Wireless Bluetooth Headsets

Q: Wireless Bluetooth Headsets

I have a wireless Bluetooth headset for my phone, a Jabra BT250v.

I just bought Battlefield 2 and want to use a headset (VOIP).

If I buy a wireless Bluetooth USB dongle to connect my headset to my computer. Can I use it for Battlefield 2 to talk to other people in my squad?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I'm trying to connect my Bluetooth headset to a Windows 7 PC so that I can receive and make Skype calls. The headset seems to have successfully paired with and connected with the PC, but I can't get anything to play through it.
How do I check what is going wrong?
If I look in Devices and Printers, I can see the headset there.
If I right click on it and select Properties, and then look in the Services tab, it says that the headset is enabled for Audio Sink, Handsfree Telephony and Headset.
If I look under the Hardware tab, I see Bluetooth AV, Bluetooth hands-free and Bluetooth Headset.
If I look in the Sound control panel, under the Playback tab, the only device I see is Speakers. Should I see the headset here, if it's connected properly?
If I look in Sounds under the Recording tab I see Microphone (default device), Line in (currently unavailable) and Stereo Mix (currently unavailable). Is this correct, or should I see the headset here too?
How do I tell Skype to use the headset and not the speakers or the built in microphone? If I plug in a wired headset, it automatically switches off the built in speakers and microphone, and any phone calls that I then make will use the headset - why doesn't this happen with the Bluetooth device?

How do I debug all this stuff? How do I see how the headset is connected? How do I see what profile the sound applications (Skype, Lync, Media Player etc.) are using? How do I see what messages the answer button on the headset is sending?

I'm looking to purchase a multifunction Bluetooth stereo headset with a microphone. I'd like to use one device to listen to music and online broadcasts as well as use interactive tutorial programs and the online telephonic services, e.g., Yahoo Messenger. I've been using a wired stereo headset and a separate wired mic with success but too much wired hassle. Any suggestions for such a Bluetooth product? I've seen the Kensington Bluetooth Stereo Headphones with microphone, but nothing descriptive enough to assure me it will function as I wish on my Toshiba Tecra 5-M5332.

I have kind of an amusing problem. I rescued an exotic bird that crashed into the glass of my workplace, and he has been part of the family for about 3 years. He loves to sit on my shoulder while I work on my computer. Recently he has taken a dislike to the wire coming from my headphone and microphones sets ( on 3rd pair currently). I have therefore decided to look into a set without wires. I do not know the difference between the two Bluetooth and Wi-Fi and of course sound quality is bottom line. I am looking for a pair around the $200.00 Mark give or take.

This article http://mikebeauchamp.com/misc/sennheiser-hd-555-to-hd-595-mod/ says that the $ 150.00 difference between these headphones is the maker just put a piece of foam in them to cripple the exact same innards. He further proves a point with digital cameras, The software is all identical just crippled to make a lower cost unit.

So I need some advice I don;t want to pay $150 for some foam , I just want a good headset with a microphone, To listen to videos and music I am not a gamer.

When I was on the search for my wireless headset (mainly to use for voice chats and listening to music), I started to search on Amazon.com. From there, I checked the reviews, prices, etc. I wanted comfort as much as good quality. I ended up purchasing a Plantronics headset. Love it so far. My fiancee uses a Sony and he loves his too.

I must say I'm a bit surprised that I can't seem to find a definitive answer as I would have thought they'd be plenty of people in my position.

I simply want to connect two bluetooth headsets (would they have to be identical?) to my laptop at the same time so that my wife and I can either listen to music or watch movies together.

I've seen a couple of answers on the web stating the Bluesoleil software will do it but they might be just saying that get me to buy the software. There also seems to be a device that you plug into the audio port (3.5mm) although not popular and that's not using the onboard Bluetooth chip.

Obviously this can be done using wired headsets but I just want wireless.

Thanks very much and hope you can help.

I always thought of Bluetooth as such a simple act of connecting as speaker wire is to a speaker, when your friends thought "Aren't you afraid of electrocution?"

Well at the moment, I would welcome a good life ending jolt, just to complain to my maker that Windows and Bluetooth are not working as "A TEAM"

I recently obtained a pair of headphones that work great as a hands free solution to driving while listening to music and then taking a call, all controlled by a few buttons on the right earpiece. Unfortunately you have to leave one ear off when passing a cop, otherwise it looks like you have your parents headphones hooked up to a boombox, and you will get pulled over.

So I thought, well they have such great fidelity for the price, like getting Bose for $20 American, I'll just pair it with my Sony Vaio Win 7 64 laptop, barely 2 yrs old.

Well it can pair with the laptop, bur the fun ends there. All the wonderful troubleshooting devices on Windows 7 (that you know have a 1% chance of solving the issue) can't seem to connect. Finally, when Windows gives up, it directs you to Broadcomm or whomever lay claim to the ******* child known as Bluetooth.

Yes I tried all the driver suggestions.

You know what the big Broadcomm fix for Windows 7 does? - Stops after you've downloaded it, and start installing it, saying "an OLD version of Bluetooth has been found, you must remove it before attempting to install this update"

Thanks to everyone who offered advice in my last thread, but... after pouring over a ton of research and reviewing my options and gaming environment, it's clear that a 5.1 surround sound set-up wouldn't come to justice in the space that I have. Plus with my insomniatic hours, a headset would be kinder to the other people living here.

Do any of you have recommendations for wireless, surround sound gaming headsets? A non-wireless would be irritating as hell, since I get up to attend to other tasks and walk around my space a lot. Which is really annoying, since the ones that look best, quality wise, are Sennheiser wired sets (like the PC 363D). I owned one of their noise-cancelling on-ear headsets a long time ago, and I loved it (up until the wire near the base shredded from constant bumping around in my bag).

I am hoping to get:
+ Wireless
!+ Surround sound
!+ Mid-range or higher audiophile level quality in terms of the sound itself
+ Comfortable as technologically possible, since I will be wearing the thing for 6hrs+ easily
+ Long-lasting battery; for same reason as above
+ Open
+ Good for both music and ambient gaming sound

Above all, I am looking for QUALITY - something that will last, with great sound, long battery life and very comfortable. Even recommending me companies would be a great place to start, since I haven't gotten much further than Sennheiser. Let's just say I'm unlimited in terms of price, since this is one indulgence that I am w... Read more

Hi, Is it the following machine ?     https://nandizhang.com/2016/02/12/hp-envy-750se-desktop-pc-ultimate-unboxing/ or may be the following one:      http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04827062 Do you use/have a wireless network at home ?  If yes, very simple to connect 1. You need to know your network id called SSID and its password/key,2. Click the network icon (next to the speaker icon at the bottom right) ,3. Select YOUR network id (SSID) on the list then click Connect,4. Enter password or key to connect. This normally takes around 30mins to 1min to connect. Regards.

Hi guys ... first post, so, here goes

What I would like to know is, how can I connect my two PCs together?

This is the difficult bit .......

My main PC is connected to the internet with a wireless Belkin card.

Both PCs are connected with a KVM switch.

My second PC is not connected to the internet.

I want to connect my second computer to the first by creating a network, but I have no ethernet cable and only the one wireless card in (PC #1) ... but I have a bluetooth USB dongle.

Now then, is it possible to get PC #2 with the bluetooth USB dongle attached to network with PC #1 that is wireless connected to my router ... and if so, how?

I've been looking on the internet but I can't find a solution to my specific problem, so any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Hello and thank you for viewing this post.

So here's what I need to happen; I require two usb headsets to both function on one PC. I need the sound to be delivered to each individual headset and the microphone from each individual headset to be picked up by the pc.

I connected both USB headsets to the computer. They are both listed within Control Panel > Sound. I opened voice recorder and both mics recorded successfully. I played back my recording, but it would only come through on the default headset. Switch the default headset and the play back would switch as well. Both headsets would test just fine without having to change the defaults.

So is there a way in Windows to deliver the output to both headsets? Or perhaps within Media Player to play to both default and secondary headsets?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Its in the bluetooth security setting, I had a look at the sony errickson I have and its a per phone setting, so if you linked to your friends phone go into the options (more options) for the phone named "your friend" and you will find a setting for "connect".. "always" or "ask each time" or similar.

I suggest reading the manual for your phone, and turn off bluetooth visibility or turn off bluetooth if your not using it, I saw a program where a guy used a portable PC to hijack bluetooth phones and earn money for a premium rate number.

So I bought this wireless game controller for my pc. I didn't really think it would work but I figured Id give it a shot. I plugged it in at home and set to trying to getting it connected. It didn't seem to be connecting to any bluetooth network, so I looked for bluetooth in control panel and it didn't exist. I found out how to turn on bluetooth, but it seems in my 'Change PC Settings' menu there is no Wireless option. I went to the windows 8 metro thing and searched for 'wireless' and again nothing comes up at all. I checked my network and sharing center and then to change adapter settings and Ive got my Qualcomm Atheros AR922x Wireless Network adapter there and the device is working fine, just not connected to anything. Does that even work for bluetooth and connecting wireless peripherals?Anyway, I dont know what to do. I figured it wouldn't work out like I said, but I at least want to know why it's not working out. Anyway, any help with this would be awesome.

I want to upgrade my computers, I am over being hardwired. So I have some options out there. so far I am or seem interested in something like an Intel Network 2230BN.HMWG WiFi Wireless-N 2230 Half Height Single Band, or something similar that can get speed up to and faster than 300mps. I figure this is sufficient to stream movies to each computer without any issues (4 in total) (connection speed up to 12G DSL). and allow quick access to the network drive. My netgear modem provides wireless and bluetooth access at 300mbs. I would like to get my desktop computers up to speed basically, and should I use a USB card like NETGEAR WN111 RangeMax Wireless-N USB 2.0 Adapter or a replace my desktop modems with a different PCI card? I would like to keep the Modem PCI cards.

let me know some of the suggestions availible. Oh! also what is the diff between wireless and bluetooth. I know they are both wireless features, but why are they listed as different features?

A:Wireless, Bluetooth and Cards?

Bluetooth is one particular form of wireless. The term "wireless" covers a lot of different technologies, but unfortunately is often used as if it refers to something particular. For example, if I say wireless router I am referring to Wi-Fi (what you are talking about) but when I see a sign for "wireless" on a storefront it probably means cellular service.

Everything else being equal a PCI card is probably better than USB. But everything else is seldom if ever equal. Most important is a path with minimal obstructions between the router (or wireless access point) and the adapter's antenna. A desktop computer itself can be a serious obstruction, so it is sometimes necessary to have an antenna that can attach to the adapter with a short cable.

My suggestion is to get one USB adapter. Use that on a desktop and see if it is satisfactory and then decide whether you'll go with a PCI card or stick to USB. Then do the same with each desktop in turn. Even if you end up with that USB adapter being unused it's great to have a spare that can be used on any computer for trouble shooting or an emergency replacement.

I then tried to play some music through itunes. iTunes refused to play (the bar didn't even move) any of my musik. I then tried to listen to musik through VLC. Same problem.

I tried to buy a new headset. I have exactly the same problem.

Any ideas?

A:Problem with all USB Headsets

Are you connecting through USB or the audio/mic jacks?

The best idea when trying to test a headset is to use the sound recorder.

To access this you go to Start>All Programs>Accessories>Entertainment>Sound Recorder

Click record and speak ito the mic. Click play to play it back. If it works, then you have a software problem. If not, then it's a hardware/driver problem

I'm finding that the 10-meter range of my bluetooth headset is too restrictive, and too unreliable.
I've attempted to find an 802.11 [Wi-Fi] headset ... but to no avail!
Does anyone know if I can get the job done, over Wi-Fi, by combo-ing up a USB headset with [? some manufacturer's] USB-to-WiFi adapter ... and thus get a reliable headset out to Wi-Fi range??

Nope, Wi-Fi is only used in wireless networking hardware. You cannot use Wi-Fi as you would use bluetooth. Try looking for a RF headset, that would be your best bet.
