I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

hello,It was working fine before i didn't use my laptop 3 days , then when i power it on after 3 days it showing " 0% available (plugged in, not charging) " .   And when i remove the AC plug, laptop turns off . (no hibernating, no shutdown, just off)i have tried - Method A:Remove the AC and Battery from the laptopPress and hold the power button for 30 to 40 secondsReplace the battery and ACBoot the laptop up and check if the same message is still displayingIf same error still persist, try to uninstall Lenovo Energy Management, reboot then install the Energy Management software again. Method B:1.Open Lenovo Energy Management2.Click on the bottom gear icon between i and ?.3.Under Battery Health, Click on Start for Battery Gauge Reset.4.That should refresh the gauge and let the system finish through the cycle. Method C:1.Open Lenovo Energy Management2.Click on the bottom gear icon between i and ?.3.Under Battery Health, choose "Optimize For Battery Runtime" instead of "Optimize for Battery Lifespan".Note: The latter option will extend the lifespan of battery by limiting the charging capacity to be between 0-80%. as mentioned in another thread in this forum but none of them worked.  The Battery Gauge Reset didn't start.i am using win7 , and this battery is 4 year old .please help me out of this problem.

I have aLenovo Z570 coming in for an upgrade.  Want a better WIFI card than the Intel Centrino 1000 that is a DRAFT N module. I have read numerous posts on the WIFI dificulties with Windows 10 and the Intel Centrino 1000 Draft N cards.  Even in Win7 or 8.1 there seems to be issues with connectivity, Wifi being "off"  and such. 1. Is there a white listed WIFI card avail for the Z570 that offers 802.11AC or N at minimum2. Does Windows 10 now support the old Centrino 100 card?3. Does the latest BIOS from Lenovo offer any help with a newer card?4. Does Intel offer drivers that would support the Centrino 1000 in Win10 on the laptop? Customer is running Win7 with complaints of WIFI drop out and poor WIFI performance  and I am looking for the best solution given the circumstance. All comments and help appreciated. There was a huge amount of POSTS from 2012 and earlier but not a lot since.

This is the second time that my laptop has suddenly shut down and dumped all the battery power. As it's a very battery intensive laptop, I almost always run it plugged in to the mains. On both occasions, I have left the laptop for a couple of minutes and would expect it to have gone into 'sleep' mode. However, when I move the mousepad there is no response and when I then press the power button there is no response. I have discovered, via the retailer I purchased it from that I have to remove the battery, hold down the power button for 30 seconds to drain any residual power and then reinsert the battery and it will power up. However, the display then shows that the battery has been drained entirely of power. Has a sudden drain taken place, causing the laptop to shut down and require this form of restart? Can anyone explain what is happening and if there is a fix available?

Hey guys, I just bought a new ideapad 110 (Window 10 Pro) few days ago and it is running smoothly. Yesterday, I upgraded the laptop with new 16GB DDR4 RAM (total 20gb RAM). When i'm running the laptop with battery, it lasted for only 2 min and it get auto shutdown without warning (like someone unplug the power source). Battery is showing 79%. Checked with HWMonitor and the temperature looks normal and the fan is running, so i guess it is not due to overheating. There is no problem with the AC power ON.  Any idea why this happen? Please help.

So everything has been working fine on my laptop until about 10:30PM EST tonight. I bought it new in August 2011.
Specs:

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium
CPU: Intel Core i7-2630QM @ 2.00 GHz
RAM: 8 GB
HD: 750 GB
BIOS: 45CN36WW

It's always been a fine machine with NO problems.
However, last night there were Windows 7 updates that were installed and then restarted my computer. I had not gotten a chance to check exactly what they were though. About 10:30 this evening, flash crashed in Mozilla Firefox which is not that uncommon, and from there Firefox closed, and so did my Microsoft Word and Excel apps that were open. From there, my computer began to shut down and restart. When it went to restart, all it could do was go to the opening Lenovo screen which gives you the F2 (setup option) and F12 (multiboot menu option) as it typically does. Besides a thin strip at the top that appeared after about 30 secs that only displays moving static that eventually will just stick, that is where the boot process ends. No Windows 7 screen, and certainly no opportunity to boot into safe mode to check for any problems. The screen freezes and goes nowhere.

So basically, all I'm getting in terms of boot options are lenovo features, not windows 7 features, meaning it won't boot into windows 7 or windows 7 safe mode no matter what I try. The biggest problem here is that I have no windows 7 disc to even try to boot from my dvd drive.

Anybody have any suggestions on what the probl... Read more

Are you able to get into the advanced boot menu by tapping F8? It might not be listed on the startup screen but it should still be there.

If not you can burn a repair disc from any PC with Windows 7. Theres steps from Microsoft Here.

Have had a Flex 5 1470 for 2 weeks and today for several hours I ran into this issue where whether it was connected to power or working on battery power I could use the laptop only for around 3-4 minutes before it woud unexpectatly shut off (literally an immediate BLACK screen). I could then power it back on and continue to work for another 3-4 minutes before this would happen again. I downloaded a CPU thermometer and heating was not the issue (was operating well below the operating temperature for the i7).  Any ideas of what was going on? What might have caused this issue and more importantly how to resolve this issue? Your feedback is appreciated!

Hello, I have ideapad y500 and  I've noticed that when ever I shut it off and power it back on the battery has drained. Its about 12% per night .. Its rly weird bcs i am not using "always on usb" or any others features. I think that it is HW bug or BIOS. I have noticed that when  i shut it down -> unplug the power cable then i remove and again attach the battery leave it for 12hours and there weren't any battery drain. So it only appears when i just unplug the power cable and leave it. I have read some topics(some ppl have the same problem) but i haven't find any solution. Is there any solution to solve this problem?? Bios version is the latest one.. I haven find any newest bios ver on your website.  Tomas

A:Lenovo Ideapad Y500 issue - battery drain (shutdown)

I'm assuming you have win 8. Try this:On the Windows 8 Start Screen, press CNTL + ALT + DEL.On the next screen select the Power icon located in the lower Right. When the options appear, press the SHIFT key and select "Restart". When the next screen appears, select "Turn off your PC". The unit will power down completely.See if you still have the battery draining.Note: Even if the unit is off, a little drain is expected to maintain the clock, etc.

Hey guys,So I have a Lenovo z570, and I want to put an SSD in it. Is this possible? If not is there a way to do it like a removable hard drive or something? I play games like Team Fortress 2, Minecraft, and Trove. My laptop is pretty laggy when it comes to games and I thought an SSD would help. I'm not sure if this is the direct issue or maybe I need a better laptop.

It was in charging state. Suddenly, laptop went dead and the LED indicator on the charger that is the orange LED started blinking. Now the laptop is not turning on and whenever I insert the charger into the laptop the LED of the charger starts blinking otherwise it isn't blinking (that is when it is not inserted into the laptop). Hi nimish816 ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.
Can you again try to unplug the charger and remove the battery , power drian down on the power button again and plug back the ac adapter without any battery . (power check out page 21)
Use the Novo button (one key button item 6 page 2) to turn on instead of the power button .

If same issue ,unplug the charger and remove the harddrive and memory (page 36-38) and try to turn on using both power or novo key. Would the laptop beep ( it should without any memory)

If all steps fail then call in tech support for service to have internal systemboard and dc in board and cable checked.

Update us how it goes.

Hi Pekacar,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

There are no specific OEM SSD recommended but as long as the specification match then most SATA SSD should work just fine. Just have a good return option just in case and you can also review the discussion here and here as other community members have successfully upgraded their storage.

Hope this helps answer your query.

Welcome to EightForums khainguyen97

I can only suggest is to Restore Factory Default Setting to remove W8 OS and re-install in a partition drive. You can check the official website of lenovo to get information or call the re-seller of lenovo laptop and ask them on how you can restore the previous OS.

Once you are done with the Factory Default Setting use this guide as DUAL Boot Clean Install - Windows 8 or Windows 8 To Go - Setup on a USB Flash Drive or USB Disk to install W8 and run properly. Or if you like to remove the default OS of your laptop use this http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials...ndows-8-a.html but I prefer the clean installation in a partition drive, once you got in trouble of W8 you can use your previous OS.

Let us know once you made it.

Hi all. Thought I'd make this thread as I've recently had some issues with my Z570 laptop after a fresh install of Windows 7 and thought it would save you hours of time trying to find the right driver.I started my laptop after the reinstall and had literally nothing on there as expected but downloading tonnes of drivers to try and get the wifi to work left me frustated as the majority didnt actually work. In the end I took the laptop apart to find out which network adapter I had it in the laptop as the support staff couldnt tell me. So it turns out the laptop is using a Broadcom network adapter not intel.. The driver you will need is on this link listed below. https://support.lenovo.com/gb/en/downloads/ds015008What you need to do it remove the old drivers or the inccorect ones from you system and restart first. Once you're back on the home page screen. Run the exe from the download and install and once it is complete, once again restart the machine. When the laptop restarts, use the FN + F5 to toggle the wifi adapter on and off. Once you have turned it back on again, you should be able to connect to the internet. I hope this helps.

I have an older Ideapad z570, it made a popping sound and it won't power up now either.  I ordered a replacement adapter from lenovo thinking that was the issue as the light on the adapter was not coming on when it was plugged in.

After reading some of these boards, it appears I might have an issue with the mother board.  I would like to see abou getting it replaced, but there are no repair centers close to me, and I cannot find any information on Lenovo's webiste as to who I can contact or where I can send it.
And information to this end would  be greatly appreciated.  Sorry to tack on to this thread, but seemed silly to create another one for the same issue.

Thanks,

Mod's Edit: Since your issue involves a different model it was moved to its own thread in the correct forum in the Lenovo Z series notebook.

Sorry to hear of the problem you are experiencing.  You can contact Lenovo Support at the phone number I have listed below or visit a local Best Buy store.  Most Best Buys are authorized Lenovo repair centers and they should be able to assist you.  Since your warranty is probably expired,  you can also take your laptop to any repair center that a friend or family member may recommend.

Dear Members,I am in trouble with my  Idea Pad Z570: I bought it couple of years ago running Windows 7. During the years of usage I had no trouble at all. With Windows 10 beeing released, I upgraded and it starts to make a lot of troubles: Bluescreen directly after boot or sign in, no WiFi, ... all the known stuff. So I decided last week to downgrade to Windows 7. But now, I am even in a bigger trouble:I tried to boot the Windows 7 from DVD and it crashed into Bluescreen saying: Windows Error 0xc0000225Restarting is not helping. So, i tried to go into BIOS to boot from another device, but I do not even get to BIOS or UEFI. So, thats a kind of Deadlock: I cannot boot from Harddisk because Windows Error 0xc0000225 appears and I cannot get into BIOS & UEFI because the Windows error 0xc0000225 comes before getting to BIOS. Hope this description of my current situation is understandable and you guys have a lot of ideas how to fix it. Thanks!TheGooner

Hello, I have Lenovo Z570 and for some reason, inbuilt, speakers are not firing up. Before they wwent kaput, there was some nonsense noise few time and then no sound. I check thru earphone audio out port, I can hear sound thru it. What all I tried(a) Deleted and updated drivers.(b) Reinstalled the OS (Windows 10 pro)(c) Updated BIOS.(d) Checked Device manager, all ok, disabled other out audio device like Nvidia and Intel digital out. Before I open the laptop to change the speakers, I want to do a audio beep/loop test outside windows in dos mode or something. I have downloaded the latest Lenovo Linux Diagnostics ver 4.7.0.8081 Mar2016 and ran it thru USB, it does not give any option to test Audio speaker, I tried other 3rd party software like UBCD, Hiren etc but none give option to check speaker thru beep. Any one can help me with how to do this test. Thankyou in advance.

Hi uzielkr ,

Gretings.

As individual diagnostics do not offer ausio test, you may want to test it with the XP mode in Hirens and see if online audio would be heard.  As this model does have beep codes to identify post issues , removing the memory would give out those expected beeps ensuring that BIOS configuration tab on power beeps are enable as default since BIOS have been updated.

Update us how it goes.

Regards

Couple days ago, my hard drive went bad and I installed new hard drive and Windows 10. In addition, I try to update BIOS to the latest software (45CN38WW.exe) but during update the BIOS program froze. I kept the laptop on overnight but it did not finish, so I was forced to restart Windows. Now laptop turns on but no video on LCD. I know there is a special process to recover corrupt BIOS, with USB drive and some ?Fn? keys. I will appreciate any help, thanks in advance.

If you have a z570 you'll know that they have a switchable graphic system controlled by a switch at the front of the laptop. However, after a repair by KNOWHOW, this switch is gone - they replaced the base plate obviously with the wrong model parts. Is there any way I can bypass this switch and enable my Nvidia card manually? At the moment it's greyed out in the control panel and I can't use it to play any games. This laptop used to have the switch. The Nvidia card in question is GT520M
