Preferred Solution: Ausu strix 1050 HELP NEEDED

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I want to upgrade my gt730 GPU to a 1080, but I?m not sure if it?s compatible. If not, What?s the next best GPU that I could upgrade to? Thanks.

A:Is an ASUS GeForce GTX 1080 8GB ROG STRIX Graphics Card (STRIX-GTX1080-A8G-GAMING) compatible with an XPS 8910?

I think the card will physically fit. You will need to upgrade your power supply.
Search the forums to see what others have stuffed into an 8910 chassis.

Source: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 1050 Ti Review - TechSpot

Pascal is one of Nvidia's greatest achievements in the past decade. The company's latest GPU architecture took gaming performance to the next level with the GTX 1080 in May and then again with the Titan X only a few months later, though you'll need $600+ to get your Pascal party started with one of these flagships.
Gamers prepared to spend between $200 and $250 on a graphics card essentially have the GTX 1060 or its rival RX 480 to choose between (and both are fine options), while those with less cash have even fewer options, until now that is.
AMD's RX 460 2GB presented itself as the best choice for around $110 and not long ago you wouldn't have expected to find a Pascal card at this price point. With Nvidia's announcement of the GeForce GTX 1050 and GTX 1050 Ti last week, you can tell things are about to be shaken up when AMD anticipates its rival's launch with immediate pricing adjustments.
The Radeon RX 460 has promptly dropped from $110 to $100 while the 4GB model saw a more generous price cut taking it down to just $120. The RX 470 was also reduced to an awfully attractive $170. The fact that AMD was so quick to make these cuts tells us two things: they know what's coming and they know it's good.
" It isn't often that we see Nvidia being so aggressive in the entry-level segment and historically they've seemed happy to let AMD take the hit on margins here."

I have a gaming laptop I bought about 1 month ago...
It is an ASUS G71
It came with Western Digital 500 gb 7200RPM drive...
I added a Segate 500 gb 7200 rpm drive in the second slot underneath....

I cannot find anywhere in the Bios to make both drives work in raid...
And I am having trouble finding a way to do this in the software also...
I have windows 7 home premium and eventually I'll get windows 7 ultimate when the price comes down.....

I'm deciding raid1 for mirroring. I just cannot find where to do it... :/
And is there is any software for windows that's free, I cant even find something to buy......lol All i get is random commerical sights trying to tell about raid setups....

And, if I do get software to make raid1 for mirroring, if my OS hard drive fails, will i still be able to boot from my mirrored drive?
It would be nice

I was wondering what everyone else thinks...
And, I'd rather not reinstall my operating system....

Thanks for your time,

Don't know if this is hardware or software.

Have the Ausu motherboard.
I have gotten this same error before when using image programs and also using some of the image programs plug-ins.
If use bryce 5 and use a plug-in it seems to do it almost every time if I use the plug-in over and over.
As you can see I get a lot of error boxes and they keep coming till you close what ever image program you was using.
But today I got this twice and I was not using the image programs. Was burning some CD's and the errors just keep coming even after I closed the burner software. Your only see a small percent to show you what happens.

What does the error mean?

Something wrong with the mothernoard or video card?

The Issue

Relevent additional information can be found in this thread: PC crashed while in sleep, now won't start; no fan power

My PC was refusing to start because of a faulty graphics card after a strange crash, despite my never having problems with it before. I'm assuming this isn't some sort of power issue, A) because the fact that it was working fine and B) I didn't lose a boat-load of components from a surge or somesuch. I'd just like to find out what the actual issue was, and if it's fixable, or if I need to stay downgraded to by 640, that I'm currently using.

Hi again.

When I got my Asus strix 970 gtx on desktop the fan wouldn't spin but as soon as I started a game it would. At this point I didn't even have GPU tweak installed and would sound like it would go to 100% as soon as I opened up a game. After some time this stopped happening but the fan would spin but not as loud as at first was. I then downloaded GPU tweak and set fan manual at 100% just to test if it was the graphic card fan what was making the noise. When I set it to 100% the sound was the exact same. So why you think now the fan doesn't work like it did when I first got it.

Hi. GPU tweak set my temp of the graphic card to 79c and in games it runs at 80c. I lowered it to 70c and in games now it at 75c on the Graph.

In the settings there are default not in game mode or power saving.

GPU Boost Clocks 1253
Max GPU 1175
Memory Clock 7010
Power target 100
GPU temp default 79 I put it to 70
Fan speed Auto
Frame rate target 144 FPS
Display refresh rate 144

I do have a 144hz monitor a asus vg27he so that why I set frame rate and FPS to 144.

Just lowering the temp improved performance even more but is this safe?. Also is lowering the temp from 79 to 70 does this mean that the card fan will spin when reaches 70c?.

Anything else that can be changed?. As jaggy edges have gone and is fine and no its not a placebo effect. :P

Also if you uninstall GPU Tweak what settings does the card run at?. Is it recommended to have GPU installed?.

A:Asus strix 970GTX GPU Tweak?

As far as I know you would want something to control the fans speeds so yea unless you have another item in mind gpu tweak is okay I have too on a asus 980-P 20th gold
Target is always 79c on the cards I've had even a evga 980 hybrid so I'd say it's normal and auto should be fine ?

Seems the temps are just the way they operate at :/

You can set your case fans higher too I'm not sure what type of cpu cooler you have but that one of the important temp readings

Keep your case ventilating well and you should be fine and cpu too.

I'm wanting to upgrade a couple of components on my pc. One being upgrading the ram from 4gb to 8 gb, the other being the graphics card. Currently the pc is running a nvidia gt520. I'm looking at replacing it with the nvidia gtx750 ti strix. Reason for choosing this particular gcu being the pc only has a 300w power supply and as far as I can tell this would be one of the top cards to use with a low power setup.Computer is mainly used for basic gaming (team fortress 2, left for dead 2 currently) but wanting to play other games but the 520 barely meets minimum requirements. If I was to purchase the 750ti would I be able to straight swap the cards and reinstall the new software to suit. Or is there more involved that my limited abilities would handleThanks in advanceKyle

A:Can I upgrade from a gt520 to a gtx750 ti strix

The nvidia gtx750 ti strix is likely to be a UEFI suport version. That means it would not boot up in your older desktop PC. You can only use candidate video cards that have support for your motherboard's legacy BIOS.

Has anyone got / used a strix gtx 970 dc2oc? When the fans start moving, 40% speed or higher, the card is extremely loud. At 100% it sounds like a lawnmower. Is this to be expected in a high-end card, even when sources say it is quiet under load?

Initially there was a wire protruding between one of the fans, which made it even louder, but I have definitely moved any wires out of the way now.

I'm pretty sure my previous hd 7950 was much quieter and was almost pleasant to listen to; this however is awful to hear.

I am thinking of switching to the MSI 4G 970 model, or the Evga, in the hope one will be quieter. Is this a bad idea or sensible?

A:Sound level - Asus Strix gtx 970

Yes, it`s been reported that they are loud.

I recommend you go with an EVGA, the ACX versions are very quiet.

Wondering if the oversized ASUS ROG STRIX 1080 will fit in my ENVY 700-049. I measured the case and it seems like it might barely fit, however I don't know the exact shape of the card. I haven't made any upgrades that should effect the way the card fits.

A:ASUS ROG STRIX 1080 in HP ENVY 700-049?

@SlimmonShady?, welcome to the forum. Please look at the card here.  You can go to the Specifications tab for all of what you need to know.  If this is the card that you want to buy it is 11.73" in length.  I know that you said you measured the case.  Measure it again from the Back I/O plate to the front of the case where the card will be installed.  This will allow you to see if other components will be in the way.  I know for a certain that it will be extremely tight and could block airflow.  Also, it requires additional power from the PSU.  Your PSU may not be powerful enough at 460W or the appropriate cable. Please click the Thumbs up + button if I have helped you and click Accept as Solution if your problem is solved.

I was wondering if anyone can help me with finding a good deal on a pre-built desktop PC that I can install an ASUS Rog Strix-RX480-8G video card. This graphics card is the only hardware that I currently have, as I am looking to find a good deal on any pre-built/ready system that I can install or swap this graphics card into. I am looking to spend anything under $1000 on the pre-built system that can accommodate this graphics card. An i5 or i7 cpu if preferred, or any compatible cpu that can work with this graphics card and perform decently well in video editing applications and games. If anyone can please help me find a pre-built system running Windows that would work with this graphics card that would be appreciated.

If finding such a pre-built system under $1000 is not possible [as pre-built PC's are usually more costly], if you can please suggest individual hardware components I can purchase under $1000 that will work with this video card that would also be appreciated.

Thank You.

I looked at other threads/forums attempting to find out how to fix this issue. I've tried "DDU" aka Display Driver Uninstaller and I've tried booting into safe mode and deleting all nvidia software.
I tried installing a game driver from nvidia with my current Laptop model and that seemed to mess up my graphics card drivers quite bad, it got me stuck in a blue screen loop.
I managed to open up task manager before my Laptop blue screened, to my surprise they was one program taking up my entire CPU... that program was entitled "system interrupts?" After about a minute my computer would BSoD and restart. I would quickly open device manager and would disable my graphics card (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050) so that my computer would be semi functional.
I'm not too sure on what to do from here,
It would be nice if someone could direct me to my dump file folder and would be able to assist me with my issue, thanks in advance.

Hi everyone. Im looking for some help/insight on how to solve the problem that stops me from using my almost brand new computer.

I bough an Asus Rog Strix Gaming Laptop 3 months ago. I left it on one night, and instead of going to sleep for the night, it shut itself off.

So everytime i press the Power button, the keyboard lights up but nothing happens after that. No fan noises, nothing on the screen. The most strangest part? Everytime i plug my charger into it (or unplug when battery has plenty of charge) it automatically shuts off. Also if I hold the power button for a minute to drain static charge, the laptop and the keyboard lighting shuts off atter the 7th second. Im close to giving up and just chucking the almost 2000$ new laptop in the garbage. If anyone can help me, please.... reply

Hello guys
I saw some people talking about installing an Asus 1070 Strix inside the XPS8900 case... it appears that it is a tight fit, but it works. The thing is, a lot of people managed to put the Asus there by getting longer SATA cables for the HDD or puting the HDD below the DVD drive.
So, how hard it is to put and install the Asus inside a XPS? Is it really necessary to get extra cables?
Thanks :)

Well, the recommend GPU is a GTX 660, so I imagine a GTX 1050 will be more than capable. I'm in the same boat as well and just bought a GTX 1050 TI. I wanted a GTX 1060, but the prices are nuts right now. I would get the 4 GB version of the GTX 1050 TI. You can use PC Partpicker and select GPU then enter GTX 1050 and find the lowest price.

Some people are saying it doesn't since the thinking is they would surely advertise it.  The thing is, the Nvidia card in the XPS 15 is said to have 4GB of memory, which sort of points to the Ti version.  According to Dell support, it does have the 1050 Ti but they failed to mention it on the website accidentally.  So which is it?  Regular 1050 or 1050 Ti?  Can anyone with an XPS 15 check for us?

A:New XPS 15: Does it Have a GTX 1050 Ti?

The New XPS 15 has the GTX 1050. The GTX 1050 card in notebook form can come in both 2 GB or 4 GB, so it is not as clear-cut as on their desktop line where you typically see the 1050 having 2GB and the 1050 Ti having 4 GB.Here is a link to Nvidia showing this on their page for their desktop and mobile cards.I also have seen reviews on the XPS 15 and some internal documentation pointing to the same thing.I hope this helps!Best regards,Brad

I'm on a really tight budjet, and by tight I mean that I don't have much extra money lying around. So, according to the information that I've read over the glorious interwebs, the RX 470 is around 25% or even more faster than that. But the GTX 1050 Ti is around 30 euros more expensive. I don't know if the trade off is worth it to pay the extra to get some performance, so I'm asking it here. I'm hoping for some quick responses from y'all. Also I like Shadowplay alot, and Nvidia doesn't play very fair on some parts of the hardware war.

Looking at these cards there is a bit of a price difference, the MSI is ?479 and the ASUS is ?299.
The MSI does have better specifications than the ASUS so in performance I would go with the MSI. Although for value for money the ASUS is very good! So if I was just going for performance I would choose the MSI but if I wanted value for money then the ASUS is the one I would go for!

Hi everyone, I have a Lenovo h50 50 more or less so, I put another hardisk and another 8gb ram now but the time has come for the video card GTX 1050 LP that should be compatible since it consumes little as the previous GT 720 it's the small version of the low profile somewhere I've read that lenovo sharkbay has problems of incompatibility with new GPU, right? What I would like to know is if my PC is compatible with this GTX 1050 .. since I have now spent 130 euros and are still in time before the courier arrives, thank you. Serial Number: H50-50 Desktop (Lenovo)  R300YSAS GPU: https://www.amazon.it/gp/product/B01NCRTMGM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Hello, I'm a newbie with hardware.
I wanted to know if I can upgrade my XPS 8700 (GT635 and i7 version) to a PNY GTX 1050, or if I had better upgrade it to a GTX 750ti. I am in a urgent need of upgrade, so I need to know if this computer would work with a GTX 1050.
I have this CPU for a time now. I bought it four or five years ago.

A:XPS 8700 and GTX 1050

Hello!  If I remember correctly the stock Power supply is 460W in general so you shouldn't have any issues.  I'd spring for the 1050ti single fan that doesn't require an external 6 pin connector if you can, but if not the 1050 should do nicely.  Just make sure its doesn't need a 6 pin external connection if you don't have it.

oh hello, Windows Seven Forum.

Well, i just bought both a new laptop and a new printer. the laptop being a HP Windows 7 64 bit, blah blah. and the printer/scanner being the Deskjet 1050.

Nooooow... i popped in the installation disk and... well, i won't install. it says "Installation Error: The Windows Installer Service cannot be accessed".

now I've Googled like crazy and nothing seems to solve the problem. I've gone to the HP website and downloaded the appropriate drivers and tried using that instead of the disk and just the same exact thing happens, "Installation Error".

so... does anyone know anything that can help?
Also, suddenly, I can't seem to download the new iTunes update either so... yeah. My laptop isn't being very helpful.
