It seems Lenovo just rolled out new plans for  Thinkpad customer to choose their warranty add-ons. It moved from old optional plans with different extent of bundled products (e.g. ADP, KYD, Sealed battery) into an a-la-carte item model for the customer to choose. I compare Lenovo online sales website in HK, JP, SG and US and have the following findings: 1. Not all countries have rolled out the new warranty options scheme yet (e.g. Lenovo HK and Lenovo JP is still using old "bundled" warranty plan option) 2. Inconsistencies on the choice of additional warranty services available for Thinkpad customers (For Levono SG, Seal Battery, Keep Your Drive are not available as add-ons if the customer chooses Depot Warranty plan, while Lenovo US offers these add-ons to both Depot and Onsite Warranty. Meanwhile, Lenovo US customer need to buy an add-on for international warranty but Lenovo HK, SG offers the international warranty to all new Thinkpads they sold. 3. Lack of transparency on warranty add-on pricing. I noted Lenovo SG priced Seal Battery Add-on for T480s at SGD330 but same Add ons in Lenovo US is only quoted at USD$26. Can Lenovo explain why such discrepencies happen? And welcome you all share your findings on the Thinkpad warranty add-on offerings in your home country.

My laptop will not power on. After putting in a ticket and being unable to ship out my laptop in time, I extended my warranty so that I could have on site repair. Since then I have put in a ticket on Jan 12th when I was told by support staff over the phone that I would be called within 2 business days. I did not receive a call. I then called again on Jan 20th to report that I was never contacted, the support staff then put in another ticket for me and said that I would be called in 2 business days. I was never contacted either through email or by phone. Today I recieved an email stating that my repair was completed. How could my repair be complete if nobody ever came to pick up my laptop? I am a student, I need to have a working computer and I do not have money to be buying a new laptop every year because companies make faulty products. As of now I am stuck using the library at school for PC access. So much for 24 hour on site repair that I paid an extra $47 for.

My laptop is only under warranty for a few more days. I have tried several times over the past few months to purchase an extended warranty, to no avail. 1. Support can't help. I even included a summary when I sent in my laptop for repair this past month and mentioned the laptop's problems.  On the same letter inside with my laptop I asked to PLEASE HELP ME BUY AN EXTENDED WARRANTY. I just received an email that my laptop is fixed and being returned but NO OFFER TO BUY AN EXTENDED WARRANTY! 2. Chat people refer me to Sales.3. Sales people bring my system's info up on their computer system and apparently can't access it in order to sell me an extended warranty??Or, at other times, sales people say THEIR SYSTEM IS DOWN, PLEASE TRY BACK as they can't access that function [to buy an extended warranty]. I guess I SHOULD HAVE bought it within the first month or two I owned it, when I COULD ACCESS the purchase page for extended warranties. This really bites.  I have owned several computers under the Acer family's name, Acer, GW and eMachine. This LACK of being able to buy an extended warranty is REALLY making me think to look elsewhere, especially as Black Friday is kicking off this week throughout the USA. Maybe I should just use this recently repired acer laptop under it has some hardware issue, BUT BUY A DIFFERENT BRAND during this BF sales week.

I have an HP Pavilion Notebook, well out of warranty. I keep getting the pop-up to buy an extended warranty (which I do not want), and when I click 'next', it refers to inability of IE to respond. How can I get rid of this pop-up for once and for all? I have pop-up blocker on in Firefox. I have even selected "already bought one" and "buy now", but get same result.

Hi everyone,i have a problem after the purchase of an Omen 15-ax000nl. I have bought the extended warranty of 3 years all inclusive, product paied with paypal on best2serve. Payment accepted and the  e-mails from best2serve arrived with the confirmation that the extended warranty has been accepted and just registered in auto, but it's three days that when i open hp support assistant or when i prove to check my warranty on the hp website they tell me that i have the classic 1 year of warranty. I have sent more than one mail to the hp support  with the attachments about the contract of the 3 years warranty and they never reply to me..... so what can i do, i have to take my money back with paypal??? ll be in the market for a new laptop soon with my tax return and am wondering if those here think the extra extended warranties are worth it? Most laptops come with a 12 month warranty. The place I am looking at offer a 1 year extension beyond that for $169 and a two year extension for $179 (of course at those prices if I got one at all it would be the two year). They also offer a 2 year accidental damage policy as well but I won't be getting that as my renter's insurance covers that. But what do people here think? Is it worth it? I currently have a Toshiba laptop that has worked fine for 2 and a half years. If it were a desktop, I wouldn't even be considering it. I prefer to build my own of those anyway and also prefer to fix my own problems. For reference, i am looking for something with a dual core processor, 1 to 2 gigs of RAM, a DVD burner and a dedicated video card.

Also, what brands do you prefer for laptops and why. Thanks.

I have Lenovo Y50-70 serial number CB32876097. I had purchased an extended warranty for two years. My laptop is currently eligible for extended warranty. From yesterday, my laptop is not charging even while it's connected to charger. It says 'plugged in, not charging' at 0%. But it works without charging while it's connected to the charger and turns off as soon as I plug it out. Since, some techniques I saw on many websites did not work for me, I am thinking of giving it to the service center. So I would like to know what I should be expecting from the service center. Is battery fully covered under extended warranty? Would I get a replacement of battery if that's the problem?

A one-year base battery warranty is the standard norm regardless of the system`s warranty.
 
As per warranty policy:
"Warranty Period for all Lenovo batteries, stylus, and digitizer pens are limited to 12 months unless otherwise specified. This means that Lenovo will provide warranty service without charge for batteries, stylus, and digitizer pens during the 12 months of the warranty period." 
 
It would be best to have it submitted for warranty repair so the service center would be able to check if the systemboard and or battery are the points of failure. They would be able to decide on parts and service coverage as per your current warranty if otherwise specified.

In Jan. 2016 I had an HP Pavilion All-in-One 27 -n110 (Touch), Ser. #[personal information removed], and I purchased the xtended warranty in May 2016, , Order #[personal information removed]. fpr $129.99 and tax of $7.80, for a total of $$137.79. Due to problems with the touchscreen and numerous contacts with HP, they finally sent me the HP Envy All-in-One PC 27-n014, Ser. #[personal information removed].
See Case #[personal information removed].  Andy H of HP Support called me to let me know that HP was sending my the new Envy so He could close the Case #. I explained about purchasing the extended warranty, and said that he should transfer the warranty to the new desktop (Envy) and I would close the case.  He said the warranty would be transferred. I received the Envy on 6/29/16. I keep getting pop-ups advising me that my warranty period expires on 6/29/17. and I should purchase an extended warranty. I checked with online HP support today, and there has been no transfer of the warranty.  Please advise.

I have a Lenovo ID account registered to my gmail account. For some reason a second Lenovo account was generated for my microsoft account. I am not sure if latter was generated while setting up my new Yoga laptop. If I check the Vantage app on my laptop it doesn't show my extended warranty that I have registred to my gmail Lenovo ID. Is there a possibility to erase the outlook-linked account? Or merge the two accounts. It is really confusing with two accounts.

I purchased a Yoga 720 15" 2in1 three weeks ago and I am trying to decide if, when, and the type of warranty extentions I should get.I can add the " products " to the cart but I can not find the small print anywhere.  IF I decide to get additional coverage I would likely go for the maximum available but I want to know what the coverage is prior to purchasing it. I have two options available in addition to the levono warranty and  want to choose wisely.As it is I have over 11 months* remaining on the warranty but I think adding accidental coverage and on site service may be a good investment because I will be traveling with this laptop and I might be at the other side of the country if it breaks.I would appreciate advice on this topic. * I purchased it on 7/3/2017 and the start date for my warranty shows as 6/22/2017. $10 for ext. staples warranty? - worth it or bologne?
Bought a $99 printer on sale for $89 4 days ago. Got the $10 ext. 2yr warranty. But the staples guy kinda lied to me, and now Im thinking of returning the warranty and getting my $10 back. He said the warranty would be with staples from day 1 to day 700 of the end of 2yrs. But I called another location, and I was told, how it is, is technically its a 1yr warranty. The first year your warranty is through the manufacturer- if anything goes wrong, you have to send it out. Now, staples warranty kicks in after 1 yr for 1 yr, if anything goes wrong, bring it back to them and get a brand new one off their shelf or if they dont carry that model (which they most likely wont knowing how fast printers come out), they give you full in store credit of what you paid for + the ext warranty towards new printer. But you can only get that credit if they dont carry that model anymore.

So is this worth it? This sucks, printer breaks within 1 yr, I have to ship it out. Or I have it sit here till the 1yr is up, take it back to staples and get new one. Heres another option - I could keep the warranty, use the printer for 1yr, take it back to staples, use the credit towards a colour laser (knowing they will be a whole lot cheaper then), and 1yr, no way anyone will still sell this printer, considering its already been out 3 months.But how I see it is, whats the point having an ext. warranty if it doesnt kick in till 1yr after? After enter the serial on Lenovo's warranty upgrade page, it quoted me $15 for 3Y Keep Your Drive compatible with Onsite warranty (see photo). Is this the same as 3 years onsite warranty priced at $109 at presale? If this is true, why would anyone purchase warranty at the same time as they purchase their laptop?
