slow computer, keyboard freezes, internet freezes

Q: slow computer, keyboard freezes, internet freezes

I wondered whether I could get help with a increasing slow and infected computer, internet and email freezes, so does the keyboard and sometimes the cursor moves on it's own. It is a HP windows 7, 64 bit OS, 4.00 GB, AMD E-350 processor 1.60 GHz. Below are the logs. I have had to attach the ark txt file as the message board will only allow a certain number of characters

Preferred Solution: slow computer, keyboard freezes, internet freezes

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Hi all,For several months my PC has been frustratingly slow. However, I have dealt with it. Now however, when I click on "start" my PC will completely freeze, not allowing me to access anything. When closing programs, the desktop slowly scrolls back onto the screen instead of instantly appearing. I wish there was more details to share but there is none to my knowledge. I was recently infected with the Total Internet Security 2010 virus.... I cleaned it up w/ Malwarebytes but my computer still runs really slow and my internet will freeze. Especially when it's trying to play videos. Things just freeze up. I tried a few scan programs S&D and symantec antivirus and didn't pick up anything new. I wasn't really able to complete running comobofix (even when i re-named the file). Haven't been successful to get my computer recovered. Just thought I'd let yall know, I haven't been able to start up my computer in SafeMode. It would crash in a blue screen and say that I might have a possible virus. Still can't run ComboFix without it freezing/stopping. I also see this file wmiprsve.exe pop-up and have seen the name in a few folders. Internet Explorer would freeze after maybe 5-10 min of use.Hope yall can help. Hi, I must admit I had posted the same issue in another forum. It had been more than five days with no response so I come here for help. I need to resolve it before I start to work on my school assignment.

I had encountered some annoying issues with my PC especially with my keyboard. Every now and then I can sense that the keyboard and the mouse is not reacting well. My mouse will hang a bit and move every now and then. As for my keyboard, it did not work very well. Either it lags as I typed and I ended up missing a few letters or space in my message or I will get something like this. You sssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssee. That is wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwhat I meaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan. I can ended up deleting my sentences thanks to this. I'm wondering if I caught some virus somewhere.

Please help. Thanks a lot.

I'm having some problems and would appreciate any help. I got an old computer for free a few days ago. Let me start by mentioning the specs:
Windows XP Home Edition SP2
AMD Duron 850Mzh
ATI AWI 128 Pro
The computer has rather obviously been modified and now has XP as mentioned and 3 separate hard drives for well over 50GB.
Every time I ran the computer the message ''cpu is unworkable or has changed'' came up, but pressing F1 allowed the computer to run without any issues. I did some reading online how to remove this problem and there was a post where someone mentioned that something as simple as saving and exiting (in the startup (BIOS) setup after pressing 'del') could remove the issue. I didn't change any settings at all myself since I got the computer and then resumed to do so, save and exit. My computer made the default restart automatically after doing so but after restart nothing at all happend, no 'beep' sound, monitor: 'no signal', just the power was on. After some tweeking I found out that my keyboard with a PS/2 port is causing the problem at every startup, my mouse in it's PS/2 port works fine. If I restart without the keyboard XP runs without problems. To get a new Windows startup to work if I plug in the keyboard I need to remove my power cord (turning off isn't enough). Also if I plug in the keyboard after XP is up and running and my mouse works everything freezes and ... Read more

List user partitions and memory sizes
List minidump files

I am now stuck using my on-screen keyboard and it works just fine. I uninstalled my keyboard and reinstalled it and there was no difference. This following message appears in the keyboard device status: Windows cannot start this device because it's configuration information (in the registy) is incomplete or damaged (Code 19). A:Internet Explorer Freezes When Started & Firefox Freezes/crashes On Some Websites

Hello and welcome to BleepingComputer. One or more of the identified infections is a backdoor trojan. You have a very severely infected system -- likely because of the lack of antivirus & firewall software. This allows hackers to remotely control your computer, steal critical system information and download and execute files.I would counsel you to disconnect this PC from the Internet immediately. If you do any banking or other financial transactions on the PC or if it should contain any other sensitive information, please get to a known clean computer and change all passwords where applicable, and it would be wise to contact those same financial institutions to apprise them of your situation.Though the trojan has been identified and can be killed, because of it's backdoor functionality, your PC is very likely compromised and there is no way to be sure your computer can ever again be trusted. Many experts in the security community believe that once infected with this type of trojan, the best course of action would be a reformat and reinstall of the OS. Please read these for more information:How Do I Handle Possible Identify Theft, Internet Fraud and CC Fraud? When Should I Format, How Should I ReinstallWe can clean this machine but I cannot guarantee it will be 100% secure afterwards. What hardware has it found? That could be a clue as to what's causing the problem. You may possibly have contracted a virus, so try a complete virus scan. It sounds like Windows is corrupted so start thinking about a clean install of XP .

Hey, just added some more memory and a new gfx card to my computer and reinstalled windows xp, first of all heres my pc specs..

Intel C2D E8400 CPU @ Stock (3.00Ghz)
Asus P5K Motherboard
4GB OCZ Platinum (4x1GB)
8800GTS 512MB (Using 80.84 Beta drivers)
500W PSU

So after i formatted my hdd and reinstalled drivers and all my software rebooted, then i put my xbox 360 controller ran a benchmark on gta iv and then installed some new beta nvidia drivers and restarted, the pc didnt load any of the startup programs exept nvidia manager, i clicked the start menu and the pc froze i coulnt move the mouse, access task manager or anything else...

I rebooted and it kept doing the same thing, i thought it might be something todo with my 360 controller as i had used that in gta iv and i forgot to install the drivers, i removed it and tried again, same thing.

So this was last night and i reinstalled windows and all drivers over night, today i turn on my computer and after about 20 minutes, i was on the internet and clicked on some link and the computer froze jsut like last night, now its back to doing the same thing again (not loading startup programs, freezing when i right click and the keyboard doesnt work!

This is really pissing me off as the comp was fine before i upgraded it.

P.S: im thinking it could be something to do with the Beta nvidia drivers im using (there supposed to make gta iv run better, but who knows)

Thanks in advance, tech.

Hello! I've had this problem for a week now.

Sometimes when I run my computer for a longer duration my mouse and keyboard freeze with the screen, I can still hear sounds etc. Then all of the sudden the computer unfreezes and I can continue for a few seconds and experience another freeze. This might continue for a while but after some time the computer freezes again and doesnt unfreeze, I tried unplugging my mouse and then putting it back to the usb port in my motherboard, but this time the mouse doesnt power back on (the light on the bottom doesnt come on).
I havent gotten any error messages from this, this might be because I power my computer off before anything pops up.
Also one wierd thing that happend while this freezing occured was the fact that my cursor didnt change while moving it over hypertext or selecting text. Also the text selector cursor was bugged and it changed colours while moving it accross different colors.

One thing I might suspect is the fact that my CMOS battery is failing, I had a some kind of a corruption error with it earlier and fixed it by reseating the battery. The Motherboard I'm using is an Asus P8Z68-V LX

This is really wierd since sometimes I might be on skype and this happens and I still hear my friend. Just cant talk to him thought.

I hope this problem can be resolved, because it is really annoying and kinda stressfull since I wouldnt want my computer to fail.

A:Computer freezes frequently, closing all inputs (mic, mouse, keyboard)

It sounds like a possible bad driver, or something became corrupt with either a video or sound driver. I would check and make sure that you have the most up-to-date drivers installed.

Hello, i have a few problems today first like mentioned above my microsoft 8000 keyboard freezes my computer i built in august when it says "starting windows" before the picture shows up on windows 7 and the only way it'll work is if i unplug it and then load windows and plug it back in but i have to use an ps/2 keyboard (i soon wont have) to select start windows normally from having to shut it off so can anyone help and tell me what the problem may be?

I also have another issue with a computer i built for my brother recently for christmas it wont let me install windows 7 or vista on a seagate 500gb drive and i even tryed linux with two dvd drives but got an i/0 error on unbuntu and linspire linux. I believe it may be going to die because when i put it in my computer it says status bad backup and replace it did not say that at first and it only says it on my motherboard a biostar 790gx 128m but not on a gigabyte ma78lm-s2h motherboard, anyway when i put my western digital drive in the new computer it wont boot the already installed windows 7 64 bit on it, it either freeze at the graphics logo or keeps restarts after that and one time i got it to load to the login but took forever so i shut down, it works fine on mine so is this driver related or hardware? i will list hardware if needed (these are both amd pcs)

My internet is running very slow. At times when I choose a link a random link with a different address pops up but is blocked off. One appeared called Ssl.gstatic.com, fls.doubleclick.net and vesteddigital.com. I have pop up blocker on and from time to time the CPU usage on the windows task manager jumps from 10% to 90%. I don't know why it's slowing down so much or if it has some sort of bug. I scanned it with malware on safe mode and it found 3 items. I quarantined them and it still is slow. Also I have to continuously press F8 when I turn my CPU on for my TV screen to register. This didn't happen before. Is there a way to fix these issues? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi, I recently posted this thread previously but did not receive a responce after a couple of weeks; I did reply with bump too. Here is the details of my old post:

Hello, I have been helped here numerous times here before and am now trying to clean up my dad's pc. It's a Dell with a 2 ghz P4 processor, 256mb of RAM, and plenty of room on the hd. It is running Windows XP and has all updates. This computer takes at least 10 minutes to boot up and load all the programs; I understand this has some relation to Norton, but the pc's performance is decreasing. Web browsing is very slow and sometimes sites don't even open. I often have to close and re-open my browser to load a page. All help is greatly appreciated!! Thanks!

A:Long boot, slow internet, freezes up

You dont have a virus problem.Your problem is that there is not enough RAM.256mb of RAM is the minimum recomendation for XP.Add that to all the programs you have running and that will account for your slowness in booting up and running programs...Get more Ram.

My computer is running very slow on the internet. It's Windows 7 Ultimate. I scanned it with Malware in safe mode and no threats popped up when I click on the internet it takes a long time to load and sometimes no pages appear at all. When I use the task manager the usage starts and 15% and jumps to 80%. And slows down. I don't know if it's popups or a hack or virus. I would just like it to go back to normal. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi I am having this problem for about a month or so now. Everytime, I watch videos on youtube or netflix, my computer freezes up. It will be fine in the beginning but then after a little bit it freezes, I can hear the audio but the video freezes up. I use both Firefox and IE, and the problem seems to be in both places. Sometimes, if I listen to music from Windows media player and browse the web, the music slows down. It also happens in Zune. Right now, my CPU performance is very high. It keeps going from 54% to 100%, keeps going up and down. I only have my browser open at the moment, and the Task Manager.

I am using a Dell XPS M1210 laptop. Windows XP SP3, Intel(R)CPU, [email protected], 998MHz, 2.00GB of RAM.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

My computer all of a sudden started freezing up on me a few days ago. I have had to restart my computer multiple times a day now because it just freezes up and the mouse pointer just starts to roll in circles and I can't seem to be able to click anything. Anything I click on the monitor freezes! Please help!

This computer is pretty new..., I bought it about two years ago. I used to use Vista Home Premium, but I now have Windows 7 (upgraded almost a month now) and everything has been working all right. I think everything went uphill and computer started freezing after I installed Spyware Doctor a few days ago. I have since uninstalled, but the computer continues to freeze on me.

I currently have ESET Smart Security v 4, Malwarebytes v 1.46, Spybot, SpywareBlaster, Ad-ware. I had SuperAntiSpyware, but I just uninstalled it today because I thought maybe that was why my computer was freezing up, but even after uninstalling SAS, my computer just froze up again just a few minutes ago and I had to restart the computer.

I'll greatly appreciate your assistance because I'm really fed up of having to restart my computer multiple times a day.

Also, sometimes when I restart, the speaker doesnt work. No sound. And then I have to restart it again until the speaker works. I have had to restart the computer 2-3 times sometimes before the speaker finally works. Why???

Please help me!

For several days, my computer has been freezing for 1-2 minutes when I open a program, open a file, go to a website, etc.

The problem started when I tried to boot up my computer (Windows 7). A screen appeared which said that Windows was attempting to repair my system. After a period of about 3 hours, I was able to get to my desktop. I ran a full scan on Microsoft Security Essentials, and it identified 2 bad files (sorry, I didn't write them down).

I read the instructions on this website and have attached the files as requested. I would appreciate any help as I am a novice with computers. Thank you.

Hi and Welcome!!

My name is Jeff. I would be more than happy to take a look at your malware results logs and help you with solving any malware problems you might have. Logs can take a while to research, so please be patient and know that I am working hard to get you a clean and functional system back in your hands. I'd be grateful if you would note the following:
The fixes are specific to your problem and should only be used for the issues on this machine.
It's often worth reading through these instructions and printing them for ease of reference.
If you don't know or understand something, please don't hesitate to say or ask!! It's better to be sure and safe than sorry.
Please reply to this thread. Do not start a new topic.
If you happen to have a flash drive/thumb drive please have that ready in the event that we need to use it.
Please be sure to subscribe to the topic if you have not already done so.
IMPORTANT NOTE : Please do not delete, download or install anything unless instructed to do so.
DO NOT use any TOOLS such as Combofix or HijackThis fixes without supervision. Doing so could make your system inoperable and could require a full reinstall of your operating system and losing all your programs and data.
