Q: Yoga 910-13IKB - Touchscreen and camera not working

For almost a year my Yoga 910-13IKB behaved just perfectly. But several weeks ago the touchscreen stopped working after coming out from hibernation, sometimes I need to restart computer 2-3 times before it starts working, today it is not helping anymore. The webcamera also shows missing. What might be the problem? I blame some Windows updates, but could be a technical issue?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

Hi,After upgrading the BIOS/UEFI firmware in my Yoga 920-13IKB, the touch screen never worked again.I upgraded to latest version: 5ncn38ww. The update was the one recommended by Lenovo Vantage app. I have tried everything, reinstalling all drivers, reinstalling operating system, it just never worked again.Is there a way to get the previous firmware? I cannot evend find a link to previous versions of the firmware....

Hello, experienced touchpad/touchscreen glitch repeatedly today on this Lenovo Yoga 910 laptop on Windows 10. After a minute or two from bootup, a greyed out circle or square would appear on the left side of the screen, and the mouse cursor would freeze and disappear. The touchscreen didn't register any input at all. However, sometimes it acted as it was registering many clicks repeatedly. The keyboard worked fine. It seems like a similar glitch was reported with the Lenovo Helix laptops. I seem to have resolved the frozen mouse by installing all updates through Lenovo Vantage. However, the touchscreen remains dead. I removed the HID-compliant driver in order to reinstall it, but now I can't find the driver online to redownload. Does anyone have a link? Or ideas about the touchscreen?

To be clear, the touchpad seems to be working fine now. I just need a link to the touchscreen driver to reinstall. Hopefully that fixes the issue.

My Yoga 720s touchscreen mirrored itself on one axis after i updated the driver. Bad explanation, but when i touch say in the low left corner the pc takes the input as upper left corner and if i touch the upper right it inputs in the lower right. Reacts the same both with touch and pen input. can't roll back driver

No fingerprint reader after updates. Biomettrics Device - Synaptics WBDI SGX shows as broken in Device Manager - "This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)". I've uinstalled/reinstalled/updated about 20 times - no luck.  The issue ppears to have been triggered by the most recent "Bison" camera update. Any help appreciated, this 920 has been a bit of a challenge!

Hi again, another issue. I have a UNI multi dock - it was working fine - HDMI, SD card readers, USB. Suddenly one day it stopped. Display does not recognize signal, cannot change display mode with win+P - I can switch but cannot apply changes..Intel software, windows settings - nowhere to see it. I bought Microsoft USB-C to HDMI hoping the dock broke or something, but still the same.  Installed all possible drivers again from lenovo, did windows update - still nothing.  What else can I do?

Hello, I have a pretty new Yoga 920-13IKB.  The USB Type A port just stopped working out of the blue yesterday.  I tried the normal stuff like deleting the usb entries in device manager, disabling fastboot and trying different devices, but nothing is recognized.  I have a USB C to USB A adapter and when I plug a USB A device into the laptop via the USB C port/adapter, that does work fine.  The USB A port does charge my phone though, so it's not totally dead. Anything else I can check on the software side?  It certainly seems like a hardware issue to me. As far as warranty support, I do have Microcenter nearby.  How does support with them work?  It looks like the USB A assembly is a separate board and is not part of the motherboard, so that should be easily replaceable.  Does Microcenter carry parts like that or do they still send it out for that? Thanks!

Hello,My speakers stopped working and I have done so many diffrernt driver moves andd steps on these forums and nothing.  I cannot reset windows as the programs lost are essential to my studies right now and would be difficult to reinstal and tweak all of them to work.  PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! if its hardware ill buy new speakers but i wont replace the motherbord.  Headphones work just fine (actually they sound great with the dolby atmos).

My U920 has been goten worst every day, first it was the thouchscreen, then the cameras and finnally today the screen has stoped working.

The ribon attachment has problems, don't know if I'm the only one or if is a design problem, but the main problemhas been the total lack of support from Toshiba.

I don?t understand why you are not satisfied with the consumer service but fact is that in case of hardware problems, you should always contact the local Toshiba authorized service provider which is available in your country.

How to now if it?s really an hardware problem or maybe just an software issue (corrupt system)?
There is a very simple method and workaround:
In most cases if you recover the notebook back to the factory settings, the software issues should be fixed the notebook should work properly.

In case the recovery does not solve the notebook problems, the notebook?s hardware might be affected. In such case (as already mentioned above) you will need additional help from notebook engineer.

Hi all, I've seen a few other posts on this subject, but haven't noticed anything too recent.  I've run into an issue with my brand new Yoga 720 where my touch screen fails to work.  Upon opening device manager, I see that my Wacom Device has a little alert next to it.  The error reported by the device is: "This device cannot start. (Code 10)  A request for the HID descriptor failed." I have tried to reinstall the driver multiple times.  I've grabbed both the Lenovo and the Wacom versions of the driver with no success. I just got the machine today.  The touch screen did not work during the initial installation process, so I don't think the updates are what killed it (as reported elsewhere).  It's also not promising that things magically started to work again after some amount of time. I suppose I don't mind taking the laptop back, but it's otherwise such a nice little laptop (widespread issues with cheap display parts notwithstanding) that I'd really like to be able to hang on to it. Any assistance and / or updates on this problem would be appreciated!

Hi thereFew months ago I bought a Yoga 520, and I never had any problems with it. Mostly used it for work, and drawing with my wacom tablet. Tried the touch screen a few times, everything was fine. However, today I wanted to try drawing with my finger on the screen, and I realised the touch function of the touchscreen is not working. I always allow WIN10 to update itself, but since I'm not using the touch function regularly I couldn't say when it stopped working. What I've tried so far:Updated drivers, all of them. Checked Lenovo Vantage for new drivers, everything is the latest. Tried uninstalling the driver of the Wacom device from device manager. (btw in device manager, the wacom device has a yellow ! and on the Properties windows it says 'A request for the HID descriptor failed'.Again, installed every driver from Lenovo Support page I could. Tried basically everything suggested in the similar topics in this forum, and on Microsoft's page. Please tell me, you have something figured out other than 'reinstall your PC', because I don't think a notebook in this price range should be reinstalled after 3 months. Is it because a windows update? So should I wait for another update to fix this, or should I just bring it back to where I bought it?Thanks in advance, have a nice day.

i am using Lenovo Yoga 3 and after i downloaded Microsoft Office 2013 it stopped working. I tried going through the control panel and the human interface, tried enable and disable but it still didnt work. Also tried the Mouse and Touchpad setting but still nothing happened.Even if i use it as a tablet or at tent mode the touchscreen wouldnt work. I am very frustrated here. If anyone could help me with this issue i would highly appreciate it. Thanks

Hey everyone, I picked up my Yoga today, and I love it. However, about an hour ago the touchscreen went completely unresponsive. The last thing I remeber doing, before noticing the touchscreen becoming unresponsive, was installing the Android SDK. (Well, I ran the installer, but it didn't recognize JDK). So, here I am, with the touchscreen not functional at all. Has anyone else had a similar problem? Does anyone have any suggestions? I tried the "refresh" and that didn't work. I'm probably going to try the wipe/clean install option in a bit. I guess that would tell me for certain if it's a hardware problem or not. I'm really hoping this isn't a design flaw with the 360 hinge causing issues. I really like the laptop, and would rather not have to deal with hardware issues like this down the road. :/ I'll be calling support in the morning, but was hoping to get this resolved tonight if anyone has had a similar problem.  Thanks!

perhaps that program just donīt work with WIN8?
 
Try a Windows system restore and restore it to a point before you tried installing Android SDK.

A few months ago I started experiencing problem with constant error of I2C HID driver on my Yoga 510-15ISK. I used to "solve it" by turning the driver off and on in device manager and it worked for some time. This week it said that "A request for the HID descriptor failed" (code 10) and I can't do anything with it. I tried to update and reinstall the driver, online Lenovo diagnostic, Windows troubleshooting with no luck. Hey there, I just bought a brand new Yoga 720 13IKB yesterday. Now I just configured Windows 10 and realized that the Touchscreen doesnt work. Like, at all. Which is funny, because it worked once, at the first screen of the Windows initialization, where I pressed "Next" on the touchscreen. After the whole procedure, when I got to the desktop, however, it ceased to work. In the device manager it says 'this device cannot start" (Code 10)'  on the 'Wacom Device'. It also has the yellow exclamation mark on it. So I assume, that's what causes the problem. I just don't know how to fix it, though. I'm absolutely out of ideas at this point. The list of things I've tried includes:- Deinstalling Wacom Drivers entirely- Reinstalling Wacom drivers, first time from Wacom directly, second time from Lenovo page- Installing every othe driver, including chipset drivers- Installing all availably Windows Updates- Installing newest Lenovo Firmware- Installing new BIOS (which didn't work since the newest BIOS was already on there)- Giving up and doing a complete factory reset, including reinstalling Windows 10 None of these things did anything. Even now, after the factory reset it still has the same issue and the same yellow excalamtion mark. Yeah so,I use my lenovo YOGA as my primary laptop for half a year now. No problems, everything runnying smooth. Now however, since yesterday my touchscreen stopped working. I stayed up th whole night troubleshooting, to find what's Wrong but nothing. I'm running windows 10, and suddenly my touchscreen stopped working. I checked in the device manager and the "HID compliant touch screen" was disconected. After trying to reinstall software, it was uninstalled and now the option does not even show up anymore. I reinstalled all lenovo drivers and im getting nothing. Windows has no idea its even there. Full disk format and a fresh copy of windows 10, and still nothing. This laptop has been through lenovo support again and again, the last time it went was kinda the last straw for me. :/ It's out of warranty now, but while it was in repair, other things on the computer were also damaged. Hence why it went back twice. But now suddenly the touch screen has stopped and I can't get a single response. Im hoping this is a driver malfunction somehow, but the touchscreen will not even show up in the device manager, not even under hidden devices. Any help?

I recently bought a Yoga 520 from a local Lenovo's partner store. Everything worked fine, until I recently intalled the latest Windows update and restarted the device. I also enclosed the list of Update I installed until today (09/29). I had contacted the store where I bought the laptop and also consulted the local service center, but both of them couldn't resolve the issue.Some efforts I had tried:1. Accessed Control Panel > Hardware & Sound > Device Manager > Human Interface Devices > HID Compliant Touch Screen. I had tried to: 1) disable and reenable it, and 2) uninstall it and restart the laptop, but none of them works (the touchscreen still does not detect touch input). 2. Downloaded and installed the latest Wacom Drive, including the Wacom Dual Touch driver. This also does not resolve the issue. 3. Downloaded and installed the latest NVIDIA and Intel HD's graphic card driver. Again, the touch screen is still not responding. 4. Accessed the Universal Serial Bus Controller > USB Root Hub (xCHI) > Properties > Power Management and disabled the "Allow the Computer to turn off this device to save power". It still doesn't work. Some other conditions:1. The Lenovo's Wacom-powered pen works perfectly. The screen detects the digital input, but it does not detect hand/finger touch input.2. Hello, The touchscreen on my Yoga 720 stopped working as soon as I plugged a HDMI cable through an adapter for USB-C. The laptop is not even a month old and the touch screen was working before I plugged the HDMI cable into the adapter. I tried desactive and activate the touch screen but it didn't work. Any solutions? Thanks

Main issue im having is the keyboard is acting very bizzare. First keypress does not register when I start typing or after pressing the spacebar. shift keys and backspace are intermittent. for example, on this sentence i had to press the "f" key twice as well as press every letter twice after each press of the spacebar. Reinstalled drivers, system restore, malware scans all to no avail. i'd guess it's a hardware issue.now the touchscreen:does not work 99% of the time but randomly appears to. When it's not working windows tells me no touch is available for this display. Seems like a poor connection to me as well as I can't seem to find touch screen drivers. anyone have experience with this?

Hello, My Lenovo Yoga 720 13's touchscreen seems to not work with finger input. However, the touchscreen still responds when connected to the compatible Bamboo Smart Pen I have for this laptop. When accessing device manager, the Device status for HID-compliant touch screen, HID-compliant pen, and Wacom Pen seem to be working correctly. Here is how the problem appeared:1. I received a new 20FQCTO1WW. First-time booted fine, touch and pen were working at this time.2. Repartitioned the drive and installed Windows (10 pro, the retail version)3. Installed wifi driver from Lenovo support page (http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/thinkpad-x-series-laptops/thinkpad-x1-...)4. Installed Lenovo System Update and used that to get all the drivers, etc. At this point device manager shows nothing missing, I see all touch screen, pen, Wacom device and all the things but touchpad and pen input doesn't register anything.  I suspect firmware/driver issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Just as a side note, touchscreen as well as brightness adjustment doesn't work out of the box on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, if anybody has ran into this and found solutions.
