yoga 700 14 Isk battery fail

Q: yoga 700 14 Isk battery fail

hi sorry about my English its bad am from Iceland. I got a yoga 700 and for about a month my battery died, and the charging light was white and blink orange once every 5s. I did not find on the internet any color codes on the charging led what it meant so I decided that it was the battery. I tried the trick to take the battery out and hold the start button in one min and many other tricks from the Lenovo so cold support than finally a got life for about 2 hours and then the same light on the charging led the orange blink. I took the battery out and got 7,2v on the red and black wire than I tried charging it manually with a charger for lithium batteries and that didn?t work I had to pull the tape off and get the plus and mines on the shells that are 2 and 2 wired together to charge it. I first drain it to 3,7v and up again to 7,4v that did not work. I thank that the computer puts a look on the battery or the battery is looked after it finds an error. Don?t know don?t really care ? Than a bought a new one of eBay and put it in and it start it up got it charge for 1 hour and the same thang happened orange blink I took the battery out and hold the start butt down for 1 min did not work so a left it without the battery for the night and started it up the next day to drain the error out. Got it running again first thing I did was to flash the bios trying to get the battery error out of the bios. I got the update from the Lenovo support page after that I did charge it to 100% and put the power off and on again and again I think that is it. as I am writing this on the yoga 700 that is 3 years old I thank that am not gone a buy another Lenovo computer at the start it was the intel HD graphic error and a fixed that with a update and then this battery death after 3 years love the design but going dead because of a battery error after 3 years and no way to turn it on with out a battery is stupid?. hope this helps if you get the orange blink

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

The battery status toggles between not charging, not used, and unauthorized battery after it was calibrated using one key. Before that, the battery was working perfectly, lasting close to 5 hours. Now the laptop shuts off when unplugged and the battery status is constantly changing. I've had this laptop for approximately a year now and it was unused and left in an unopened box for the first 8 months.

1) I already updated the BIOS
2) I already unplugged and reinstalled the battery drives

My Yoga 3 Pro-1370 does not detect its own battery. At the lower right of the screen, it appears the battery sign empty and crossed by a diagonal line. When I click on it the message "The battery is not used" appears.  OneKey Optimizer says: "No battery is present". Please see two images attached. Got the laptop and the battery inspected by a professional but he couldn't fix the problem. He himself updated the Bios, Windows, cleaned the inside and the fan of the computer but the problem is still there. Please provide me with a solution ASAP.

My Yoga 3 pro is still a nightmare and so far is unusable given onging battery problems. However I digress. The thing wouldn't charge past 72% and took 2 days to get to that from 51%. So yet again I searched the net hoping to find something new and I noted yet another updated battery guage realeased only a few days ago. I also noted that someone had suggested deleting the windows battery drivers in Device Manager after disconnecting the battery which I figured couldn't hurt so went ahead. Once I reconnected the battery, plugged it in and waited for it to download the battery drivers, I noted it didn't install the ACPI component. Now lo and behold, I have no battery guage at all. In fact it says "The battery is not used", but of course it is. I then tried the latest battery guage driver but no improvement. Can anyone help in this age old problem? Cheers

Hi community! I found my Yoga 920 sometimes ( at least once in a day ) suddenly doesn't detect SSD and cannot boot. In the case it happens while using it, bluescreen appeared and try to restart but after that the BIOS message says "Default boot device missing or boot failed. Insert recovery media and hit any key. Then select 'boot manager' to choose a new boot device or to boot recovery media." I found thread of same error cause on other device and solve by selecting Legacy Boot on BIOS but this device's BIOS doesn't have that option. Any idea?

So lately the system time on my computer wasn't telling the right time, and every time I changed it, it would just change back. So I changed the CMOS battery to what I assumed to be an identical battery, and Windows was unable to start and said I had to system restore. So I took out the old battery and put the new one in and the same thing happened. When it prompts me to restore and I click on it, I just get the black screen with the blue windows icon, minus the loading icon. What should I do?

Try going into your BIOS and resetting it to system defaults. If that doesn't work, try clearing your CMOS per you manufacturer's instructions. See if this helps.

Recently completed 2 new builds for my cousin and brother (both being nearly identical) but have got an issue on the latter thats left me stumped.

Basically, when booting up the PC there will be no output for the screen, and the system will apparently idle.

However, when booting up without the lithium battery to run on defaults everything runs fine, provided power has completely left the PC before powering up again.

---

So, if booting up without the battery and the system has been left to power down fully... its fine, if restarting without the battery all is fine.

If booting up with the battery or immediately after shutting down, it will fail as described, if restarting with the battery is will fail again as described.

This is true 100% of the time I use it.

---

OS : XP professional, SP2

Processor : Intel Q8400
Motherboard : XFX nForce 750i SLI
RAM: Corsair DDR2 XMS2 4GB
GPU: GTX 260
PSU: Antec Earthwatts 750watt

If that helps.

---

Any ideas? I'd really like to get this resolved so I can off load the PC , or at the least get some pointers in the right direction if anything needs replacing.

Thanks in advance.

A:Boot-up with lithium battery = fail; without = success??

I assume you have checked that the clear cmos jumper is in the correct or keep position.

I would RMA the board. FWIW when you do an intel build, you use a quality board using an intel chipset. When you use third party chipset boards like nvidia, sis, via, etc; you are asking for a problem.

If you really really must use a nvida chipset, at least go with a quality board maker. XFX is low end at best.

Hi all,
My Dell Inspiron 15, 3000 series, tells me the battery has failed completely and needs to be replaced. The laptop is only 2 years old and my battery use has been low. A new battery appears to be about half the price of the machine and I'm loathe to pay that for only another 2 years of use.

Is this normal? Can I check that it is actually the battery that is failing and not something else?

A:Dell Inspiron 15, 3000 series battery fail

A normal lifespan for a lithium ion battery is 300-500 charge cycles or 18-24 months, so it's not out of the ordinary.
OEM batteries are expensive - though there are third party ones at lower cost, it may not be worth the risk to save the money -- safety can be an issue with them.

Hey guys.

A few weeks ago, I was watching a video on my Lenovo 3000 N200 laptop, and I was called away to do something. I had it running on the battery (as a power source). When I got back, I found that the laptop had shut itself off. I just assumed that the battery had run out and that the laptop had put itself into hibernation. However, now, the laptop only works if I have the AC power adaptor connected - just like a desktop computer, If I unplug the AC power, the laptop simply shuts off, which is obviously impractical and extremely annoying.

Funny thing, on my power options window, it informs me that a battery is connected, but the current power source is still the AC power. The battery does not charge at all, but if I bring up the little window giving me detailed information about my battery it tells me that the Power State is On Line.

Obviously there's a problem somewhere. Basically, I'd like to know if anyone has any idea whether this issue could be solved if I simply just buy a new/replacement battery, or whether there's something deeper that could be wrong.

I even bought a new laptop (with better specs), but I cannot get on with it (because of the limited screen resolution) and would love to be able to have my classic laptop back.

Any input is greatly welcome.

Thanks

Following this, most updates on both computers fail. Downloads from the internet fail. Updating flash on one - failed. downloading .net framework update - failed.

One computer has MSE - updated and ran scan - no threats found
One computer has AVast - updated and ran scan - no threats found

Tried to download malwarebytes on the computer with avast - failed
went to XP station - downloaded to thumb drive and installed from thumb drive and ran  - no threats found

from cmd prompt -  ran sfc /scannow on both computers  -  no problems found

Can anyone give me any ideas of where to go from here to get both of these computers working properly again

So i guess it was actually charging the whole time without showing it?After about 2 days of ownership, I've decided to do a clean install of windows 8.1 followed by loading all the necessary drivers listed on lenovo's product page, and I can happily say this 0% plugged in not charging thing hasn't happened again.

Assuming both are genuine Lenovo. All dimensions except height (which noone bothered to measure) - are the same; even if the 370 battery is slightly higher and won't fit without lower case modification - it's nothing a rotary tool can't fix. 370 battery: 15.28V 51Wh (FRU 01AV433)260 battery: 15.2V 44Wh (FRU 00HW027) Is there any particular reason why it definitely won't work? I'm really on the verge of ordering one and trying for myself, but I'm not sure how does embedded controller (EC) determine if the battery plugged is correct,  and not really want to waste time if the idea is doomed to failure because some technical quirk I am not aware of - hence the question.  Why: while 370 is newer, it has glossy PWM display which ain't bonded with digitizer vs bonded matte PWM-free on 260. 260's weakest spot, on the other hand, is poor battery life - larger 370 battery could definitely resolve this problem. I'm bored until newer Thinkpads are introduced at CES 2018 anyway - so why not give it a try, if there is any chance it may work.

I've looked at online reviews which say anything from 6-9 hours for the 260, and I doubt somewhat Lenovos own clain of 12. Could anyone tell me how long theres would go on before running out of juice and any other considerations I should have when making a decision.

As I would like to extend the RAM I decided today to open the laptop to see if there is an open slot for RAM (yes there is one). But when I removed the cover, I saw something quite odd : my battery seems to have overheated causing some blistering, visually the surface of the battery is damaged.I only have my laptop for two weeks, and haven't use in hot conditions. I have used the power adaptor delivered with the laptop. The laptop seems to work fine but I am wondering if it is safe to keep on using it whith the battery in such a state ? Is there anywhere I can get a replacement battery ?Thanks a lot for your help,Cheers

I bought the laptop 3 months ago. however, at full charge, it can only last for 2 and a half hour only. I tried reseting the computer. I tried the battery gauge reset through Lenovo companion but no use. your support is appreciated.

Hi, I have a thinkpad t450 but want a new slightly more compact laptop with a better screen. Among my considerations from Lenovo would be the Yoga 260 or 460 models. How would people here rate them? I'd be looking for a minimum of 8.5 hours of battery. Could anybody say whether this is achievable? I've looked at online reviews which say anything from 6-9 hours for the 260, and I doubt somewhat Lenovos own clain of 12. Could anyone tell me how long theres would go on before running out of juice and any other considerations I should have when making a decision.
