Zippyshare Malware Vault

Q: Zippyshare Malware Vault

Hello friends. I'm playing with some malware from Malware Vault in a Virtualbox image of Windows 7. When i try to download some pack from zippyshare links, usually open a new tab with a scareware alerts... Is there any way to block this tabs? I wonder if i could do this with Ublock Origin. Thanks

Preferred Solution: Zippyshare Malware Vault

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I am looking for collecting very large malware data and I don't know from where to start.. I have read about wine project which belongs to Symantec ' google it' and it looks nice and I wonder if there's something else like that ?

another question: that I have tried to dolwnload malware samples from the virus exchange section but it looks that all zippyshare links doesn't open and I don't know why ! any help ?

A:Large malware data + zippyshare

As regards the first question, it depends on whether you want a updated malware pack or not.
Here: ytisf/theZoo · GitHub, It is a file that contains many old malware but that are great to analyze.
If you want fresh malware, I recommend you to download them from malwr.com (you must login).
With a little patience you can create a good collection of new malware.

Zippyshare does not open? Sometimes the web protection by some antivirus programs (Webroot for example) blocks as malicious Zippyshare site because the page is full of ads that make it impossible to see the main page.
Install uBlock Origin extension of your browser (Firefox, Opera or Chrome) and try again.

Looks like you have something that needs professional attention. Sorry about AVG not doing it but this is the same with all of the anti-virus programs at times. I would like you to do a HijackThis and we will get this solved just follow the instructions below:

To Download HijackThis go to the following: http://www.thespykiller.co.uk/html/downloads.html

After the HijackThis is finished downloading and you are ready, run HijackThis and when the program is finished

Welcome to TSG Forums, yummynum!

Short answer to your question is, no, they should not be harming your computer. The infected files were moved to a place where they're not allowed to do much of anything. Jail, so to speak. It is suggested that you delete the "quarantined" inmates, as they still exist on your computer, only in an imprisioned form.

You might consider downloading and running HiJack This, and posting the log in a separate thread, in the Security sub-forum here. Virii and malware come in packs often, and finding one or a few is often a sign that more exist elsewhere on your box.

Hope this helps.

Hi leaving it in the virus vault is a good idea until you know no programs applications are being affected.
How long you leave it there is for you to decide.
A week or two should be enough.
It should be gone if you remove it..Avg will confirm that.

I'm not into the malware side of things. Other than installing, setting up, and updating, I confess I'm pretty ignorant. I've used AVG for years, without a hitch. I just started using the Opers browser and today I get a warning saying I have 2 trojans and they're in the virus vault. The objects are:
opr02GD1.htm and opr012GU.htm. The path for both are: C:\Program Files\Opera\profile\cache4\
Can I delete them from the vault? Is there a specific procedure?

A:Avg And Virus Vault

When an anti-virus quarantines a file by moving it into a virus vault (chest), that file is essentially disabled and prevented from causing any harm to your system. The quarantined file is safely held there and no longer a threat until you take action to delete it. One reason for doing this is to prevent deletion of a crucial file that may have been flagged as a "False Positive". If that is the case, then you can restore the file. Doing this also allows you to view and investigate the files while keeping them from harming your computer. Quarantine is just an added safety measure. When the file in the vault is known to be bad, you can delete it at any time."Understanding AVG7 Free Virus Vault" "AVG FAQ #647: I have some files in the AVG Virus Vault. What next?" The AVG Free Edition Reference Guide and Chapter 6 of the AVG Anti-Virus Free User Manual explains more detail about the virus vault. The manual is also a good resource for explaining the Control Center, Settings, and other information.

I have AVG Free and Antispyware installed.
I have been trying to get thru to their forum without any progress.
Frankly I am confused about what to do next!

Because I suspected a virus might be making my computer act erratically I ran a manual scan.
The results have me puzzled. The Control Center say my Data file is up-to-date and I am protected. The Test Results however show that Kernel32.dll and ntoskrnl.exe have been changed.
Is this an indication of a problem?

The Virus Vault shows 9 listings, the most recent in 2/07. My computer had been functioning Ok up to about a week ago.
Is this an indication that AVG did it?s job and caught these before they could affect my system?
The list shows I-Worm/Nuwar , Downloader.Generic2.EBC & several instances of Downloader.tibs all associated with Postcard or Greeting Card
Should I do anything more than ?empty the vault?? Or do I need to do more to remove them?

Thanks in advance for any help!!!

A:Avg Virus Vault

I noticed that my partition table MBR, boot sector, kernel32.dll, shell32.dll, ntoskrnl.exe all say changed. It is normal that AVG shows that files, the MBR, or Boot record to have changed. These are done during normal maintainance, when you, or Windows, updates files, or have had to correct errors on the harddrive. The only time that you should worry is if they also show as infected. To get AVG to quit showing them as changed, open the AVG Test Center, click the F3 key on your keyboard and tell it to accept the changes. If it still shows something as changed after this.. delete the file named AVG7QT.DAT in C:\ and AVG will rebuild it the next time it is run.The Virus Vault shows 9 listings, the most recent in 2/07. Download AVG Vault
Google Play https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.avg.vault
App Store https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/avg-vault-hide-store-sync/id798551573

AVG Vault is a ?mobile safebox,? which means that it?s a completely secure and private place where I can stash almost anything ? including notes, pictures and files of just about any kind ? into a place where it is encrypted and available on demand only with a special password code. Even if someone gets deep access to my phone or tablet, without that special password code, all they will find is digital gibberish.

Not only does this allow me to put my logins and passwords in a safe place, but I?ve also taken pictures of my credit cards (handy if my wallet ends up missing). AVG Vault also works seamlessly with your Photo Gallery, so that you can easily move pictures into your vault.

At your option, all of the files in your AVG Vault also can be saved securely to your favorite cloud storage service (like Google Drive or Dropbox), where they are backed up (again, with full encryption). So not only are the files protected on the device, they stay safe and sound even if my device is lost, stolen or becomes a brick.

Hmm..interesting...I'll download it later. Does it have SMS backup..?

I have been using some "vault" apks for a time namely:

a) Vault-Hide SMS ,Pics & Videos https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.netqin.ps
b) Folder.Lock_v1.0.9. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.newsoftwares.folderlock_v1
c) Hide Pictures - Hide It Pro https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.smartanuj.hideitpro

Of the 3 I uninstalled Folder Lock as it was always crashing even if I punched-in the correct password. I could not do anything and lost some pictures along with some documents(text files). Good thing I have a backup in my laptop. Vault-Hide I mainly use to hide some SMS and pictures. Hide It Pro (the same). Of the 3 I may be sticking with Vault Hide as I never had any crash since using it.

Hi, I found some internet worms on my computer a couple of days ago I don't think there bad, no new ones have come up, but I'm not sure if i should wipe them because they sound like inportant computer files. The first one is: C:\WINDOWS\b.exe, that one has a worm\spybot.28.BQ. but the file is a backup copy. The second one is C:\System Volume Information\_restore { then a bunch of numbers and letters} .exe, that is also a worm/spybot.28.BQ but it's not a backup file.

If someone could please tell me if it's okay to wipe it would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, AVG internet security 2011 has moved three items to the virus vault. Clearly this is something that isolates the infected items to prevent viral damage, but where/what is it? Can I get things out of it? Can I empty it? Can I view what's in it? Is there any chance of a virus breeching the vault?

A:Where/What is Virus Vault?

Open AVG, click on the History Menu - Virus vault - and then select Empty Vault if you wish to empty it entirely.

Items moved to the vault are quarantined and coded in a non-executable state and are no longer a threat.

It's best to quarantine things just in case of a false positive and if that happens the file can be restored. You should check what was moved before deleting and see if that could be the case.

Hi and welcome to TSF.

Yes, see if it will delete from the Vault.

I would also run a temp file cleaner, such as Cleanup! and then an online scan at Panda ActiveScan or Kaspersky WebScanner.

If that's all that's been found then you are likely clean, but it does no harm to check.

Found C:\Program Files(x86)\IntelOpenCL SDK\3.0\uninstall in Avast Virus Vault. It's a false positive I'm asumming?

A:Something in Avast Virus Vault

It is related to a software installer package and generally found on this location C:\Program Files\ntelOpenCL SDK\3.0\uninstall\setup.exeIntel SDK for OpenCL ApplicationsDetermining whether a file is malware or a legitimate process usually depends on the location (path) it is running from. One of the ways that malware tries to hide is to give itself the same name as a legitimate or critical system file. However, it then places itself in a different location (folder) than where the legitimate file resides and runs from there.setup.exe is a common name for legit and malicious programs. If you suspect a detection was a "false positive", then you should submit a sample to avast so they can investigate and take corrective action. The basic procedure is that you download the HJT software, run it on your machine, and then post the results of the scan (the log) it produces on the HJT board - the specialist techs on that board will then look at your scan and advise you about anything that needs removing.

But they ask you to do some preliminary work yourself before posting, which is detailed here:-

Hi all,

Lately I cannot go online for more than 30 minutes without AVG detecting a trojan and having me put it in the Virus Vault or delete it.

Also could someone please tell me why I cannot empty the Virus Vault in AVG Free Edition V. 7.0.300 It is currently showing 8 Trojans in it and when I try to empty the vault it will not get rid of them.
Under the 'Virus Name' heading there are 5 of the same entries all identifying the same Trojan horse Downloader.Small.8.R and all have the same path C:\System Volume Information\_restore{}.exe. The other 2 are called Trojan horse Downloader.Small.11.BU and Trojan horse Dialer and the path leads to a Temp Folder in My Documents. The last one is a Trojan horse Downloader.Small.8.R and it's path is in my Windows\System32\dload.exe

When I highlight any one of these trojans it tells me in the information box below that it is a backup copy and that it is infected. Does this mean that there is an original file somewhere on my PC that too is infected?

Should I be able to find these files following these paths or because they are in my Virus Vault does that mean they are off my computer?

I ran the Panda Online Virus Scanner earlier and it found another Trojan and fixed it. I have also had my browser hijacked twice tonight but I have had that happen before and following the same advice given here I was able to fix that problem. I have had my XPS 8500 for almost 4 years now. Recently on looking at my Reliability Monitor I see that there was an update from DELL that updated the Data Vault to version I don't really know what the Data Vault actually does and have never made use of it. However since this update I am now getting short pauses and glitches when watching videos or listening to music. On searching the net the culprit appears to be the Dell Data Vault hogging the system resources briefly. I cannot find the Data Vault in my programs list nor does searching for DellDataVault.exe throw up anything. But it is listed twice in services in the windows task manager and shown as running. So how can I uninstall it?

A:How do you uninstall the Data Vault?

You can uninstall the program in the add/remove programs from within Windows. Below are ways to remove programs in OS's.
Windows 10

Hello all,I'm new to your list and I am wondering what I should do with a Trojan Horse Virus - Downloader Agent ETP which is at present in the Virus Vault of my AVG anti virus program. It has infected the file [b]A0053325.dll C:\system Volumn information\restore (F90AF224-EOA3-405D-AEBB-D6DB6D782604}\RP362\A0053325.dllI am a newbee, and I am afraid to empty the vault or delete it, as it might delete the file??? Should I uninstall AVG and then reinstall it to be rid of the virus? I would appreciate any thoughts on this. Thank you. Renoir

A:Virus Vault Or Delete?

Hi Renoir,That's not a system file so it is safe to delete it from Quarantine. Is AVG only finding anything in the system Volumn information folder? If so that is just your System Restore backups and as long as an infected file is in that folder it is locked down and won't affect you unless you use Sytem Restore. You can purge your restore points so you don't accidentily reinfect yourself by disabling then re-enabling System Restore. How to can be found here: Windows XP System Restore Guide.Managing Windows Millenium System Restore. You may still have something on you system that AVG has missed. After purging System Restore, update AVG, boot into Safe Mode and run a full system scan. If youhave anyanti-spyware or anti-trojan scanners update them and run them in safe mode as well.Let us know if anything is found or if you have any unusual problems and we may need to take a closer look.

I?ve installed a HP mv2120 Media Vault on my computer that?s running 6801. For the most part it seems to be working however:

?The Network LED on the server flickers some. I think it is supposed to remain a solid blue
?I am unable to turn on Network Discovery (running Kaspersky KIS 2009). Windows tells me it?s automatically activated for Private Networks, but the radio button is set to Turn Off Network Discovery
?I get a lot of communication errors from NTI Shadow: ?Communication to the HP Media Vault has been lost. Your file/folder changes will not be backed up. Check the connections, make sure the HP Media Vault is on, and restart the backup job?. However, I can see and access the server from Explorer.
I think something is interfering with my ability to set the Turn On Network Discovery button. The User Manual specifically tells me to turn that on.

This is my first post and I'm not familiar with antivirus actions. I'm currently using avg 8.5 trial version and upon scanning, it detected tacoda cookie, trojan and worm viruses in windows\system32\.... The program successfully put all four viruses into the virus vault.
The problem is that the trial version is going to expire soon and I've decided to not buy their licensed version. I plan to switch to avast free antivirus. What should I do with those viruses in the vault? Would they be released back into the system when the avg 8.5 is uninstalled?
I noticed there is a restore option at the bottom of the virus vault. I clicked it on one of the virus and it's not in the vault anymore. Did I do anything foolish? Please help. Thank you for your time.

AVG free says I have a trojan sheriff.D located in my spybot.exe program and that the file is in the vault.
If I click "remove from the vault" does that mean to delete the whole file from my computer or will it release it back into my hard drive?

Should I remove it, uninstall spybot and download it again?

Thank you.

We have about 200 GB worth of data in our Vault system– most files are stored as only one version. Our current backup procedure takes more than 4 hours to perform.

Since we are planning to add one more location in our organization, the size of the file store will probably double or triple in next two or three months. With the anticipated growth, the backups will take even longer. Is there a way to implement any backup procedure?
