I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Well herro there :3, Anyways YO 8D

Im looking about for a portable charger for my TabletPC (Fujitsu Lifebook T4215) and yeah i know it's old but It works pretty well i will say abeit one big problem it has

It has HORRIFIC Battery life as in i can charge it to the full 4 bars of it's battery and it'll be smoked in about 15-20 mins, I've also got the power settings to near low (The CPU's clocking at 1GHZ now rather than 2GHZ (it's a core2duo t7200 btw) and the screens as dim as can be (I like my screens dim since i love the dark ^^) and since im wanting to travel about with it to my art studio that will kind of not suffice, and also i want to use it for enjoyment like while traveling and such.

So effectively the device i kinda want is to say a portable powerstation, And it'd be cool if it lasted upto per say 3 1/2 hours + from fully charged to near empty And as optionals too it could support nya other two laptops (Lenovo G550 and Acer Aspire 5742) And wouldn't cost me a fortune, 70? would be pretty good, But i also want quality too as this is likely to have some usage to it too.

I don't want the answer "Oh just buy a new tablet" cause i've had that thrown at me and i Don't want to invest money into ANOTHER tablet when i only just bought this one a number of months ago ^^; X),

As said the rest of it's good just not that end, And i'd also rather not take the thing with getting a new battery for it, so Pretty much as the title states, Best portable charger for und... Read more

Hi there

Another possibly better option is to get an AC inverter which you can run from a Car battery -- 12 V DC input ---220 V AC output (as you said 70 GBP I assume UK so electricity supply there (when it's actually working !!) like rest of W/N/E Europe is 220 V not 120 V). This way you can charge the laptop while driving , use the laptop "out in the field" ON MAINS !! and being a 220 V AC you could plug in two other laptops at the same time - I wouldn't actually USE 3 laptops at the same time though on the inverter as you mighty find the Car battery would run down fairly quickly.

(Charging 2 and using one would be fine though).

Here are a load of 150 W one's -- from around 12 GBP to 40 GBP well under your budget --- and to use just plug the inverter into the car cigar lighter socket and your laptop into the standard AC outlet.

Enc pic as well as a link since some people might not know what an "Inverter" is given the lack of any sort of Engineering knowledge these days in Schools etc.

This is the one I use the BESTEK (pic shown) -- as it's 300 W output and even has 2 USB slots for charging USB devices like mobile phones which charge via USB slot (not USB mini==>micro adapters are also available). I have a decent battery in my car so the 300W is fine for me.

Costs 25 GBP and I use a 3 pin ==> European 2 pin adapter as the UK has its 3 pin rather non standard system.

For more choiceslook at the link

Is there a way that I can get this to go away and charge via the PowerCore, or is that not possible? Also not really sure what board I should have put this in but oh well

I'm looking around for a universal li-ion portable laptop charger for my samsung series 9 laptop. Is it true that as long the output current and voltage is same or above the original charger it should be fine?
Also the connector tip of the orignial charger is of size 4.0mm/1.7mm diameter, does this mean as long as the universal charger has this tip size (even if it says 4.0mm/1.7mm designed for HP Netbook) it would work?

Has anyone tried this or have a story to tell about power banks? My relatively new X1C does quite poorly on battery if I'm doing real work, e.g. compiling and running apps with Visual Studio & SQL Server.  Fiddling with the battery settings doesn't make that much of a difference so I thought why not carry a brick with me when on the road? I'm just starting to look into it but real stories from real users are just so much better than generic 'reviews' or hidden adverts that have become all too commonplace in the last few years.

My Dell Inspiron 17R 5720 doesn't recognize charger any more. And unfortunately my warranty expired 2 month ago.It was plugged in and working in the morning, but then in the afternoon I noticed that it was running on the battery only. It wont start without battery (just charger plugged in).
1. So here what I have done to debug. Me and my brother, we have purchased the same Dell laptops at the same time a year and a bit ago. This is why for a debugging purposes it was good.I took my charger and plugged in to his computer. And it works. Definitely not the charger issue I guess. And when I plug charger in to my computer, green light is still on the charger. And I have the original charger that came with the laptop.
2. Now, laptop works on the battery only, so this means that motherboard is working. I guess.
3. Next thing I did was unplugged charger and removed the battery from the laptop. Then I pushed and hold "Power" button for 45 seconds to discharge a flea charge. Plugged charger back in but laptop wont start.
4. Next I started laptop on the battery, went to BIOS and checked if the charger is recognized in the BIOS. No, it doesn't recognize charger. So, if it is not a charger then what else can it be?
5. Laptop doesn't have any strange smells so I'm not sure if anything happened with the motherboard, but I would assume mother board is ok because it works of the battery.
6. I was thinking updating the BIOS, but I can't, because it wont update whi... Read more

A:Dell Inspiron 17R 5720 doesn't work with charger. Charger is not recognized. Not charger problem.

Hi CJ777,
Thanks for reaching out with your query. You pretty much figured out all points of failure. Good job.
If the adapter is not detected in BIOS, it most likely is an issue with the mother board. In the BIOS set up, AC adapter should show up as 65w or 90w. If the adapter status is 'None' or 'Unknown Device Installed', it indicates that the mother board is not detecting the adapter for which the battery is not getting charged. Once the battery charge drains, I'm sure the adapter will not charge it again. Replacing the system board should resolve this issue.

Hi! I have 4 years old Lenovo Yoga Ideapad 13.  The problems started couple weeks ago, when the computer wouldn't run or start up without being plugged in. I followed some other people's advice and got a new battery. It seemed to fix to problem for while. Now few weeks after the same problem stands with the new battery. It won't start or run, but when plugged in it says the battery is 100% and charging.   I tried checking if the charger isn't working, but it charges all fine on my other Yoga, which has the same charger model. So please note that this isn't the common problem that is seen here on the forums, that the battery doesnt charge. I'm pretty frustrated, as this problem persists even though I changed the battery. Anyone have ideas? I figured it could have something to do with the battery wire connecting battery to the motherboard, but there doesn't seem to be any defects or loose wires.  However, I tried taking off the battery connection wire when plugged in, and then I get the message "No battery detected" instead of the regular "100% Fully charged". Any help is appreciated.

When I plug the charger in the message on the battery icon on the bottom toolbar reads as "73%, plugged in, not charging". Obviously the laptop is recognising the charger (i.e "plugged in") but it is not allowing the battery to charge.
I have installed every update on the computer and I have recently searched for any outstanding BIOS updates. The system seems to suggest there is a BIOS update to be installed yet when I try to install it the system says that it cannot detect a charger, and won't complete the update, or it won't complete the update without a charger plugged in in the first place. It's a no-win situation. The computer and charger are only 14 months old so this is very unsatisfactory. When I remove the battery the computer operates on AC power only, so again the charger is working, it simply won't charge the battery and therefore once the battery runs down to 0, which it will eventually, I will be limited to using AC power only.
If I restart the laptop with the charger plugged in it diverts me to a warning page saying that the charger is not recognised and I am given the option to go to the BIOS setup, go to diagnostics or to continue. If I choose "continue" it simply returns me to this warning page every time so the only way to power up the laptop is to do so with the AC charger out, and to then plug it in once the system has started so that the battery doesn't drain completely.
Please help.

A:Inspiron 15 5559 charger not charging battery (manufacturers charger being used)

An unrecognized AC adapter will not charge the battery.
First try a new OEM Dell adapter.  If that's also not recognized, replace the DC power jack:
www.parts-people.com/index.php
If neither the new adapter nor the DC jack solves the problem, you've got a bad charge circuit - replace the mainboard.

Recently I bought a charger for my HP G61-110SA which was just a replacement adapter. Now yesterday it did something weird. Basically, there are two pictures of the two indicators there are to show whether it is charging, one is on the front and one is next to the port on the side. Basicaally the charger wasnt changing the indicator on the side or the one on screen but the one on the front was working when I turned it on. By default the laptop chages brightness when plgged in but now it sort of brightens a bit (not to the full level as should do) and then goes back to normal. Today the laptop is still doing the same but the front light now only turns on for a few seconds before turning off! I dont know whether it is charging. Is this the laptop or the charger. Any help would be useful, I have attatached the side indicator and the front one

UPDATE: I found a website which said you could turn it off and start without battery but with charger and then turn off and use both. However, I turned it off and removed the battery and it wouldnt charge. Then I put the battery in and it started charging-weird. Also the light on the front doesnt last very long so I am stuck. ANY HELP?

Some software publishers or authors offer both portable and installable versions of their products. (Kee Pass is one of them.)

Is it advisable to systematically prefer the portable version, when running it from a fixed drive and not a thumb drive, according to the logic that if it's possible not to write into the registry, it's better not to ?

I often try new software, and I'm concerned about long-term stability. I install and uninstall a lot, using Revo Uninstaller Pro. But I've come accross people advising not to use Revo or other fancy uninstallers, just to stick to the product's own uninstaller or the Windows function.

Also, I have set C-Cleaner to a daily auto-run. In the past, I used its registry cleaner quite regularly. But some people say it's better not to clean the registry at all.

So I figured the more applications could stay away from the registry, the better. Is this a correct assumption ? Are there any drawbacks to portable apps ?

A:Are portable apps preferable, even for non-portable use ?

HI
I have been using a lot of cleaning softwares too . Registry as well as junk cleaners.
Registry cleaner to me is a good thing as it removes the useless leftovers of programs that are left by their regular un-installer or some deleted files.

ANS1 > I recommended to clean registry as it improves performance and reduce junk in resgitry . So if portables apps dnt have or create these junks in registry then ur assumption is right and i m at your side too because " u dont need to re-install every software when u replace OS as it will work as it is if its PORTABLE "

ANS2 > Portable softwares are better then installed ones .

Above are the answer given as a user , i have used many portable softwares never had any issue just benefits

Hi Guys,
I have very recently jumped on board the XPS train and purchased the latest and greatest Dell XPS 15 9560, the 2017 model. My configuration comes maxed-out with 32gb RAM and 1tb SSD drive, powered by Intel i7 Kaby Lake processor and equipped with the gorgeous 4K display.
And I wish everything was perfect, but I after only 36 hours of use one thing is abundantly clear - this machine is far from silent because the fan is ALWAYS on.
A couple of Chrome tabs and the Media Player in the background - fans are on. Watching a 720p movie - fans are on. Sometimes I close all programs and leave it running seemingly nothing - fans are still on!
I don't know if mine is a faulty model or they are all supposed to be like that? I have read other users claim their machines are "dead silent", and I felt confused and jealous.
What's funny is that my previous laptop - a 5-year old Samsung - was silent for the most part with fans kicking up only at heavy load.
I tried changing the Cooling Policy to Passive in Power Options, but that made no difference. Unfortunately, Dell doesn't even provide a Fan Tuning utility - just a small bit of software to have more control over the cooling policy.
I would encourage anyone with the same issue to come forward, and anyone with a solution to share it with the community.
Thanks
Pav

I have a Mac with a DVD drive. My mac shares the DVD drive, so my other Mac can use and see the DVD drive. My question is, How can I get the Dell XPS 9560 to see and use the Mac DVD drive.
FYI: My Mac sees the Dell and can open Dell files on it. The Dell doesn't even show the Mac in file explorer?

A:Connect XPS 9560 to Mac DVD

According to Apple's support page about Remote Disc (the name for their optical disc sharing functionality), Macs can share their optical drives with other Macs, and they can also use optical drives attached to Windows PCs if that PC has the Remote Disc application installed, but they can't share their OWN optical drives with Windows PCs.  However, Dell makes a USB DVD drive called the DW316 that's available on Amazon right now for $35.In terms of sharing files from your Mac to your Windows PC, you'd have to enable sharing via SMB, which is the protocol that Windows uses. Your Macs can see each other's files because they use a protocol called AFP (AppleShare File Protocol) to share among themselves, and that's enabled separately from SMB. Macs are also happy to browse OTHER machines that are sharing via SMB even if they're not sharing their own data that way, which is why they can already see the files shared by your PCs.  I believe if you go to System Preferences > Sharing you'll see an option somewhere to enable sharing over SMB.  At that point your Mac may pop up in your PCs' Network view, or you could at least access it by typing \\MacName or \\MacIPAddress on the Windows PC.

This isn't a digitized screen, so you won't find an active pen that works with pressure sensitivity, etc.  Whatever you do buy will essentially function as your finger does -- a capacitive stylus such as

A:installation of HDD in xps 15 9560

It depends on the original configuration -- does the system have an M.2 SSD now?  If so, and that is running in RAID mode, it'll need to be switched to AHCI (with either a registry edit or a reload of Windows thereafter).  If you try to run the drive in RAID mode, the hard drive won't be seen.
Other thing to check:  usually when systems are shipped with no 2.5" drive, the bracket and/or cable needed to mount a 2.5" drive isn't present - you may have some additional hardware to purchase.

After I talk to her, I found, via this forum, that there are many others who have the same issue. She said that they will send a technician to do it. So my question is that should I do it or not? I am highly skeptic about it. Also is there a return option? There is also another issue with the keyboard. When I use the keyboard, I hear some squeaky noise. It happens every time that I use it. However, my main concern is the flickering issue.I love the laptop, but these issues are totally unacceptable for a 2k+ laptop.

I received my XPS 9560 last week and am more than happy, however, I noticed some thermal throttling when pushing the CPU or GPU. I am accustomed to replacing thermal paste on laptops and are considering this for the 9560 as well, but only if it doesn't void the warranty. Is there any way to get confirmation that this does not void the warranty? On Reddit there are a lot of claims that replacing the thermal paste has no influence on the warranty, but nothing official unfortunately.

Hi All,
First of all, I would like to say that I am very disappointed with Dell. Last month I ordered the XPS 15-9560. Once I received, after 1 hour of usage a black screen issue appeared and every 10 minutes  the black screen comes and the system hangs. I contacted Dell services and after a long discussion and waste of time, they agreed to replace it with a new laptop. After a long wait and wasted one more week to get new laptop, I got today another. All data setup with personal data etc spend lot time to transfer data second time. I have again problem now laptop freezing 5 to 10 second. When I written email or used work words coming after 10 second. I think best option return back to Dell.
Regards,

I think you need to do a factory reset and not reinstall any of your personal stuff.  Give the system some time to get up to speed.  For Instance, just after you turn the system on, for the next day or two, it might be getting updates, both Windows and Dell.  You might try setting the Dell updater to not do auto updates.
The OS partition may be Bitlocker encrypted, which needs you to be activated and signed in with a Microsoft account before you can turn that off.  If you set the system for syncing, perhaps that is involved.
Having one problematic system is not unheard of, but two which have the exact same problem is a little out of the ordinary.

I have been using the Dell XPS 15 (4K, 512gb/16go - all (video)drivers are up to date & running fresh install of Windows) for a week now and I'm experiencing some lag on the full 4K resolution with Windows scaling on 200%.
When I'm scrolling through big pages with Chrome the page content is lagging as in short freezes and delayed appearing of new objects. In MS Word and Powerpoint is moving images and typing in textboxes in big documents also not smooth. With more graphical heavy software like Adobe Premiere are big screen refreshes as timeline movement or maximizing panels not that smooth as I'm expecting from the laptop'specs.
But when lowering the resolution to 1920x1080 (and automatically scaling to 100%) almost all the 'lags' are gone.. I think the latest Intel HD Graphics drivers aren't capable of handeling that 4K resolution and scaling well, but are there more people experiencing lag-issues like these, or has this something to do with my configuration?

3 Days ago my brand new dell XPS 15 9560 arrived. Everything started great, it worked smoothly (as expected) and I'm very happy with my purchase. The only thing that's bothering me is the fact that chrome keeps freezing the OS (which is really annoying).
Yesterday I started getting random BSOD's, the most error codes were POWER_STATE_FAILURE. After receiving this several times I started updating the driver (the one listed on the dell site) during these downloads I frequently received a DRIVER_IRQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL error or a DRIVER_DXGKRNL_FATAL_ERROR. But this still did not help, i kept frequently getting BSOD's.
Today I did a factory recovery, the only thing I installed was chrome and during the update of the NVIDEA drivers (which was the first thing I did after installing chrome) I got yet another BSOD DRIVER_DXGKRNL_FATAL_ERROR. I'm not really sure what I am doing wrong, am i not allowed to update the drivers eventhough on the right bottom of my screen I get a warning of nvidea to update my drivers? Should I contact customers service and return this laptop?I'm sure that all the drivers that I installed are the correct ones.As I was writing this, my pc had another POWER_STATE_FAILURE BSOD, and I kept getting it while restarting my pc. This again occured while I was trying to reinstall the nvidea drivers. Each time after I logged in to my windows account my mouse pointer dissapeared and after a while I'd get the same BSOD... I found out when star... Read more

can anyone tell me how is the battery performance of xps15 9560 with 56wh battery after the installation of internal HDD?

A:xps 9560 hdd installation

If you already have the 56 WHr battery, the hard drive doesn't consume much power -- you won't notice much runtime loss.  If you're replacing the 97 WHr battery with the smaller 56 WHr unit to make room for the drive, expect about 50% of the runtime you were seeing - if you were getting 5-6 hours from the original battery, you'll get 2.5-3 from the smaller one.
