Q: unlocker and delta

Hi,
Did any one know how to get infected with toolbars and browser hijacker ? because I tried to download a few sample of them but none of them work, my last try today i downloaded unlocker because i read here that it came bundled with the delta search but again no infection, my browsers (Chrome, Edge, Firefox ) remain clean, I tested the unlocker in VMware environment , windows 10 , with no antivirus or anti-malware installed.
so any one have idea how to get infected !!
Thank you.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

@thegeekaid: You want to be infected? Well go to the third party download repository like CNET, Brothersoft and others where installer contains numerous bundled toolbars or possible PUP.

I have used multiple antimalware applications to get rid of the constant dns unlocker pop ups such as(Zemana, hitman pro, malwarebytes) and nothing seems to get rid of the dns unlocker. It has cleaned other pop ups but this one and a few others still seem to pop up. I just get constantly redirected over and over and is a hassle to get to regular websites. Any help would be much appreciated

Hey guys,

I really need to remove DNS Unlocker from my PC. I already tried several of the methods found elsewhere in the internet (malware bytes, Hitman pro, adware). At first, these programs seem to clean my PC (tried several of them in several past infections on this computer). However, after some days are past, it all come back again in all of its force.

I also safely removed the program, removed its extension in Chrome, but it is immortal!!!

Does anyone has any clue on what should I do to completely get rid of it once and for all?

Thank you very much.

Please before you say go search the other DNS Unlocker posts, read this, I have tried absolutely everything I've seen in other posts, and nothing worked.

All my browsers have pop up adds of DNS Unlocker since 2 weeks ago, and since then I've been trying to remove it. First I did a basic reinstalation of every browser, nothing worked.
I scanned the pc with Adwcleaner, malwarebytes, and kaspersky antivirus, nothing worked either.
Tried to go back to a windows set point from before, but the damn DNS Unlocker was there anyway.
It doesn't show up in the uninstall programs list, and all my DNS settings/internet settins are perfectly fine.

Please I really need help, it's really annoying to browse internet with this thing popping up everywhere and closing pages because of adds.

Thanks.

Looks like I am infected with adware yet again. I uninstalled Dns Unlocker from the control panel (not that I installed this program to begin with). I ran Malwarebtyes which detected the adware and removed it. After a reboot i'm still having the same symptoms. I included a picture of the problem. I am running Trojan Killer with the free trial to see if this removes it. It has detected a few things already. And on top of the picture below every so often i'll get redirected when I click on certain things such as a mute button for a video. I am running Windows 8.1 Norton is what originally alerted me to the trojan, and claimed it caught it and quarantined it, but apparently not!

Hey everyone. The same thing is happening on my computer and might have some additional information.

History: By popups, I had to realize that something got on my PC. It was called "DNS unlocker" as I found in the installed programs. It took me a while to remove (only the symptoms I'm afraid). I dug through registry and all. At the end I found that it changed my DNS settings. Once I fixed that the popups disappeared. Completely removed Firefox and reinstalled, reset firewall settings and whatever I could think of. Worth noting that I only installed Eset after I detected the infection.

After all this I started seeing the blocking popups by Eset. Happened fairly rare but when I saw the malicious looking address (skype-soft), I started digging.
Eset does provide information in the logs regarding the process initiating the connection, however it's being initiated through temp files as a disguise, and they are deleted right after the event:

Time; URL; Status; Application; User; IP address

I recently received an e-mail notification that an update was available for my Unlocker program. I clicked on the link (to C.Net) but when I tried to log-in the screen locked/froze. This has been the case every time since when I've tried to log-in to C.Net. Anyway, I downloaded the update without logging-in but during the process Comodo picked up a couple of 'malicious files' warnings. I cleaned these files myself and continued with the update.
I would like any ideas on why and how the above could happen.
Also, I've since decided to Uninstall/Remove Unlocker from my computer but one little stubborn file won't go, it won't delete. It's an application extension file called UnlockerHook.dll.
Anyone know how I can (or if I should) get rid of this and why did Unlocker download with malicious files when it never had before ?

Unless I misunderstood, the core unlocker should attempt to unlock core...as per the name.
There should be no changes in clockrate.

how will this affect the lifespan of the parts?Click to expand...

Watch your temps, and it shouldn't be a problem.

Hello! A couple of days ago I?ve downloaded some new games, and with them, DNS Unlocker sneaked on my PC. I immediately removed the virus by using this article: How to remove DNS Unlocker (updated), but today it appeared again. Probably, I incorrectly executed instructions, that were in the article, or I am just stupid, creating problems for myself, using untrusted sites = (Please tell me what can I do to clean my computer from DNS Unlocker. Except that, can somebody tell me, are the disposal methods described in this article useful or not? Maybe I just have followed the wrong directions =) I am waiting for your answers, please help me while my PC is still alive.

Hi! is there anyone who used this prog? I installed it (seems to be good and reliable), because , after installing Zone Alarm succesfully, the ZoneAlarmsetup couldn't be deleted ("in use by another program"); so, I checked with Unlocker and it was Windows Explorer who was blocking it. But the Unlocker- option "give free" (or something like that) didn't work. (I don't have any probs with the locked prog though); maybe a restart in safe mode and then a removal trial?
Thanks!

I've been scanning some family photos into XP pro, and sometimes when I decide to change the name of a folder or file, XP pro says it's basically locked by other software, etc. I've been logging off and back on when this happens and it takes care of the problem but it's a pain. I DLed Unlocker freeware to my internet box and installed it, because I like to check freeware to see if it tries to connect home thru my firewall and, to see what my HIPS, KAV AV, and the other malware scans complain about it, and I keep an up-to-date working image of XP on the internet box, so if I don't like the software or it's nasty to uninstall, I can image my OS back quickly. When I started installing unlocker, KAV complained about it and classified it as a loader. I have uninstalled it and cleaned up the registry, but haven't mounted a clean image yet, as there appears to be no problems with the uninstall . Before I use it again, I'd like some input from others on what to do in these situations where SW is locked by another ap, and if this unlocker freeware is OK, and is there any better software/procedure to deal with these situations. thx

I don't know whether or not you have ever heard of the program "Unlocker"
http://ccollomb.free.fr/unlocker/

It is a simple little program that runs out of the right-click context menu in a particular drive and it helps delete unwanted and stubborn files and folders. I had it when I ran 32 bit software but now that I am running x64 Vista, it will not work. Actually the x32 bit version did install, but would not appear in the context menu.

The creator of the program says he is working on a x64 bit version and I emailed him my thoughts. But I was just wondering, if you knew of a similar program that might work until he comes out with the x64 version.

Right now Ive got a stubborn folder I can't get rid of. I know there is a command line way to get rid of it, but I can never remember it and always seem to screw it up.

A:Unlocker utility

MoveOnBoot which is suppose to work with Vista can be downloaded here

You can delete a file on reboot, not as good a program as Unlocker, but will do the trick.

What is your default browser? It will likely be necessary to completely uninstall it including your profile. You can backup your bookmarks before doing that.

Use Download Revo Uninstaller Freeware in Advanced Mode to completely remove Firefox and/ or Google Chrome.

Use CCleaner to remove Temporary files, program caches, cookies, logs, etc. Use the Default settings. No need to use the
Registry Cleaning Tool...risky. Pay close attention while installing and UNcheck offers of toolbars....especially Google.
After install, open CCleaner and run by clicking on the Run Cleaner button in the bottom right corner.
CCleaner - PC Optimization and Cleaning - Free Download

Post the three lists mentioned below using CCleaner:

Open CCleaner and click on Tools. Choose Startups. On that page you will see a list of Windows Startups and at the top tabs for each browser and Scheduled Tasks.
At the bottom right of that page you will see a button when clicked will allow you to Copy and Paste the list of Windows Startups and Scheduled Tasks into your next
post. Please do that.

Open CCleaner and click on Tools. Choose Uninstall. On that page you will see a list of programs installed on your computer and at the bottom right of that page you
will see a button when clicked will allow you to Copy and Paste that list in your next post. Please do that.

Hi,

Thank you very much everybody who helps us out on this forum.
A couple of days ago I started noticing slow performance when browsing and also the fan at times blew like crazy with no apparent reason...
Today after rebooting my notebook the Norton AV complained that there is an "unusual amount of outbound traffic" and offered to run some of its "fix"  tools. The tool reported it fixed the problem and ordered to reboot, but during start up the very Norton informed me that it prevented downloading Zlob.Q from some web site like 4u dot org or something like this. Then I also noticed some weird behavior in my browser with "DNS Unlocker" pop ups, slowed down performance and so on. After some googling on the problem I found that DNS setting changed and also found registry entries like this:

If it's a portable app, you can move the entire folder anywhere but don't delete it. Move it under documents folder. You can always re-pin it to start by right-click method.

Could Anyone help me out on how to solve this?

This virus is very annoying and keeps opening unwanted tabs.

Thank you in advance.
