I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Then how come Windows 10 become pirated.  I lost my Windows 7 produce key. sticker also not available. now how can I activate my Windows 10 . Microsoft online help center said that they are unable to active your Windows 10 without product key.

A:Window 7 genuine while upgrade to Window 10 than it becomes pirated

Microsoft should have your product key and information from when you upgraded to Windows 10.  It sounds like there is a glitch with Windows 10 and their license verification service and as such you would have to deal with Microsoft on that issue.  If Microsoft cannot or will not do anything about it, you will have to have your key in order to validate your license.  Dell will not have a copy.

A:Removing Window 7 after Upgrade to Window 8

First get a hold of a little program called "Take Ownership then install it." This will help in deleting the Windows files. Next just start deleting the files. If you are unable to delete a file then right click and choice "take ownership then attempt to delete the file again. This takes a little work so don't get upset when a file won't delete. your documents and personal files should all left when you upgrade Windows 10 without any problems. Still, you may want to back up all of your personal files to an external drive or other source just to be on the safe side. Your Windows apps and settings should also remain intact following the upgrade. But Microsoft cautions that some applications or settings may not migrate.

Too much hype about window7, so i downloaded window7 RTM ultimate and installed it on my second disk partition. My first partition has window xpsp3.
Now if i compare performance of both the OS XP seem to be really faster despite the hype that window7 is faster than xp. Movie files donot play smoothly in window7
But still i am interested in using window7. Please suggest what i should do, like add a PCI graphic card etc. I am not interested in upgrading my motherboard.

My H/W is as:-
Processor 2 MHz (celerone)
motherboard 845GL
RAM 1.5 GB
Motherboard has only PCI slot (no PCI express or AGP slot)
Sound Driver AC97
Graphic driver intel 82845

A:Upgrade what HW for Window 7

Mate, I have 90% of the same setup as yours on a test machine out here (P4 2.4Ghz, Gigabyte 845, 512MB RAM) and the video display is pretty good. Have you installed the Intel 845 graphics drivers?

Besides that, I can think of a couple of other solutions:
1. Check the refresh rate of your monitor. I'm assuming you have a CRT and those units are particularly choosy about the Hz rate.
2. Try installing better codecs - something like the K-Lite Corporate pack should suit you just fine.
3. Use VLC rather than WMP.
4. Use full hardware acceleration under Display properties - advanced settings.

Failing all of that, maybe you could buy yourself a cheap P4 3Ghz or a Radeon 9xxx PCI based card off eBay. Nobody seems to want them any more but these components make for some bargain basement priced test machines and music servers at home or in your case, a pretty significant upgrade.

A:window upgrade

anuragrajj Hello;Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!I read your post about wanting to upgrade to Win10 and wanted to help.Your question is hard to answer definitively.  HP has not tested your PC with Win10, so we don't know how well it will work, and HP does not provide Win10 drivers for your PC, so if the resulting upgrade doesn't go well, there are no drivers you can download to deal with any of the issues. However, of all the PCs that upgrade to Win10, the Win8.1 PCs fare the best with the least problems. My suggestion is that you consider doing an image backup of your PC prior to the Upgrade using a third-party product known as Macrium Reflect. Macrium Reflect (MR) provides a FREE version that can be used to image and restore partitions or entire drives. What I recommend is the following:1) Download and install Macrium Reflect (MR)2) Run MR and choose the option: "Create an image of the partition(s) required to backup and restore Windows" to write a full backup to an external drive or USB stick3) Use the option to create a boot USB stick or CDMy experience is that MR, when using the High Compression option, typically can compress the saved image file to about 50% of the USED space in the OS partition.  This means if you have an 80GB OS partition, and 40GB is used, MR only needs about 20GB to store the image file.I use this all the time and it typically takes less than 10 minutes to do the image backup and about the same time or less to d... I mistakenly opted to upgrade from windows 8 pro to 8.1 pro through the store this afternoon. All seemed well at first, it downloaded and installed alright and everything seemed to be fine but after a few minutes testing things out I suddenly lost mouse and keyboard completely. I tried rebooting, safe mode etc but to no avail, still no mouse or keyboard. I decided to cut my losses and re-install win 8 pro from disc, which installed correctly and everything seemed to be back to normal. But I noticed that there is a big download going on without my request or knowledge, I have windows update turned off, so I fear Microsoft is again downloading win 8.1 which I now do not want. In the store there is no sign of the update or any activity. So, can I somehow stop this runaway train or do I have to wait and lose more download capacity? I hope if and when it's finished I will be able to say no to terms and conditions and that will be the end of the story or will it be in a continual loop

Grateful for any advice

A:Is there any way to stop window 8.1 upgrade?

You may need to wipe the drive and re-install 8 that way, if there is some download process left over from the Upgrade- I suspect it is downloading the Install Disk for Windows 8.1, and it may be as big as 3 GB.

The system would probably be unresponsive while waiting for the download to finish, on DSL it would take a few hours, on Low BW Cable, maybe half of a Day. Even though you interrupted the install, it is probably still running. Check your Startup Processes, and disable anything that looks like it is related to the UG.

But you might not be able to if the UG runs through BITS. So best bet would be to copy off all of your Data to a backup drive, blank out the drive, and re-install 8.

A few months ago I upgraded my 32 bit win 7 pro to windows 10. The whole thing was fairly quick and worked great. Today I tried to upgrade my Window 7 64 bit desktop (see my system specs) and it turning out to be a real headache. Here?s what I did in prep:
? First I made an image of my Win 7 OS as a safety measure.
? I uninstalled the AMD Catalyst Control Center since Windows would do that anyway. I thought I?d save it the trouble although the 32 bit machine removed it successfully and worked fine.
? I updated all of my Fujitsu Scanner software to versions said to be Windows 10 compatible.
? I also uninstalled Microsoft Security Essentials as I?ve read MSE has caused some problems with 10 for some upgraders.
Then I began the process which seemed to proceed as expected. When it was done, I saw that things were amiss:
? Most of my desk top shortcuts were plane white boxes with no icon.
? Immediately I got a pop up error saying ?ScanSnap Manager (this is my Fujitsu Scanner) was in an abnormal environment (0x00000005), make it is installed correctly.?
? Many of my programs were listed as unavailable in setting, apps and features. Some of these I installed on the 32 bit machine just to test that they would work on 10. I tested a few of these apps and they would not work although the upgrade advisor told me my machine was ready to go.
? Besides the above things the computer seemed generally slow. Some appli... Read more

My upgrade was smooth surprisingly. I had check the MS Report prior to approving the install. No programs flagged as incompatible all green checkmarks so that looked good. I had previously downloaded all the relavent Win 10 specific updated I'd need and had them in one directory for quick access to run afterwards. FACTS: (Verified by Tech Support after much hunting that day)- Veriface Pro is not compatible and gets removed- There is no Veriface Pro for Windows 10 (something said about this hardware) and won't run so its a lost functinality I dearly miss!!!- Lenovo Settings lost adjusting the Camera while other areas in this utility are working such as swapping F keys for Fn keys as a default. The was some pop up messages from MS Win 10 about Dolby not compatible and was dumped to prevent corruption. Although the entire process incurred a dozen restarts at least it appears to be running but not throughly tested. I appeared MS installed updates itself but I wasn't sure and ran the Lenovo packages anyway. Items such the card reader, HDMI, headphone jack haven't  been used yet but I don't expect any problems. I am running Nvidia 365.xx package which was install directly from Nvidia prior to the upgrade. Its still in effect. Since there are no othe biometric inputs like a finger scanner. The loss of camera based equivalent Veriface Pro is a big hit for me. I certainly they get this back and working on the Windows 10 64bit system.

I'm currently running Windows 7 Ultimate (32 Bit) and am contemplating upgrading to Windows 7 Ultimate (64 Bit) so I can use install and use more RAM.

I only have 4GB RAM and want to upgrade to 32GB.

If I do this I believe that I have to back up my hard drive first so that I can re-install (in one go) all of my current application etc.

Is there a way for me to back up my entire hard drive to an external hard drive, do the upgrade and then re-install all of my files and applications so that I can carry on as if nothing has changed?

The other way is to loose everything and start again re-installing all of my applications one by one, I'd (naturally) rather not have to do it this way.

I know that some of my applications can be upgraded to the 64 bit versions but I can do that at my leisure.

Any advice would be very welcome...

My Old Computer Is Now My Wife's But It Is Old 7-8 Years With Windows 2000 Pro(1999) I Need Some Help In Getting The Correct Product To Up-grade To Xp Without Doing A Clean Install. Is This Possible?

A:Window's Upgrade Assistance

Hi, The upgrade from Windows 2000 Pro, to XP, is limited to using the XP Professional type of XP.

see this> http://www.theeldergeek.com/xp_upgrade_paths.htm

There should be no problem doing the upgrade, but you want to make sure the hardware is up to snuff- get plenty of memory installed, make sure the PC is clean of malware, do a good backup of music, documents, pics or any files you downloaded like program setups if you need them. Remember things like AIM, Yahoo, MSN Messenger all may need special treatment to save address/contact books.....Outlook, too.

((It always is a good idea to have files you cannot afford to lose, someplace off the hard drive...you just can't trust anything that much- the upgrade is not supposed to affect your documents, but it might. ))

The link I posted has some brief info about the minimum specs the pc needs to have a successful upgrade.

A very quick Google turned up quite a few similar prices, at around $180 US for an XP PRO Upgrade full retail install this is not the student/academic type if we can afford to trust the vendor's description....

The full retail ((not-an-upgrade)) copy of XP Pro is around $250, while an OEM single-computer-for-systemlife type is about $125-130.... you do have to hunt around to make absolutely sure you are getting what you need>> the prices at your local computer supply place might be somewhat higher, too, but check around.

Gday all
I have an ideapad Y530 that is currently experiencing audio issues.
I recently upgraded from Vista to 7 Ultimate and ever since the audio only works about 1 and 10 times. I have found many posts on the net with similar issues but nothing exatly like mine. All speakers have been enabled, audio driver updated and every type of trouble shooting tried.
Basically i start the computer, get the Lenovo boot-up jingle, then no sound. But every ten starts, or so, the sound works perfectly?
The only other strange thing i notice is that if i plug in speakers and put the volume on FULL i can hear sound ever so faintly.
Feels like some sort of conflict but i cannot find one. Its as if Windows 7 loads the driver sometimes and not others, but if so why is the sound faint when i plug in speakers? Should i open the laptop to search for physical damage between the motherboard and speaker connections?
Very confused???
Cheer for an ideas.

I wouldn`t go ripping apart your pc. You could destroy it. I doubt if there is anything wrong with it physically.

Did you do an upgrade from Vista or did you install 7 from the dvd. Uninstall the drivers again and reboot the pc. Use windows update to install the drivers again or go to the Lenova website and download them. You have to keep trying.

I am currently running Win 7 Home Premium (OEM) on a Toshiba T135. I would like to upgrade to Professional or Ultimate only for the language pack for English. I live in Mexico, the Toshiba was manufactured for the Latin American Market. I opened Windows Anytime Upgrade, and was informed that the upgrade option was not available in my area and to see a local dealer. Big problem, no local dealer has a boxed upgrade or download available.

I went to Microsoft US asking for help, bascially the reply was "sorry". Of course my IP address shows "Mexico" , even tho' I have a US billing and mailing address, this stops me from downloading from Microsoft.

Does anyone have a suggestion for a work around, short of carrying the laptop to the US?

Thanks in advance for your help. I looked in the forum to see if anyone else had this problem and did not find it. If I missed it, please accept my apologies.

You could do fresh install of win7 home premium english version using a generic disk available on the web. Google is your friend. Just make sure it is an english language or multi language disk. Then activate with your COA sticker key or retail box/OEM box key (whatever, depending on how your existing win7 version was acquired). You may need to do a phone activation.

After Window 10 Upgrade ePowerEvent.exe commit charge grows constantly Looking at Task Manager, Details the ePowerEvent.exe commit charge gradually grows to hundreds of megabytes (400+ MB at my last reboot) and appears to keep growing "forever." Does anyone else see that? Version is: 7.0.8109.1 Date Modified: 02/15/2016 If it's happening to all of us perhaps we can ask to have this memory leak resolved.

can I use that same disc to reinstall it as my "genuine" window 7? since the previous install already deleted my window vista..

The situation now is my current OS is window 7(upgraded from vista),can I reinstall it using the same method?(upgrade disc) without worrying the copyright and such?

I want to do so because I heard peoples said that if you have a partition with OS alone will grant better performance to the PC..so I tryin' to immediately after the installment of the new window 7, I want to do a partition for the OS alone only, separate it with the programs file and such to avoid the OS file mix around with other file..

please give me some advice..

Thank you very much

A:if I already install window 7 using upgrade disc

If you have a retail upgrade DVD, I believ that you can boot from it, format the OS partition, and install Win7. The old installation will qualify the upgrade license.

If something goes wrong with that, you won't be in trouble:
