square left to the left hinge and right to the right hing is moveable almost loose. Is that correct? Best,SF

I just bought a new Lenovo YOGA 500 IntelŽ HD Core? i5 Processor, 8Gb RAM, 1Tb Storage, 15.6 inch Full HD Touchscreen 2-in-1 Laptop. I'm yet to take it out of the packaging (thank heavens) before I noticed on the website I bought it from under Features of the Laptop it states:  Wifi Enabled: NDoes this mean there's no WiFi capabilities on the laptop? Secondly, after perusing this forum, I've discovered the laptop seems to have a WiFi issue, the question thus is would any of you with the same laptop advise I keep it? Thanks

I have a Lenovo Yoga 2 laptop just over a year old. My Autistic little man was happily playing Roblox when it crashed. He turned it off and on again and the laptop says repairing disk errors and just stays like that day and night. So I have bought Windows 10 on USB as it doesn't have a disk drive but and I stupidly thought it would be as simple as plugging it in the USB drive and hey presto it would be fixed. But it's not.

Could anyone explain the steps I need to take to fix it as I promised my son I'd get it done by now and when you set an Autistic child's expectations and you don't meet them, woe betide you!

I just got the laptop on 9/20/17 and I quickly noticed the touchpad has delay response on google chrome browser and other apps. When i try to copy/paste the words on the browser it has 2-3 sec delayed to highlight and when scrolling and moving the pad it is frozen for a second. I did update the firmware and raised sensitivity but nothing works. anyone knows what the problem is before i exchange this laptop?

So I have a new Lenovo Yoga 710 14". When I use the webcam on messenger to chat with my wife, I can see myself, I can hear her, but I cannot see her. It's just a black screen. My wife can see me perfectly through her phone so I know it's something on my end. Any idea what it could be? I mean, I can hear her but can't see her

I have a Lenovo Ideapad Yoga 13, which came with an i5-3337U processor, 4GB RAM and 128SSD. I replaced the ram with http://www.integralmemory.com/sites/default/files/uploads/dpdf/IN3V8GNAJKXLV.pdf as I often found that 4gb wasn't enough. My laptop is now running at about 60 degrees celcius for each core. I don't know what it was before as I hadn't measured it before, but the fans sound louder. Have i installed ram that isn't compatible or something? It runs well and multitasking is now better, it just seems louder and hotter than before. Thanks in advance.

So here is a new thing that happens with this Yoga 700.It was on my desk in lap top mode and i was away. i came back and had to log in to windows.When i logged in, the screen was sideways.  Another time it was flipped upside down.  This is not due to moving it. it was just on my desk with no change to it.  So add this to the list of weird things this pc does.  This would go under annoying.  the slow wifi connections would be more annoying though.

I don't know if this will help you or not, but when I upgraded my yoga 2 pro to windows 10, I had to go into device manager and manualy update the graphics drivers. Windows would not do it automatically. Maybe that would help fix your issue.

Hi all,  I have bought 2 weeks ago an Lenovo Yoga 2 13, and I?m very happy with it. But i have one annoying problem with it.The touchscreen is not working correct. If I start the computer up, the first 5 minutes it works fine, but after that the touchscreen is not responding correct, the pointer is going everywhere and zig zag. You can't use it anymore then. I have made a paint drawing to show the problem, i made a few horizontal lines over the screen. none of the lines are straightI hope that you can help me to resolve the problem, it?s very annoying that I can?t use the touchscreen.

We own a Lenovo Yoga 910 and in the last couple days, it is no longer able to charge.  The battery is currently at 13%.  The following 4 situations happen when the power cable (lenovo 45w usb c that came with the laptop) is plugged into the laptop.1) The laptop does not recgonize that the power cable is plugged in at all. 2) In rapid succession, the laptop acts as if the cable is being plugged in and unplugged over and over. The power cable icon will display for about a second, then dissapear, then display, then dissapear, etc.  It will even change the brightness of the screee as it attempts to switch power modes from battery to power.  The only way to stop this behavior is to unplug the cord completely. 3) The laptop shows that the power cord is plugged in, but states that the battery is currently discharging.4) The laptop shows that the power cord is plugged in, says its charging, but the battery continues to drain even though it says it is charging. Windows 10 is fully up to date.  We have run all Lenovo software updates so all Lenovo software is up to date.  The BIOS is also up to date (the June '17 BIOS).  There have been no recent new software installations or physical impacts / changes to the laptop. I have purchaced a 3rd party charger that matches the specs of the Lenovo charger and the same 4 situations happen.  I have confirmed that the charger works to charge other devices. I'm experiencing an issue with my Lenovo Yoga 720. I got it in February, this issue has persisted mostly the whole time I've had it, although it took me a while to figure out what the issue was.  There is a patch of screen that doesn't recognize pen input properly, near the middle of the screen, right where I draw. I thought it was palm recognition so I bought gloves, got Lenovo to replace the pen, which was fraying after only a few months of use, until I realized it always happens in the same place and no where else.I sent it in for repair and they claimed "no issue" through email, but I described the issue again thoroughly and they replaced the screen. It seemed to work initially but then stopped working again almost right away.I sent it in for repair a second time, and they sent it back without emailing me saying they could find no issue. I immediately contacted support to complain, spent a long time in remote support as they updated drivers, had me replace pen batteries, and I kept checking the issue, it repeated the same every time. It's still an issue, I had to leave for work. I talked to another service representative today and I guess I'm sending it away for repair a third time. I am so frustrated, this computer was so expensive and it's been broken for the purposes I purchased it for the whole time I've had it. My keyboard will not type on my Lenovo Yoga 2,  when I uninstall the driver and restart it does work, however, as soon as my laptop goes into sleep mode it does not work and I have to unistall and restart everytime.  It says I have the most up to date driver, any ideas?

Hi Guys.Need help.I have Lenovo Yoga 2 11 ( 2years old). There was no issue till 2 days back. Have given the issue details below.Details :1. Laptop went into issue - " Windows is not responding" and then got shut down.2. Tried to restart. After booting, the screen did show that "Windows is attempting repair". It was in the same state for more than 24 hours.3. I did a hard shut down and tried to restart. But then it displayed "No Bootable device, hit any key".4. I downloaded Windows Recovery media (Windows 10 X64) to USB and booted from there to fix windows start up issue repair.5. After repair, tried to reboot. Faces the issue (point 3) again and again.6. Looked into the BIOS set up and found that nothing is there under 'EFI section'. The Boot mode is 'UEFI' and not allowing me to edit, so can't change it to Legacy.7. Browsed through Lenovo support forum and other web help for a day, tried everything, but not able to change boot set up or boot from harddrive.8. I thought Hard drive may have been disconnected, but on BIOS Information section, I can see Hard disk information. So it seems hard disk is good. Can anybody help me with valuable input please ? Hi, I purchased new Lenovo Yoga 910. From day one I am facing charging problem.1) When connected to charging USB-C port it does not charge and there is no light2) After some days it began charging and I feel some shock on the laptop3) Now when I connect the charger, the charging light is on but it is not charging instead battery percentage drops. However when I shutdown the laptop the battery percentage increase. Any suggestions to resolve the above.

I just purchased the Active pen 2 for my Yoga 730. I installed the batteries perfectly, and started working immediately in Clip Art Studio. I devoted HOURS into a current project, when suddenly the pen stopped writing. I closed the program, and started immediately looking for clues as to why it stopped drawing. I went to the Lenovo sketchpad and it was working fine. I installed the Lenovo Active pen 2 drivers from the Lenovo website, I've connected and unconnected the bluetooth in the pen, and finally opened the settings in Lenovo and tried to calibrate the pen. Nothing seems to be working.  I then downloaded Krita, thinking that maybe it was just Clip Art Studio, and it seems to be working somewhat. However, it draws sometimes, and then another issue I'm noticing is that if the pen is close to the screen it starts drawing (without it touching the screen) so obviously the picture gets messed up with random spots of pen lines. I pulled up a online drawing page, and tried to use the pen, but I'm getting the same issue. So, I'm certain its a pen error. Has anyone had this issue? do you think its the 2 x sr527sw batteries, as one site suggested? Here's an example of me trying to write in Krita. I have a lenovo yoga 700 14isk laptop and I have some audio issues that I can't solve. The speakers of the laptop are fine but the audio doesn't work whenever I have headphones plugged in. Anytime they're plugged in theres a constant loud static buzzing sound even when nothing is playing.

I have a Yoga 720 that's been having an issue with the screen lately. I'm not totally sure how to describe it except that there are lines going across the screen, and if I switch windows on my screen, the previous one is imprinted for a few seconds and gradually fades. I took pictures of the lines, so hopefully that gives you a better idea. Any help is appreciated.

I have just bought my laptop 2 days ago. It has been updated to windows 10 and now I can't increase or decrease the brightness using the button or in settings as there is no option for this. I have tried what lenovo has suggested with the moniter, however my moniter is a generic non PnP moniter. I am just wondering how to fix this issue. Any help welcome please.

Hi there, I recently got myself a ThinkPag X1 Yoga as a work laptop after previously owning several other ThinkPads. I had the laptop set up by an IT colleague who installed the latest version Windows 10 Enterprise on it. I am having some troubles getting my fingerprint set up now though. Whenever I go the the setup and Windows prompts me to place my finger on the reader, the system crashes with the following messages as soon as I place my finger on the reader:  The system clearly recognizes the fingerprint reader as I get to that stage, and also because the error message only appears as soon as I place my finger on the fingerprint reader. I checked the driver and it's the latest one (6.0.19.1105). I also re-installed the driver but this didn't solve anything either. Could anyone help me with this issue?

I hope this is the correct place to post - did not see a E series in the ThinkPad Board... I am getting an error when trying to update to Lenovo System Update version 5.07.0065.I recently upgraded the computer form Windows 7 to Windows 10. Trying to make sure my drivers were up-to-date I ran across the newer version of the System Update app. When I tried to install, it gave me this error:The old version is now none existant in Programs and Features. Any ideas? I have read about issues that people have been having after upgrading their Yoga 2 to Windows 10. It seems that the "Yellow Issue" occurs again after the update. One solution i saw was to re-install the intel graphics driver and the energy manager in that order. However, I cannot find the energy manager software for the Yoga 2 anywhere after uninstalling it. Is there a download link that anyone has that will fix the issue? Also, is there another solution other than using the energy manager? Seems like a bandaid fix rather than an actual solution from Lenovo...

I have a web-camera issue with my notebook. It doesn't work. It used to work once or twice. But then suddenly something went wrong. Neither works mic. When I opened my windows 10 "Camera" app it said "Can't find camera". I checked device manager for drivers issues and couldn't find anything about camera. So I added a knew device "Lenovo EasyCamera". My "Camera" app still doesn't work. So I tried to fix in with Lenovo Settings. But there is no any camera folder in it. Reinstalling still didn't fix it. Also I tried installing drivers with official Lenovo website. Still nothing.

Hi I have bought Lenovo Yoga 500 14 i3 six months ago. Several months ago on the left side of the screen appeared ghost touches. This ghosts touches were exactly on one line of the screen, it is about 6 centimetres from right edge. I went to warranty center and they changed the screen. Two months has passed. And exactly in the same screen line touch screen stoped to work. Something odd.  I got the Windows 10 Anniversary Update a couple of days ago (Aug 3 2016).I usually keep my screen resolution at 1600x900 (easier on my aging eyes for everyday use).Now I have noticed that when I reboot, my login screen is garbled - only the top-left quarter of the login screen can be seen.  I need to shutdown and restart, and then all is fine.This only happens after a full reboot (not a hibernate), and only seems to be the 1600x900 resolution. 3200x1800 (the native resolution) and 1920x1080 do not seem to exhibit this issue.Note that all three of the above-mentioned resolutions have the same aspect ratio Any ideas?  Is it just me? Thanks!
