Windows Xp Integrated Zip option Problem

Q: Windows Xp Integrated Zip option Problem

Ok guys I've got a tricky one for you. I've been to alot of other forums with this one and I am out of ideas so I am really hoping someone here is smarter then me which isnt very hard by my experience =)
I am a network admin for a smaller company. One of our sales guys recently started having the infamous "Windows is blocking access to this file for your protection" error when he tries to extract files from a .zip that is sent automatically from one of our sister companies. It says you can go to properties and click "unblock" which of course I did and which of course makes absolutely no difference. When he double clicks the zip it appears empty. When he clicks "extract all files" it gives the old Blocking this file error mentioned previously. I searched around google and read a couple suggested fixs and nothing has worked. I tried a Registry entry that marks certain files as low risk. I made sure he is a local admin of his machine. I logged in as domain admin and tried it myself...same result. I am kind of at a loss here and he really needs to be able to view and extract zip files. Could it be an update he got and installed? As of right now we dont yet have SMS or WSUS so users pretty much get to pick their own updates (I know its dumb but I just started.). It cant really be a group policy because everyone operates under the same policy and it works fine for them. He is running Windows Xp Pro SP2. Any advice someone smarter then me could offer would be greatly appreciated because I am completely out of ideas. I temporarily downloaded winrar for him but the trial period is about to run out and for the amount of zips he opens a day its not really a productive solution. He would really like to be able to use the integrated zip option in xp for quickness and ease of use. Thanks for your time.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello, I recently was messing with my old laptop and kinda installed windows 7. There was a lot of problem during installing so before that, I tried installing XP and there was a problem of some sort of read error so in the boot option there is still the option for XP Setup for booting. So I ignored it and went to install windows 7. I ignored it because there was error when I tried to install XP. I don't really post on forums but I've really ran out of option.
So here's my stupid mistake:
After installing windows 7.
I was wanting to make windows 7 boot itself without the XP setup coming so I went to change in the windows 7
Computer > Properties > Advance System settings > Advanced
And then boot setting or something. I set the default I CLEARLY SET THE DEFAULT TO WINDOWS 7 and then put the timer to 0. So now, I restart computer, omg, it boots into the setup filled with errors instead of w default I've set. Now I can't even go into windows 7 and change it, what am I to do
Please help me out.

Intergrated audio means the audio chipset is part of the motherboard, so no, you don't need a sound card.

Intergrated lan means that a network card is intergrated into the motherboard. If you connecting to cable or dsl it will work. For a regular phone line modem you will need a modem add in card

Go to Dell's web site (www.dell.com), click on "Support and Help", click on "Drivers and Downloads", click on "Choose by service tag", enter your service tag number, and select your operating system in the dropdown box. I have an Asus Pundit-R that is working pretty well with Windows 7 apart form the poor performance of the inbuilt ATI Radeon 9100IGP graphics. To try to improve on this I have added a Powercolor HD2400 Pro in one of the PCI slots.

Unfortunately, there is no BIOS option to disable the onboard graphics adaptor - even when the BIOS is set to use the PCI card it remains enabled. I therefore see two display adaptors in Device Manager; the onboard one ('Standard VGA Graphics Adaptor' and the HD2400 ('ATI Radeon 2400 Series'). The onboard graphics are running with the Windows 7 vgapnp.sys driver and the HD2400 with the latest AMD Catalyst drivers (8.661.0.0) and everything looks good.

However, Windows 7 then uses the onboard graphics as its primary interface (as expected) and I can't get any output on the HD2400. Only one monitor shows up in 'Display... Screen Resolution' and pressing the 'Detect' button fails to add the second display. What I want to do is to get the second display running and then set Windows to use that one exclusively.

This could be the expected behaviour if vgapnp.sys wasn't a WDDM-compliant driver, but surely it must be...?

Any ideas about how I can get the HD2400 working?

I'm having a problem with my integrated webcam. It's built into my laptop, Inspiron 1525, and when I try to use skype, Dell Webcam Manager, cameroid, anything that uses a camera, it's like I don't have one. "Camera is not detected, please plug in..."

I've tried reinstalling all the drivers, and I'm still getting nowhere. Hi there,

I need some help! Basically, I have a motherboard: Foxconn Socket 754 3000+ Motherboard bundle 760GXK8MB-RS with Athlon 64 3000+ CPU and CMA-K8-2B Fan with an integrated sound card (RealTek Ac-97 Audio). My little brother decided he wanted to download a virus, so having rebooted windows, the audio didn't work! I thought I'd try reinstalling it from the device manager, once I uninstalled it, there's no way iteven recognises anything apart from codecs! I've tried installing the drivers via the cd, but I'm pretty much stuck!

Any ideas at all what this could be? I'm not brilliant at all with computers, so help would be seriously appreciated! I think I might need a new soundcard, but if so, how would I go about installing it etc?.. Thanks

A:Help with integrated soundcard problem!

Is it possible that little brother changed anything in the BIOS? I ask only that it is possible to disable an on-board card in there.
I suggest you boot into safe mode (F8) on boot and then clear all sound card drivers from the device manager. Then reboot and windows should reinstall the drivers once you provide the motherboard driver CD.
Let us know how you get on.

Hello, thought I'd try this in the forums. I'm an IT tech, but a little stuck on this one. My sister's computer is a Gateway and she called me a while back. She couldn't see anything on the monitor. I popped over and found the cable and monitor was good. It looked like the integrated video went bad. I ordered a video card and when it came in I installed in, turned on the computer and still no video.

When you turn on the computer, everything powers up, but that's it. I can't get into the BIOS to switch the card over. Is there anything I can do, or do you think it could be another problem? Thank you for any help.

A:Integrated video problem

As a rule, plugging in a graphic card when there was integrated video before, should automatically switch to the new card. But only if the BIOS is set to do that. Really got to get into the BIOS to find out. Try F2 or delete or ESC, at boot, could be any of those for BIOS access. But still try a different lead and monitor, although you are sure they are ok.

Maybe I'm just searching the wrong terms, but I've been looking for around four hours now, and I can't for the life of me figure out what's wrong. I've reinstalled drivers, tried roll backing to old drivers, updating to the newest, using Microsoft's device controller updates (??), and any other persons ideas from the forums I've visited and looked at.

So, here's my problem.

The Microphone WILL NOT WORK. At all. (Realtek Latest Drivers, etc...)

It picks up the fact that I have it plugged in, or when I unplug it. I've gone into properties and attempted any and all possible combinations of configuration to maybe get lucky and get it to work, but it simply refuses.

The microphone level is maxed, the boost is maxed, the troubleshooter says there is absolutely no problem, and both of my headsets will not work from either front or back pink port, even if they work on my laptop. (Also, the button on the cord is set to on, so I'm not overlooking that)

On the attached picture, it shows my microphone is indeed there and active when it's plugged in, but all of that "sound" it's receiving is just white noise.

It's driving me insane, I just can't figure out what to do.

Any help, any insight at all would be appreciated.

My old motherboard had a problem with the soundcard that wouldn't let it play sound from the right channel and I assumed it was a mobo problem. I just got a new board and it has the SAME problem. Could it be my case, or what? Thanks!

A:Integrated Motherboard Soundcard Problem

your motherboard has a soundcard jumper block somewhere on it that is wired to your front panel ports. a bad conenction or disconnected wire there could easily be causing your problem. refer to your motherboard's manual for the pinout specs.

I'm pretty sure it has to do with video drivers, because I don't have this mobo's driver CD. I had to search around for drivers and had a problem with my integrated sound card, which I already resolved by downloading them trough the manufacturer's webpage. Ok, on to the problem:

I can watch .avi, .mkv, etc videos fine, but I noticed that YouTube videos kind of stutter whilst watching them, I mean, they're viewable, albeit with a slight glitch when the video is too fast. But that never happened with my previous PC, which had an integrated 32MB Video Card. This one's got a 64MB one.

Also, I tried playing the simplest of games, one was 1997's Sega Rally Championship, and first of all, there's music in the menu, but in-game music is almost mute (engine, crowd, co-pilot audio is normal), and the game is slow, almost half the normal speed. I then tried a japanese game (which ran perfectly fine in my bro's PC, AMD Duron 900MHz and integrated nVidia graphics card) and its system requirements were: P4 1GHz, 128RAM, 32VRAM, this one ran (crawled?) at 19FPS, and it should be 60FPS, rendering the game unplayable.

I got the video drivers through the manufacturer's website, VIA, using a link provided by Everest. I even tried older versions of the drivers but they were worst.

Hi armageddan and welcome to the forums

According to the HP website, your sound/audio solution is of the AC'97 type. You can obtain generic drivers for this from the hardware manufacturers - in this case it will probably be Realtek (link given below). To verify that this is the case, you will need to look in 'Device Manager'. Click the start orb and type 'Device Manager' into the search box and press enter/return. Click to expand the category 'Sound, video and game controllers' as shown below (this is from my system). If it shows as being a Realtek device then follow the link below, otherwise reply with this information so that we can locate a suitable driver for you.

I've recently purchased a (geforce 8800 GTS) video card for my motherboard, which is a abit NF-M2S. The problem I was having was that my built in graphic card, which was a geforce 6100 was causing my drivers to install incorrectly and caused my monitor to go blank. I was able to restart and hear the sound and everything but just could not see anything on the monitor. After much frustration I finally decided to go into safe mode, completely remove my drivers, then turn everything off, reinsert my graphic card, start it up and install everything like new. Not only was my computer able to install the hardware, it was also also able to install the disc and this time, my monitor did not go blank. I've noticed that some of my settings were missing so i did a registry and driver clean up (just to be safe) then reinstalled my drivers from my motherboard disc, all but the graphic driver integrated to the motherboard. So far everything seems to be running smooth and, I'm even able to play Oblivion on Ultra high with very slight environment lag but, a slight over-clock would be able to fix that.

My question is, should I of taken a different approach and I've noticed that there was an integrated section in the BIOS so perhaps, I probably should of did something in there. I don't know much about the BIOS but i do know that i have the important things such as keeping my PCI-Slot open and have it set VGA/PCI which was already set on there. Theres even a setting on ... This arose by me trying to set up Traktor DJ Studio (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Traktor_DJ_Studio), basically you need one stereo channel for the main speaker output and one stereo output for the monitor output which usually goes straight to headphones so you can cue up and beatmatch tracks before crossfading it into the stereo mix).

Now i installed the drivers that came with my mobo and 4 outputs were listed in traktor (great) so i set the frst two outputs for the main speakers as left and right stereo mix, but when i attempted to set the 3rd output for left monitor my PC crashed.

So I reinstalled the drivers, same problem, then i installed some universal drivers (ASIO4ALL) then meant traktor listed 8 channels which would be right considering the integrated sound is 7.1 but now I cant record from stereo mix in any application and all outputs other than the main stereo output have no bass or low frequencies to speak of, but im not sure if this was the case originally.

My mobo is this http://www.asrock.com/mb/overview.asp?Model=AM2NF3-VSTA and the onboard audio is supposedly http://www.cmedia.com.tw/?q=en/USB/cm6501.

What I need to do is be able to record off stereo mix again and secondly, use one of the other of the 7.1 outputs as the monitor output in Traktor.

Lengthy post but would really appreciate some help!

so the story goes...i noticed there isnt any sound for when i broadcast live on justin.tv, so i looked at the settings and noticed it uses my soundMAX integrated audio. so i tried fixing it through many different ways, trying to find new drivers, using windows troubleshooter to try to repair it, looked thru different forums, etc...

i noticed after doing all of these things that my WMM's audio was slighty laggy, basically 1.5 times slower than the video and it wasnt like that before ...

if ANYONE has any help or ideas to help me solve this problem it would be greatly appreciated

Hello, I was recently given a Gateway E4100 computer. It is a P4 2.8ghz processor with 512mb ram. The sound is integrated into the mother board. I cannot get any sound from it. I have re-installed Windows XP to see if that would solve the problem and have updated the driver downloaded from Gateways website. I have tried two different sets of speakers that I know work and still cannot get any sound. When I run Media Player, it shows that the song is playing but still no sound and cannot get any system sounds.
Any help out there that anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated.

I have dell e5420 with integrated webcam which has Windows 10 installed on it. The Webcam was working fine until last evening and this morning, it has stopped working.
The Windows 10 Camera app shows the error code 0xA00F4244(0xC00D36D5)
The Dell Webcam Central app shows error "No supported webcam found"
When looking at Imaging Devices under Device Manager, there is no driver for the integrated webcam.
Can you please advise how I can fix this?

I am using Windows XP Professional SP3. Anyways, I have an integrated 1394 network adapter that isn't functioning correctly. According to device manager, it's connected and working properly but when I go to network connections it says connected regardless of whether I have an ethernet cable plugged in or not. Whenever I do have an ethernet cable plugged in, the green light that represents exchanges of data lights up but doesn't blink. Packets are also not moving between my router (or my modem) to my computer. Thus, I'm not connected, yet no matter what it says I am.

I have already tried restarting my computer and unplugging and replugging in my router, modem, and ethernet cables. I have tried switching the ethernet cables. Also, I cannot remove the network adapter and plug it back in due to the fact that is integrated into my motherboard. Thank you.

A:Problem with Integrated 1394 Network Adapter

You should have another network adapter that is your ethernet adapter. Is there anything else showing in device manager for ethernet adapters? Possibly also in Other devices there is a Ethernet entry...might not be installed or maybe not working or proper drivers being used.

Not sure what the 1394 Net Adapter is for but its not your main network adapter.

A friend of mine has a 5-year old Gateway 500S desktop with a Gateway 17" LCD monitor which she leaves on 24/7.

When she entered the room last night to use the computer, she discovered the monitor screen was completely black. The green lights to the desktop and monitor were both on, so neither component had lost power.

She rebooted the desktop and was able to hear the starting Microsoft sound, but the monitor screen remained completely black.

When she called me and advised me of the problem, I suspected that either the monitor had gone bad or the display adapter had gone bad.

I would like to bring the desktop home and connect it to my spare monitor. If it displays normally on my monitor, then I can assume the problem is with her monitor. If it doesn't display normally and it remains completely black, then I can assume the problem is with the display adapter - in which case I can install an ATI Radeon 7000 64 MB PCI video card that I have in my parts box.

What are your opinions about this problem, and is there anything else that I need to check?

A:Problem With LCD Monitor Or Integrated Display Adapter?

Sounds to me like your pretty on top of it, but I would hook her monitor up to your machine or something (less carrying) but yeah, if the machine works on your monitor try the video card, and if your still stuck get back to us and we will help you some more!

I am working on a dv1000 repair for a friend who purchased windows 7 and wants it installed on his dv1000. I got the sound, chipset modem and everything working. However the graphic card drivers are being completely ridiculous.. Everytime I run the install after the reboot I get the following "Installing graphic device.." "Driver was not sucessfully installed." I then have a "Video Controller" unassigned in my device manager.

Does anyone know how to fix this? Apparently even in compatibility mode windows 7 does not accept the Intel 82852/82855 XP driver..

If anyone knows of an alternative driver or any type of solution that will work, it will be helpful.

The problems I get now is that videos dont render properly and move like a slide show. The second problem is the resolution resets after every reboot. My resolution area currently reads "Generic graphic accelerator" and I have even tried the 945Gm drivers as a legacy and regular.. No dice..

Hello all. I was having problems running Battlefield 2 and I updated all of my comp's drivers. Before I updated the drivers my mic worked fine in game. Now it will work for 5 minutes and then force mute. However, my mic DOES still work for Half life 2. I want to uninstall the Legacy drivers I installed as I feel that is the problem but how do I go about that? When I go into device manager it does not give me the option to uninstall the drivers. I have an ASUS K8T800 motherboard and Soundmax Integrated Audio. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A:Problem with Soundmax Integrated audio drivers....

If you are running windows XP you can go into

System Tools
(I can't remember what the English name of the program is) something like "system restore" or "restore point".

You can tell your computer to go back to a certain date and it erases all the changes you have made since that date (including deleting all software installed).

I was having an issue with AC'97 audio driver which refuses to install (although it says that it's installed after series of system nagging screens for untrusted driver installing) and then Windows installed some driver via Updates which doesn't appear to work correctly. There is a delay in audio and I can't even click on these Microphone items here:
Has anyone had this problem?

EDIT: Okay I've tried to install again AC'97 driver and it succeeded without any warnings. When I restarted the computer I got this but now with no sound:
All is clickable so it doesn't crash anymore. For the no sound problem that I'm currently facing, I've tried to find Sound Manager to see its settings but I found it only in C:\Windows directory and it doesn't open when I double-click on it. So it appears that it is wrongly installed or something prevented installation to do so. I've tried to uninstall it and then install it again, but the problem still remained - the only difference now is that Microphone (Realtek AC'97 Audio) became Ready and Line In became "Currently unavailable".

Two months ago, I purchased a ThinkPad 13, preloaded with Windows 7 Professional, for my son to use in college. We have weekly Skype problems, and we haven't been able to use the integrated webcam on the Thinkpad for our sessions.  We can see and hear him, using a smartphone at our end, but he can only hear us, not see us.  I have found scattered references to Lenovo integrated camera issues with Skype, but nothing that specifically addresses a Thinkpad 13 webcam, Windows 7 Professional, and Skype.  What can we do to resolve this issue?
