DVD drives 'remembering' discs

Q: DVD drives 'remembering' discs

Hi All

I've a minor problem with one of my DVD drives and was hoping that someone might know of a solution. My computer runs off Windows XP Home Edition. I have 2 DVD drives in my computer, (there are also 2 hard drives in the tower) a NEC one and a Pioneer one. In most respects, these two drives work fine independently of, and in conjunction with each other, I've come across no problems so far anyway. I am afraid I can't say how the slave/master relationship works as I've no idea, if it's necessary to know to solve this problem, please let me know how I find out and I'll be happy to provide the info. The only niggling problem is as follows:

My Pioneer drive is the newer, quicker of the two drives, and I use this most of the time, to watch DVDs, play games etc etc. Often I leave a disc in this drive when I shut down my machine. When I turn on my machine again and put another disc in this drive, it still displays the previous disc's contents when I go into explore, and by going to start, run and entering the drive details, it won't start it either. I have to 'wipe' the memory of the disc being in that drive by rebooting. It isn't only limited to a disc being in the drive on booting up either. If the drive was empty, and I put disc A in it, if I later remove it and put in disc B, it still thinks disc A is in there. This doesn't seem to happen with my NEC drive, only the Pioneer one, and the only solution I have found is to reboot, which seems like I am probably doing it the long and crude way.

As an aside, a completely ignorant question, but maybe someone can tell me! I was copying some holiday photos onto a disc for a friend earlier and wanted to name the disc. I was using Nero 6.6.1.4, which I got with the Pioneer drive, to write the disc and I can't find anywhere to name a disc. The same goes for when I was trying to write some film from the holiday to DVD, I just can't seem to find a way to name the disc anywhere. It's probably really obvious, but could someone point it out to me?

Thanks in advance for any help offered!

Preferred Solution: DVD drives 'remembering' discs

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

On my old desktop (a Gateway P2-266... yeah, a dinosaur, I know ), my BIOS does not seem to be detecting or remembering my hard drives. If I go into the BIOS, it says, under primary and secondary master and slaves, none, none, none, none. I manually enter in the information about my hard drives and tell the BIOS to save the settings, but then when it restarts, it still can't find the hard drives (or the CD-ROM, or anything) and everything is, once again, none none none none. What's going on? The BIOS is up-to-date and I don't think it's a battery problem -- the BIOS is still remembering the current date and time correctly -- it just has Memento-style memory loss and can't remember any of my drive settings. Anyone know how I would go about fixing this? Thanks.

Suddenly, following a reboot, neither of my cd drives pick up when they have discs in them. The drives appear in explorer, but regardless of what disc I put in them, they keep claiming to be empty. I have tried putting my boot cd in before startup, but even the 'press any key to boot from cd' prompt has gone; the computer does hang for a while at that point with the drive whirring.

I have tried a different ide cable, still didn't work; and tried this cable on my hard drives, which did. Same tactic with the ide ports on my motherboard.

I tried disconnecting my c: drive, rejumpering d: to master and trying to get the cd to think about installing on there, but no progress there.

Help?

I have a Dell Vostro 200, only 9 months old, as slick and fast as I've needed for the work I do. Running Win XP Pro, have a partitioned internal C/D drive and E/F external CD/DVD drives. All has operated without incident until recently with my external drives. The computer recognizes and sees both drives, but does not see a disc when in either drive, whether it's an audio CD, a DVD, or a software installation disc. It's doing what it should do when there's really nothing in the drive/s. No error message, just sees the drives as empty, but I hear the discs spin when I insert. I searched for any applicable driver updates, and have the latest.. ran diagnostics per Dell, with no error msg reporting. Commonly use flash drives and never have an issue. No other symptoms. I run McAfee's Security Suite asp solution, use some of the PC Tools system cleaning tools, and the drives are physically clean as well. Anyone have any thoughts, suggestions or seen this before? THANKS in advance for any replies.

Hi, first post here

I've recently installed Win 7 Ultimate x64 on both of my PCs, and neither can read my DVD+R discs properly.

I've got dual-boot on both systems, so I've checked and there's no problem at all in XP, but in Win 7 the drive goes crazy, almost like it's trying to read different parts of the disc at the same time. Anyway, it shows the contents but when I click on a folder, that's when it starts chugging and Explorer locks up until I eject the disc.

I did a fresh install of Win 7 into a VHD on PC 2, and that doesn't have any problem reading the discs, so something's happened on both since installing Win 7 I guess. I also used an XP guest in Virtualbox on PC 2 and that could read the discs just fine so it was obviously able to bypass whatever issue Win 7 has.

I had Daemon Tools on both PCs, but uninstalled it completely (including the SPTD driver) on PC 2, which didn't help. Neither did uninstalling Avira Antivir. I've disabled Indexing/Windows Search on both PCs, as well as Win 7's CD Burning function (via Group Policy Editor).

I found this thread cannot access dvd drive and this hotfix FIX: The DVD drive is not recognized after you install Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2 which I've installed on PC 1 to no avail. PC 2 has SP1 installed.

It's obviously rather annoying to have to boot to XP (or use a VM) to copy files from DVD to my hard drive so that Win 7 can access them, so if anyone knows how to fix this problem I'd be most grateful.

Running xp home, have had no issues with either drive until today. Here's what happened:

I upgraded my video card drivers (latest nvidia geforce drivers), and restarted. Everything seemed to be fine.

Next I tried to boot up Madden 2007 which I'd just gotten this weekend and had no problems with... until today. It wouldn't start up, seemingly frozen while trying to start... finally after waiting a few minutes I task manger/ended the program, or tried to. XP seemed to freeze up... I finally got tired of waiting and decided to hit the restart button, but accidentally put it into standby mode instead. I couldn't get it out of standby mode and at that point had to power down and turn the pc back on.

Ever since then, it's been taking longer to boot up, and the worst part is that the cd and dvd drives don't seem to work properly. Windows detects them and reports them as having no problems, etc... everything seems fine, except they don't WORK! I can't get them to open by pushing the open button and they won't recognize any discs in them; I had to use a paper clip and manually force open the drives to put a windows xp cd in the cd drive to attempt a repair... which won't work because instead of booting off the cd rom it boots off of the hd even though in the bios I have cd rom set to boot first before hd.

Hello i recently migrated my system drive from old computer to new one using sysprep procedure described here in seveforums. I successfully restored system in new computer and installed all new drivers. All work fine except one thing. I cant read any disc inserted to my blue ray and dvd drive. Blu ray is brand new and dvd is older. Problem is same on both - any disc I put to drive is not loaded - instead tray open and I have message Insert Disc. Behaviour is same on both drives so its not drive related problem. Both drives are listed in device manager: HL-DT-ST BD-RE BH16NS40 SCSSI cdrom device and HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GH20LS15 SCSI cdrom... NO conflict mark on them. I only wandering why its listed as scsi .. its normally connected via sata 6.

Does somebody know where can be problem ? I tried fix it from microsoft - but it dont fix that. Ran ccleaner to clean registry - but still same. My motherboard is ASUS Z97 DELUXE. Dunno what else should I try ?

hi,

recently replaced an optical drive as i thought it was a shagged cdrom, but basically, ANY DISC i put into the computer, they have stopped running automatically so you go into my computer, and you see the icon has changed for the correct cd i just put in, SOMETIMES, the computer will not let me into that cd to view files, SOMETIMES it will get as far (with a game) as the 'install, play ... etc etc' screen that pops up relating to the disc - so you click something and the optical drive does absolutely nothing further, windows registers sod all and basically the pc acts like there is nothing there after.

when i bought the new cdrom drive, i managed to install battlefield ok, and then went to install red alert and all the other games, and the computer started exactly the same crap as before. you can hear the drive initially fire up the disc, the quiet stage, you see the icon in mypc change ok, and thats it i get absolutely nothing else. and that is from ALL discs now. - so i established that the optical drives are perfectly fine and are not the prob here, its something else somewhere?

anyone know whats going on?

cheers,
max

Hi folks,
Over the past few weeks both my CD-RW and CD drives have been increasingly less likely to recognise any discs. (Cleaning the disc and trying again [often repeatedly] was the only solution i could find)

Initially it started happening on the CD-RW drive with CD-R discs that had not been finalised but it has steadily got worse until this morning when i cannot get them to recognise any discs at all.

Can anyone shed any light on this? Is it simply that the lenses need cleaning and if so what is the best way to do that. Or have the drives slowly died and i need to go shopping?

Thanks for your help,

Hi,
I could really use some input on a problem I recently discovered, 'cause I
am stumped. I put into my DVD+-RW drive a DVD-R disc which I burned on this very same drive a few months back. This is a data disc full of MP3s and
MPEG, AVI files. Unfortunately, the dvd+-rw drive couldnt read it. I am
running Windows XP and went into My Computer and noticed that after
inserting the disc the icon goes from saying "DVD-RW Drive (D" to saying "CD Drive (D" but it does not show any files on the disc. I went through my 100 DVD-R discs (all of them Maxell 4X) and found that 10 of them had this problem, whereas the other 90 DVD-R discs were ok. All of my DVD+R discs seemed to read fine.

However, these discs which my drive could not read all play fine on the standalone DVD player hooked up to my
stereo.
I took a couple of these problematic dvd-r discs to a computer store and noticed that none of the dvd+-rw drives there could read them, each one doing exactly what my own computer had done. But they all read fine on a DVD-ROM drives.

They let me copy a disc on one of the machines that had a DVD-ROM drive in one bay and a burner in the other, and I went home and found that the copy (on a DVD+R disc) read just fine on my computer.

This has all left me a bit puzzled.
Why would the discs work on some drives and not work on others, including the one it was burned on ? Is there a possible explanation for this ? And why, if the problem has to do... Read more

Hello all,
A friend has an older HP desktop that quit reading data CDs. It has a CD burner and a DVD reader. Both are on the secondary IDE channel, configured as cable select. Both are recognized by XP pro; both realize that a disc has been inserted. When I try to explore the DVD reader, it sez 'please insert disc'. The DVD reader will play an audio CD. The CD burner doesn't return an error when I try to explore a data disc--it doesn't do anything.
What I've tried: replacing the IDE cable--no change. Switching both from cable select to master/slave--no change. Putting one at a time on the primary IDE channel with the hard drive with both set to cable select--no change. I tried both in a spare computer--they work perfectly. I put a spare CD drive in the friend's HP--won't read a data disc.
Unless one or more of you have suggestions, I'm about ready to try to repair XP.

Then if that doesn't work, this:

Then if that doesn't work

Start->Run-> sfc /scannow
You may need your Windows CD during the scan (and repair, if any)

If that doesn't work

Good afternoon folks, this is really giving me a headache!

I just got a new laptop (hp dv7 7338ea), a Windows 8 machine. I ran the HP recovery disc creation burner, and it burnt a bunch of DVDs (which you can only do once), and it verified them. Iíve used similar discs before on my old HP laptop when the HDD failed, and what I want to do here is apply these new Win8 restore discs to my new SSD (Samsung 840, http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/components/harddrives-internal/solidstate/128gbandabove/mz-7td250bw.html).

So I swapped the drives over, and booted up the first disc. It went fine, it seemed to be happily able to format and start copying files, and then it asked for restore disc 2.

However, when I put that disc in, it just kicks it out again and continues to ask for disc 2. I put the disc in another machine and it loads fine, I tried copying the image to another disc but it didnít like that either. Google suggests that people have been having this disc 2 issue for a few years across numerous devices, with no solution.....

SO! I thought right, it wonít let me use the discs, maybe Iíll just image my original hard drive and apply that image to the SSD. It took me a while to get the laptop to boot from the CD at all, and when I got Clonezilla running it couldnít even see the HDD I had connected (via USB). It could tell there was something connected to the USB but...yeah.

I managed to use a different machine to copy the HP "Recovery" partition to another ... Read more

Both my CD-RW drive and my DVD-Rom drive fail to recognize discs as they are loaded. Auto-run does not take place and the drive does not spin. The only way to access the disc is to do it manually by clicking on my computer and then the disc drive. the problem im having is really wierd. i recently got my computer set up with a fresh install of windows xp. the first thing i did was "borowed" some games and installed them, using a keygen for one. the one i used a keygen for, bf1942 didnt work. so i installed my legal copies of road to rome and secret weapons of wwii also, and neither of those worked. then i installed a legit copy of generals, and that didnt work either. then MOH:AA and lo and behold! IT DIDNT WORK! now what is really wierd is that they all installed right. no installation problems whatsoever. the problem occurs when i try to play. it says "please insert correct disc and restart application." and this happened with all of them, and i was using the right discs. so i figured it was EA, and installed a legal copy of COD thinking it would work. my hopes and dreams were shattered a racket ball doused in liquid nitrogen and thrown against the wall, (which btw is the coolest thing that i will ever see in my life, and can only be better high). i got the same results every single time on both drives. i have never ever had this problem before.

but what confuses the crap out of me is how it installs and reads music cds, and just wont play... WTF IS GOING ON!

what are the letters of all your active drives? list them and what they are, e.g. hard drive, cd drive, etc

i dont know yet exactly what the culprit is, but i think you might be able to solve it by right clicking on my computer, cclick manage, click disk management and fool around with drive letters. your drive is physically there, but when it comes time to run a game, the program tries to acess a DIFFERENT drive letter. see what i mean? anyway i just had this problem and thats what i did.

if you cant fix it you could always go to gamecopyworld.com and get the no-cd crack. they have them for every game there is. THIS IS ONLY LEGAL IF YOU OWN THE GAME.

I'm at the end of my rope.

A while back (don't know exactly when; don't use the drives that often), my disc drives stopped working. I put in any disc, and it blinks and whirs and clicks, and the icon in My Computer changes to the "there's a disc in here" icon, but nothing else happens. When I double-click the icon, it just brings up an empty folder, like there's just nothing there. When I double-click it when the drive is empty, it asks for a disc, so it recognizes when a disc is present, just not what's on it. Something's stopping it.

It's not the drive or the drivers. I've tried the discs (both data CDs and video DVDs) in other machines, and I've tried an external drive on this machine. The drive works on other machines just fine, but the same exact problem happens when it's hooked up to this computer. What's more, I don't think images mounted on virtual drives are being recognized anymore, either.

I've uninstalled pretty much everything past the last date I know the drive was working for sure (early April), but no go. I've also tried updating all the drivers. I would try System Restore, but it's not working (something about a drive error). I've put in a Vista installation disc to try booting from, and it works perfectly when I do that. Hi, I realize that the problem described in the subject may seem deceivingly simple to solve, however realize that it is not the case:

I have a Dell Dimension 8400 desktop with Windows XP Home Edition. I was attempting to reinstall Windows on it, however I could not get the computer to boot off of the disc. Thinking that I might be able to start the setup from within Windows, I booted into Windows only to find that BOTH optical drives cannot read discs (as in, they both tell me to insert a disc even though there is clearly a disc in the drive). The drives also appear in the BIOS, but cannot be booted off of either. And yes, I'm certain the discs are bootable, and even if they weren't, it would still be recognized in Windows.

Also, I ran Dell's (simplistic) diagnostic tool and it asked me to insert a data disc so it could run tests on the optical drive, except there were already 2 discs in both drives.

I have also double checked all cable connections inside the case, all are solid, and I have already flashed the CMOS. I have also updated to the latest (Dell provided) firmware updates for the BIOS as well as both optical drives. Any suggestions?

A:Bios and Windows recognize 2 optical drives, but cannot read discs in either

The Dell Dimension 8400 is at least four years old... or more.
Several of the 8400's came with HL or HLDS optical drives, which failed early and often. Yours are likely long dead. What you describe is typical of a failed CD or DVD drive for which the reader lense has burned out or the drive has slipped out of alignment dut to wear.
Luckily, optical drives (DVD-RW and CD-RW) can be found cheaply online for $19.94 US to $39.99, and are relatively easy to install. We recommend Plextor (costly but great), LG, Samsung, LiteOn, or Pioneer. I would avoid Sony, Sony Nec, Sony Optiarc, HP, Acer, Asus, HLDS, Arctec and Rosewill as they do not seem to last as long in our computers.

My problem is not with this computer... I have also Compaq cq50z-100, Windows Vista Home Premiun SP2... my problem is this... Somehow I got a virus...after being so 'effing careful to boot. Now when I start my laptop, I get a quick flash of the command prompt window followed by a quick blank blue screen ... and then these 2 things repeat themselves and then nothing works except my mouse will move. So I tried what I know, recovery and such. It will not do anything in safe mode at all either. It will not let me change the boot drive order ( I guess that is what it is called), to the disc drive to run the recovery from my discs. So I got a friend to look at it. He says that my operating system is fried. He said I need to call Acer and buy an operating system disc set. Ok my question is this... are these discs different than the set of discs that I made when I first got my computer, the ones I call the recovery discs? Also why would I need to get them from Acer? Wouldn't I get them from HP or Compaq since this is who I bought my computer from? I am holding off spending the money to buy these new discs until I am certain that they are what I need to fix my computer. And if this guy really knows what he is doing. Any help is greatly appreaciated.

A:Operating system discs vs recovery discs

Your friend told you to call Acer for help with a Compaq computer? If so, I wouldn't go to that friend for any more technical help.

If you already have recovery/restore/operating system disks (whatever you want to call them), then you don't need to purchase anything else. You need to boot from them. Explain what you mean by "it will not let me change the boot order". Does that mean you don't know how? Your BIOS is password protected? They keyboard doesn't work?

My hard drive began crashing on start up, so I backed up my computer (took 21 discs and serveral hours to do). I ran the recovery discs and it started working properly.  Then I started the Restore program to put my files back into the computer and then on the second disc after a long period of time I got a screen that stated "Recovery stopped working" and program will be closed...... I tried it again and at about the same spot I got the same screen and closed program.... ALL my files (pictures, music, videos, documents, financial files are on this backup)...... Now what do I do, am I stuck?

I'm getting very nervous that I haven't made these impt system recovery discs. I bought 10 CDs at the time I bought PC and was assured they were the right type. When I got ready to create the discs, my PC said I would need 18 CDs. I backed out at that point so don't know if the ones I have are the right kind.

I'm going out this week to buy some more, but still have doubts I'm getting the right kind.

My HP guide says I need: CD-R

What I have is: SONY CD-R AUDIO (compact disc digital audio recordable)

Have I got the right kind? Thanks so much. Fox

Whenever I would go to a site on the net and type in my user name and a new pin, xp would prompt me to remember the pin, so that if I clicked and my user name came up, my pin would automatically be entered.

Now, when I go to Fidelity Investments, I click, but no user name comes up. When I manually enter, no reminder to save the pin comes up either.

When I go to other sites and click, my user name and pin come up.

I don't know if it is a Fidelity site thing, or if I need to do something else.

I did check "autocomplete" in the "content" tab of tools in ie6. and everything is checked.

Any ideas? Thanks!

A:Remembering PIN

Some sites will not store pins for security reasons.

I see and understand there point of view.

i accidently pushed dont remember the password on this site ... but i want to make it so that it is saved .. how can i make firefox remember a password ona site without changing the other site settings?

A:re-remembering

Go to Tools > Options > Privacy > Passwords tab > View Saved Passwords button > Passwords Never Saved tab, and remove the site from the list. Then go to the site and when the options box appears, save the password for this site.

You might need to tick the Remember Passwords box under the Passwords tab for this feature to work.

I had to log off from facebook in order to check another profile, thus having to enter that one and then once I was done reenter mine. However, no matter how many times, it always signs me out when I close the internet. I did hit "remember my password" option when I rentered it, but it doesn't.

Is there to really make sure that when I got to places like facebook, I'm already logged in and I don't have to retype anything?

Did you at all press on clear private data? If you're using mozilla, you could just press remember when it asks you if you want mozilla to remember the password.

In Internet Explorer, I am having a problem. My first step was to contact Microsoft, but they said I would have to talk to you as it was an OEM version. In IE, the box for a username and password pops up. I fill in the info, and check the box to remember it. However, the next time I go back, the fields are blank. This happens every time, for all sites. I have tried everything I can think of, including reseting all default settings, etc. Thank you.

A:IE NOT remembering passwords

So Microsoft gave you the address of this site to get help? Is that true?

Anyway, are you talking about IE not remembering the userid and password when you first connect to the net via your dialup connection or are you talking about userids and passwords when you go to certain webpages?

If your talking about it not remembering the userid and password when you first connect to the net via your dialup connection then do this,

Start>Find>Files, key in *.pwl and press enter. You should see one that has the username for your PC. Right click on it and select Rename. Now rename it .old, for example, bhesson.pwl would be renamed to bhesson.old

Now click on Start>Shutdown>Restart. When the Windows logon box appear at startup leave the password box blank and click on OK. It's important that you click on OK and not on Cancel.

Now see if IE remembers the userid and password. You may need to key it in the first time but after that subsequent conections should remember it.

If your talking about userids and passwords when you go to certain webpages then do this, Start>Settings>CP>InternetOptions>Content>AutoComplete. Make sure userids and passwords are selected.

Hi
I am using a Firefox browser which has just been updated to 2.0.0.20. I don't like version 3.

When i login to hotmail & check the 'remember me on this computer' tab, it does remember me after i sign out until i close the browser.
When i re-open the browser, i have to type all in again!

Ok, i think in IE, it remembers me all the time!

Could it be the update?

When i was about to contact hotmail technical help, it said to include any software just installed in my query!
As i say, recent update & also i installed SuperAntispyware & System info for Windows info, thats all.

Help appreciated.

I accidentally deleted all my passwords the other day in FF, and now the few I have in it, sometimes it's remembering and sometimes it's not and I have to look up and type in. I've looked at the passwords and they're supposed to be in there; however, sometimes showing and other times won't show even with closing tabs and windows and reopening.

Anyway to fix this?

It wasn't a problem before.

Good Day All -

I recently upgraded to IE 9, however due to compatibility with some web programs for work I had to roll back to IE 8. I also encountered a profile issue and I lost all my saved username and passwords in IE. My IE 8 is now not asking to save usernames and passwords and it had in the past. I have searched the internet and everyone says make sure it is set up to remember username and passwords... by going to Internet Options > Content > AutoComplete> Settings. I have all the boxed checked. I have triple checked it. I looked in the IntelliForms in the registry as another website suggested and nothing is there.

Please help!

Greetings BC,

This problem is happening in Chrome. At my school, you have to log in to use the internet. When I connect using the wireless my log in credentials are saved and all I have to do is click log in. However, when using the wired connection (much faster) it does not remember my log in details. I believe it used to but one time a friend logged in with theirs for some reason and now it doesn't remember them. Typing this in every time I want to get on the internet is pretty annoying and I would like to have it remember my log in details.

Picture if you want: http://i.imgur.com/QQjJa.png

I tried deleting the saved password in Chrome for the URL I get when logging in to wired but it didn't remember it after I logged in again.

Could someone please let me know how I can get Chrome to remember the log in details?

Thanks,
Kyle

Hi,

IE8 isn't remembering passwords on my email accounts. I have tried putting them on as 'trusted sites' under internet options - this didn't work. This happened before and I posted here but didn't save the topic (is this possible?) so can't remember how to fix.

Thanks.

A:IE8 - not remembering passwords

Blue, here is your previous topic about this issuehttp://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic312303.htmlHere is how to find any of your previous posts:Click on your name next to Logged in as: on the left side of the page, just under BleepingComputer.comYour profile will open. Click the drop-down arrow next to Options (left side of page) and choose either Find member's posts or Find Member's Topics. Scroll through the list until you find what you are looking for.In your case, you won't have a lot of pages to look through. If you have several pages of posts or topics, and don't want to wade through the them all click on Search at the top right of the BC page. This is useful if you don't know the date range of when you posted, but you do remember a few keywords from the post. Click on More Search Options. When the search page opens, type in a keyword from the post you made, then enter your name in Filter by Member Name (optional). Scroll down and click Perform the search.Example: I went to Search options, typed in the keyword passwords, then your name. The search brought up your post here and your previous post.

Since I've been using my new system running Windows XP Home, I've noticed on sites that require log-ins, that I have to re-login all the time when I visit. It's like somehow now my computer is not remembering to automatically remember my log-in information. It may be due to the new firewall installed called CA Internet Security Suite. I tried changing the settings to "medium security", but when I check again, the setting all revert to "high security." This was not a problem with the old computer running Windows 98. What's causing this and is there a fix?

A:New Computer not remembering log-in information

check your firewall config to see if you are blocking cookies. They contain that logon info so if blocked you will have to re-enter your info
