I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

This might be a driver problem or an hardware issue. You could download drivers at : http://support.lenovo.com/ORIf that doesn't work then call customer care and give a repair request. New Laptops have rare Screen Hardware issue , But may be defective. There will be an onsite warranty that can be used for solving your issue.

Hey guys, I need help! I have a Lenovo y700-14ISK with a dedicated AMD Radeon R9 M375 graphics card. Everything runs fine when I'm not gaming but when a program uses the high performance graphics card my screen tears and flickers like mad(see youtube link). As soon as I switch out of the window, the screen tearing stops. I've tried a combination of changing Vsync and settings with no avail. Thus I think is it something wrong with the Radeon M375 graphics card, maybe with the connection?Radeon driver up to date, BIOS up to date, OS windows 10 youtube link

Hi, so about a week ago I started noticing some yellow spots at the bottom of my screen. The spots do not appear on an external monitor when I connect one and the hardware scan shows no problems with the video cards. I have had this laptop for about 6 months now. I was wondering if anyone knew what the problem was and how to fix it. Thanks

Hi, I bought my Ideapad Y700 in December 2015, so it's half year old. Warranty is 2 years after entering S/N on Lenovo website. Please only reply to this if you are form Lenovo support. Question: Will opening back lid of the laptop to check for connection between screen and rest of the laptop void my warranty ? I suspect it's a cable that got lose, but I would like to be sure if it's worth even checking. Is it ok to open screws to have a look inside or will that void my warranty ? Additional information: Screen blinks even when booting, before operating system and also in BIOS. So it really looks like hardware problem.

My laptop has started to have blue screen errors in the last weeks/months.This is happening more and more frequently (1-2 times per week). This happens while working normally (maybe with music streaming on Chrome with Pandora or Spotify?). In addition to this from time to time (once every 1-2 months) it completely crushes / freezes and I can only turn it off with the power button. It's is worth mentioning that I like to keep the computer on with many programs running, many PDF/word files open, and many chrome tabs open, and to restart it only every few weeks. I have already tried to update all the drivers and windows (Windows 10 Education, version 1709, build 16299.371), also using the Lenovo tool to update the system but it looks like it is not enough. Could it be the old BIOS. I am still running CDCN25WW. Is it worth trying to update to CDCN54WW? I wouldn't like to cause more damage... Thanks!

So I had the issue where the screen would flicker incessantly, I booted into Safe Mode, unsintalled the graphics drivers and all that ended.  However, Windows Update downloaded an update to the graphics card, which consistently failed to install.  This would also cause the laptop to reboot, and start the whole process over again (after about half an hour).  I tried to bypass Windows Update and go right to the device manager and update the driver there.  Windows did download drivers and I believe the system again rebooted while installing them.  Now when I boot up, I see the Lenovo Logo, then the swirling circle of dots (after the Lenovo logo disappears) just swirls constantly.  I can not reach Windows at all to go back into Safe Mode even.

Hello! I have had this problem for a LONG time now, and it is getting very frustrating now. Whenever my screen has a large area of a dark color, my whole display begins to glitch out and flicker. Not only do I have this problem, but there is a problem where there are pink and green areas covering places where it shouldn't be, if that makes any sense, I don't know how to explain it. I have tried so many ways to fix it, but none have worked. I had reinstalled my drivers MULTIPLE times, I had sent it back to Lenovo for repairs, I had unplugged some cables that people had said would fix it, but still, the problem still persists. I do not know what could fix this, and it is so aggravating! It seems like everyone who had this issue as well can never get it fixed either, and their thread gets suppressed and never to be heard from again... any help is appreciated at this point, I can't even bear to look at my laptop screen anymore because the flashing and flickering irritates my eyes. This seems like a problem with ALL y510p's, and I don't understand why anything can be done about it. Thanks in advanced.

I decided to invest in a new laptop as my other one had fallen on the ground, and lately for the past two month's all I've been having with it was troubles. Ther first problem I had was with the external microphone I used (Blue Yeti) It wouldn't detect or something and eventually made my speakers and microphone stop working all together. With no clue on how to fix it I ended up factory resetting my product. Everything's been fine with this problem, but if you have a fix to it if it arrises again then that'd be helpful.

Just yesterday I had a problem with my laptop where I was using it and the screen suddenly went black, I restarted it and the LENOVO loading screen came up only to have it stuck on the screen with a loading symbol and my curser. I contacted a live agent who told me to factory reset my laptop which brings me onto what happens when I do that below;

I have also had a problem where It would update from windows 8.1 to windows 10 & "Windows Explorer" would continue to crash and refresh every second thus making the laptop un-useable in this state unless I open a program through "Task Manager". Due to this problem I had to factory reset my laptop about five times as I cannot resolve it and it continues to arrise if I set a background to my laptop - I have tried everything, from updating drivers to much more and have yet to find a fix t... The second thing is what is the max RAM and storage the laptop can have? Lastly, will upgrading the RAM and SSD void my warranty? The "Hardware Maintenance Manual" (HMM) contains the specifications of your laptop (plus other information).  You can download it from the Lenovo web site.  Scroll to the bottom of this page and click "Manuals" in the "Support" column. I have an Ideapad 700-15ISK (not a Y700-15ISK), but I think that the answers to your questions are: (1) Two RAM sockets.  My 700 also has two RAM sockets, and the maximum RAM supported is 32 GB, but the Y700 might have a maximum of only 16 GB.  Look in the HMM to find out. (2) One M.2 SSD socket.  Note: not all brands and models of SSD are supported; you have to purchase an SSD that is on the list of supported SSDs (if you buy something else, there is no guarantee that it will work in the Y700).  Look in the HMM to see what SSD models are supported. (3) You can use an M.2 SSD with the HDD.  Alternatively, you could remove the HDD and replace it with a 2.5 inch SATA SSD. (4) I think (not sure) that the RAM, SSD, and HDD are regarded as "user replaceable parts", so you can change them without voiding your warranty.  But it needs someone from Lenovo to confirm... Hello, I have pets in the house and I just bought the laptop about a month ago. I was using it then I decided to clean it from outside because it got fingerprints all over it. When I flipped the laptop I was surprised by the huge amounts of pet hair piling up on the fan. It never crossed my mind that this would happen. I want to know if the fan is supported by a dust filter mesh? And is it possible that the hair got through to the components inside? Should I haved checked and cleaned from the inside? Thanks in advance,Mohamed

Does anyone have any problem on playing Blade and Soul with Ideapad Y700 (Intel Core i5-6300HQ, 8GB, 1TB HDD + 128GB SSD, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M, Windows 10)? I do not much problem playing other games (Tera, Aion, NFS, and etc) on this laptop but this is the only game that I have trouble playing. I personally, do like this laptop and it is value gaming laptop, so I should not expect much from it. But it runs other games perfectly... I tried changing the Nvidia 3d setting to high performance but I still get low FPS (30~40), even with the lowest setting.  Is this laptop not capable of playing this game or what is the problem? If you have any solution, please share with me.

I'm having some lag with my touchpad, about every 3 seconds. Searched around about this problem and did some updates on the driver.

Even did a factory reset, but same problem.

Anyone having similar problem and fixed it?
Read somewhere that it may have something to do with the Realtek HD audio software/driver??

Using external mouse for the most, but would be nice to have the option to use a functional touchpad from time to time.

how to install windows 7 on this.  Here's what i've done: I've used both the Windows 7 DVD and i created a bootable USB wiith it (UEFI Boot).  They work. I disabled the  security in the bios, so i could work with UEFI, but when i boot the machine with either, the windows 7 loading screen happens, then it freezes on the Starting Windows animated logo.  I can get no further. When i set the bios to boot in legacy mode it gets past that part, but then asks me for a driver.   I've downloaded all of the windows 7 64 bit drivers on the Y700-15ISK driver page, but none of them seem to be the driver that windows is looking for. Right now i'm a little at the end of my rope on this.  Any help would be appreciated.

So I wanted to ask: 1. Does it have a free M.2 port? all models of the Y700-15ISK should have them, or am I wrong? 2. Which type of M.2 SSD does it support? Hello, My laptop configuration:OS: Windows 10 64 bits (up-to-date)Model : Lenovo Ideapad Y700 15ISK (80NV)BIOS : CDCN37WW Five days ago the keyboard suddenly stopped to respond (nb : the Num Lock led remained on). I tried to restart Windows but since it could not (stucked on the reboot screen) I pressed the power button and heard a "clack" sound. When I restarted the computer the hard drive made some noices and the fans started to turn at high speed for ~3 seconds.NB : I upgraded to bios CDCN35WW few days before. After the incident I updated to CDCN37WW.  Today the problem happened again (keyboard not responding). Before trying to reboot I unpluged and pluged back my mouse (Lenovo gaming mouse). As I expected, it did not function once I pluged it back. I tried to log out before rebooting. At that time Windows crashed and I saw the BSOD for 1 second before the computer shut down and reboot showing the Novo Button Menu (the keyboard was still not responding at this time).I rebooted by pressing the power button, once again some worrysome electrical noices while I was doing so.The computer restarted and once again noices from the hard drive + fans at full speed. Any suggestion ? Are BIOS updates bugged ?Thanks in advance for any help.

Hello everybody! I am interested in buying the new Gaming Laptop Lenovo ideapad Y700-15ACZ in the TOP version with FX-8800P and 4GB R9-M385X. As I have seen, first offers come only having the 1TB WD slim hdd. So time to find out which will be the best M.2 SSD to add nearby. For this need to clarify first if the M.2 port is connected to the SATA III of the FX-8800P's internal southbridge only or if it has connection to PCIe lanes. The HMM https://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles_pub/ideapad_y700-15acz_hmm_201508.pdf tells on page 26 there is PCI Express Gen3 and SATA Gen3. For the hdd is written SATA III as note and for the ssd it is NGFF which means the same like you write M.2, so it is unclear. Btw - there are NO DDR4 ports on that model yet. On page 64 you find some oem M.2 ssd models that Lenovo offers to add. Those are SATA3 models like LiteOn CV-1 and Samsung PM871 with keys for "B+M". But this also doesn't mean anything more than might be badder choices. Have a look at the mainboard on page 48. You can see that the M.2 connector has only key M (right side) which means PCIe 3.0 (cpu) + SATA whereas key B (left side) would mean PCIe 2.0 (southbridge) + SATA. That M key port would allow to put in ssd cards like the Samsung SM951MZ-HPV (AHCI) model which might be the fastest using AHCI+PCIe or even the newest model Samsung SSD 950 pro which uses PCIe 3.0+NVMe only. But if there exists only a SATA III connection, the key should be "B only" instea... Read more
